It took me entirely too long to write this chapter. I struggle with the first few chapters.
Also I see more favorites and follows as I update and that makes me so happy :D so thanks guys!
Disclaimer: I do not own My Hero Academia or Natasha Bedingfield.
I am unwritten
Can't read my mind
I'm undefined
I'm just beginning
The pen's in my hand
Ending unplanned
Staring at the blank page before you
Open up the dirty window
Let the sun illuminate the words that you could not find
Reaching for something in the distance
So close you can almost taste it
Release your inhibitions
Feel the rain on your skin
No one else can feel it for you
Only you can let it in
No one else, no one else
Can speak the words on your lips
Drench yourself in words unspoken
Live your life with arms wide open
Today is where your book begins
The rest is still unwritten

Miyuki laid her head down over her arms finally fed up with the cramp in her neck she had from hunching over her notes most of the evening, trying to stay ahead on her studies so that she was properly prepared for the intellectual demands of Yuuei. She may have been in all of the advanced classes at her middle school but that would be nothing next to Yuuei standards. Plenty of Yuuei students were talented, you had to be smart and educated as well to stand out to hero agencies. With tonight being her last night to prepare, she decided to rest her body these last few days to dive head first into her studies.
Aizawa walked past her cracked door, exhausted from the protrol he'd picked up when the last school semester ended. He gently pushed her door open with his foot to check up on her progress. Miyuki flopped her head over with all the grace of a dead fish exposing an expression that also resembled a dead fish.
The alarm clock beside her bed read 22:22.
"I can see studying is going well. You might as well go get some sleep. Just because I'm your teacher doesn't mean you can be late for my class, I've expelled students for less," Aizawa lectured. Miyuki smiled to her self and raised her head from the desk he had bought her soon after she had started middle school. She looked absolutely ridiculous with the top page of her notes sticking to her face. He almost laughed but he cleared his throat instead and covered his small imused grin with his fist. She ripped the page off her face and scratched the back of her head, "Yeah, I guess you're right. I think I started drifting off there for a minute."
"Goodnight kid, I left money for you to grab on the way to school in the morning in the catch all next to the door." He told her before, he turned to leave his young ward's bedroom.
"Goodnight, Aizawa. I won't let you down, I'll work twice as hard as anyone else in that class. I will become as strong as I possibly can to help keep pro heros and civilians alike safe."
Aizawa smiled at the young girl's ambition as he exited her room and closed her door gently behind him.
'I know you will do great. You're a smart, talented, and driven kid. Unfortunately for you, you're actually at a disadvantage by having me as your homeroom teacher, I know exactly what weak spots to hone in on. You can overcome it, just be rational and stay focused.'
The next morning, Aizawa was gone before she woke up. Miyuki knew he would be but a small part of her hoped that she would get to see him for a few minutes before school. He may not have been one for words of encouragement, but he kept her grounded. Something she desperately needed right now.
Instead she settled for meditating on the roof for a moment as the sun rose turning the sky beautiful hues of orange and yellow. She inhaled the chilly morning air deeply into her lungs filling them with feelings of calm as she exhaled all doubts she had of the upcoming day. With her inner peace now restored she began to stretch her muscles that were still tight from sleep.
Miyuki whipped the steamed off the mirror after her shower. Her lilac hair now reached just past her chin, she noted. She didn't look in the mirror long before she slipped her mask in place, covering the bottom half of her face and hiding the disgusting reminder of her past from the world around her.
Shit
Shit
SHIT
Miyuki panicked internationally as she activated her quirk just long enough to leap through the train doors as they started to close. She let out a sign of releaf as she plopped down in the only avaliable seat left. She would have to remember to leave leave earlier the next day in order to catch the train on time, she noted to herself as she slipped her ear buds into her ears. Before she could decide on what she wanted to listen to, the doors slid open and another kid with a Yuuei uniform got on.
'Tokoyami'
He seemed to have noticed her as well as he nodded in her direction. She nodded back and he stood next to her. They rode that way to school in comfortable silence. Miyuki hadn't known him very well from middle school but she decided she liked him. He didn't try to get her to talk or ask a million questions about her mask or her past.
Her heart thudded more and more uncontrollably as she walked across the Yuuei campus. Even though Aizawa was her guardian she had never even seen Yuuei in person, other than in the Entrance Exam. She looked around in awe, completely taken back by just how big and amazing everything was. If she hadn't had Tokoyami there with her, she would have gotten lost, unable to control the impulse to explore.
Aizawa's warning flash through Miyuki's mind.
..I've expelled students for less..
She inwardly cringed and picked up the pace a little, now walking a few paces in front of Tokoyami. Her heart dropped into her stomach as she came to the door of her class room at last.
1-A
She waited for Tokoyami to be at her heel before pushing the door open, ripping off the proverbial band aid.
Sorry to do this to you guys! But it was irresistible. Mwahaha ~
