Chapter 7: Rescued by a random and mysterious stranger.
It didn't take long for the entire duck group to get up and join Luke along with C3PO as he explained that R2 went missing last night and asked the family to help him out, which they accepted.
They end up riding Luke's speeder into the desert wasteland of the planet where he decided to stop his speeder.
Luke: Old Ben Kenobi lives out in this direction somewhere, but I don't see how that R2 unit could have come this far. We must have missed him. Uncle Owen isn't going to take this well.
Scrooge: Don't be daft, it can at least be worth a shot if we do have a look around here.
Donald: Well all I'm seeing is nothing but sand and the mountains.
Louie: So why did we all need to come along again?
Della: Because we need to give Luke all the help he needs to find whatever you call the small droid again.
Launchpad: I think we called it R2.
Della: Yes that's the name of it.
Duckworth then appeared right next to them.
Beakley: Did you find anything?
She asked him.
Duckworth: Unfortunately there is no sign of the small fellow droid anywhere.
C3PO: Sir, would it help if you told him it was my fault?
He asked Luke.
Luke: Sure. He needs you. He'd probably only deactivate you for a day or so...
But 3PO interrupted him before he finished.
C3PO: Deactivate! Well, on the other hand if you hadn't removed his restraining bolt
Luke then interrupted him.
Luke: Wait, there's something dead ahead on the scanner. It looks like our droid.. hit the accelerator.
He said as his speeded moved to the direction of the droid but unbeknownst to the group a sand person is seen watching them and following their direction.
Not long after the speeder stopped on the floor of a massive canyon where they spotted R2 nearby.
May: Is that the small droid over there?
She asked.
Huey: Yeah! It looks like it to me.
Luke: Let's go then.
He said as the group got out of the speeder and approached the R2 droid a bit more closer, but as it started to get away Luke got out his long laser rifle.
Luke: Hey, whoa, just where do you think you're going.
He asked R2 as it just whistled in response.
C3PO: Master Luke here is your rightful owner. We'll have no more of this Obi Wan Kenobi gibberish and don't talk to me about your mission either. You're fortunate he doesn't blast you into a million pieces right here.
3PO angrily said to the droid.
Della: You don't need to be that mean to him. I think he is very sorry.
June: Well at least we managed to find it.
Daisy: But why did it come all the way out here?
She asked.
Beakley: I'm not quite sure maybe something about this Ben Kenobi guy I think.
Huey: Ben Kenobi? Like Obi Wan Kenobi?
He asked curiously.
Scrooge: Ken who?
Scrooge asked him.
Huey: It's a long story, Uncle Scrooge.
Donald: What should we do now Luke?
He asked.
Luke: We should go back. It's getting late. I only hope we can get back before Uncle Owen really blows up.
Louie: You don't have to take the full blame for this. We can take some as well.
Luke: Are you sure?
He asked before continuing.
Luke: Because if so then I think my Uncle will throw you guys out and I don't want you guys to suffer through this planet's climate.
Louie: I don't have an argument for that then.
Launchpad: Well I can't believe it's almost dark already. Time really does fly by here quickly.
C3PO: If you don't mind my saying so, sir, I think you should deactivate the little fugitive until you've gotten him back to your workshop.
He told Luke.
Luke: No, he;s not going to try anything.
However R2 jumps to life with a mass of frantic whistles and screams.
Luke:What's wrong with him now?
He asked.
C3PO: Oh my sir, he says there are several creatures approaching from the southeast.
Huey: Creatures! What creatures!
May: Well that does not sound good!
June: What are you going to do!
Louie: Are they going to eat us!
Scrooge: Now calm down lads there is no need to be afraid.
He said trying to calm his great nephews and clone nieces down.
Luke then takes out his rifle once again.
Luke: Sandpeople! Or worse!
He told the entire family as they looked at him with confusion.
Della: I think you guys should stay back.
She told the four young ducks.
Scrooge: I think she's right. Duckworth and Beakley keep an eye on them.
Beakley: Got it.
Duckworth: With pleasure.
Donald: You should also stay back, Daisy.
He told his girlfriend.
Daisy: Well you guys be careful then.
Luke: Well let's go then. Come on.
He said as 3PO along with Scrooge, Donald, and Della followed suit.
They then make their way to the top of a rock ridge and Luke scans the canyon with his electrobinoculars which helps him spot two riderless Banthas nearby.
As the group had their eyes on the Banthas something huge moved into their view and before any of them could be able to react a large tusken raider managed to loom over them much to their surprise.
Luke: Whoa!
Della: What the!
Scrooge: What in the blazes!
Donald: Where did he come from!
C3PO: Whaaaa!
3PO Then falls off a nearby cliff.
The tusken raider then takes out his weapon which was a dreaded ax blade and points it at Luke, Scrooge, Donald, and Della much to their horror. As he did swing the ax Luke managed to block it with his rifle as it was then sliced in half. The four of them then attempt to run away from the raider but are then forced to the edge of a deep crevice causing them to pass out. The raider then let out a huge roar to call for reinforcements.
Not long after R2 is seen hiding behind a small alcove in the rocks as a larger group of sand people walk by carrying a passed out Luke, Scrooge, Donald, and Della where they manage to spot Luke's speeder. When they did spot Luke's speeder they started to completely ransake the speeder but not long after they heard a strange howling noise from nearby which caused the group of sandpeople to be frightened and to retreat. When the sandpeople are gone and the howling sound gets even closer R2 moves further behind the rocks.
Then a man that appears to be in his senior years approaches the unconscious farm boy and three ducks to see if they are ok. When R2 slowly moves a bit forward, the strange old man takes notice of the small droid.
?: Hello there! Come here my little friend don't be afraid.
He said to the droid as it waddled in response and made it further away from the rocks it was hiding behind.
?: Don't worry, they will be alright.
The strange old man said as Luke Scrooge, Donald, and Della started to wake up.
Luke: What happened?
He asked.
Donald: I'm not so sure.
Della: I think those sand guys did a sneak attack on us.
Scrooge: I think they did indeed las.
?: You four should rest easy, you all had a busy day. You're all fortunate that you're still in one piece.
The four then noticed the strange old man.
Della: Ughhh! Who the hell are you?
She asked.
Donald: Where are you working for those guys?
He also asked.
?: Easy now. I'm not here for a fight. I come in peace.
Scrooge: Well thank you for saving us, lad. We do appreciate it.
?: Well I really do appreciate it.
Luke then recognizes who the old man was.
Luke: Ben? Ben Kenobi! Boy, am I glad to see you!
Della: You two know each other Luke?
She asked him.
Luke: Oh Ben! These are some of my new friends I have made recently. This is Scrooge, Della, and Donald. They crashed here from a different planet.
Ben: Well it's great to meet you travelers as well. The jundland wastes are not to be traveled lightly. Tell me young Luke, what brings you and your friends out this far?
He asked.
Luke: Oh, this little droid! I think he's searching for his former master. I've never seen such devotion in a droid before.. there seems to be no stopping him. He claims to be the property of Obi Wan Kenobi. Is he a relative of yours? Do you know what he's talking about?
He asked Ben.
Ben: Obi Wan Kenobi... Obi Wan? Now that's a name I haven't heard in a long time.. a long time.
Luke: I think my uncle knew him. He said he was dead.
Ben: Oh, he's not dead, not,, not yet.
Luke: You know him!
Ben: Well of course, of course, I know him. He's me! I haven't gone by the name Obi Wan since oh, before you were born.
Donald: Well that really is quite a long time for you.
Ben: It was a long time indeed.
Luke: Then the droid does belong to you.
Scrooge: Apparently it does since your name is Obi Wan after all.
Ben: Don't seem to remember ever owning a droid. Very interesting..
Della: Are sure it's not your droid sir?
She asked but before Ben could give an answer he looked up at the overhanging cliffs.
Ben: I think we better get indoors. The Sandpeople are easily startled but they will soon be back and in greater numbers.
Della: But we can't leave without everyone else!
Ben: There are more of you?
Donald: Yeah we have a really big family Ben.
Scrooge: Just give us a moment to get everyone else before we move forward.
The three ducks then walked back to where everyone else was but as they did a familiar demon ghost came out and surprised them.
Scrooge: Duckworth! What is the meaning of this?
He said as his ghost butler returned to his normal form.
Duckworth: My strong apologies sir.
Della: Where are my boy?
Donald: And everyone else?
They asked.
Duckworth: Don't worry they are ok. It's all clear.
Duckworth said as he turned to the location where everyone else was hiding.
Daisy: Oh thank goodness it's just you guys!
Huey: Is everything ok?
June: We were starting to get really worried about you guys.
Launchpad: We thought those weird desert people were going to capture you guys with how many they really were.
Scrooge: What were you lads doing behind there?
He asked.
Beakley: These strange creatures came right out of nowhere and quickly overwhelmed us but thankfully we managed to fight back and went here for safety as soon as possible.
Donald: Well everything else is safe for no but these sandpeople are going to be back for reinforcements.
May: Well that does not sound like good news.
Louie: So what do we do?
Penumbra: Yeah! There isn't a home or town around here for miles!
Della: Well we were managed to be saved by this charming old guy before those sandpeople managed to capture us and offered us his help.
Penumbra: Should we trust this guy?
She asked.
Scrooge: Well to put it short the old lass appears to know Luke very well and these sandpeople that did try to capture us are coming closer if we don't move now.
He said as the whole group started to go back to the same direction Ben and Luke are at to get away from the Sandpeoples territory.
