As young Fili and Kili sleep something lurks in the night, or so they think. But nothing is as it seems. As a brother gets hurt the other gets scared and lost. Shall I say more?

On the last night of winter, Bilbo sat shivering in a garden, trying to imagine the world without Thorin Oakenshield. (Another happy-ending fic, more or less.)

While keeping up with Thorin's tireless pace, Bilbo Baggins accidentally gets himself injured badly; and with Thorin unwilling to slow down its only a matter of time before Bilbo temper gets the best of him. Fili and Kili take notice and make plans to do something about it.
