This "beginning of Kataang" story takes place in the aftermath of the Season 1 finale episodes "Siege of the North Parts 1 and 2". It deals with Aang's regrets and shame of the annihilation of the Fire Nation Navy, and Katara's comfort of his pain. Written for Day 1: "Beginnings" of Kataang Forever Forum Kataang Week 2012. It's been a few years since the end of the hundred year war. Azula's escaped from the Fire Nation Mental Institute and Zuko asks someone he can trust to bring her home safely.

Background: Toph had Lin, then she and Sokka was married and had a child, but he died in an accident. This story is about his funeral. Sneak peek: She cried out her frustration. Her voice was loud and highly pitched. Her hands slapped her face and pulled her hair like a mad woman. She didn't have any control of her body now. Even tears had now streamed down her red cheeks.

Sokka consoles Suki as she recovers from the nightmare of Boiling Rock. This story portrays a very serious side of Sokka and Suki. This also characterizes the Fire Nation and Azula as vicious and merciless war machines capable of any atrocity against their enemies (in addition to genocide of the other races) - much like feudal Japan in the era of the samurai and shoguns.

Aang vanishes without a trace after the war ends. Six years later Zuko discovers the rogue Avatar on a deserted island, but what Zuko discovers about Aang may prove to be more then he bargained for. Story contains slight Zutara, mostly Kataang. Reviews are greatly appreciated. The story is discontinued for the time being. I Hope to fix it a bit and have it re-posted soon.

Mai travels to Omashu to learn why her parents have chosen to stay there after the war. She learns their story from Toph, who is ticked at King Bumi-as is the rest of the city. She also learns that she and Toph have an unwanted common trait.

In a different universe, with different names, and a whole new war, these two can't remember their past. In a world similar to ours, neither will remember their life. With a war raging that they've never seen before, can they save the world and save their relationship? Or will they have to sacrifice who they are and their love for one another?
