Chapter 26- Break V

The Scooby Gang made their way to the dining room, finding their future selves were already there, the food laid out for them all as well. They sat down too, slowly starting their own eating dinner process as well to sate their hunger.

"How many did you watch?" Summers asked.

"I think we've just done 20 by now", Buffy told her.

"So there are just 2 more left for their first year", Rosenberg said.

"So, after that we will view their second year?" Willow asked.

"Second, third, fourth and then fifth too", Maclay informed her. "It's a long, long road, and you need to see all of it to see for yourselves."

"Yeah, we get it, stuff is gonna be very messed up soon", Xander said with a sigh.

"Well, Angel did save LA from a mess in the latest recording", Dawnster said as she put some food in her mouth.

"Yeah, but compared to what's gonna happen, this is nothing", Harris told her.

"LA is gonna be real messed up by the end of it", Dawn said.

"How bad was it?" Giles asked.

"Very horrible", Summers said. "Though they did recover eventually."

"We're supposed to do something about that then?" Buffy asked.

"Yeah, that too, but it's a big mess that leads to an even bigger mess", Summers informed the past people.

"In short, there are a lot of messes", Xander quipped. "I have lost count, ya know?"

"I think we have to keep count if we are to change the future", Tara pointed out to him.

"So, Faith", Buffy said to her future self. "I saw the recordings with her. Both of them."

"And how do you feel about them?" Maclay asked her.

"I thought I knew Faith well, but seeing these, I realized Faith was little like what I thought", Buffy said. "She was a lonely person who didn't know how to ask for help, and she made bad choice after bad choice. I thought she had just lost it, but a piece of her was still inside. And when she asked Angel to kill her, that was when I realized I had judged her wrongly."

"Yes, came as a shock to me too", Summers said. "Guess we don't really understand some people after all, like her and Angel."

"I thought I did, but I was wrong", Buffy agreed. "And then I barged in and almost messed it up. Even though I had good reason to hate Faith, I went out of line there, where I shouldn't have, and then I brought up Riley to hurt Angel because I felt he picked Faith over me, which was not the case. God, sometimes I can be pretty annoying."

"Tell me about it", Dawnster said.

"Yeah, I had to live with it for so long", Dawn said with a smirk as Summers and Buffy both gave her looks.

"You are no saint either, you know that?" Summers asked.

"Yeah, but neither are you", Dawn told her with a smirk.

"Then there's the thing with Gunn", Buffy said. "I never thought about how aside from us and Angel's team, others could be doing the same thing out there, trying to fight the good fight."

"Slayers, Watchers and good Vamps can't be everywhere", Harris pointed out to them all. "Sometimes, people got to do things on their own."

"That's what I said", Xander said to his future self.

"Maybe you're learning then", Harris said as the two chuckled at that.

"But they were all over their heads, in spite of that preparation, they were reckless, and I don't think they discriminate between the kind of Vampires they kill", Buffy told them. "So it is a risky business, and they are putting themselves at high risk with their actions."

"You do raise a good point about their lack of discrimination, that is one huge problem, but then again, we were bigoted too at one point", Summers said and Buffy couldn't disagree about that either.

"You said you'd be joining us for the second year", Tara reminded.

"Yeah, but in the 2nd recording", Maclay said. "And after that I think we will come in at the 10th one, and watch till the 16th one."

"You have it all memorized", Xander commented.

"I have to do stuff like that so others don't", Maclay said as they chuckled at that.

"Yeah, what we do without Tara?" Willow said, wrapping an arm around her own Tara as they smiled at each other and kissed on the lips.

"What is it that happened in the second year though?" Giles asked out of curiosity.

"We were facing a Goddess and mom's condition", Summers said, and all winced at the memory of Joyce's death, and just barely managed to check their emotions, or the two generations of Summers sisters would have ended up crying over remembering her. "Angel was losing his faith in everything around him, as well as himself."

"How did that happen?" Willow wondered.

"Wolfram and Hart know how to break through their opponent, know them better, and just depress them in general", Rosenberg said. "And they did that to Angel in full force."

"Though he became a dick for a while too", Harris said to them all. "It's a long and complicated story, ya know? You'd have to be there to understand."

"Or just watch it", Xander popped up.

"Yeah, that too", Harris said as they all continued eating their food.

"I'm guessing the years after the second one get even worse for them all", Tara said.

"Oh you have no idea, we thought we had it bad, but Angel's 3rd and 4th year were worse than our 6th and 7th", Summers said to them.

"That bad?" Buffy asked and she nodded. "I had no idea."

"Well, now you'll get some", Dawn said, as they all finally finished their food.

"I hope we don't see a lot of brutal stuff tomorrow then, other than the 4th recording for the day", Xander said as they all got up and went to their rooms to sleep for the night.

Break chapter done, and after this we finally end Season 1 in 2 more chapters.
