I own nothing but the story and my own original characters. Enjoy.
Hi. I'm Harry, Harry Potter to be exact. And I'm eight years old. I have long red hair that reached my lower back, bright green eyes and rounded glasses to help with vision. I currently wearing a white shirt with black shorts and a knife in my back.
Yeah, I was just stabbed. And it wasn't by some crazy lunatic in the middle of an busy street but by my own uncle as he looked down with that maniacal grin of his.
As I was laying there a voice appeared in my head. It was feminine, slightly robotic sounding, but strangely comforting. I'm going to call it Lily. I don't know why, it just seems right.
Beginning Configuration! Was the only thing Lily has said but I think she has a lot more word reading to come out. I had no idea what it means but I hope it's something good, for me anyway.
As I'm thinking, I noticed my body beginning to get hotter. "Ahh, this heat! It's like I'm in a fire? I'm too hot!" Lily began to speak. Request confirmed! Acquisition of the skill "Heat Resistance" is successful!
"Is this how I die? Not going out heroically as a superhero or vigilante like in the comics, but to the betrayal of my only living relatives? Ahh, the pain, it hurts!" I thought to myself. Request confirmed! Lily spoke. Acquisition of the skill "Stab Resistance" is successful! Continuing! "Physical Attack Resistance" acquisition successful!
I could hear my uncle laughing, watching me struggle toturn over and look at the ceiling. My aunt was complaining about the blood now staining the freshly cleaned carpet. "Wait... I cleaned that carpet! Why do I have to have so much blood?"Request confirmed! Creating a body that requires no blood!
I gasped at hearing what Lily said, creating a body that requires no blood? Am I being...what's the word? Reincarnated? Yeah, am I being reincarnated? Unfortunately a mysterious pain from my forehead , exactly where my scar lies, hit me, ridding my of my thoughts. "Why does this hurt so much?"Request confirmed! "Pain Nullification" acquired! "Possession Nullification" acquired!
Despite the pain, I managed to turn onto my back now able to see my aunt and uncle argue. It wasn't about killing me but how to explain the blood in the carpet and metallic smell in the air. "Damm, why is it so cold?"Request confirmed! "Cold Resistance" acquisition successful! Attainment of both "Heat Resistance" and "Cold Resistance" has resulted in a new skill: "Thermal Fluctuation Resistance"!
Both "Heat" and "Cold Resistance" huh. I guess whatever I'll become won't feel temperature or pain. Urrr, another flash of pain. I guess I am dying. "I only wish I could have deleted my save files off of Dudley's games." I thought. Lily appeared again. Deletion of data via electronic current has failed due to insufficient information! As an alternative, "Electric Current Resistance" has been acquired! "Paralysis Resistance" is included! Successful!
I can't believe this is how I die. Killed by an abusive, fat, tub of lard of a man. "In my next life, I'll go on a prow and kill anyone that is abusive to anyone!"Acquisition of Unique Skill: "Predator" successful!
"I could also be whoever and whatever I want! This stupid family can't decide that anymore!" Request confirmed! Acquisition of Intrinsic Skill: "Mimicry" successful!
In the stories my teachers tell my class, children grow up to be wizards, witches, sages and other mystical types of people. "Maybe I would have become a wizard, or a sage...maybe even a great sage."Request confirmed! Extra Skill Acquired: "Sage"! Continuing, "Sage" will transform into the Unique Skill: "Great Sage"! Successful!
Man, will you just shut up already! Can't I...die in piece you str...strange v...v...voice... and I died.
The world is so dark... I can't see. Where am I? What happened to me? The last thing I remember is...Uncle Vernon standing over me. He had...something in his hand. What was it?
I...I remember red. Not my hair, no it was darker. It was all around me and it was... in his... hand... oh god! I died! And by my fat uncle's hand!
Wait...wait... if I was stabbed, where is the pain? I don't hurt anywhere. I'm not cold, but my eyes won't open. I can't see anything! Guess that is why the world is so dark.
My hands, my feet... I can't feel them. My body...? I try to feel my body and suddenly I move! I guess I'm alive just don't have any arms or legs. Or eyes. But at least I'm alive and can move.
Wait the world is coming into focus. Are...are those rocks? I've never heard of a hospital with rocks before... did Vernon throw me into a cave? I wouldn't put it past him. No, the voice, Lily, said she was creating a body. Was I reincarnated then? Must have been.
I moved my body slightly and touched something. It felt like a plant. Like the petunias my aunt makes me look after. As I was wondering if I could talk, as one usually does, the plant dissolved in my body.
Oh wow! I can feel the plant in my body dissolving and becoming one with me. It felt somewhat like eating but without the chewing and swallowing... ok so nothing like eating. But I could feel every aspect of the plant. Umm... that doesn't actually sound normal. What am I? I'm pretty sure my body couldn't dissolve plant's before, at least those I don't eat.
Ok so what am I? I feel... bouncy and rubbery, my whole body does. Hmm... uh-huh... I think I get it now. I've been reincarnated into another body! Just like Lily said I would be! What were the skill things again? Oh I can't remember bu- wait wait wait! Why is my voice so high pitched? Granted my voice wasn't deep before my untimely end but I didn't sound so... so... girly before.
I guess I was reincarnated into a female body. Well I did have some bad experiences as a boy so a gender swap may just be what I need. Maybe my new body doesn't have a gender? Maybe my voice is so high pitched because I'm young? Oh well, at least I know I'm no longer human.
It seems I was stabbed, died and reincarnated as a slime. I think it has been a long time since I died but I don't know. I can't tell how much time has passed as my new slime body doesn't need sleep or food or water. It's actually pretty cool.
What am I doing at the moment? Eating the rest of the nearby plants. Why? Because I'm so bored! There is nothing to do but eat these things. Actually, where do the plants go?
Answer!I screamed. A disembodied voice is the last thing I expected to hear. The plants are stored in the stomach of your Unique Skill: "Predator"!
This voice sounds familiar. I think I heard it when I was stabbed. Lily, I called it... maybe? What are you mysterious voice? Answer! It is the effect of your Unique Skill: "Great Sage"! Now that your ability has been established, you will be capable of reacting more quickly!
""Great Sage" huh... when you say "Skill" do you mean my abilities?" I asked with curiosity in my voice... mind... mind-voice? "What is "Predator"?"It allows you to ingest objects and analyze them within your body! You can then acquire that object's skills!Once the analysis is complete, you can mimic the object!"Oh." I said unintelligently. Additionally, it can isolate harmful objects that cannot be analyzed!
"Wow! This "Predator" skill sounds incredible!" I shouted in excitement. "But is it really something a slime should possess?" I added before quickly including, "Not that I'm complaining!"
Feeling that Lily was slightly angry somehow I quickly said. "Hey, can you analyze those plants I ate? I don't know what they are."
Confirmed! Analyze complete! It is a Hipokute Herb! A valuable herb that only grows in areas richin Magicules! Used as an ingredient in salves and healing potions!"Magicules?" I wondered. I've never heard of anything like that before. Magicules! A special energetic material found in all-"Can't you talk like a normal person!" I shouted, the complex words going in one ear and out of another. Magicules are the building blocks of life in all magical beings!
So people are made up of Magicules huh. Makes sense. And if this place is rich in Magicules than there's no surprise that this place is Hipokute heaven! And if those plants are filled with Magicules I wonder if everything else is! Time to start eating! "Actually, if those herbs are used in healing potions, does that mean I can stack them away for emergencies inside my stomach?" I heard two dings followed by an Affirmative! Awesome!
And so I spend ages gobbling up Hipokute herbs and, after an analyzation, made them into healing potions right in my stomach. I was pretty sure they would come in handy one day but I wasn't doing this for a just-in-case. I was just attempting to fight off my boredom.
Jumping onto a rock I sighed a nonexistent breath and thought to myself. "I thought those plants were worthless 'till I analyzed them. I wonder if anything else is like that?" Looking down with nonexistent eyes I asked Lily. "What are these rocks I'm sitting on?"Magistone ore! Minerals that spend long periods of time in Magicule-rich areas take in Magicules and become Magistone ore! It's considered valuable!
Seriously! That's insane! I began eating every Magistone in sight, all the Hipokute herbs and gained a surprise after accidentally jumping into a lake. It was an incredible shock to find out my slimy new body couldn't swim. I begun panicking, thinking I was going to drown before realizing I don't breathe anymore so I couldn't drown. Sighing in relief I tried to find a way out of this body of water.
Looking around I noticed a few fish swimming by moving the water behind them back and forwards generating a small current. I tried to do the same thing but it didn't work with my slime body as it couldn't change into anything.
Watching the water around me for a few moments brought up a memory of Dudley playing in a portable swimming pool. He was using his Super Soaker to send a stream of pressurized water at my head from under the water.
Deciding to act like the Super Soaker I drank a lot of water, almost tripling my size before squirting it out and bursting out of the lake, skipping on the surface like a smooth stone. Skill: "Water Pressure Propulsion" acquired!
Speeding towards the small stone beach connected to the lake I came to a sudden realization: how do stop? Coming closer and closer to the hard surface at a rapid place I begun to scream in fear. I can't drown by I could still feel pain!
"Ahhhhhh!" I screamed, sliding off of the small beach into the air and hitting an unseen, hard yet surface. Bouncing off I rolled a few times on the ground before turning around to see what I hit. That was before I noticed a dent in my head.
"Huh? I know I have a dent but why doesn't it hurt?" I asked myself not expecting an answer. Lily answered anyway. Answer! Because you possess the "Pain Nullification" skill you do not feel pain! Notice! The amount of damage you have sustained is 10%! Species Skill: "Self-Regeneration" has been activated!
So I can take damage, I just won't know how much I've taken because I no longer feel pain? "Huh?" I squeaked out, feeling the dent get filled with slime before fixing itself. It was a very strange experience.
"You there." A dark and powerful voice spoke out. "Can you hear me, small one?" It asked.
"Wha...?" I very intelligently sent back.
"I said, "Can you hear me, small one?" It repeated. I gasped in shock, not knowing where the voice is coming from. Despite saying I could see, I actually can't. It's more of I can sense my surroundings and my brain turns those sensed surroundings into pictures within my head. "Hey!" It angrily shouted at me. "It's rude to just ignore me."
Wait...IS THIS SCARY VOICE TALKING TO ME?! I DON'T KNOW HOW TO SPEAK?! I was seriously freaking out. "You had best answer me." Ha, easier said than done, I don't even have a mouth. "Hey!"
Getting fed up I responded with my mind. "Hey! Stop shouting baldy!" As you can tell, I'm a genius at insulting those who can kill me easily.
"Oh-ho-ho." It responded. "You dare call me "baldy"?" Its voice took on a menacing tone. "Your rather bold for a slime!" If this thing can see me, it can probably see in the dark... and can squash my by mistake. It then bellows a mighty roar, sending waves of wind all around the cave and at me. Thankfully my body somehow doesn't move.
"I was trying to be hospitable, seeing it's been awhile since my last visitor." It's voice begun calming down leading me into a false security, I think it's called, before taking the most menacing tone yet. "But perhaps you have a death wish!"Desperate to keep the monstrous thing from killing me, I tried to bargain. "Hey, mr evil-sounding-monster, I'm really sorry! I didn't know you could read my mind! And I don't have eyes or a mouth so I literally am in the dark!"
It begun laughing to my confusion. "I thought you were brave to call me baldy after seeing me, but it turns out you are blind." It spoke to me. I mean, I'm not official genius, but I'm pretty sure I told the thing I was blind. Why is he informing me of my own condition?
"Fine. I shall bestow sight upon you." It roars dramatically. I was so confused. Why was this evil sounding thing being nice to me. Is this like a deal with a devil sort of thing, where in exchange for sight I have to be his servant or something? Before I could ponder my own thoughts, the thing spoke again. "However, there are a few small conditions. What says you?"
"Sure." I agreed. "As long as the conditions are fair."
It replied. "They are simple." It begun, still being dramatic. "You must promise not to fear me when you gain the ability to see." I thought it was fair and just as I was about to agree again, it continued. "And I'd like for you to come and visit again sometime." Now I was confused. "That's all. Are those terms agreeable to you?"
"Umm... is that it?" I asked wearily. This thing sounded so evil, that it would settle for something so mediocre in return for giving me sight seemed strange.
"Yes. You see, small one, I was sealed in this cave 300 years ago. Ever since then, I've had nothing to do other than be exceptionally bored." That sounded... actually, that sounded correct. Something this evil would certainly need to be sealed away for the safety of the innocent. I may be eight years old but I was definitely older than that mentally. One doesn't stay young in a home of abuse after all. "So do we have a deal?"
"I am curious about the whole sealed thing, but whatever--you got a deal!" I exclaimed excitedly, ecstatic about regaining my sight.
"Excellent. There is a skill called "Magic Sense". Can you use it?" "Magic sense" huh... I've never heard of that before so I guess I've got to break the bad news to the thing. "Sorry, I've never heard of it before."
The thing explained. "It allows you to sense the Magicules around you." Sensing Magicules... hmm... if I could detect those Magicules, would I be able to see? "All right, I'll give it a shot."
I begun to focus, focus on the Magicules. I think a slime has a natural ability for sensing Magicules as I'm finding it surprisingly easy. A mirage of colors, a rainbow of bright, tiny balls of colored light appeared around me.
Extra Skill: "Magic Sense" acquired! Oh so that's "Magic Sense"... wait, Extra Skill? Answer! Skills with power and efficiency, which are highly than those of normal skills!
"That sounds awesome!" I said. Would you like to use "Magic Sense"? Lily asked. I responded with a quick yes.
The world around me came into focus, not just black and white still images, into bright and dim colors, gemstones glowing all the colors of the rainbow, dark gray cave walls, bright green herbs with white petals. It was incredible.
I couldn't help myself and began jumping around screaming, "I can see, I can see!" Hopping over to the small lake I took a look at my reflection. I am a bright red slime... huh I thought slimes were supposed to be blue? They are in Dudley's games. So why am I red?
"How did it go?" I responded excitedly, finally able to see. "Great! Thank you so much for helping me-e-e..." I was finally able to see the thing. And I was terrified.
It-no he was a dragon. A large dragon, larger than most of the cave walls, was sitting inside a glowing bubble. He was covered in scales that gleamed like black steel, and grey fish-like-one. His wings were massive bat-like with a ginormous white claw on each tip. He had a collar of scales around his neck and glowing yellow eyes staring down at me.
I squealed it in shock. "You're a dragon!" Be beckoned me forwards with one of his clawed fingers. Nervously, I obliged. His head bent down allowing me to see more of his face. His tears popped over his mouth, he had red scaring around his eyes and two long, slightly curled horns jutting out from the back of his head.
"Allow me to formally introduce myself." He said in an less evil but still dark voice. "I am Veldora. The Storm Dragon." Veldora introduced himself to me. I was still terrified but less so. Who could be scared of a dragon sitting in a bubble. "I am one of four True Dragons that exist in this world." He began laughing, increasing in volume till the very earth felt like it was shaking. I was much move scared now.
"Hey!" Veldora roared. "Don't forget our deal, slime!" I begun stammering about never forgetting something so important and that I'm not scared of him. During my stammering his eyes narrowed. "Hold it!" In my shock I screamed. "Slimes are normally low-ranked monsters that do not think. Yet you seem intelligent. Are you Unique?" Veldora asked me.
Like with the magic sense, I tell Veldora I have no idea what being Unique means. So he helpfully explained. "It refers to a being with extraordinary abilities.""My abilities certainly seem extraordinary so I may be but I've never met another slime before so I don't know." I tried to explain. I could just tell him I was from another world. I mean, who would believe me.
Veldora begun speaking again. "I do believe you are a Unique slime. After all, I've never seen a red slime before." Oh great, even a dragon thinks I'm a freak. "Actually, I think I heard a legend about a red slime..." I was surprised and a little hopeful, hoping that he knew just why I was red. "I don't remember it."
If I could I would've face-planted the floor. Of course the first intelligent being I meet would know about red slimes only to forget. Oh well, I should've expected this. If a red slime was a Unique Monster than it would have a legend. And any legend, especially ones people don't pay attention to, can be easily forgotten.
"Hmm... the skill "Water Pressure Propulsion" you demonstrated earlier is a skill that no slime has even had. You are clearly Unique." Veldora said to me.
So red slimes are Unique and the skill I used is something no other slime has had before. I guess I am Unique. I mean, I also have Lily and I doubt any slime has something like that, especially if they are too dumb too even think.
"Hey Veldora! I think I'm going to look for the legend of red slimes!" I shouted at him. To my surprise, he seemed to curl into himself before pouting in his bubble. "What's this? You're leaving so soon?"
He's a dragon and he's pouting! "Well... I guess I could stay a little longer. I mean, there's no rush or anything." That seemed to please Veldora as he shot right up and roared. "Excellent! Please stay as long as you like!"After sighing my nonexistent breath, I asked Veldora a question that had been bothering me. "Hey, didn'tyou mention something earlier about how you were sealed it this cave, Veldora?""Yes! It's a great story." He seemed to do whatever possible in order to make me stay. "It was 300 years ago. I sort of accidentally burned down an entire town.""Doesn't sound accidental." I interjected.
He continued. "So of course, someone came looking to slay me. It's possible that I underestimated my opponent a bit." I sweat-dropped at that. "After about halfway during the battle I started using my full strength." His voice started shaking the cave around us. "Yet I still lost somehow!"
"Really? Because you look very strong." I complemented. And it was true; Veldora did say he is one of four true dragons so he must be strong. "Was youropponent that powerful?"
Yes, extremely powerful. The humans called her a hero with divine protection." He seemed oddly proud at that, maybe because it took such a strong hero to seal him away?
"A blessed hero?" I asked. Sounds like something out of a video game.
"Using her Unique Skill: "Absolute Severance"she overpowered me in battle. And then sealed me away using "Unlimited Imprisonment"." He almost started crying.
"So is that shiny bubble her "Unlimited Imprisonment" skill?" I asked in deep thought.
"Yes." Well that was good, I may be abl- "Also, you should know the hero referred to herself as something called a "Summon"." Ok so what was a summon. My expression must've said it all as Veldora explained. "It requires more than 30 mages preforming a ritual that lasts several days to bring someone here."
This is like a game! Wizards and sages usually summon familiars too fight with the-"Bring someone here? You mean the summons come from another world?" I asked confused. Does this mean others from Britain are also here?
"They are called Otherworlders. People and heroes who have been brought to this realm from another. Most are summoned here though others come her themselves or are reincarnated, which few can live through." Veldora explained to me. So others are brought here from other worlds. And some can be reincarnated. Maybe there is someone else out there who is also a reincarnated monster like me.
"So why are people summoned?" I questioned. Maybe people wanted friends but couldn't make them and resorted to summoning.
"The summon is expected to preform as a powerful weapon." Veldora somehow said with a straight face. My mind went blank. Despite how my previous life was like, I knew that most people weren't evil or bad, so hearing about slavery was incredibly shocking.
"A weapon..." I weakly mewed.
Veldora just nodded. "Yes, a weapon. They used magic to carve a curse into the summon's soul. That way they can never defy their master." So this world have both ups and downs.
"Why would they do that! It's so messed up!" I shouted. Veldora looked confused. "Is it?" I froze, completely forgetting that Veldora isn't from my world before he continued. "I'm not sure what your home was like, but in this continent, the only thing that matters is survival of the fittest."
So that's how this world works... interesting. "So Veldora, you've been stuck in this cave for 300 years all alone right?"
"That is correct. I am so incredibly bored." Veldora whined taking a defeated pose.
Being alone for 300 years must be horrible... I've got it! "Hey, what if we became friends?" I exclaimed to the trapped dragon.
He apparently didn't like that. "Are you serious?Me, the mighty Storm Dragon, Veldora, become frieNDS WITH A LOWLY SLIME?!" He roared.
I was terrified. "Yeah your right, what a stupid idea!"
He immediately butted in. "Now, hold on. I never said that I didn't want to."
I was cautious. Does this mean you want to?""I suppose I could make an exception. Just this once I'd be willing to consider it." Playing hard to get. Really? You're a massive dragon, who wouldn't want to be your friend.
Well, if we are friends, let's shake on it." I said holding out a piece of slime. He touched his claw to it and a golden glow erupted around us.
"So, what are we gonna do?" I asked. "About the "Unlimited Imprisonment" thing?" Veldora looked confused. "Now that we're buddies I feel bad that you've been trapped here for 300 years."
"I'm willing to listen to any ideas you have. As it stands now, I probably have 100 years or so till my Magicules completely run out." Veldora looked sheepishly at me. "My Magicules have been leaking out of me." That definitely explains why this place is filled with Magicules. And why such valuable herbs and rare ore grows here.
"What happens when you run out?" I wondered. I think that death would follow running out of Magicules but I'm not sure.
"Nothing really." Veldora nonchalantly said. "I'll probably just die." That's rough, 300 years of complete solitude followed by death.
"Hmm... I've got an idea." I said while hopping to the bubble. "Lily, use "Predator" on the "Unlimited Imprisonment". I touched the "Unlimited Imprisonment" and a wave of magic came out of my tendril. It went a few feet before shattering with Lily saying, The attempt has failed. Should've realized it wouldn't be so easy.
Veldora looked defeated. "It's hopeless." I also sighed before saying to the Storm Dragon, "isn't there anything we could do?" Lily answered. Examining possibilities!Veldora didn't like that.
"Hey! It's rude to ignore me just to talk to your own skill!" He yelled at me. I just think he was jealous.
Survey complete! Possibilities include... and as she was talking I was thinking about every possibility, trying to see which one would work.
"So here is what I've, or rather, my skill has come up with: we have to analyze the "Unlimited Imprisonment" from both sides, then we might be able to remove it."
Veldora had a look of realisation on his face. "Oh. Hold on, I can't analyze it from my side. The hero also sealed my skills, so I won't be much help." That's convenient. "What about giving me the data? I should be able to analyze it from my side with your data." I rationalized.
Veldora seemed to like the idea but asked me. "Will you be ok waiting all that time as this will take a while?" I was happy he was thinking about me. "Not that I care or anything." And he has gone back into a jerk. Not surprising if I'm being honest.
"Don't worry Veldora." I said trying to reassure the dragon. "I know just what to do!""Oh?" The dragon questioned.
"Yeah, I'm going to eat you with my "Predator" skill." This was my plan. I'll admit, it wasn't very good but it would work. While Veldora scans the "Unlimited Imprisonment" I could continue with my life in this new world. It would also mean that no one could interrupt him or interfere with the analyzation.
The Storm Dragon looked at me with a hard glint in his eyes. "Very well. If this is the best plan than I believe we could Name each other." At my confused expression he explained. I should probably buy a book or something to know more about this world. "Naming a monster is incredible important. When a monster is granted a name, they gain much more power than before, some even evolving into stronger monsters with more power." That was incredible. So by gaining a name I could become stronger. Sign me up.
I asked Veldora a question about the naming as I still didn't know what was needed in this world to increase power. "So, Veldora, how do I get a name?"
"I'll name you little slime. In return, for I already have a name, you can give me a family name." Veldora told me. That felt fair. He would give me a name in exchange for a family name.
"Ok, so what is my name?" I asked excitedly at the thought of gaining a new name. It wasn't that Harry Potter is a bad name, just a lot of pain and torture is associated with said name.
"I will name you..." he really likes those dramatic pauses. "Rimaru... yes. Hence forth, you shall be known as the slime Rimaru!" Veldora roared to the heavens. Once I was named a golden aura surrounded me, power began filling my very being. I was now Rimaru.
"Ok, and I shall call you..." I don't mean for the dramatic pause but I truly have no idea what name would suit a dragon. Nonetheless a Storm Dragon. Wait... Storm Dragon... maybe I could use that. Hmm... storms can also be tempests, hurricanes, typhoons oh I like that. "Veldora Typhoon: The Storm Dragon!" I shouted to the high heavens.
I could see Veldora contemplate his new name, rolling it on his tongue, saying it with his name, even joining his new family name with other names, I don't know them but I think they are the other True Dragons. "I like it!And if I am Veldora Typhoon, you are Rimaru Typhoon!" I quickly accepted the name, Rimaru Typhoon definitely sounded amazing and awesome.
After accepting our new names, both of our body's began glowing a golden color. I could feel even more power circulate through out my slimy body. It was breathtaking.
Unfortunately, I had to break the silence. "Can I eat you now?" I asked Veldora Typhoon. It was an awkward moment but it needed to be done. This seemed to snap him out of his awe at the golden aura as he shook his head for a few moments.
"Ah. Yes of course." He said. Needing no signal my body began to launch itself at the "Unlimited Imprisonment", wrapping around the entire spell before slowly starting to shrink. I shrunk into myself as Veldora disappeared into my stomach. Would you like to analyze the Unique Skill:"Unlimited Imprisonment"? Lily asked me.
"Yes please." I responded back, being polite as I believe it would help the analyzation.
When the Storm Dragon and the spell were eaten completely I felt a change in the air. It was just a little change but it felt like so humungous pressure on my slimy body had left. It was strange but not unwelcome.
"Now that Veldora is gone, might as well find an exit to this strange cave." I said to myself.
And off I went, devouring any and all herbs, crystals and water. In my stomach I was combining the herbs and water into something called Perfect Healing Potions, and refining the ore into steel.
While moving through a small lake not needing anymore water I gained the skill "Water Movement" which makes my traveling through any body of liquid easier. And after sending a blast of water at a nearby stalagmite I acquired the skill "Water Blade". After gaining both skills, something unique happened.
The acquired skills "Water Pressure Propulsion", "Water Movement" and "Water Blade" have been combined. Lily said to my confusion. I hadn't heard her speak for days so was slightly confused as to what brought her out of her hibernation. She continued. They have evolved into an Extra Skill: "Water Manipulation". Now, not only would water shills be easier to use, the skills would require less water to be efficient.
And not only was I gaining new skills, I also found a new friend. I knew from the moment we met that we would be eternal friends, having each other's back through thick and thin. Just kidding. A gigantic black serpent appeared before me, it was, surprisingly, completely black with a few silver scales running along the sides of the snake in a strange pattern. It's face was just terrifying, with two piercingly white eyes and two literally piercing white fangs.
After a few moments of screaming, I realized this beastie wasn't any scarier than Veldora, not even close to being as scary as the Storm Dragon. It lunged for me but I quickly hopped to the left before sending a water blade at the thing's neck. The blade struck true and beheaded it in one smooth, clean cut.
I was going to hop away and continue my search for an exit, but thought to myself. "If I were to eat the beastie, would I gain it's skills for myself?" I didn't what to do it, but I had no choice. I jumped onto the flailing body and began to eat it, thankful that my new body lacks any taste buds. Before I finished eating I felt some slime move towards the head and, after looking what it was doing, almost stopped. My slime was also absorbing the head, somehow as it wasn't attached to the body or near me.
When I finished with the snake Lily spoke up. Analysis complete! Skills: "Poisonous Breath" and "Sense Heat Source" acquired. And just when I thought Lily was going to stop talking she said. You can now mimic Black Serpent. I can become that thing? Awesome.
"Wait... don't monsters in video games have different skills and move sets to each other?" I realized. At that thought I decided, I would gain all the skill I could in this cave.
My next monster was an armored lizard with a horn and two tendrils under it's chin. Quickly using mimic I was surrounded in a thick, black fog that swirled around me before launching upwards and showing my new form; a Black Serpent. I opened my mouth and sprayed a poisonous fog at the largest heat source available; the lizard.
When the expected retaliation didn't come I quickly changed back and saw the mess I had created. The lizard couldn't fight back as a blob of flesh, poison and melted armor. Not wanting to look anymore I quickly used "Predator" and absorbed the mess into my stomach. Though it was an unpleasant experience, I did gain the skill: "Body Armor" which, when used, creates an organic body armor to protect the body from any blunt force or sharp object. Unfortunately, it doesn't do well with things like gasses.
Continuing forward I came across two new monsters. The first was a giant centipede that had whip-like arms and an armored head. After dicing it up with a few water blades it died and I gained the skill: "Paralysis Breath". The second was a gigantic spider with a black and yellow abdomen and grey, glassy eyes. A plethora of water blades later and I gained the skills: "Sticky Thread" and "Steel Thread".
I couldn't have found the spider at a better time as, once I hopped a few feet away from where I fought said spider, I came across a ravine. I could of easily filled it up with water and swam across but where is the fun in that?
I shot a sticky thread up onto a stalactite, my aim flying true, hitting onto the point before I jumped up and swung my way across. Unfortunately, I misjudged the distance I had to swing and ended up undershooting. On the threat of falling, I quickly shot another thread and swung my way across. Until I get better with distance, I'll hold out on swinging around like a maniac.
Hopping some more in the cave I found my next target. A giant black bat. After aggravating it I shot a sticky web at it, trapping the bat in a large, cave-sized web. Quickly crawling along the web I sent a water blade at the bat's head before eating it. I gained the "Drain" and "Ultrasonic Wave" skills.
A little while later I was swimming along another small lake I had figured out how to speak using the skill: "Ultrasonic Wave". This means I could finally communicate with beings that couldn't talk though my mind. This also, hopefully, means that no one will be able to get into my mind unless I allow them. Unfortunately, in my concentration at speaking I missed a jump and fell down a small waterfall. It took a few weeks, I think, and I made it back to the lake.
After several more long weeks of rolling, swimming and hopping around the cave I finally found it. The exit. At least I hoped so. After all, in this world a gigantic wooden door might be normal in caves.
As I was looking at the door, wondering if I should water blade it open, the door began to open itself. Three human-looking beings appeared in the opening. They seemed to be arguing but I didn't stay around to hear them, the allure of freedom was too powerful to ignore.
Jumping through a luscious, green forest which was just outside the door, I wondered how I could hear the humans arguing. Lily had the answer. The use of "Magic Sense" turns sound waves that carry meaning into comprehensive words!
Huh. That is good to know. This means I can speak and hear any language so long as the words have meaning. Hearing a commotion ahead of me I slowed down. There, in a clearing, was six wolves eating a green body. But, unlike me, they were tearing flesh from bone.
I walked slowly backwards, hoping to not be eaten. Unfortunately, I hit a tree which caused a bird to fly out. Hearing some growling I realized I was caught. Acting fast, and I had to be when six wolves run at me, I shot a web of steel thread cutting through four of the wolves. The end two jumped away before heading back to me. I quickly sent two water blades at the canines' unarmed backs. I ate all of the bodies but didn't gain any skills only the ability to mimic a Dire-wolf and a Goblin.
Continuing on, I found a village. It was a nice looking village with buildings resembling ones I had seen in one of Dudley's anime. They were built Japanese-style I think. Walking through the village I was met by an old man and a young redheaded man.
The redheaded man has a tall, burly build. He has flame-like lightly wavy crimson hair from which two large jet-black horns protruded. He has a pair of iconic tear-like red markings that flow down from the bottom of his eyes over his cheeks. His eyes are incredibly sharp and fierce-looking and has orange-red iris. He wears black clothing with a thick woolen collar, covered by armor, matching his color scheme. He also carried a Japanese-style katana. His skin tone has a reddish tint as a sort of color scheme matching his hair, and his canines are large enough to peek out from his mouth.
The old man, contrary to the physique of his friend, was small and frail-looking with aged silver hair and two white, ivory-like horns protruding from his forehead. His hair is gently wavy and has two bangs dropping from the far side of his horns, and a ponytail tied with a string. He also has pointed ears and has black eye lines on his lower eyelids. His skin had a very subtle silver tint to go with his color scheme - a tint so subtle that it's only noticeable in the right light. His attire consists of an off white robe with thick black outlines, fastened by a pale brown ribbon on his waist. This whole was also covered another similar robe which was kept unfastened. Finally, he wears a thick pale brown scarf that is covering his mouth, a pair of loose white pants, wooden sandals, black fingerless gloves that attached only to his middle finger over the back of his hands, and a plain looking thin Japanese sword.
They are very intimidating.
"Hm." The older one hummed. "It seems, young master, that a slime has wondered into our village." I began sweating, somehow, at the killing intent the older man was letting off.
"So it seems." Was the only reply. Thankfully, it seems I'm safe. After all, slimes are the weakest of all monsters, so who would want to kill me. "Kill it." Apparently the redhead!
The older one vanished into thin air before I sensed something appear next to me, my armor appearing just as I was hit. I looked like a red, dull, spiky ball. To the two's visible surprise, the older one's hidden blade did not pierce my armor, but rather cause an eruption of sparks.
If it wasn't for my "Pain Nullification" skill I have little doubt I wouldn't be screaming in pain. That hit, despite not looking like it did anything, had caused my body to wobble uncontrollably with the armor.
"Hm..." the older one seemed to be forcing Magicules into his blade. "I'll have to hit harder." Was the only thing to come out of his mouth.
I knew the next hit would most likely kill me, so I had to act fast. "Wait!" I shouted. This also surprised them.
The redhead spoke to me. "A slime who can talk?" After a minute of silence, he spoke again. "What are you doing in our village, little slime?"
"Young master." The elder interrupted me as I was about to speak. "You don't need to waste your words on this weak creature."
The 'young master' raised his hand and said. "Peace Sensei, this slime, though his kind are creatures, he is intelligent. This slime, I believe, has evolved somehow."
I waited for my turn to speak with my body armor still active, as a precautionary measure. Seeing the redhead nod to me I began. "Yeah, I'm an intelligent slime. My name is Rimaru Typhoon. It's a pleasure to meet you two." I ended my sentence off with a small bow. It was something else I had seen in the anime.
"I am the leader of this village and this is my sensei. We are ogres." The redhead spoke. At the nameless introduction the two also bowed.
"You don't have names?" I asked. I had completely forgotten that monsters aren't born with names but rather given them by a stronger monster.
"Someone, a masked stranger, did come along to name me, but I turned him down." The leader admitted. "I didn't like his aura."
"What if I name you?" I asked. I had named Veldora, a couple of ogres will not be harder.
The sensei began to chuckle but the leader did not. "You hold no weariness at being unable to name us? Why?"
"Because I'm strong." I replied. The sensei was still chuckling but the redhead, who was unfazed by my comment earlier, began to smile.
"Very well." The leader said. The sensei stopped chuckling in favor of looking shocked at his pupil's decision. When he made to question his leader, said leader continued. "If you can name both of us, we will do three favors for you. If you cannot, however, my sensei is allowed to kill you." The sensei began emitting a dark aura. "Do we have a deal?"
I agreed confidently.
We were in the leader's own house, the largest by a tiny bit, all sitting on pillows. I looked at the redheaded leader. How can I name him? Let's see... he is a leader, has red hair, is a demon in folklore... "How about... Rubrum Daemonium for the leader. It means Red Demon." The leader, Rudrum, glowed golden before it faded and he looked slightly less demon-like.
For the old man... he is a teacher... is old... and is also a demon in folklore. Of course, "How about Vetus Daemonium. It means Old Demon." The sensei, Vetus, also glowed golden before it faded and he too looked less demon-like.
The two shared a look of shock, clearly not expecting me to stay true to my word. "So now you two owe me three favors?" At the worried looks I quickly gave my reasons and tried to ease their worries.
"My first favor is, that I'm allowed to live here. I don't want to rule your village or anything, just live somewhere nice. I can also work so I won't be a burden." They looked surprised and much less worried. "My second favor is, Vetus, I ask that you train me to use a sword. Having another means to defend myself could come in handy one day." Vetus looked more confused than worried, but nodded in agreement. "Finally, I would like one of your dead." At the alarmed and angry glares I explained. "I have a skill called "Predator" which allows me to consume anything and learn their skills. Another of my skills is called "Mimicry" which allows me to turn into anything I consume. I won't turn into the body but use it to gain a bipedal form so I can learn more skills."
The explication helped and they quickly agreed. Before doing anything, Rebrum spoke to the air. I was confused till another ogre appeared.
As an Ogre, the ninja has a lean yet muscular figure with a height nearing Rebrum's Ogre form. He has dark skin, dark blue hair and blue eyes.
From his forehead, protrudes a single white horn and a blue eye-shadow on his lower eyelids. His skin also has a bluish tint which makes his look overall grayish. From the corners of his mouth, also peeks two white canines, which further complements the already vicious and angry Ogre appearance.
His hair is straight and of medium length, where his bangs cover his right eye most of the time. His clothing is tight-fitting, possibly due to his fighting style relying on speed and agility.
"Rimaru, can you name him as well?" Rebrum asked. The new ogres eyes widened before returning to their original size.
I thought about it and decided I would. Time to think of a name. This ogre has blue hair... looks like a ninja... and is also a demon in folklore. "Furto Daemonium. It means Stealth Demon."
Furto, like the others, glowed golden, and when it faded his body had a pale skin tone. "Thank you for my name." Furto said. Turning to Rebrum, the stealth demon continued. "What is it you asked me for, my lord?"
"Can you get a Kijin corpse from our burial sight for Rimaru here?" At Rebrum's command Furto disappeared into nothing before returning a few seconds later with a human body flung over his shoulder.
The body was that of a female. She had pink hair cascading down her back, with bright green eyes and soft, bow-shaped pink lips. Her eyes, despite being bright were completely lifeless. Perched on her forehead were two white bone horns that curved upwards. Her body was petite, having small breasts, waist and butt, and completely free of any blemishes found in humans. Her arms were slim along with her hands and legs. Her feet looked normal but had small cat-like claws coming out of the toes along with a bone spike slightly jutting out of the heel.
She was wearing a black full body kimono with light red raindrops embroidered onto it. The sash was the opposite, red with black raindrops falling, matching perfectly with the red drops. On her waist, swung sideways, was a katana-like sword without a hilt.
She was beautiful, if one ignored the extra features. But why did she look human? When I voiced my question, Rubrum answered. "Unlike us, Tokino was given a name. After the name giving, she believed that she was undefeatable. She quickly learned she was not."
The three ogres, who were beginning to look more human, bowed their heads in respect for their fallen ogre. Vetus then explained that, because such a powerful monster had named her, Tokino evolved into a Kijin. They were much more powerful than any ogre could ever be. Due to the evolutionary process, their ogre bodies became more human-like, for some unknown reason, which granted them increased strength, magic, speed and defense.
After asking if they were ok with me eating such a powerful individual, Rebrum only said one thing. "She is the only body we have, due to our war with the Orcs." At my shocked expression, who wouldn't have one at hearing their dead people were going missing, Rubrum elaborated. "From what we have found, the Orcs follow their ruler, a mythical creature known as the Orc Lord. He has the power to provide the "Starved" skill to any Orc underneath him. This, unfortunately has lead to every Orc being able to eat their, and our own, dead solders for food." If possible I would have thrown up.
This certainly explains why they want someone powerful on their side. So, with no hesitation, I swallowed the Kijin and marveled at the power boost I was given. Lily spoke up. Kijin body available for mimic! Warning! Due to unknown reason, for "Kijin" has become unavailable in current form! Recalibrating "Kijin" body! ... ... ... Recalibration successful! "Kijin" body can now be transformed into!
This was followed by the skills acquired from Tokino. Multiple Skills acquired! Unique Skill: "Black Fire" acquired! Unique Skill: "Lightning Generation" acquired! Combination of "Black Fire" and "Lightning Generation" has resulted in the Unique Skill: "Black Lightning"!
Alright! I got a few new skills and a human-like body. I can't wait to test my new skills but I should see what my huma-no Kijin body looks like. Want to use "Mimicry: Kijin"! Lily asked. After telling her "Yes" I was surrounded in a vortex of black smoke. When the vortex dispersed I was in my new body. My hair was still red but my body was a little older, that of a 10 year old, with small featureless breasts and no sexual organs, thankfully. I was wearing a black kimono with small, red slimes decorating the fabric. The sash was red with small, black slimes and a small black ribbon for a sheath of a blade to be held.
What surprised everyone wasn't the changes to the outfit or body, but the two horns of my head. They had moved to the temples and now pointed downward, framing my face. A bone plate had also grown, joining the two horns together. I also had bone , retractable claws in my fingertips and, from what I could fell, toes and my heels.
"So this is what it feels like to be Kijin." I muttered to myself. The ogres were in awe at my technique, probably thinking I would be an exact replica of Tokino not an entirely new being. Just as they were about to talk to me, their mouths had opened in order to talk, or to gape, I didn't know, when another ogre burst in, a fiery inferno appearing behind him.
"Leader! The Orc Army have attacked!" The soldier shouted. His Japanese style armor was in tatters and his sword broken at the hilt.
"What do you mean soldier? The Orcs are pathetic monsters who wouldn't dare attack us?" Vetus snarled, clearly not appreciating a joke, but I could spot beads of sweat making their way down his face. He, clearly, has seen the flames.
"The Orcs have armor, similar to the dwarves and humans, and are somehow coordinated!" The soldier screamed in fear before he was grabbed from behind and his head bitten off. Standing in the doorway was an Orc, a massive pig-like beast with silver armor coated in blood, a similarly coated axe in it's hand. The Orc roared and we readied ourselves for battle.
