Chapter One
I wish the Shikon no Tama never existed...
She held the jewel in her blood-covered hands as the whispered wish left her lips, her body shaking from the pain she was in.
"Are you sure...you were born because of the jewel." A soft voice said, making her turn around to see the Miko who created the jewel in the first place.
"Midoriko..." Kagome whispered. The elder Miko gave her a tired but small smile.
"And I am sure...everyone deserves to be happy. The jewel took so much...and it is an unselfish wish on my part...as I give my life for theirs..." Kagome closed her eyes as she heard the elder Miko give a sigh.
"If you are sure...the wish will be granted...thank you..."The elder Miko held out her hand as the jewel shot out of Kagome's grip and floated in front of her.
"Though...I give you a new adventure for your unselfish wish..." Then Kagome knew no more as a bright light filled her vision.
Kagome blinked as she looked around. She had no clue how she ended up here, she had completed the jewel, a wish made and now she was standing here. Her miko attire was ripped and bloodied from the long battle, and her weapons were still in her bloodstained hands. She was tired and worn out.
So much death and destruction happened...though...none of them would remember it. They would live happy lives as if the jewel never existed...as if she never existed...which was the price she paid.
She was no longer 'alive' to those she loved. Her family and friends would never know who she was, but as long as they were happy, she would deal with the pain. Though, she may never see them again...she was hoping that they lived their lives to the fullest.
Taking a deep breath, she moved her shaky legs to a shaded tree, she was in the middle of a forest. She didn't feel anything evil around and her energy was starting to fade. If she didn't find a place to rest soon, she may just pass out.
She let her back fall against the bark of the tree, she could feel the rough wood against her back as she let her body hit the ground. She set her weapon on the ground next to her, her body sagging in relief.
She closed her eyes and she let her exhaustion overtaker her, not seeing an animal coming closer to her in curiosity and worry.
Her life was about to take a turn, for better or for worse would be for her to decide.

Parker was running as fast as he could through the forest, on the trail of a wild boar to kill for dinner. He felt the wind through his fur as he pushed his body faster but he made himself stop mid-hunt as he smelt blood.
Blood that didn't belong to any of the animals he was hunting.
He didn't recognize the floral scent in the air as he quickly changed directions to follow it. He weaved in and out of the trees as fast as his paws would take him. He stopped when the smell of blood was the most prominent and froze when seeing a figure against a tree.
He cautiously made his way forward, worry flashing through him as he saw it was a woman. Long dark hair flowed around her, but what made him worried was the blood on her and her ripped clothes. His eyes narrowed as he saw the bow and quiver at her size.
'Who are you.' He thought as he shifted forms and tried to gently wake her, but to no avail. He frowned but gently picked her up, making sure to grab her weapons as he did so. It would have been much quicker to be in his other form to get home, but that wouldn't be an option.
He would make his way home and hope this woman wasn't too injured to make the trip there.
