So, I decided to get to work on a new Fairy Tail story, because the Godzilla one just... I fucked up with that one. I may do it again in the future, but not anytime soon. So I got to work on another crossover I wanted to do again, Devil May Cry/Fairy Tail.
Pairing is STRICLY OCxErza by the way.
Disclaimer: I do not own Devil May Cry or Fairy Tail, only the OC.
Walking down an empty street was a seventeen-year-old male teenager. The teen had short white hair in a faux-hawk like style
His attire consisted of red pants with two black belts wrapped around his right thigh, a black, leather belt, black gloves, and high, black boots. He also wore a hooded long coat with Western and Italian features, that was a deep red, almost crimson color. The coat is short-sleeved, with numerous gold-colored studs decorating the shoulders, collar, and chest, with a single zipper on the front. While underneath the coat, he is wearing what appears to be a black long-sleeved shirt, with a red vest with black clasps over it.
This was Drake Redgrave, half-demon who slays demons.
Turning down an alley, Drake went down a set of stairs, arriving at a door at the bottom and entered inside the now revealed bar. The bar was mostly empty, aside from the bartender and three of guys playing a game of poker.
Sitting at the bar, Drake clasped his hands in front of him.
"What'll it be?" Asked the bartender, cleaning a glass.
"Strawberry sundae." Drake answered, with the bartender chuckling as he turned to face him.
"This is a bar, kid, no place for someone like you." Stated the bartender.
"Really? Just trying to sweeten up the air in here, it smells like shit, or more like, blood. And that's fine with me." Said Drake, as the bartender stopped cleaning his glass.
"Cause what I'm interested in, is this rumor I heard. They say that somewhere around here, there's a bar, more like a dive, a place where they'll take someone's life in place of money. Kinda scary." Drake stated, looking over his shoulder when one of the players snickered
"Sorry, forgive me pal." Said the player.
"Royal straight flush, is it? Playing a hand like that could kill a guy." Said Drake, before looking forward, while reaching into his coat, while the player set down his cards and stood up.
"How about, I buy you a round!" He said, walking towards Drake, only to be met with the end of a black handgun pointed at him, before he was shot in the forehead.
The guys body flew back with blood flying out of the bullet hole, but rather than dying, a monster seemed to burst out of his body and charge at Drake.
Ducking under the attack, Drake slid back, just as the other two players also transformed into monsters, as well. Pulling out a second handgun, being white in color, and shot the two monsters three times in their heads, reducing them to bloody paste.
Going to aim at the first monster, Drake gave a small grunt, when it suddenly lunged and bit his arm.
"Not bad, Mr. Royal Flush." Drake stated, dropping the gun in his free hand and held his now free hand out.
Immediately, a large demonic sword fell out of the sky, crashing through a skylight. Grabbing the blade, Drake swung the sword and sliced the monsters ahead off.
The sword was massive with a heavy double-edged blade, notched on both sides near the tip. The grip is plain, but the guard is skeletal, with a skull-design on each side leading to the rib cage from which the blade emerges; on one side of the blade, the skull is that of a human, while the other uses a horned demon skull. Initially, the crossguard is folded in against the ribs, but it extends and the skull transforms into a screaming skull once the sword was awakened by Drake's blood.
This was Rebellion, a sword given to Drake by his father, Sparda. (1)
With the monsters dead, Drake sheathed his sword on his back and holstered his guns. Walking up to the door, Drake paused for a moment, before drawing his sword again and stabbing it through the door, with the bartenders body falling through the window not a moment later.
Pulling his sword out, Drake opened the door, stepping aside, as the boy fell to the ground.
"Next time you open up shop, don't forget to add strawberry sundae's to the menu." Drake said, walking up the stairs.
However, before he reached the top of the stairs, another monster emerged from the bartenders body and lunged at him. Though before it could reach him. Drake spun around with his guns and aimed them at its head.
"Jackpot!" Drake said, smirking as he pulled the trigger.
BANG!
Within the Residential District of Redgrave City, there was a large stand-alone building with a bright red neon sign of the entrance and the silhouette of a woman with guns.
The sign read "Devil May Cry".
The interior is a square-shaped room, resembling a studio, with wooden floor and plaster walls, while having wooden panels on bottom part. Looking from the entrance, there is a set of simple stairs on the left, leading to a landing that spans the entire back wall and acts as a living area. Underneath the landing is a white fridge, a couple of couches and large speakers. On the left side is also a pool table, while on the right side of the room, in the corner, is an antique jukebox, with a set of drums and an electric guitar next to it.
In the back right of the room is a nook with a bar in the corner, another "Devil May Cry" neon sign above it. There were also numerous monster trophies hanging on the wall, along with unique looking weapons.
In the back of the room, was a slightly elevated wooden platform, with two stairs and a carpet. On the platform, was an antique wooden desk and a chair, with a large round and wide column behind it, which acts as a support for the landing above it. On the desk was a picture of a beautiful woman, with long blonde hair, and an old-style rotary phone.
Drake sat behind his desk, after having returned from completing his latest job. He was currently asleep in his chair, a magazine laying over his face. He had been bored from the lack of calls today, so he took a nap.
RING! RING!
Drake's eyes snapped open at the sound of the phone ringing and he threw the magazine off his face, slammed his foot down on the desk to make the phone fly into his hand and he caught it without looking before bringing it to his ear.
"Devil May Cry." Drake aid stifling a yawn as he listened to the client. As the person spoke, Drake's boredom and tiredness slowly faded away into intrigue as the half-demon brought his legs off the table and leaned on it in interest. "That right? Don't worry, I'll handle it. Just give me the location and the money."
Once he got the details, the more important details in his mind, Drake stood and grabbed his coat, sword and guns before he left the building.
"Okay, I've clearly been pranked because there is nothing here!" Drake said as he stood in an alleyway somewhere in Redgrave City where the apparent demon was meant to be, but there was nothing here!
Drake started looking around for anything that involves demonic activoty but Drake always knew when there was a demonic presence around an area, he would sense it and right now he was sensing jack shit.
Suddenly the wind started picking up which caused the demon hunter to frown as it got more intense and harsher, causing Drake's coat to fly. Drake had to cover his eyes when dust picked up before he heard something spark and swirl then he looked to see...
A swirling vortex?
"What the fuuuuuuu..." Drake yelled as he was sucked into the portal that soon closed and the alleyway was silent as if nothing had happened.
Drake's eyes began to slowly flutter open as he groaned in discomfort. Whatever had just happened had certainly put his innards through the wringer, that's for sure.
He placed his hand on his forehead. "Ugh... I feel like my stomach just switched places with my liver."
After a brief moment, Drake's eyes finally adjusted and allowed him to open them completely. Once he did, he struggled to sit up straight, as he had been lying on his back, and began to take in his surroundings. He saw that he was now in a lush, green forest, as opposed to a dirty alleyway.
"What...? A forest...?"
Drake continued to look around, confused by this turn of events. Where was he?
"But how?" he wondered. "I was in Redgrave two seconds ago..."
He got to his feet and looked himself over, seeing he still had everything, including his phone and headphones that were tucked into his coat pocket.
"Okay, better find a nearby town or something and see if I'm still near Redgrave." Drake said to himself with a nod before he walked on North.
"Hargeon?" Drake said with a raised eyebrow as he looked at the sign that said what town this was. "Okay, I don't remember that being anywhere on Earthland."
Drake sighed as he walked into town with his hands in his coat pockets, playing with his iPhone and headphones. Upon walking about, he then noticed a rather large group of girls surrounding this one guy. They keep saying "Salamander! He's here!" He had to admit that he was getting a bit curious of this commotion. He then proceeded to get closer. I was at the back of the crowd of girls when a blonde was slowly walking towards him. All of the women had heart filled eyes, including the blonde.
'Jesus, who did they see, Chris Hemsworth?' Drake thought jokingly with an amused smirk when out of the blue, a pink haired boy with a sleeveless, gold trimmed, black waistcoat that was open and untucked, a thick black wristband on his left wrist. He also sported white knee-length trousers, a scarf around his neck, and had a lot of stuff carried on his back.
"It's me-!" he shouted, but stood shocked that it was the wrong person. Just then, the blonde flinched, though Drake didn't wonder why. "Who the heck are you?" the pink haired boy asked dumbly, shocking this "Salamander". Just then a group of girls were beginning to attack him, saying how rude he was. Salamander then eased them by saying he didn't mean it, to which they returned with heart filled eyes.
Drake then noticed that the blonde from before had a look of animosity. What was admiration turned into bitterness. Drake didn't want to get involve anymore and wanted to just bail. Before so, he saw Salamander giving the pink haired boy an autograph.
"No thanks." He said, which gave him another horrific all-female thrashing. As he was twitching by some garbage bags, the small blue cat with big eyes, a white belly, and a green sac looked back at this "Salamander".
"Guess it wasn't him after all." Said the cat. Drake raised a shocked eyebrow, a talking cat? Well, Drake's messed with demons and other monsters, so awhy is a talking cat so surprising to a guy that's battled demonic monsters? Salamander then snapped his finger and was standing on a tower of pink fire.
"I'm having a little sware at my yacht tonight and you're all invited!" He openly announced before departing, riding the flames to who knows where. The ladies then went away, leaving the cat, the boy, the blonde, and Drake.
"Who the heck was that guy?" the boy wondered. I then decided to walk up to him, and the blonde was doing the same.
"If I knew, I would tell ya." Drake said.
"Uh, thank you for your help." The blonde said, which made the boy wonder what he did.
Awhile after that, the girl took the two guys and cat to a restaurant, where they all dined on the stuff she ordered; although, it was mainly Natsu and Happy who chowed down. Drake eventually learned that the blonde's name was Lucy. She was shocked to see the food get wolf down so fast and sighed.
"Uh, I guess it's my turn for intros then. I'm Drake. Now this is gonna soudn stupid, but can either of you tell me where I am?" Drake asked seriously, causing Lucy and Natsu to look at him in confusion.
"You're in Hargeon." Lucy answered.
"I meant country, land, that stuff." Drake said with a roll of his eyes.
"Fiore, Earthland." Lucy said, giving Drake a concerned look before she looked him over, eyeing Rebellion which Drake had placed beside him at the table. "You don't look like you're from around here."
"Can't say I am." Drake sighed as he sat back. This confirms a small theory... he was in another dimension! Another universe! Another world! One that was not even remotely the same as his own Earth
.Lucy then explained that this "Salamander was using Charm Magic, a magic that was banned for a long time now, which made the ladies fall in love with him. Drake frowned at this but said nothing. Who in the hell invents this stuff?
"I really can't thank you guys enough." Lucy said.
Natsu was stuffing food into his mouth and mumbling out "No problem" with food in his mouth.
"I may not look like it, but I'm a wizard to, though I'm not a member of a guild yet." She then just began to ramble on about Sorcerer's Weekly and hopes that she'll join a very special guild someday. "Oh yeah, you guys came here to find somebody, right?"
"We're looking for Igneel." Happy said while Natsu devoured a pizza.
"Is he a person?" Drake wondered.
"Nah you got it all wrong. He's not a person he's an actual dragon." Natsu explained. Lucy was heavily baffled by this, while Drake just blinked several times in shock. Dragons exist here? After Lucy paid for the food, she made her way out. Natsu and Happy were bowing their heads in respect.
"Thanks for the food!" Natsu said.
"You're embarrassing me!" Lucy exclaimed. "Let's just call it even since you've helped me out." Lucy then departed. Drake had a strange feeling, so he went by instinct and departed as well, grabbing Rebellion and sheathing it across his back.
"See you guys later." Drake said, waving bye to Happy and Natsu. He then walked about town for a little bit and saw that Lucy was sitting on a bench reading Sorcerer's Weekly and saying how she'll one day join Fairy Tail.
Just then Salamander showed up and Drake got out of sight. "What's that, you want to join Fairy Tail?" Salamander asked Lucy. "I just came by and wanted to personally invite you onto my yacht tonight." He said with a charismatic smile, to which Lucy rejected.
"Your Charm Spell won't work on me! I'm aware of its use, so I'm unaffected!" Lucy pointed out. She then turned her back and rejected the invitation.
"You want to join Fairy Tail, don't ya?" he asked. This got Lucy's attention again. He then had on his charismatic smile. "Tell me, have you ever heard of Salamander?"
"Wait, you're telling me you're Fairy Tail's famous Fire wizard. Salamander?!" Lucy demanded.
"That's right, and if you come I'll put in a good word for ya." He said, to which Drake could smell as a lie. Lucy then fell for his trick and she accepted the invitation.
After all of that was settled Lucy was prancing about, satisfied she'll get into Fairy Tail. Once those two were out of sight, Drake came back into view. 'I'll have to keep an eye on this 'Salamander'.' The demon hunter thought with narrowed eyes.
That night, Drake was on the side of the yacht, having jumped onto it before it set sail. There was something going on here and Drake would be damned if he doesn't investigate it, especially if some guy can make women fall for him. He was able to evade detection and he tried to find his way to where Lucy and Salamander were. Once he'd found them, he stayed hidden. He saw how Lucy was able to see through his Sleep Magic that he was trying to use on her.
Just then, his men had all of the women on board had women on their shoulders.
"Wha-What is this?!" Lucy demanded.
Salamander was chuckling, and his charismatic smile had just turned sour. "Welcome aboard." He said. Lucy was then rid of her keys and they were thrown out into the sea. "I had no use for those since Celestial Spirits were contracted to you." Lucy then began to sob.
Just then, Drake sprang into action. He busted down the door he was hiding behind and began cracking his knuckles. "Knock knock." Drake said with a smirk. Natsu then crashed through the roof right by Drake. Natsu wasn't too thrilled with Salamander sullying Fairy Tail's name. "You're just in time for the fun part." Explained Drake. Just then, Natsu was overwhelmed with motion sickness and a sweat drop was on Drake's face. "You've gotta be kidding me." He then turned and saw Happy carry Lucy with his tail and flew off. "Lucy! Happy! Get the keys! I'll take care of them here!"
Lucy was then taken away by Happy who could fly. "Wait, since when did you have wings?!" shouted Lucy.
"Now's not the time!" explained Happy as he flew off with Lucy. Now it was Drake, along with a motion sick Natsu, against a really large number of bad guys.
"This party's getting crazy!" Drake said with a grin as he clenched his fists. "Let's rock!"
He ran and leaped, dropkicking one of the men into his buddies who toppled like they were bowling pins. Drake didn't waste anymore time as he elbowed another in the face without looking then kicked another in the gut before he clobbered one across the face.
Drake then felt something coming and looked to see... a huge wave approaching the boat. "…something tells me that I'm about to get wet." He sighed as the wave swallowed the ship, and Lucy, to shore. The ship was in no condition as it was on its side and destroyed from the wave.
The girls that fell for 'Salamander's' Charm Magic earlier were able to escape and flee, getting away from the hysteria.
Lucy was on shore and right next to Happy, whose head was buried in the sand and he pulled it out.
"Talk about overkill! You didn't need to wash me up ya know!" Lucy snapped.
"Hmph! Just consider yourself lucky that I wasn't aiming for you. Don't bother calling me because I'm on a weekend date with my boyfriend, and he's hot." Aquarius responded before going back to the Celestial World.
Drake was on the side of the ship, looking up at the starry sky. "Geez, talk about a washout." He murmured, also lightening the mood with a pun. He and Natsu finally pulled themselves together. Since they were on shore, Natsu didn't feel sick.
Lucy and Happy looked over at the two that were glaring heavily down on Salamander. Both were pretty irritated. "So", Natsu said, "You say that you're a member of Fairy Tail, huh? Then how come I've never seen your face before?!" Natsu then showed his Fairy Tail mark on his right shoulder. It was no question the symbol of Fairy Tail.
The men were trembling and couldn't move. "B-Bora! That's him! That's the real deal!"
"Don't call be that!" Bora retorted.
Happy then crossed his arms and glared at Bora. "That name, he's Bora the Prominence. He was once a member of the Titan Nose Guild, but was excommunicated for misbehavior and using his magic for malevolence." Happy explained.
"I don't care what you call yourself, but you've masquerade yourself as a Fairy Tail member. DON'T EVER MESS WITH FAIRY TAIL!" Natsu roared in anger. Bora ordered his henchmen to assault, but they were held up by Drake, who sprang into action.
Rebellion was replaced by Yamato, another weapon given to Drake by his father, and he unsheathed the katana before he sent a wave of blue energy out that's truck the feet of the men, sending them flying and crashing. Drake landed and sheathed Yamato. He then watched as Natsu took care of the rest... though maybe he overdid it on the damage part. With all of that said and done, Natsu and Drake met up with Lucy and Happy.
"You did it!" Happy cheered, but was short-lived as the Royal Army was coming.
"It's the Royal Army!" exclaimed Lucy. Natsu then grabbed Lucy's wrist and began running and Happy flew in pursuit. Drake then ran after them.
"Hey, mind if I tag along?" Drake asked while running.
"Sure. Oh and, Lucy. You said you wanted to be a member of Fairy Tail, right?" he answered and asked while running. Lucy couldn't help but smile happily.
The four then proceeded and ran off from the scene and back to Magnolia...
And that was it for this chapter. I hope you liked the start of it. I tried to make Drake's ending up in Fiore believable and the only thing that came to mind was a mystery call and a mystery portal sucking him in. Hey, the Universe works in strange ways. And I decided to have Drake arrive at the very beginning of the anime.
