Why do we exist?
What purpose do any of us serve?
Is there a purpose?
There is no concrete answer.
No answer everyone can agree on.
Many may argue why, some turning to faith, others to science.
While others simply say that there is no reason.
But only a handful of the very fortunate, and very wise, know the truth.
In the beginning, there was only the Void.
It was all consuming, all encompassing.
Void was alone, and it liked it that way.
It had no need for such petty things as existence.
But this was merely temporary.
Void could not contain its own power.
Thus they did explode, burst apart by their own hubris.
From this, existence was reborn.
From this burst, reality fractured in three.
There was Ultra Space, the reality born from Void.
In this reality, chaos reigned supreme.
Embers of energy would collide with one another, forming singularities.
From these, Realspace was born, where life could arise.
And the Ultra Nexus, the abyss where reality stood before.
Even so, Void still remained.
Void had lost all its energy, its long awaited victory torn from its claws.
All that was left was emptiness, a raw, obsessive hunger.
It wandered this new reality, destroying and devouring.
Then it would meet Arkeus.
Arkeus knew not what it was, like a curious newborn.
All Void saw was something to destroy.
When Void attacked, Arkeus fled.
Dueling over a world, Arkeus unleashed judgment upon Void.
The poor world, caught in the crossfire, was destroyed.
In retaliation, Void struck out with Ley Lines.
These Ley Lines were a piece of Void.
As they struck Arkeus, pieces fell from him.
These pieces and the planet fused with the Ley Lines to become the Gods.
As Arkeus fell to the ruined world, Void fled.
Arkeus, ashamed of their reckless destruction, tried to help make a new world.
With the help of the Gods, they would remake the world.
But all was not meant to last.
Dark Matter, a being born from the Ley Lines, threatened the world.
The Gods would engage it in battle, eventually sealing it away.
However, as a last curse, Dark Matter would strike down the sun and moon.
Without these, the planet began to die.
Then came forth a wise automaton.
Seeing the Sun and Moon gone, they cursed the Gods.
They promised they would bring back the light, and make the Gods number none.
Taking the Ley Lines, they stole a soul from the stars and imbued it with power.
Through this, Necrozma, Guiding Light was born.
By Necrozma's hand, light returned to the world.
Necrozma then flew to heaven and joined the other Gods.
In time, Necrozma fell in love with one of the Gods, The Bringer of Life.
The two shared their romance in secret, for Arkeus would not approve.
However, soon, Necrozma was visited by Void, who talked to them through their dreams.
It told Necrozma the truth of this world, that Arkeus brought its ruin.
It demanded that they destroy this world, for it saw reality as flawed.
But Necrozma would refuse, as they still loved this world, as they loved Life.
However, Arkeus, afraid of the truth being revealed, demonized Necrozma.
It would force Life to then help seal Necrozma away in the Nexus, betraying his love.
Soon enough, the Gods would pretend Necrozma never existed.
The wise automaton, infuriated by Necrozma and the Gods, vowed vengeance.
Using the Ley Lines once more, they gathered the spirits which made life.
Thus, The Knight was born.
However, due to the pain of its birth, The Knight would turn on his creator.
In their last moments though, the automaton would put a seal on The Knight.
Due to this seal, there The Knight would stay, buried beneath the earth for centuries.
As the centuries passed, Calamities would come and go, threatening the planet.
Each time a Calamity came, a soul would come from the stars in the shape of a mortal.
These were the Chosen.
Each time, the Chosen would have a Partner who would help them throughout their journey.
With the help of their Partner, the Chosen would save the world from the Calamity.
From stopping the impact of a Comet…
To saving the flow of Time…
To stopping a foe so Bittercold…
To finally freeing Dark Matter of its pain…
The Chosen would prevail each time.
But then, Necrozma returned with their loyal priestess Zero.
Already broken by Life's betrayal, Void's coercion truly drove them mad.
Necrozma planned to take revenge on all those who wronged him.
Zero was his faithful servant, and had corrupted two sages, Magician and Lover.
Necrozma's plan began with regaining their power.
So, they would tear a star from the sky, imbuing their former friend with Dark Matter's soul.
This would become the Morning Star.
The Morning Star would then be found by Strength.
The Morning Star believed that he was also a Chosen, so it tried to recruit Strength.
Strength was at first reluctant, as she did not really like Morning Star.
The two would go on many adventures, helping those who needed help.
They would recruit The Knight, helping placate it and remove its seal.
They would help break Magician and Lover from Zero's control.
They stopped masterminds and crime lords alike.
And as they grew in power, the love between Morning Star and Strength grew as well.
However, soon they had to defeat Necrozma.
They would gather shards of the Sun and Moon hoping they could use it to stop Necrozma.
However, this was all to Necrozma's plan, as they would steal the shards for themselves.
Soon it was revealed that Zero was Strength's mother, and was a star trying to go home.
Believing she could ruin the Gods to return home, Zero tried to rewind time.
However, the three heroes would stop Zero.
Suddenly, Necrozma swooped in and absorbed Zero, fatally backstabbing her.
Soon enough, Necrozma became nearly unstoppable.
The Gods, desperate, did battle with Necrozma and his armies.
But it was already too late.
Necrozma, now controlled by Void, proceeded to absorb the entire world.
From all of the Gods…
To the Ley Lines…
Even Arkeus…
However, with the help of a golden Phoenix and the Moon;
Morning Star, Strength, The Knight, and The Lover escaped into Ultra Space.
There, they would do battle with the controlled Necrozma, now known as Void Necrozma.
Void Necrozma was ruthless and without mercy.
But Morning Star would call out to them, trying to help Necrozma break free.
As the battle raged on, the four would dive deep within Void Necrozma's bowels.
There, they faced off against his evil heart.
There, Morning Star would meet with Necrozma's spirit.
Their spirit was tired, and finally wished to rest.
So they would give Morning Star their power, making them the new Necrozma.
Using this power, Morning Star destroyed Void and recreated the world.
In this new world, without the Ley Lines, the Gods were reduced to normal Pokémon.
With the world safe forevermore, Morning Star would mate with Strength.
The two promised to each other they would love each other as long as the stars shined.
And they all lived happily ever after…
Or so they thought…
