Well, this is a new one even for me.

Guess I got a little tired of all the MLP stuff and felt a need to branch out into my favourite RPG (After D.A.O because lets face it, that game was fucking incredible)

Now to start off with, I will say I was heavily inspired by various Gamer Fics.

But I intend to make this my own, so I will remove some of the stuff that they had, such as the ID Create. I always felt like that made levelling too easy and detracted from the world they were in. Like fighting fucking Satan when in the MLP world. Never made sense.

In any case, here we go. My first ever Gamer Fic, I hope it doesn't disappoint.

Begin!

And So It Begins

I was going to be late. I'd stayed up all night playing that damn game and now I was going to be late for the first damn interview I'd had in months.

'Way to go idiot! Staying up all night at Blackreach because you couldn't find the way out. Great job!'

I crossed the road, not even looking where I going...and paid for it.

A screech, a flash of light, a loud noise and then a huge bang.

Someone was crying, people were shouting, doors were being opened and shut.

It was so…blurry. The sounds, the noise, the feel of the pavement as something wet trickled down my nose. I tried to move but my limbs wouldn't listen to me. All I felt was pain and cold...so cold.

'I'm sorry Cole…'

The noise began to fade, the light dimmed…

And I died.

? Pov

I was standing in an empty black void.

There wasn't any sound, any light, any up or down or left or right. It was nothingness and I was…alone.

[Not true Gamer!]

Someone spoke…and yet not a word was spoken. It was like a I could see the words before me, and yet also hear a genderless voice at the same time.

'What was that?'

[That was me!]

'And who are you…and who am I?'

[I am the Gamer's Voice! A multiversal disembodied creation to each and every Gamer to have ever been chosen, like you! You are currently nobody, but don't worry. That's about to change!]

Whatever this thing was, it sure was cheery. And yet I couldn't really sense any kind of emotion from it. It was real and yet fake…like the smile of a retail worker.

'Wait…Gamer?'

[Correct! You are the 860094874th individual to have been chosen by The One Above to become a Gamer!]

'86009…what the fuck?'

[Indeed, you are a very special person! Now, please choose your destination!]

Before I could so much as think a reply, a big wall of text appeared before me.

[Congratulations on being selected to join the Gamer Program. Please select one of the following worlds. Do take note that this choice is permanent and cannot at any point be undone! Good luck!]

Unlike the Gamer's Voice, this wall of text was simply text. There wasn't any voice, it was just for me to read. And read I did as a multitude of places appeared before me.

[World of choice – Star Wars, Dragon Age, Dragon Prince, Game of Thrones, Elder Scrolls, Hentai World.]

…Wow.

I had no idea what any of these worlds were. Was I supposed to pick base of their name?

[Not to worry Gamer, I have you covered!]

Before I could so much as think, a multitude of images appeared before me.

Men and women swinging weapons made of energy, pushing people with some kind of…force?

Monstrous creatures twisted from the form of man, elf, dwarf and something called Qunari. Fighting a war against them as betrayal came from every corner.

A boy and a female elf holding each other, looking at one another with love as something political raged in the background.

A battle of various factions as they all fought for a throne made of swords.

Various races from human to elf to orc to…upright lizards and cats? Swords, bows, magic…it was like something I'd seen…or maybe played before?

A woman moaning as she was fucked by a tentacle that went right through her arse to her mouth-

NOPE!

[No trouble Gamer! Erasing Hentai World from the list! Now you must pick one, I hope what you glimpsed was enough to help your decision!]

'Not really, but thanks I guess.'

[No problem Gamer!]

Whatever this thing was, it definitely knew over the top sarcasm.

I looked back at the remaining choices and paused for a moment, looking them up and down as I recalled the brief snippets of the world I'd been shown.

Star wars seemed pretty cool, but from the brief snippet it looked almost dull compared to the others.

'If I went to the Star Wars world, would I get that flashy sword thing?'

[That is a choice you yourself make Gamer!]

Ok so if I chose to go there, I could get the flashy sword and telekinesis. Pretty cool I guess.

The Dragon Age world looked really cool…but there something about it that made me second guess choosing it. The feeling of betrayal made me feel sick for some reason. I didn't know why, but there was something…almost like an echo of a memory that didn't feel so happy about dealing with that kind of shit.

So that was out.

The Game of Thrones world felt much the same, in fact it felt even worse. If I had skin or even a body right then, I swear I would have felt something crawling on it.

So that one was out too, leaving the last one.

I remembered the various races I'd seen. The swords, the bows and the magic!

While the previous two worlds made me feel queasy, this one made me feel ecstatic for some reason. Like before, the echo of a memory I'd once possessed called out to me with joy and wonder.

It liked this world. Whoever I was when I had that memory, they liked it.

Maybe I should too?

'I pick Elder Scrolls.'

[Great choice Gamer! Truly you are made of something magnificent!]

'You're hysterical.'

[Thank you Gamer! Now please choose a time period to join!]

Like with the previous choices, multiple words appeared before me.

[Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim!]

[Please take note that like before, the choice you make here is permanent!]

I didn't know anything about any of those words, and unlike before there weren't any images to give me some kind of hint.

'Not gonna give me a clue as to what this means?'

[Sorry Gamer, but The One Above strongly believed that some choices are better left to chance. Good luck!]

'And who is The One Above?'

I think I pissed it off a little because I got nothing back but silence. Sighing inaudibly, I looked back at the words…and suddenly felt a bizarre kind of…twitch.

Skyrim…something about that word brought the earlier sense of elation back.

'Okay, Skyrim it is then.'

[Marvellous choice Gamer!]

'Thank you?'

[No trouble! No please select a name, race and appearance!]

Suddenly a blank faced, life-like mannequin appeared before me. It was shaped feminine and that made me feel…off. Almost as if it knew so, the feminine features shifted to a more masculine appearance.

Okay so what did I want?

'Something muscular but not too muscular, but short hair for sure. In fact lets make it a really short buzz cut and leave it at that. Hmm, what else. A beard is good, but lets make it something like a five o'clock shadow.'

As if responding to my thoughts, the mannequin rapidly changed to mimic them. And in what felt like no time at all, the dummy had gone from blank and boring to what looked like a reasonably attractive man with a hard gaze.

I looked at the ears and remembered the various races I'd seen…and shook off the thought. The male elves all looked like they'd been hit by an ageing ray, while the females all looked like they'd hit their eighteenth birthday and stopped ageing entirely.

[Not every Dark Elf looks that old Gamer! Just the ones you saw. You can make yourself look as old or as young as you wish!]

'Really…well in that case.'

The ears became pointy and the skin darkened to a light grey. The face became slightly angular but retained the youthful appearance I'd wanted for it. Overall it still looked like a very good looking, fit man…elf.

I looked down at the bare crotch and although I had no body, felt like I was smirking as I imagined an above average penis. Watching it pop into existence on my body-to-be was the icing on the cake.

He looked damn good.

'Hang on…' I squinted at the phallus for a moment and smiled as it quickly switched to a circumcised one.

'Okay I'm done with that, now for a name.'

I didn't really know what to pick for a name…until I did. It came from nowhere like all the previous echoes.

'Cole, his…my name will be Cole.'

[Please confirm your choice Gamer!]

'Uh, confirmed?'

[Congratulations! You have successfully created your character. Now please select your primary class!]

[Warrior/Mage/Thief]

I didn't even need to think about it. The moment I'd seen the images of magic I knew what I'd be picking.

'Mage please.'

[You have selected Mage! Now please choose a specialization!]

[Primal Magic/Conjurer/Abjuration/Illusionist]

'Uh, can you tell me what each of these mean please?'

[Of course Gamer!]

[Primal Magic is ability to use the base abilities of Destruction Magic. Fire, Ice and Electricity!]

[Conjurer gives you the ability to summon creatures from another plane to assist you!]

[Abjuration gives you the ability to learn defensive magic to protect you and yours!]

[Illusionist gives you the ability to use magic to fool your opponents or inspire your friends!]

'That was…brief and basic. You can't tell me more?'

[Sorry Gamer! If you wish to learn more, you'll have to level up each class and discover it for yourself. Isn't that more exciting!]

'I guess…'

Looking at the choices and bare bit of information the stupid voice would give me, it was pretty clear cut what I was going to pick.

Primal Magic seemed really powerful. Fire, ice and electricity right from the get-go? I didn't know what I was going into and so having that kind of arsenal sounded really OP.

Conjurer sounded alright as well, but I didn't know what creatures I'd be able to summon to help me. For all I knew, it'd give me the ability to summon a dog that died in two hits. No thank you!

Abjuration actually sounded pretty damn cool. But defensive magic was only good if you had offensive to back it up. So while I'd likely not pick it now, picking it next choice sounded ideal.

Illusionist sounded interesting. The ability to manipulate enemies and friends alike was pretty dope sounding. But again I didn't know what offensive shit it'd give me. So in the end there was really only one choice to make.

'Ok I pick Primal Magic.'

[Great choice Gamer! Here are your skills!]

[Gamer's Mind] (Passive)

Allows the user to view life as a game.

Keeps the user perfectly calm in all situations that would otherwise inspire stress. Also acts as a mental defence.

[Gamer's Body] (Passive)

The user's body is now like that of an RPG Character. Injuries will not be permanent and will heal on their own, though diseases can still be contracted and curses will still have an effect on your physical appearance if it states as such.

[Observe] (Active)

Grants you information about a target, be they person or object.

Level difference can hide information.

[Dark Elf] (Default Race)

A long lived race of people that have come under a lot of recent hardship. The people of Skyrim will often view you with disdain and racism, which has inspired you to become harder to hurt with words.

Description – You are a young fit male Dark Elf who is twenty five years old. You are 6'2 and weigh 196 pounds. You hair is very short and you sport a permanent five o'clock shadow. You have a larger than average dick that you're very proud of. And yes, this will be mentioned anytime you ask for an appearance description. Because you are very proud of your larger than average dick…and only you!

'Please tell me you're joking about the dick thing?'

[Do you wish to change its size to average?]

'What's average?'

[For a Dark Elf, four inches!]

'…no.'

[Then yes! It will be mentioned every time you ask for a description of yourself!]

Choosing to ignore the smirk I was feeling from the damned voice/text thing. I reviewed my character and winced as I took in the tiny amount of health I had.

One hundred health points was absolutely going to suck, I don't know how I knew it. But something just told me that having a health pool that small was going to be rough. Still the high amount of magicka seemed to balance it out.

'Okay I think I'm done'

[Congratulations Gamer! You have successfully created your character! Now before you enter the world of Skyrim. You are given the option to take part in the random power selection!]

'The what?'

[The random power selection allows you to take a risk and pull a random power that a Gamer has used before. Please do note that every power comes with a side effect, some only come with good, some only come with bad. And some come with both, but you may only choose to take part once this time. Another opportunity will come once you have reached level 50 and every 50 levels from then on.]

'So it's a risk and reward thing eh?'

There was a good chance I could get something pretty damn sweet. But there was also a chance I could be given a shitty curse.

'…fuck it, go on then.'

There was a momentary pause and then the sudden feeling of something entering my mind.

[Congratulations Gamer! You have been randomly awarded the power of Body Overwrite!]

[Body Overwrite – A one time use power that allows you to pick any person and completely change their body, personality and implant memories that the world would come to adapt around. For example if you changed someone to become your childhood friend, then those who grew up with you would acknowledge as them as such!]

[Be warned that such a change is irreversible and wording is key. This power will not work on anyone that is higher than 5 levels above you!]

Well that sounded nasty as fuck. To completely change someone into anyone you wanted. In the hands of a spiteful person, this power would be a terrible thing. Still, it could possibly be useful if used against someone truly horrible.

[Note, this power comes with a side effect – Until Death! Once Used, the individual you change cannot leave your side and will remain loyal to you until death!]

Okay that wasn't too bad I guess. If I found someone really twisted, I could get a pretty early bodyguard.

[Note, this power comes with an additional side effect – I Will Be Used! This ability is alive and will randomly attempt to take over any magic you use in order to be activated!]

'Wait what? So even if I don't want to use it, the side effect will take over any magic I use to replace the effect with itself?'

[Correct Gamer! You will receive a brief warning when this happens and can attempt to redirect it to an inanimate object or material, such as a brick wall. This will not consume the power and will give you more time to choose who to use it on, if at all.]

I was already regretting my decision to choose a random power. But it was done and all I could do was move on.

'Well, I guess I'm all set then.'

[Well done on completing Character Creation, Cole! Your choices are now locked in and cannot be changed.]

[Entering the world of Skyrim!]

[Good Luck!]

A bright white light flooded the void…and I was gone.

"Hey, you, you're finally awake!"

And that'll end the first chappy. Not as much as I'd usually do but it's a good start.

Let me know what you think, I always welcome reviews and criticism. Catch ya later!
