"I said leave me alone!"

Pain split her head as her eyes turned purple, her bullies holding their heads as they screamed in horror and pain, and stepped back from her, one of them tripping over a bag and curling into the fetal position as tears rolled down their cheeks. Panic settled in her chest as she pushed herself back into the corner, covering her eyes. She could hear the footsteps rushing up, a teacher yelling to find out what was going on. No, no, no! I've been so good!

"No, please, stay back!" she pleaded, her voice breaking as tears trickled down her cheeks. Please don't do this, everyone will get hurt.

But it's not my fault...it's not..

"Salinsa, what is going on?! Take your hands from your face this instant!"

No...if I do, more people will get hurt…

"Salinsa, now!"

She obediently lowered her hands, watching the teachers who had come up to check on the situation drop like flies. Tears were running down her face, watching as some of the students she had hit with her quirk passed out from lack of oxygen and fell to the floor. Three of them however, regained their autonomy, but reached into their bags. They seemed to have a broken resolve as each one pulled out a pen or some kind of sharp object. One by one, they pointed the tips at their jugulars. Oh god, no, please, I'm so sorry!

"Wait, no!" she cried, leaning forward with a hand out. However her words didn't reach them, each one stabbing themselves in the neck. Disgusting wet noises echoed in her ears, her eyes wide in horror as she watched the blood stream down their uniforms, some droplets spraying as they pulled their pen or pencil of choice out of their throats only to shove them back in. She lets out a squeak of horror as each one falls to the ground right after the other, blood trickling out of their necks and collectively pooling around them.

Screams were echoing throughout the auditorium, students and other teachers trying to get people away from her. She heard them calling her a monster, a villain, a murderer, as they all evacuated. She stared blankly at the crimson blood dripping from their self inflicted wounds, her eyes trailing up to the light slowly leaving their eyes. Her stomach jerked and she felt ready to throw up, stomach bile burning the back of her throat.

I'm a failure. They were right. I'm nothing but a failure of a girl with a broken quirk.

"Get the quirk suppressants!"

The retired Pro who was supposed to be speaking that day, some man in his fifties going by the moniker Galliant, bounded up the steps to her. She tried to cover her eyes again, shaking her head as she tried so hard to turn it off. She wanted to turn this curse of a quirk off, so she couldn't hurt any more people. She didn't want to hurt people; she wanted to help them, make them smile. She felt him grab her shoulders and looked up, seeing the color slowly leave his face as his worst fears played on repeat in his head. His fingers dug into her shoulders, causing her to whimper.

"Turn..it..off..," he pleaded with her, blood vessels bursting in one of his eyes.

"I-I can't!"

Slowly, his hands loosen their grip and he leans to the side, slumping to the ground as she backs away. Horror filled her. I just...I just killed a pro. As she processed that horror, there was a small prick in her neck. Her hand went to it, feeling the small dart that released the quirk suppressant and a sedative into her bloodstream. She could already feel it working, her eyes returning to their normal blue. She dropped to her knees, her body feeling heavy as her eyes rolled up and she fell forward, unconscious.

When she comes to, she's in her little room, laying in her bed with the red comforter. The familiarity brings her relief, as she goes to rub her dry and aching eyes, only to realize she has quirk dampening cuffs digging into her wrists. It slowly comes back to her the atrocities she had committed, against peers and teachers of all people. So it wasn't just a bad nightmare...it actually happened…

"Good evening, Miss Salinsa."

Her skin crawls as she recognizes the voice, tears burning her eyes as the portly man waddles through her door. She catches a glimpse of two men in suits standing just outside it, knowing she was in trouble again and would be punished after this visit. Maybe they didn't call Reina this time...I'd prefer to be yelled at by Keigo.

The door shuts, and she's locked in with him. He looked like a typical doctor, wearing a white coat and grey scrubs underneath. He even had smart looking glasses on, but gave Leinei weird feelings in her stomach each time he came around her. It was the sickening smile he had on his face, the one that said he took joy in torturing children the way he has her.

"I heard you had an incident at school today," he remarks, sitting in her desk chair that he had pulled close to the bed. "Would you like to tell me what happened, before we start?"

"There's no point," she replies weakly. "You're just going to make me relive it anyway."

"Only if you feel guilty about it, dear," he reminds her. "And from what I heard, you have plenty to be guilty for."

I'm guilty of being born. Of being a failure. I'm nothing like Reina and Keigo.

"I think she's ready to attend school again," Reina says, using one hand to smooth out her pencil skirt while gently holding Leinei's shoulder with the other as she looks at Principal Nezu. She always hated dressing this way, but she would rather be here than Keigo, who would have bombed the interview by just walking in. "I'm hoping you'll overlook the incident at Shiketsu, as her grades were some of the highest in her class. And she has since undergone rehabilitation for her outburst and even spent time in a hospital for said outburst."

Nezu nods, shifting through Leinei's transfer paperwork. He noted how she stared at her lap instead of anyone else in the room, the long sleeves under the neatly pressed collared white shirt and leggings under the pleated plaid skirt, despite it being mid spring, almost summer. He hummed to himself then pushed his chair back, sliding down out of it and walking around his desk to her.

"Miss Salinsa," he says, addressing the purple haired girl. "Miss Salinsa, I have to ask you some questions."

She lifts her head a bit, looking at him. He smiled reassuringly at her, which made the bundle of nerves in her stomach loosen a bit. She felt sick enough with everything that had happened.

"Can you tell me for sure, that what happened at your previous school was an accident?" he asks. "Because I will deny the application if you say anything beyond that."

"It was an ac-accident," she says meekly, her voice hollow. "My quirk was activated by accident."

"Can you promise me, if we get you extra training for your quirk control, that you will not allow that kind of carnage here?"

"I promise you."

"Do you promise to push past your limits and go beyond what you believe possible, to be as Plus Ultra as you can possibly be and then some?"

Reina chuckles a bit at the last question, even Leinei cracking a small smile at the wording. She thinks for a moment, rubbing her arms before returning her hands to her lap. Nezu looked at her expectantly, having titled his head.

"I promise," she says finally, nodding her head. "I promise to be the best hero I can be, despite my past."

"Wonderful. I shall finish the paperwork right away, you will start tomorrow in class 1-A with Shouta Aizawa as your homeroom teacher. I hope the Commission will find this satisfactory?" he adds, looking at Reina, who nods and tucks some of her stray ember red hair behind her ear. "Beautiful! Allow me to get you a copy of the curriculum so you can go home and prepare for classes tomorrow. Please do keep in mind the Sports Festival is coming up soon, and I do hope you have enough control over your quirk by then to showcase it."

Reina and Leinei both nod as the small rat-bear-dog humanoid walks back to the drawers of his desk and digs out a curriculum sheet. He brought it back to Leinei and shook her hand.

"Welcome to UA High School, and into the Hero Course."
