Imagine If… Clint Jumped Instead of Natasha?

Hi guys and welcome to Imagine If! I'm Addie and this is my third story so please don't judge too harshly :) Everyone is welcome to check out my other story, Avengers Whumps and to give me ideas for my series! Also, Happy New Year! Enjoy and please review! Also, apologies for not starting sooner! ENDGAME SPOILERS! Also, sorry if this scene is not completely accurate! Aaand sorry it's short. Okay, enough of my rambling :)

Imagine If… Clint Jumped Instead Of Natasha…

The cliff stood before them, a drop which would surely mean death. The pair were confused, why was it there? Surely it had something to do with getting the mind stone? Suddenly, a cloaked figure came up behind the duo who drew their weapons fiercely. "Welcome, Natasha daughter of Ivan. Clint, son of Edith" the figure grinned from under the hood. "Who are you?" Natasha demanded. "Consider me a guide. To you, and to all who seek the Soul Stone" the figure replied. "Oh good. Tell us where it is and then we'll be on our way" Natasha said. "Ah- if only it were that easy" the figure chuckled lightly as he walked towards the cliff. Clint and Natasha shared a glance before following him, weapons still drawn.

"What you seek lies in front of you… as does what you fear" the Stone-keeper recited. "Oh, so the stone is down there" Natasha gulped. "For one of you. For the other… In order to take the stone, you must lose that which you love. An everlasting exchange, a soul for a soul" the Stone-keeper finished before walking away, leaving them to it. The duo glanced at one another before sitting on a nearby log to ponder their fate. Clint kept an eye on the Stone-keeper who was watching them from afar. "How's it going? Jesus...Maybe he's making this shit up." Clint rustled his hair nervously.
"No. I don't think so." Natasha replied, staring straight ahead"
"Why, 'cause he knows your Daddy's name?"
"I didn't. Thanos left here with the stone and without his daughter. It's not a coincidence."
"Yeah."
"Whatever it takes…"
"Whatever it takes."
Natasha stood up and Clint followed, their eyes meeting.
"I-If we don't get that stone, billions of people stay dead." Natasha said simply and her breathing hitched slightly.
"Then I guess we both know who it's gotta be…" Clint sighed, looking down.
"I guess we do."
Clint took Natasha's hand gently and they looked at one another again.
"I'm starting to think we don't mean the same person." Clint frowned.
"For the last five years I've been trying to do one thing: Get to right here. That's all it's been about. Bringing everybody back." Natasha sighed.
"Oh, don't you get all decent on me now."
"What, you think I wanna do it? I'm trying to save your life, you idiot."
"Yeah, well, I don't want you to, because I-; Natasha, you know what I've done. You know what I've become." Clint pleaded silently.
"I don't judge people on their worst mistakes." Natasha replied firmly.
"Maybe you should."
"You didn't."
"You're a pain in my ass, you know that?" Clint smiled sadly and pressed his forehead against hers, eyes closed. Their hands stayed interlocked and Natasha gave his a gentle squeeze which he returned. "Okay. You win." Clint smiled before knocking Natasha to the ground. "Tell my family I love them" a tear slipped down his cheek. He was about to run towards the cliff before Natasha returned the favour by tackling him. "You tell them yourself" she insisted before electrocuting Clint and running towards the cliff. Clint recovered quickly and shot an explosive arrow, knocking her down before dropping his bow and running towards the cliff and jumping…

"No!" Natasha cried out before jumping after him, hooking herself up to a grappling hook and grabbing his hand. "Damn you!" Clint growled. Natasha struggled to lift him up before giving up and simply letting them hang there. "Natasha… Let me go" she heard Clint say. Her lips seemed unable to find words before her tongue unraveled itself. "No.. Please Clint, no!" She begged. "Nat… It's okay." Clint smiled as a tear slipped down his cheek. Their eyes met for a final time before Clint pushed off, breaking Natasha's grip and plummeting to the ground. "NO!" Natasha screamed, warm liquid trickling down her cheeks. As Clint fell, memories flashed through his mind. The two of them, laughing in the Quinjet. Natasha, whacking him on the head to break him from Loki's mind control, the team eating shawarma together… His eyes closed for a final time as the words "I love you" formed on his lips. Then he was gone.

Natasha screamed as he crashed into the ground below, blood immediately pooling beneath him. She watched his lips form words she couldn't decipher before his eyes closed, the ghost of his smile still echoing on his face. Tears trickled down her cheeks before she could stop them as she hauled herself up to the top. When she managed to claw her way up, she collapsed on the ground and sobbed. When she opened her eyes again, she was kneeling in a pool of water. Feeling a slight weight in her hand, she lifted it to reveal the Soul Stone. The thing that had cost her so much, was so little. She punched the ground, water creating ripples as it splattered across the calm lake. Natasha screamed again for her loss as her Quantum suit activated, teleporting her back to the present. Soon, others appeared clutching glowing jewels not unlike her own. Her stone in question was currently clasped in her right hand, a cold remainder of what it had cost her.

"Did we get them all?" Bruce asked, glancing around at the group "You telling me this'll actually work?" Rhodes said. There was a pause as the group realised that someone was missing. Natasha sank to her knees, dreading the question that would come next.

"Nat… where's Clint?"

Ahhh the feels. I loved this scene in endgame :( Anyways, have a great day and I should be updating soon but no promises lol. Sorry it was short! Hopefully, these stories will get longer :)
