Chapter 1
The Hero Student Exchange Program (Arisa's POV)
Hero… a profession that only existed in comics and movies, is now a real-life dream that humanity had ever achieved.
In this world, since the discovery of the first child who emanated lights from his own body, many people around the globe born with unique abilities. Later, these superpower abilities were identified as Quirk, and 80% of humanity in the world were born with Quirks, each as diverse as all the people who have them.
Due to this, many people took on the role of heroes while others used their Quirk to commit evil acts. Crime rose, of course, but many good people in this world took on the mantle to fight crime and protect the peace for the good of societies.
Famous heroes, like All Might, appeared, and many other great heroes followed soon after, one of them being my dad before he retired, married my mom, and had me and my brothers. Of course, these heroes are very inspirational that many youths around the world dreamed to become heroes like them.
And one of those youths is me, Arisa Kawasaki. Here I will tell you how I signed up for a student exchange program in my school and how I ended up enrolling in the most prestigious schools in all of Japan: U.A. High, for 6 months.

It was just another normal day in Los Angeles, California. The sun is shining. The sky is clear. The air is warm. And the birds are singing. Spring is in the air as it was in April. Right now, in my school, known as L.A. Ultra High, it was time for recess as all of us students hung around the hallways, the restrooms, or the cafeteria. As for me, I and my friends, Sadie and Gabriel, are currently at the school's main lobby, browsing the selected cities for the Hero Student Exchange Program. Of course, I was interested in this. Sadie and Gabriel? Not so much.
"Today is the final day to enroll in the Hero Student Exchange Program, to spend a semester abroad in a foreign country. International representatives are waiting to help you sign up." The school principal, Mr. Ironclad, said through the speaker.
"Wow. Look at all the cities we get to choose from. Moscow, Beijing, Paris, Rome, London, Dubai," I said.
"Any idea where you might want to go, Arisa?" Sadie asked.
"I don't know, Sadie. All the cities I get to select are so good that I couldn't choose one. So many to pick and that's a lot of pressure! What if I picked the wrong one?!" I exclaimed in paranoia, fearing the worst.
"Well, I have a city that you'd like," Gabriel said as she showed a pamphlet that features Bangkok, Thailand. "You should try spending a semester in Bangkok."
Arisa pondered as she imagined what would her semester be like in Bangkok, "Bangkok... You know, I've always wanted to visit those popular landmarks there, too. But something tells me that I want to go somewhere that has food besides the spicy ones. Maybe I need to pick a place that has more culture."
"How about Madrid?" Sadie showed a booth that features said city.
Arisa imagined what would it be like in Madrid, "A semester in Spain. Very artistic. But I'm not sure if Madrid's right for me either."
Of course, Sadie, Gabriel, and I tried other cities like Edinburgh, Berlin, even Kuala Lumpur. However, neither of them suited my liking.
"Hmm…" I pondered. "How do I know when I pick a place that I'm not gonna miss out on anything else?"
"Well, how about this?" Saide said as she showed a pamphlet. "Musutafu, Japan. We thought this would be perfect for you since you had Japanese heritage and all that. Plus, this is where U.A. High School is located. You did tell us that your father used to study there when he was your age."
"Oh, yeah." I realized.
"Plus, it's the only booth left in the lobby," Gabriel said and it turns out that he was right since the whole lobby is now empty, with only the three of us and the booth left. "You spent so much time thinking about what city you need to pick that you lost track of time. It is the end of the day, Arisa."
"Okay. Musutafu, Japan it is," I said, finally agreeing and signing up the paper.

Later, in the afternoon, I went back home to tell the news to my parents and my brothers.
"Hey, guys. I'm home," I called out.
"Welcome back, Arisa" I was greeted by my dad, who is watching TV in the living room.
My dad's name is Taichi Kawasaki and his Quirk is Hypnosis. Before he started working as a social worker, he used to be a famous Pro Hero Entrancer.
"Did anything happen at school today?" my mom, Miyuki, asked me from the kitchen. I can tell that she was cooking dinner.
You'd expect her to have a Quirk but you're wrong. She doesn't have any powers like me or my dad.
"Our school had a student exchange program this morning and I planned to participate in it," I spoke.
"That's great. Where are you going, then?" my younger brother (by 3 years) Hiroto asked. Just like my dad and me, he also has a Quirk, which gave him the power over electromagnetic energy (EMP). He got that from our aunt, my mom's sister.
"To Musutafu, Japan," I replied. "I've wanted to visit our old home country, and this would be a big opportunity for me. More."
"A semester in Musutafu sounds interesting. Maybe you'd even study at U.A., just like Dad when he was just a teenager," my other younger brother (by 5 years in my case and 2 years in Hiroto's case), Mitsuru said. He has a Quirk as well, which enables him to 'see' in complete darkness using sonar (Blindsight). He got that from our grandpa, my dad's father.
"Great idea, son," Dad said as he got up and approached me. "You could even make new friends there at U.A. I even heard that All Might is currently working there as a teacher."
"Really?" I asked in anticipation.
"Well, it's settled. Now, go pack your clothes and let's head to the airport after breakfast," Mom finished before I headed upstairs to pack my luggage. I put in my clothes (sleepwear and street clothes) and a set of her much-needed essentials in my trolley bag. Next, I placed my school materials she needs for U.A. in my pink and white shoulder bag.
I can't wait for what's in store for me in Musutafu and U.A. High.
A/N: Hey, it's TGRickel! Sorry that I haven't been doing something here in the past few weeks. Now, listen, this is the first time I'm writing an MHA story. This is about the life of Arisa Kawasaki and Felicia Marvell before, during, and after their days at U.A. High. I own Arisa while johannvanguard owns Felicia. Other OCs belong to their owners, with Kai Uno under NewComer1's property.
