Percy was fighting for his life.
it was not a new occurrence, he had been fighting for his life for the past 2 months since he woke up to find that the gigantes had risen and were trying to awaken Mother Earth, the primordial Gaea, to destroy Olympus and the mortal world. An hour ago they succeeded, because of an unlucky nosebleed on his part, although the seven children of the prophecy and the gods managed to send the gigantes back to Tartarus, and now he and the demigod children of the gods were fighting to save Camp Halfblood from being overrun by the horde of monsters that the fool Octavian had gathered to destroy the Greeks. At this moment, there was a huge rumble, and the earth was shaking so much that many lost their footing that they saw the great form of Mother Earth, with a dress the color of fertile earth, and eyes that were a glowing, grass green, standing atop Halfblood Hill. They saw her angry expression, looking at them with an unholy rage, and suddenly the earth rose up to their necks, wether monster or demigod, and she said, " Enough!" Everyone watched in shock as Gaea sat down, a weary and angry sigh escape her lips, and the monsters in the sunken battlefield were crushed to dust. The mud sank down, and the demigods were released, and the Seven of the prophecy trailed by the rest cautiously walked towards Gaea. she looked each of them in the eye, and said,
"In the past hour that I was fully aware of my being, I have learned that in another dimension of earth, there has appeared an Entity from outer space, granting seeds of power to mortals, and prompting conflict and strife in the planet. Unless stopped, he would destroy all versions of the earth in the ultra dimensional bundle, that includes this earth as well."
Annabeth Chase, daughter of Athena, and Percy's girlfriend said, "What do you mean by other dimension? is there other other versions of the gods there as well?"
"No. Back when we were born from the Primordial Chaos, there was only on version of us in this branch of the multiverse, and we were set to protect it. After millennia, the events with Ouranos, and the rest as you know, we grew complacent. Now there is a new threat to the dimensions and we must rise to take care of it."
"How can we trust you? literally five minutes ago your forces were trying to annihilate us!" Reyna said.
at that moment, Leo atop Festus dive-bombed Mother Earth, intent on grabbing her and carrying her to the skies to kill her, when she swatted them out of the air and Leo fell in the middle of the crowd, and Festus a hundred feet over them.
Everyone was watching with baited breath, ready to start fighting for their lives, when Gaea gave a tired sigh, and said,
"I swear by the river Styx that what I have told you is the truth as I know it. we Primordials will be there to battle with the abomination that is plaguing the multiverse, but I am afraid that the mortal world would perish in the upcoming battle. for that, the demigod children of the gods must help and establish a base on that earth."
after that, Percy said, "Why do we have to do this? Why don't you just take care of it yourselves?"
"For the very reason that you had to find the Master Bolt, and the golden fleece, and save Artemis, and all the quests that you went to. because of the Ancient Laws. because the divine cannot meddle in the mortal world. when the master Bolt was stolen, it was because a mortal stole it, and it became a mortal matter, that Zeus did not try to find it himself. the gigantes did all they did to you without repercussions because they were monsters, and not part of the divine. do you understand now?"
Percy was not happy with the answer, but he understood. Gaea explained that the ancient laws were not made by Zeus, but were made long before the Titans were born. he understood why the gods went to such pains in order to abide by those laws, at the cost of the wellbeing of their children. and he understood the purpose of demigods, to be agents of the divine in the mortal world.
"you have until the spring equinox to get ready. that is the day that we will be going to that dimension. we will be taking thirteen demigods with us, and they will be given the necessary supplies to support themselves for 5 years. you will be learning of this world in the following months to our departure."
In the months following that day, the two camps were brought somewhat closer, as two millennia of enmity does not go away immediately. the Olympians were made aware of the situation, having watched from Olympus, and realized that there is no choice but to answer the call of the Primordials. supplies were gathered, weapons and armor was made, weapons of the best steel that Hephaestus could make, as there were not much monsters on that world. Nectar and Ambrosia was made for them to take with them, medical supplies were gathered, and set on the peak of mount tamalpais, the new Othrys.
The campers were chosen, the seven of the last prophesy, Percy Jackson, Annabeth Chase, Hazel Levesque, Frank Zhang, Piper McLean, Leo Valdez, Jason Grace, and with them Reyna Avila RamÃrez-Arellano, Nico di Angelo, will solace as a healer, and Katie Gardener for terraforming for the aftermath, and Travis and Connor Stoll for covert ops.
The situation was explained, that on that world, in the name of conflict, mortals were with the seeds of power water divided in the groups of "superheroes", those that were the defenders of law and the supporters of the government, those that were called "supervillains", those that broke the law and worked for their own unlawful profit, and those that were "rouges", the ones that didn't conform to either group, and decided to use their powers to make a profit, live their normal lives, and made no trouble. the inhabitants of that world were aware of the multiverse, and had named their world, Earth Bet.
