This story has been in my WIP folder foreeeeeever so I'm very happy to finally release it into the world.
This is a twist on canon I hope you will enjoy… Let's say it right now to avoid trolls later on: this is a hayffie story and it will be Effie centric.
I've finished writing it all so be assured it won't stay a WIP forever but also know going in it's going to be one of the long rides (aren't all Friday stories though)… I hope you like this story as much as I took pleasure – and sometimes pain – writing it. It's the only story of mine I've ever re-written (3 times as it happens) before I found the right path to tell it so… It's pretty special to me.
Updates will be on Fridays for now although I might move it to Sundays in January once I'm done with KTVS E 11.
Anyway… I hope you get on this ride with me because, boy, will it be angsty, hurt-comforty and slow-burny ish.
Enjoy!

Prologue
The woman was born in a world of velvety white.
Her world was a finite thing. Four walls of padded fabric that was oh so soft under her fingertips, a cold hard floor and a ceiling too high to touch.
Her world was a room, she knew that without having much meaning for the word itself.
It was silent in her world.
Sometimes the boy curled up in the corner would weep but it was always quiet sobs that didn't bother her much.
The boy never spoke to her.
The boy never looked at her.
The boy did nothing but sleep and weep.
It made her want to comfort him sometimes, to reach across the divide of the room and hold him.
She never did.
Her world was a finite thing.
She had come into it lying in the corner opposite the boy and she didn't want to upset the fragile balance.
Her world was all she knew.
It was finite, unchanging, constant.
Until the day the mist came.
That was new.
She barely had time to get scared.
Two breaths and she was asleep.
I know it was short but it's just the prologue! A teaaaaser if you will! Hang with me and next week we can discover what is that strange mist... Any theories on what will happen in this story? let me know your thoughts!
