Well it was now before him the final task to becoming the undisputed Pokemon Master on the top of Mt Silver was the current master himself waiting for him. Ash took one final deep breath before entering the mountain his faithful Pikachu ever loyal was on his shoulder with the same determinated face. He had no doubt whatsoever he would make it to the top of the mountain after all he was the champion of 3 regions something not even Lance was able to do. HE had also brought his six most powerful Pokemon with enough potions and revivals to make it through in the unlikely chance his Pokemon were delt serious damage on the journey.

Mt Silver was infamous for the powerful Pokemon that dwelled on it so much so that it was prohibited from the general population and only the strongest of Pokemon trainers were allowed there by the Rangers but as a past winner of the Indigo League,Silver Conference and the WBC as well Current Champion of the Kanto,Johto and Alola leagues Ash was more that qualified to the go up the mountain even if he wasn't challenged by Master Red. The Rangers knew who he was so they didn't bother asking for him for any id heck he was even asked for an autograph by a couple of them.

At 21 he was a living legend the youngest champion in years and the first trainer in over a decade that Red would face in a league battle,of course Red had battled many times of the years as master but not in league battles. He spend his time battling the numerous Pokemon criminal organizations alongside Lance's Gmen but his longest and bitterest enemy had been Team Rocket and it's leader Giovanni.

That was actually how Ash meet him and how Ash knew just how powerful Red truly was the master had not simply rested on past glory if anything he was more powerful than when he assumed the mantle of master long ago. The same time he had abandoned him and his mother.

At first he was hesitant not because he was afraid but because he wanted to spend time with his new wife. They had only been home from their honeymoon in the Orange islands for a day when Master Red had given his challenge through the league office. Of course Ash received his letter personally and before the media knew about it.

"You Need to tell Misty you know" Lance told him.

"Right" Ash said "I will have to ask her and see if she thinks I should accept".

Lance snorted "What do you mean by That? Of course you will accept. I did not lost twice to a man who won't accept that. Don't beat around bush you will accept and Misty will be thrilled for you."

"You are accepting right?" Misty asked her husband in a tone that said there was only one right answer.

"Sure I am Mist but so soon? We just got back from the Orange Islands and I want to spend some more time with you I mean we are still newly weds right?"

"Yeah but the man I married would not turn down this opportunity " she then cupped his face with her hands". "I know you want to be a good husband and it's very sweet but I waited for you for years I can handle a few days at most."

"It's not just that Mist I want you to be there with me like you were at the Indigo pleatu and at the Silver Conference." Misty could not help but smile at the memories. When Ash won the Indigo League he told her that he loved her and she became his girlfriend, after when he defeated Lance to become the Kanto Champion and when he won the Silver Conferance she was on he field with him like in the Orange leagues against Drake. It was after he defeated Lance again to become the champion of Johto making him the champion of 3 leagues that he asked Misty to marry him. She of course accepted and soon after they were married. Misty However had a woman's intuition and know that wasn't bothering her husband and she was of course right like she usually was about him.

It enraged Ash that Red decided right after their honeymoon to challenge him for his crown. To Ash this was not a accident Red had to have known what his own son was doing

"Damn that Red" Ash said to himself when he got word of the message "he knows I'm just back from my honeymoon with Misty and now he gives me this? Is this him trying to get back at me for not inviting him to our wedding? No he isn't that petty but why Now? That was what was now on the Champions mind.

"You're bothered by the timing aren't you?"

Ash sighed he knew better than to argue with her when she was right. "I just don't understand why now Mist? Is he doing this to spite me or mock me? Does he want to separate you and me like he separated himself from my mom and Me? Or-"

"Ash" Misty said to him in a sweet voice. making him turn his attention from his ranting to her.

"You really should forgive Red he may have made a mistake with you and your mom but he was trying to protect you from Team Rocket you know what they would have done to you two if Giovanni knew about you two." "Misty would you accept that? "Ash replied angrily.

"Of course not" she said "but unlike you and your Mom I'm a powerful water pokemon master I'm not as helpless as she was then". "That's the issue Misty I can get wanting to keep us safe but he didn't have to keep my mom in the dark and when I got strong Pokemon and won the Orange league he knew I was strong enough to defend myself ask Jessie James and Meowth." he spat.

"He didn't want anything to do with me Misty even when we battled the Rockets together it was all business".

"Because you wanted it to be that way."Misty thought but outwardly she said "I'm not saying you need to forgive him to battle him Ash but I am saying you want this battle no matter how you might feel about him. This has been your lifetime dream Ash to be the very best and it's in reach now so go for it don't let him stand in your way,be the man I love and married not this coward."

Misty's speech had it's intended effect on him and he smilied at her lovingly this was one of the reasons he feel in love with with. She cut though his bullshit.

"Thanks Misty I needed that." "Good "she said smiling and genlty pulled him down on top of her.

"Now" she said seductive since "you might be gone for a few days let's make the most of our time together now"and with that Husband and Wife showed their love for each other for most of the night.

The next morning after a good breakfast and packing supplies for himself and his Pokemon he got on Charizard and flew towards his desiny.

High on top of MT Silver stood a lone figure looking down on he mortal plains at the foot of his mountain. He had a face that was similar to Ash's with the same black hair, brown eyes and look of determination in his face. While Ash had his mother's warm smile and eyes Red had a hardness in his features from years of battle with the criminal orgizations that cost him his family.

The master sighed now was not the time to think of Ash as his son no matter how much the boy would deny it, he was coming to take the crown Red had held for over 20 years and he was determined to hold it. "I will not give this title to you my son." The master thought to himself "you must take it from me."

A sudden rush filled Red he knew that Ash had just enter the mountain. "If you can not get throught Mt Silver with all your pokemon in battle shape you are not worthy to even face me but I know you will not disappoint me."

With that last thought he went to the exit that was on the top of the mountain to wait for his son and challenger.
