Jaune, Nora, and Ren all knocked on the door of his sister's house. The sounds of chaos filled the air before Terra threw open the door and saw Jaune. "Saph, baby, we got some homeless people at the door" she yells with a smirk.

Jaune rolled his eyes but smiled back as his sister showed up to see what was going on. The sight of her brother in armor and packing a few more pounds of muscle than before shocked her for a moment but she threw her arms around him and shrieked. "Jauneeee I'm so glad to see you, where have you been? What are you doing here, who are these people?" she barraged.

Jaune laughed and returned the embrace before saying. "This is Nora, and this is Ren, they are my teammates from Beacon, we uh, we need a place to stay." he said embarrassed

Saphron realised the homeless joke Terra made and spun around. "Terra Cotta-Arc why would you call him that, he is not homeless"

Terra chuckled and turned around to leave Saphron playfully swatting her ass as she did so. "Come on in" Saphron said

"Thank you but we won't be staying for long, we just need a place to wait for the others" Jaune said as he and his team entered the home. Inside they see the main chair filled with a massive man holding a baby, namely Adrian.

Jaune saw him and froze Nora needed to all but drag him out of the room. "What was that?" she asked worriedly.

"That man, he, he," Jaune stopped and shook his head, his eyes returning to normal "you need to promise not to think I'm crazy?"

"It depends, what's wrong?" Ren asked.

"That man is my guardian angel, he has saved my life several times." Jaune said, looking around the corner and seeing the man in the chair who hadn't seen them yet. "He was there," Jaune stopped for a moment to compose himself. "He was there when my parents died"

Jaune had told Nora and Ren about that night. It was why he got motion sick. His entire family had been in a brutal car crash, and Jaune's mother, father, and all of his sisters but Saphron had been killed.

They only survive because some stranger Jaune had called his guardian angel had ripped the burning car apart to get them out. Then he shielded them from the explosion with his own back.

The man was gone by the time the cops showed up but they were certain he had to have been a hunter. He was the reason that Jaune wanted to be a hunter. Jaune always said that his guardian angel was his idol and he wanted to be like him one day.

"Are you sure?" Nora asked.

"Yeah, I could never forget his face," Jaune said, remembering that night. As well as the other times.

"After that me and Saph were on our own. All we had was each other and the clothes on our back. We tried to make it on our own but one night in vacuo a man he. He was going to rape Saphron."

Jaune stopped for a moment. He had been helpless to protect her then, trying had almost cost him his life. And he hated thinking about it. "Then that man arrived from nowhere and dragged the rapist off into the night".

Nora had to admit the idea of Jaune having a guardian angel made sense, how else would he have made it as far as he had while still being terminally chipper and also dangerously naive.

"He even helped me get to Beacon, it has to be him," Jaune said, turning around and walking over to the man.

"Uhm sir, my name is…"

"Jaune Arc," the deep voiced man responded gracefully, standing up and handing the sleeping baby back to Terra. He placed both of his hands on Jaune's shoulders and said. "You look every bit the man your father was," he said somberly.

"You knew my father" Jaune said looking starry eyed at the man. Nora almost rolled her eyes at the hero worship coming off of Jaune.

"I did, he was a friend of mine" the man said, understanding that Jaune was still surprised that he was even real.

"What is your name sir?" Jaune asked reverently.

"My name is Hector Rapone," he said.

"What are you doing here?" Jaune asked, amazed to actually be meeting this man.

"Well I was in town on business when I bumped into Saphron and Terra, your sister recognized me and somehow I ended up here holding a baby" Hector explained

"Yeah, Saph has that effect on people, I spoke to her once and then the next week I was engaged she just has a way of drawing people in." Terra said, looking at her sleeping baby.

"What are you doing here?" Saphron asked as she came back into the room carrying a tray of sugar cookies.

"We are on a quest to avenge Beacon!" Nora declared, making Jaune and Ren cringe.

"Are you now?" Hector said "well where are you coming from?" he asked.

"Haven, some dude named Watts was there, he tried to kill us and we killed him first." Nora stated proudly.

"Ren, get it ready," Jaune muttered in frustration.

Hector watched as Ren reached into his bag and pulled out what looked to be an air pistol. "Nora, Nora, Nora" Jaune said trying to get her attention before he turned to Ren and nodded.

Pfft,

Thwap!

Nora's eyes went wide and she jumped a little before her shoulders slumped. Turning around she reached for the tranquilizer dart that Ren had shot into her right butt cheek but missed and whined "Reeennnyy, whyyyyy'ddd. You doo thaaaat?" before she crumpled into Ren's chest allowing him to sling her over his shoulders

"Why did you do that?" Saphron asked concerned about the casual sedation of one of Jaune's "friends".

"Nora was oversharing and we needed to stop her somehow, talking to her when she is like that never works, she just ignores us, and trying to fight her is a bad idea. She is stronger than a bear." Jaune explained. "And since we are licensed bounty hunters now"

"You're what?" Saphron yelled.

"Oh yeah, the headmaster of Haven signed off on all of that, me, Nora, Ren, all of team RWBY, we are all now fully licensed bounty hunters" Jaune explained with a smile. In reality Lionheart had signed those with Qrow's scythe at his throat in exchange for not being killed after Oscar saved him from the Grimm orb sent to kill him.

"That's why we have this bag of goodies," Jaune said, holding up the bag of capture gear. "So where is the guest room?"

Terra sighed in amusement and said. "Follow me, and watch where you point that thing"

Ren and Terra headed for the guest room as Jaune looked at Hector again. "I'm sorry for staring sir but I just, I just can't believe that you are real. You are the reason I became a hunter."

Hector looked both awkward and nervous at the same time. "Am I?" he asked as he stood there motionless.

"Yeah you are, I just wanted to tell you that" Jaune said before heading the way Ren carried Nora.

Ren, Nora, and Jaune had been in Argus for a few days now. And Jaune was honestly very proud of Nora. she had only tried to over share twice now. It had been tricky but they still had their training as bounty hunters which in a few parts of Mistral meant that they were able to legally kidnap people.

The first time she was about to start spilling her guts to the first little old lady who was feeding birds.

At the moment Jaune and Ren drove by is Saphron's minivan. The door was thrown open and Ren dragged Nora into the van with a rag soaked in some soporific fluid over her face.

That handled that. The second was much worse. Nora had been about to try and shout their mission out the top floor window of Saph and Terra's house because Terra dared her to.

Anyone outside would have seen Nora throw open the window and lean her entire upper body out of it, take in a deep breath, and then wince before getting sluggish and being dragged back into the window.

Other than that she had been fine. Jaune suspected that she was antsy since they had been living in Saphron's and not out fighting grimm. She also seemed to be calming down and that was good.

Jaune was keeping an eye on Adrian as the boy slept when Nora texted him that RWBY was about to show up and that she was sorry for not telling him sooner. Jaune looked at the clock and saw that it was almost 9 pm and started for the door only to hear Yang violently pound on it waking up Adrain, thankfully Saphron and Terra were out for the night since they had a babysitter.

Jaune picked up the now fussy baby and carried him to the door where he was greeted by RWBY, Qrow, an old woman Jaune saw on the train, and Oscar. "Well get in here you're letting the cold out" Jaune said leading them into the living room still holding Adrian.

When they got inside Jaune noticed that everyone was looking glum. "What's wrong, is everyone okay?" he asked

"You did what?" Jaune asked his tone, making Nora flinch. She had never seen Jaune mad before and she didn't like it now.

Oscar swallowed hard. Ozpin had warned him that Jaune might react badly to the news. But he still held out hope for peace. Mainly because Oscar had never seen Jaune in his early days, the days of noodle arms and vomit boy.

He only knew the Jaune who wore a full set of plate armor and used a greatsword as a hobby from his normal sword and shield. Weapons Oscar had seen cleave clear through several Grimm.

Oscar would never admit it but he frankly looked up to Jaune like the big brother he never had. That made Jaune's hardened eyes and sharpened voice all the scarier to him.

"He's gone," Oscar said to Jaune, praying that it would ease his fear. The look on Jaune's face did not do that.

Jaune left the room and a painful silence fell over everyone as he did. Jaune was putting Adrian back in his crib before returning to the living room. When he did so he walked with an aggressive pace. Before anyone got out of their seats Jaune grabbed Oscar by his collar and slammed him into the wall lifting him several inches off the floor.

"Get back here, now!" He snarled, surprising everyone with the venom that was dripping from his words.

Everyone in the room looked to Ruby for what to do, Ruby looked to Qrow, Qrow looked like he was going to let Jaune do whatever he wanted to Oscar. That or he was spacing out because of how drunk he was.

"He doesn't want to" Oscar weakly muttered, causing Jaune to smash him back into the wall this time his head whacking against it.

When Oscar managed to clear his thoughts he saw Jaune looking at him, no, through him. "How many women have you destroyed like Pyrrha, how many times have you gotten away with it?" Jaune snarled at Ozpin, "you may not want to talk to me, but you can hear me. If you ever hurt any of them again I,WILL, KILL, YOU!" he growled before dropping Oscar and storming out of the house.

Ruby felt a pit form in her stomach as Oscar slowly walked over and sat down. Nobody was willing to break the silence that Jaune left them with.

Then Oscar started to cry, he was trying his damndest to hide it but he was failing. That was the last straw for Ruby, Jaune had every right to be mad but he had no right to take that anger out on Oscar.

Ruby went over to Oscar and sat down with him, the two of them sharing the large chair since they were both too small. She wrapped him in her arms and held him as Oscar shook and sobbed from the pain in his head, from the fear of what Jaune could do to him, and from the dejection of having someone who looked up to threaten to kill you.

She looked to Nora with a face that pleaded for somewhere they could be alone and Nora silently showed her to the guest rooms.

Back in the living room the silence held until a loud voice cleared it's throat and everyone turned to see Hector trying to put Adrain back to sleep.

"What was that all about?" he asked before seeing Qrow and freezing. Qrow did the same and looked at the man for a long moment before going back to blankly staring at the wall.

"We shouldn't talk about it, it was a personal matter," Weiss explained.

Hector nodded in understanding and went to return Adrian when he softly said. "He really is every bit the man his father was."

Ruby and Oscar sat down on the bed in the guest room that Nora showed them to. She wasn't sure what to say but she knew that she had to do something. Ruby knew that Yang and Qrow would be unhappy with what she was about to do but she didn't care.

Ruby maneuvered Oscar beneath the covers and slid in alongside him pulling the boy close. Oscar cried into Ruby's chest as she whispered into his ear. "Jaune doesn't hate you, there are things going on here that you don't know, Ozpin made a choice that got someone Jaune loved killed and Jaune blames himself and Ozpin for it."

Oscar had stopped crying but he was still upset so Ruby reached over and turned off the light before trying to get some sleep.
