Summary: We all know that the flash clones in halo lived normal but crippled lives, some more than others, and would probably die in their early teens. What happened to 117's clone? This is a story of someone who had great ambitions in life but had not the talent to reach it reincarnate as John's clone. Gifted with the Gamer, those ambitions would come to fruition, sooner or later.

Chapter 1:

I died.

My name is not important and the same to me, I was just an average guy that worked to support his hobbies, had almost no social life, and had only one best friend that I had gotten distant to after moving with my parents to save money on rent. My lack of social life degraded my communication skills, combined with the fact that I'm nervous talking to new people going to interviews makes me appear 'what's this guy doing here?' I also haven't studied further and only finished high school.

All I did was play games, read fanfiction and attempt to write a good fanfiction and only keep it offline, not confident that it would get good feedback. My favorites are writing about civilization building of different species or alternate humanity and their technological evolution. I love technology, especially fictional ones... it was too bad in real life I only had basic computer skills for people my age, I sucked at math too.

It's not that I had no ambitions or goals, I very much wanted to study further to be an engineer, scientist, or someone that could bring great change like Bill Gates or other famous people. I was just not smart enough or had the skills no matter how hard I tried.

I died from a sudden heart condition at the age of 25, don't know how I got it but it hurt like a bitch but I saw black not long after. I wasn't a fan of religion but didn't mind it either, and finding out what's on the other side... I never got to find out.

[Welcome to the Gamer, you have been chosen randomly to start a new life. Before you get sent on your way please answer the following.]

[Don't like your previous personality? Alter it by adding traits, can only add 2 and remove 2]

It was pitch black and with only holographic screens in front of me, it took a minute to get out of my shock and accept that yes, this was happening. A list of my traits showed up.

"Remove Pessimistic, Shy. Add Confidence, Optimist." Sue me, I had tried to improve myself but after constant disappointments, I became a negative person, this was my chance to start over.

[The Gamer will be gifted to you once you finish spinning the wheel so you can Reincarnate.]

A Wheel appeared before me, split up in a hundred zones named after games and anime. It seems my destination would be random. I grabbed the side and pulled hard. It spun for a minute before stopping.

[Get ready to be sent to the Halo universe.]

Holy shit! One of my favorite games with my favorite technology. I wasn't a big fan of the first game's gameplay but I liked the story. My go-to game was Ark... but this was dangerous!

[Enjoy your new life and try not to die.]

And then I felt a strong pull and knew no more.

[Elysium City, Eridanus II, 2517, Elysium Hospital]

In another time and place, John's flash clone would have died months after being replaced, spending most of its time bedridden and dying not long after, leaving his friends and parents to grieve not knowing it was a flash clone... not this time. A being known as the Gamemaster activated its ability, changing how his body worked and inserting the new soul, also healing him at the same time.

The way the clones died was organ failure because of bad genes, or so the doctors said. Cloning technology, while advanced, was not perfect. Fully cloned clones don't live very long, however, cloning of singular limbs or organs is much more successful. So it came as a great surprise to the doctor who was assigned to make sure the clone's imperfect results wouldn't be found out and investigated, that the clone stabilized and recovered.

Doctor Cassidy didn't agree with what Doctor Halsey was doing morally but knew it had to be done to deal with the growing Insurrection. It also was cruel to use unstable clones that would die off shortly after or if they were lucky, live to their teens with physical and/or mental disabilities.

She was shocked when the supposedly soon-to-be-dying clone stabilized and got better. Cassidy had been studying cloning for most of her studies and how to improve it, and theorized it might be possible to create stable clones in the future, but as it was forbidden to make full clones this field of study would stagnate. In her private lab, she compared clone John's DNA to John and found it identical... well nearly identical.

It was common knowledge that twins, though identical, have slightly different DNA. That comparison could be used here. After Clone John's condition stabilized his DNA, for all intents and purposes, he was a twin to one John Niel Richards. Though she had an obligation to report this to the UNSC, for once she said screw them. Cassidy had lived and graduated to become a Doctor in biology and only moved to this colony for a peaceful life after serving in the Army for a short while to pay for her studies, she had served as a combat medic as well. Then she got the call to make sure the clone was not discovered as a clone and she would do just that.

The original John may be taken, but this John would live a full life and not even Doctor Halsey would find out. With that, she got to work replacing John's DNA for his records.

John groaned awake and lifted his heavy eyelids. Wait, John? That wasn't his name, but he couldn't remember his old one. Memories of his new life flashed by, all 6 years of it. He was in a hospital bed with futuristic monitoring equipment around, he seemed to be John, the same one with the Spartan number 117... except, if he remembered right John woke up immediately in Spartan boot camp, and he was in a hospital... Could it be? He was John's clone.

[For figuring out who you are +2 INT]

Oh right, he got the Gamer now but the tutorial voice never explained how it worked. 'Status'

Name: John Niel Richards

Lvl.5

Title:

Race: Human(Perfected Clone)

HP: 140 SP: 140

STR: 8 AGI: 6 VIT: 7 INT: 9 WIS: 8 LCK: ? (Physical stat limit to 50 as a human)

If he was in Halo, then he wouldn't be able to push his stats past a certain limit to be within human limits. If that is true then he'll need to master skills to make up for it, ones with Passive bonuses and activities like Martial arts and Masteries. And most of all, he seemed to have no MP.

[For planning smartly +1 WIS]

Now that that was out of the way. 'Menu'

[Stats][Skills][Tech Tree][Perks][Map][Shop][Options]

Skills had the standard Observe and Perks only had Partial Gamer Body and no Gamer's Mind, and the description says pain is realistic and

The shop had just about everything, like the Abyss from the comic, but had no gacha system where coins you get from quests can be spent, thank god. And options had settings like BGM, Fertility, Party settings, menu customization, auto-loot, and POV change.

Seeing enough, for now, he laid back down and observed everything he could, and waited for someone to find that he was awake while he went through his memories. Particularly, John's friends, who are all girls, Parisa, Katrina, and Ellie. Parisa being the closest because of his promise to marry her one day, isn't that a shock?

Seeing as he had time to think, he used it to think about his future. Should he join the war as a soldier or support as a scientist? He always loved the idea of fictional technologies from sci-fi, and though the UNSC are much more advanced than his time, their weapons and FTL are weak against the Covenant and slower.

With the Tech Tier, he could possibly learn how to create Titans from Titanfall, they could turn the tide just a bit and plasma weapons to deplete shields, hell, even a dual plasma/kinetic hybrid. But the war would start when he turns 14, and if he gets to that point how would he get them to use his ideas?

His thoughts were cut off when the door opened and a female doctor entered.

AN: What do you think. A what if someone was reincarnated in Halo with the Gamer, that has a Tech Tier system and no magic. I had this Idea for a while and had to write it down before I forgot. Not sure if I will have time to continue this, so if anyone wants to continue the idea you are free to do that if it interests you.

Thanks for reading.
