Sozin sneered at the air nomads running and trying to put out the fires with their airbending. The soldiers blasted them with fire effectively killing several air nomads.

"Where is the avatar?!" the firelord hissed.

The fire nation soldiers hit several more air nomads. The ones who were alive were shivering in fear at the sight.

"We don't know!" they cried.

An air nomad named Afiko came out of the nursery with the baby avatar in his arms. "Here!"

"Are you nuts!?" the nuns cried.

"Give them what they want and they'll leave you alone."

Afiko gave a firebender soldier the infant. The soldier took hold of the baby and left while the others cornered the nuns and roasted them alive. Once the baby was kidnapped Sozin climbed onto his dragon before taking off. The other dragons followed suit. Some of the soldiers looked back at the flames inside the air temple once they reached a distance.

"What shall we do with the baby Firelord Sozin?" asked one of the soldiers.

"I'm getting up there Tadashi. You should take the reigns and raise him to be a weapon."

Tadashi looked down at the baby. "Yes, your highness."

Once the dragons landed Tadashi went into the royal palace. He bumped into Azulon who gave him a look of curiosity.

"Why are you holding an air nomad child?" the twenty year old asked.

"It's better if we keep the avatar alive. If he dies then we'll have to start the whole search all over again. Besides he can't become a fully realized avatar without airbending. Well, unless he goes into the avatar state that is but other than that he can be useful during the war."

Azulon looked at Sozin then at Tadashi.

"You're going to take my place in a few days anyway Azulon so I'll allow it but on one condition," Sozin said.

"What is it?"

"You must not tell him about his heritage at all. If he finds out it will be a threat to our country. And I mean it."

Tadashi squeezed the infant a bit in a hug. "Don't worry, he's too young to remember anyway."

"Let's hope so."

Sozin glared at the infant before walking off. Tadashi quickly made his way to his room and closed the door behind him. He put the infant on the bed then draped the covers over him.

"I'll name you Aang for your air nomad lineage but your still a fire nation citizen in my eyes."

Aang yawned as he closed his eyes and turned his head. Tadashi turned out the light and walked out as he closed the door.
