Dead to Devilish Demigod
When Perseus woke up in a larger bed than he was used to, next to a beautiful and buxom redhead, he knew things weren't quite right.
In fact, more glaringly so, other than the unfamiliar setting or people, was the fact that he was not dead.
It was a rather weird and morbid thought to have upon waking, but one that was prudent considering his last memory was slaughters an army of monsters, and dying to the last one. Looking back, he was both proud and irritated. Having defeated the lineup that had been against him he was rather proud, but ultimately he failed in the end, and they were mere monsters compared to the Titan in human form he had fought just a few weeks prior.
The battle had been exhilarating, until it wasn't. Perhaps he had allowed himself to relax too much due to his Curse of the Styx, but he had been happily killing the mob monsters, slaughtering hellhounds and the like left and right, such that he ignored all incoming attacks unless they were close to his mortal spot.
Thus, when he finally rounded upon the Nemean Lion, having slaughtered the Minotaur, Chimera, and a Hydra among nearly 1000 other monsters, he was exhausted and eager to finish it up. Unfortunately, his exhaustion from using his powers and fighting for so long, as well as his swollen ego had been his downfall. He did note however, that he had proven Athena wrong, his loyalty had not been his downfall.
In any case, remembering the lion's weak point was his mouth, with the lion being similar to him in that he had invulnerable skin, Perseus had goaded the lion along, beating it physically and with his powers, until he relaxed. His sword had pierced through its gaping maw, through its mouth to its brain and then through its skull, while the lion with its full force, had landed one last blow, crushing his chest with a paw and putting its full dying weight behind it. While it's claws had failed to pierce his skin, the blunt forced had crushed a rub, and successively his heart had been wounded from the force, and that rib piercing it. As such, his triumph was ruined by the fact he was now slowly dying from internal bleeding, and was being crushed by a smelly lion. As the lion crumbled to dust, he had lost the ability to move, unable to grab his last chunk of ambrosia, and was slowly falling unconscious, succumbing to his exhaustion, pain and injuries.
Looking back, considering he had killed the lion through internal injuries, perhaps his death from such should have been expected and thus prevented. But, he was never much one for thinking, and he was clearly not dead, so perhaps it was not much of an issue after all. In fact, if anything, he felt better than he had ever felt before. His body seemed to be filled with divine power, as well as some other type of energy, it most importantly, his physical body was not only perfectly healthy, but much better than before. Although he was only lying down, he could still somehow tell he was much stronger than before. The thought confused him, and would have continued to do so if he hadn't been distracted by the waking beauty.
As the sheet slid off of their naked bodies due to the girls getting up, it was only then that he had the sudden realisation that he too was naked. Blushing, he quickly jolted up and out of bed.
"Who are you? Where am I? What happened to me?"
Unfortunately, his newfound strength was too difficult to control, so not only did he destroy the bed in his movements, but also cracked the floor and subsequently shook the building they were currently in.
While he was flinching form his accidents, the redhead was smirking at him amusedly whilst also drinking in the sight of his naked form appreciatively. Perseus had already been extremely handsome, given the beauty of his mother and the divine blood of his father. This was obvious considering the swathes of girls he had affected albeit almost entirely unknowingly. Aphrodite's own vested interest was surely something, considering she usually forgot about men rather quickly. The last she had been so errant was Adonis, although her pursuit had only recently turned so, most likely due to puberty enhancing his divine blood, and thus not only his powers but also his physique and thus his appearance. In any case, the handsome demigod that he was, had been transformed once more by his devilish reincarnation. His looks had perfected themselves, better than he could have even imagined back on Circe's island. All his blemishes and inadequacies were removed, and his entire body had grown slightly, as well as becoming stronger and more compact. While his features had been slightly immature before, they were known much more defined and intoxicating, his eyes especially so, considering they had become particularly alluring. His eyes truly looked like the sea was contained within them rather than the similar-to-the-sea shown before.
Having calmed himself, and growing uncomfortable with her increasingly lustful stare, Percy cleared his throat, snapping the girl out of her daze.
"Apologies, I was taken aback by your charm, and then I remembered the sight of you fighting those monsters and was further entranced."
Percy blushed and rubbed the back of his head, "Heh, thanks… you are quite beautiful yourself, more so than even some of the goddesses I've seen."
"Goddesses?"
"Yeah. Why are you so surprised? Considering you probably healed me and saw me fighting monsters I summed you were a demigod. Judging by your looks, probably of Aphrodite, though maybe a minor god too."
"Demigod? You're a demigod?"
"Huh!?"
They both sat in silence, with Percy having returned to the bed to sit down and cover himself with the blanket.
"Before we continue, can you pass me my clothes, wherever they are?"
Coughing uncomfortably, the girl blushed, and waved her hand, causing Percy's damaged clothes to appear.
"I can get you some new clothes if you'd like? Though, we would be need img to sometime soon anyway."
"Nah I'm good, I got way more of these at home."
"I see, we'll I believe introductions are in order, and then we can perhaps discuss what happened before and after you nearly died."
"Yeah, that sounds great, though do you mind if we get a bite to eat first. I could really go for a cheeseburger."
With a cheerful laugh, the redhead agreed and soon the two were dressed and walking the halls of the house? Building? In any case, they soon reached a living room of sorts, with a large desk, a few sofas and coffee tables, as well as a shower for whichever reason.
Inside the room were three other people, with each being rather noticeable. The first was raven haired beauty who was even better endowed than his new red-haired friend. Her eyes were an unusual purple, something that immediately revealed her supernatural inheritance, for what mortal had purple eyes? The next one was a blonde youth, who Percy could easily tell was a swordsman, though not very good, at least yet to pose a threat or challenge to him. Thinking this, the hand that had been clenching Riptide inside his Jean pocket loosened slightly. The third and final new appearance, was the silvery-white haired girl, who looked much younger than the rest of those present in the room. Other than her rather expressionless face and hair colour, there was little else noticeable.
The red haired girl he had followed into the room cleared her throat and looked at the blonde boy apologetically, "Kiba, sorry but could you get us some food please? Preferably also some cheeseburgers?"
The boy smiled politely at them before nodding and leaving.
The raven haired girl looked over, a strange glint in her eyes, "My my, President who is this?"
"I was getting to that, Akeno, though if you were patient, we could wait for Kiba to return lest we have to repeat ourselves."
Percy agreed with that. If the guy was getting them food, and more importantly him burgers, he was definitely going to be polite.
The red haired girl paused to think before continuing, "Though, I suppose our personal introductions can suffice while we wait, and a basic explanation of who we are, and why you are here."
"My name is Rias Gremory. I am a Devil. And I am your Master."
"I'm sorry, What!? Devil? Did you just call yourself my master?"
Rias looked a bit sheepish, before nodding and explaining, "I am going to give a rather long and elaborate explanation, so can you please let me finish before asking questions? This should cover most bases for the situation." Seeing Percy nod, she took a deep breath before continuing, "I am a pure-blooded devil of the Noble House of Gremory. We are one of the 72 Pillars created by Lucifer in his uprising against Heaven."
"Shit! God is real!?"
Receiving a glare at his interruption, Percy raised his arms and gestured for her to continue.
"Anyway, now you know the basis of my being a devil, I will explain why it's relevant. In the war against Heaven, we devils suffered much too many casualties, and due to our low fertility rates, it caused a decline in our population. This was worsened severely due to a later civil war in the Underworld due to devil politics. In any case, our population needed an urgent refill, we couldn't otherwise solve. Then, a devil called Ajuka Beezlebub, one of the four Satans who had received his title after the civil war, created something called Evil Pieces. Evil Pieces are chess pieces imbued with the power to not only turn others into devil servants for their masters, but also give a boost and trait depending on which piece it is. The pawn gives a minimal boost, but has the potential to turn into any other piece, thus granting their benefits, much like any pawn would in actual chess when in enemy territory. The Bishop boosts magical abilities, the Knight boosts one agility and speed while each being worth three Pawns. The Rook boosts ones strength and durability, and is worth 5 Pawns. The Queen is of course the strongest piece, worth 9 Pawns and granting each of the previous three pieces abilities.
Each person gifted an Evil Piece is reincarnated as a Devil and servant of the owner of the piece. Together they make a peerage. Akeno here is my Queen, while you and Koneko sitting there are my rooks. You are special, as I Italy the piece failed, but it not only mutated but also drained my demonic energy for some reason in order to turn you. I know it sounds unpleasant being called a servant, but I promise that I, and my family treat our servants with care and affection, treating them as family. I would have preferred your permission before hand, but it was the only way I could save your life. Please, join me as my peerage and family and we will do our best to help and accommodate you."
Percy sat still for a while, trying to absorb the crazy story he had been told, before he slumped in his seat sighing and cursing his fate.
"That's one crazy story. I mean, yeah, being a servant to a devil sounds shitty, but it's not like I haven't been forced to do shit by higher beings before so. Most of all, I'm not dead solely due to you, so I owe you my life and you not only gave me a power boost, but also treated me so sincerely, I'd be an asshole to outright refuse. I'm not the cleverest, but I'm assuming it wouldn't be pretty even if I refused right?"
Rias winced slightly, and nodded, "Yes, stray devils are usually hunted as they tend to degenerate into mindless and bloodthirsty monsters."
Percy brushed a hand through his hair as he exhaled loudly, "Wow, that does not sound pretty. Do I have a risk of that or is it only if I betray you?"
"Only strays in some cases, not all, so you don't have any need to worry about that."
"I'm glad to hear that then. I'm assuming Kiba is also a peerage member of yours, the Knight perhaps?"
"Yes, how did you know?"
"Well I could tell he is some type of swordsman, so I guessed."
Rias gave a chuckle, "Yes, he is a swordsman, especially thanks to his Sacred Gear, though from what I've seen, his swordsmanship is incomparable to yours. Perhaps you could help him with that."
"Well if we are going to be working together, than helping him with his sword is no big deal. What's a Sacred Gear though? And what does being your peerage member entail? Shit! I'm not gonna have to hunt mortals or some shit like that right?"
"No, of course not. Devils are much different now. We eat normal food, and make contracts with humans, where we do them favours and tasks in exchange for something, whether that be money, items, magic, or even their souls. Though the last one is rarely used, we accept more physical compensation these days. Contracts help you grow in power and rank. As a new devil you are considered low class, however, you can be promoted through strength and taking up more contracts. You should only need to do a symbolic few to be able to rank up to middle class. I should point out that mentioning the leader of Heaven would usually pain devils, as would praying, however you seem immune to that. More serious are holy weapons, holy water and light magic. They are extremely deadly so avoid them at all cost. We also have wings as devils and Demonic Energy/Magic, which is a magic entirely based on one's imagination, so it is incredibly powerful and versatile. Yours is surprisingly large and you seem to have two power sources."
"Great, I'm glad I don't have to eat mortals or anything. This is a pretty good deal then being a devil. The holy and light stuff sounds a bit concerning, but I should be good as I'm invulnerable so unless they get inside me, it's not an issue."
"Invulnerable? Then how did you die?"
"Yeah. Wait, I should probably introduce myself too. I am Perseus Jackson, Son of Poseidon. Though, I'd prefer you call me Percy. I'm invulnerable as much like the Achilles, I have the Blessing or Curse of the Styx. However, considering what I'm feeling right now, it is definitely more of a Blessing. My curse has changed, as I can tell my mortal spot has disappeared, and my insides are now protected too, which should prevent another incident like my previous death to reoccur. I'm just glad you reincarnated me before I died rather than after. That would have been extremely nasty to think about. You really saved me there, plus I'm pretty sure you saved yourself too, because if you had stolen me from the underworld, my Uncle and Father would have definely been mad. Maybe not my father though, as I'd be alive rather than dead, but you get my drift. I'm just so happy I can meet my mum again. Shit! My mum! Camp! Fuck, can you lend me a phone?"
Bewildered, Rias handed him a phone before digesting what he had said, particularly, the fact he was a demigod of Poseidon, an extremely powerful god.
"Hey mum, I just wanted to call and let you know I'm okay. There was an incident during my mission adn something popped up. Anyway, I'm not sure when I will get back home or to camp, but I will Iris Message you soon. Love you, bye."
"Hey Chiron, sorry for this but I'm out of drachma so I can't Iris Message you right now. Something happened on my mission to clear out those monsters. There were way more than expected and something happened. I'm okay now though but it's a bit complicated and I should be fine. Once I sort it out I will come back to camp to explain it. Thanks, bye."
Having finished his calls, he turned to find Kiba had returened with a large amount of food. Grinning he sat down and prepared to dig in.
"Let's eat before we continue talking. Thank you, Kiba, for bringing the food here."
The group quickly began eating, with Percy practically inhaling three cheeseburgers and two portions soft chips before he leaned back and began to slowly enjoy his coke.
"So, you didn't get around to explaining, what's gonna happen now that I'm in your peerage?"
"Well, I was hoping you would enroll here at Kuoh Academy and such. As my peerage we would stick together, living, training, and doing contracts."
"Where exactly is here? Kuoh doesn't sound American?"
"We are currently in Kuoh Town, Japan. As a devil, you can speak, read, write and understand every language, so moving here is not an issue. I can also purchase a house here if you'd like, for you and your mother to live in."
"I see…I'd have to convince her first, but considering I have yet to be attacked by a monster, and you are offering me a school to go to, it shouldn't be too difficult. Is there a spell for her to use for languages?"
"Yes, there is. Is she also aware of the supernatural?"
"Well considering my dad's a god and I fight monsters on my days off, yeah she is. Considering your ability to tell me I am now going to school here, do you have a large sway inside the school?"
"Yes, why?"
"It's just, my stepdad is a teacher, so I was hoping if he could teach here, he'd be more willing to come. Is that doable? He's an English teacher if that helps."
Rias smiled, "Of course, that's even easier than helping your mum settle into Kuoh. Well, I'm going to need to do so,e stuff before I can just live here, it is a pretty big deal after all, so could you like get me back to New York, and give me, say a week?"
"If you'd like, I will go with you, and we can sort it out together. It should be quicker that way. My teleportation magic should be helpful in speeding us along."
"Teleportation? That's awesome! That's great, thank you for your help."
"No issues. Would you like to leave now?"
"If you wouldn't mind."
Rias simply grabbed his arm as a red magic circle formed beneath their feet, before they disappeared.
Inside the club room sat three confused devils.
"Did she forget about us?"
"Fufu, she seems pretty interested in our new member."
—-
The pair soon appeared outside Sally Jackson's apartment.
Gulping slightly, Percy knocked on the door. From inside the pair could hear running, before the door swing open and Percy was pulled into a hug by a beautiful brunette.
"Oh Percy, I'm so glad you're okay!"
"Hey mum, I'm fine, sorry I worried you."
"Don't worry, baby, come inside first. Whose your new friend? A girlfriend?"
Percy blushed, as did Rias, while the two followed her. To Rias' surprise, her heart twisted uncomfortably when Percy quickly denied the claim.
"Percy, you look different."
"Huh?"
Getting up quickly, Percy went to the bathroom to see what had changed so much that his mother thought it enough to mention.
"What the fuck!?"
"Language!"
"Sorry mum."
Percy soon sat back down next to Rias with a confused expression.
"I think it's due to what happened, it made you more handsome as an after affect."
"What happened?"
Percy winced, "Mum, this is difficult to explain. I'm going to need you to not get angry, and to not freak out. Also, please let me finish before you start asking me questions."
Taking a deep breath, Sally nodded, allowing Percy to explain.
"The mission Chiron sent me on to clean up some monster remnants was way larger than we thought, and there were some serious a-grade monsters. Long story short is, I nearly died, and Rias here very kindly saved ,y life. As a consequence, I am now a devil, her servant and it would be great if we moved to Japan to live with rias and her servants. She promised us a house and I get to go to a really good school her family owns and runs, so Paul can get a job there too. There is also magic for us to be able to use and understand all languages so there isn't much of a barrier. Mum, I was there for over a day, and there wasn't a whiff of a monster. We could live there normally without worrying about my demigod scent."
Sally sat there stock still.
"You died?"
"No, nearly died. I didn't actually die. Rias did me a favour, not only did she save my life, but she completely gave me a power boost. My Curse of the Styx has no weaknesses now."
"Let me have a moment to take this all in. So you nearly die, get saved by this lovely girl, who turns you into a devil, and tells you to go to Japan to serve her?"
"Yes?"
—
Ultimately, Rias stepped in to better explain the situation and pursuance Sally. Then, they perseusded Paul when he returned home, who was surprisingly quickly on board as after a quick Google, Kuoh Academy was of high repute and the wage and welfare was much better than his current gig. Most importantly, the ease of transition was difficult to deny, considering there were no moving or language barriers that magic couldn't solve. Rias also promised to help Sally meet an international publisher for her books, so she could delve not only into the American market, but also Japans. The mother and son had then called Chiron to briefly explain the family were moving to Japan and so Percy would not be returning to Camp Half-Blood anytime soon.
As such, Percy was now back in what he'd found out to be the OCR club room with his fellow peerage, while his parents were at home settling into their new house.
"So, Rias mentioned a Sacred Gear before, and I didn't really get an explaination. Does anyone mind telling what it is?"
Akeno gave a teasing smile, before sitting next to him and leaning close, pushing her generous bosom into his arm and chest and blowing into his ear lightly.
"Don't worry, Percy, let me teach you."
Kiba and Koneko rolled their eyes at the display, though Kiba noted Akeno was not usually so friendly with males, usually on teasing Rias like blushed, but accepted her help.
"A Sacred Gear is a weapon or artefact granted special or unique capabilities. They were created by God -ouch- to give to humans. They are granted randomly at birth and get recycled after death. They are driven by one's desires and willpower so each one can be unique and vary in strength. Most never awaken, unless under strenuous situations or participation in the supernatural. It can also occur in half-humans, and they remain even if a wielder is reincarnated into a devil like Kiba. He has a Sacred Gear called Sword Birth, which lets him create endless demonic swords with whatever ability he wants."
"Wow, that's a really cool sacred gear. What about you two? Any special abilities or Sacred Gears?"
"I have a very strong affinity with lightning, and magic in general, while Koneko is especially strong in melee even considering her small body and Rook piece."
"Impressive, my cousin is also really good with lightning. It's a really cool power."
So other than go to school, what else do we do? Why was Rias in America anyway?"
"Well we also do contracts and clear out nearby stray devils and other supernatural beasts. In the future, we will likely be more active as Rias hopes to participate in the Rating Games. They are a fighting competition between devil peerages. It's in a special arena that teleports you out so you don't die. It's particularly fun to watch and participate in. It's also helpful for rank promotion, as better performances can prove your worthy of a higher rank."
Percy waved his hand, "I don't really care about status, I gave up godhood let alone some devil title."
The room quietened.
"Godhood?"
"Oh… yeah. Well, my evil grandpa possessed one of my friends turned traitor, and then raised an army of monsters, traitors and evil titans against the gods. I led the demigods against them while the gods fought this huge and power monster Titan. We ended up winning and as a reward, the gods offered me godhood, but it doesn't sound too great and plus I wanted to try and live a normal life, which I get is impossible now considering I'm a devil so the long life, power boost and supernatural bullshit is here anyway but at least it seems better than being a god."
"Wow, that's … you participated in a war?"
"Yeah, early this summer, we won on my birthday actually. I turned 16 and beat up my grandpa, a memorable birthday to say the least."
"I would imagine."
"So, what's Kuoh like?"
