"Isn't she beautiful, she's got your hair color" the female says weakly

"And her eyes are... unique" the male commented

"So are yours" the female retorts

"No I mean they're different colors" he pointed out "sparkling in a sense"

"What will we name her" she asked

the male thought about it before speaking"how about...Irene"

"I like it" she smiled "no one's gonna hurt you love, cause I'm gonna give you all of my love" she cooed, creasing the young infants small cheek

"Your gonna grow and have a good life"

LENA POV

"Nee-chan(Big sister) How much further" my little sister\friend started to complain

We're only couple years apart and like are not related like at all, but still consider each other family otherwise.

"We're almost there, according to the map"

"I hwope its not like last time" I sweat dropped at the thought "you truapped us in a suand storm" she scolded. maybe its because she's a bit young or what, but Rin tends to slurred some of speech. I admit I tend to do that from time to time so maybe so, I mentally shrugged.

'Stupid wind country and sudden sand storms'

"Nope, I assure no more icky sand storms"

"You sure" Makimo, my dark magenta\black haired best friend, said

'YEAH, CIVILIZATION!'

"Woah look at all the building its nothing like the small villages we visited" Irene awed as we enter a hidden village. Even I'm kinda wowed by the sites. Its not all day you see this...or at least for us

'So what now'

Makomo was the first to speak up on the same thing I thought "I suggest you two go get our needed supplies,I'll go to Kazekage and ask if we could stay for a few days or so"

"You can count on us bwig sis" she smiled doing the 'nice guy pose' give her a closed eyed smile and thumbs up

After we got the groceries we went to the park and I let her play a bit 'I mean if we are gonna be her for a while then she needs to act like her age. Eh! maybe I should loosen up too, I mean I'm not that older' I leaned back on the bench I was sitting on

"Bwig sis" Irene comes running up to me crying "they're being mean" pointing to the crowd of children behind her "they say I can't play with them becawse they don't want a freak around" stomping she hissed her foot "that's stupid! rwight"

My eyes shift from her to the group of kids a couple of times before saying "yes, very, c'mon how bout some ice cream to cheer you up"

"Yeah, let's go" she cheered tugging me and we headed towards the ice cream parlor

IRENE POV- 2 months later

"hey, can I play with you two?" I ask two boys who are playing with a ball kinda shyly. Lena-nee said I should 'get some interaction among my own kind. Getting a connection a child needs' or something like that she said its 'healthy' but I haven't really interact with other except Lena and Makimo-Nee

"sure" one of them said he had shiny forest green eyes and a bit mess black hair "the names Kaito" the green eyed said ",and this Seto" pointing to the dirty blonde kid next to him

"Irene" I say above a whisper "nice to meet you"

I was playing at the park with Lena-san when I spotted a redheaded boy siting all alone. I noticefd the sad aura he was giving off, I kinda felt sad 'why was he alone and sad no one deserves what sadness could bring.' I frowned at the thought 'maybe there was no one looking out for him like me, I mean I don't have any parent-not that I remember but probably they love me so...or at least that's what Makomo-nee says. Maybe he just needs a friend, yeah' I thought tappin' my chin

I walked up to the moron he had thick black lines around his eyes an indicator of restless or sleep deprived behaviors-but at the same time it kinda reminds me of a panda 'awe panda-chan' I suddenly mentally slapped myself reminding myself why I was here in the first place. When I zoned back in I notice the redhead staring at me bit curiously, if i my say so.

"uh, hi" I waved awkwardly

"please go," he whispered "I don't want to hurt you"

"what do you mean?" I said bit confused at the statement

"I'm, I'm a monster" he answered

"I don't see no monster" I shook my head "all I see Is a kid, a kid who needs a friend" I Solemnly say. He looked up just enough so our eyes would meet. They call me a freak when I first got here but, but 'monster'. I pondered about that word in my mind for a split second. "No one deserves to be called that!" narrowing my eyes I firmly stated

"Y-you're not running away?" he said confused

"Why would I?" I tilt my head

"B-because I could kill you at any moment I-"

I grabbed the palms of his hands lightly and restated to the boy in a soft yet confident tone "your not a killer or a monster, you are a kid. A kid with a bright future that you build yourself, you determine the outcome, don't let people say what you're not cause I believe in you and that's all that matters"

"You b-believe in m-me?!" he stutters, I nod

"Yes I do! Truly; And If nobody cares to accept you and wants you in this world, accept yourself and you will see that you don't need them and their selfish ideas. forget about them, I'm Irene, let's be friends" I hold out my hand

he glances down at my outstretched hand before grabbing it "Gaara". I can feel him relax his tense muscles, I tilt my head slightly and smiled softly.
