Chapter One

Prologue

"Ah, good. You're awake." said a mysterious female voice as Lily's eyes shot open. Upon opening her eyes, she finds herself in what appears to be a giant blue and white-colored throne room that looks like it was made in the medieval ages of knights. She began to scan the room to see if there was anyone within the room, only to see what could be described as a woman clad in silver armor, with bits of blue cloth in certain areas of her armor, face as smooth as marble, eyes glowing bright lime green but oddly soulless eyes, hair as gold as the purest gold that could ever be found on earth. Lily was taken by surprise by this woman as she stepped backward in shock upon this, but for some reason, she couldn't move. She soon looked down at herself to see that she was nothing more than a ball of...what she can guess was energy.

"Be at ease, human. You're not in danger...at least as if yet."

"W-Who are you? W-Where am I?" Lily asked as she glared at the woman. "What did you do to me!?"

"I did not do anything to you, Lily Lilac." She said which caused Lily to blink in surprise by her knowing her name.

"How do you know my name? Who are you?"

"My real name is not important at this time." The woman said before standing up from her throne and beginning to make her towards the soul. "For now, you can refer to me as Artoria Pendragon or Lancer if you need to make it short."

"Um...I'll go with Artoria Pendragon," Lily said as she noticed Artoria making her way over to her. "So mind telling me how and why I am here?"

"I regret to say this...but you died."

"...I'm sorry, what?"

"You died," Artoria said bluntly as she lifted Lily's soul up into her hand. "If you're wondering how you died, it was because of your body reaching its limit."

"...What do you mean by that?"

"Lily Lilac, age 7. Your real parents abandoned you at an orphanage that wasn't good at being able to handle children. It was more like a prison to you given the way the caretaker and children treated you because of your affiliation being that of an American, which is frowned upon by where you were living at the time. You decided to leave the orphanage to live on your own so that you wouldn't have to deal with the treatment you were given. But in doing so speed up the time you had left to live. Upon reaching ten years old, because of you being malnourished and having a weak heart that no one knew about. You ended up dying in your sleep in the cardboard box you call home."

"...How did you-"

"Your soul tells me everything I need to know about you. Forgive me if I ended up intruding on your privacy."

"...So...I am d-dead?" Lily asked as Artoria nodded. "I-Is this heaven?"

"No. This is not heaven. This is where the planet you lived had created for us to meet in a way." Artoira placed Lily's soul back floating in the air as she stepped back a bit. "You world...it is in danger."

"What do you mean it's in danger?"

"It's a bit difficult to explain. Mainly because I know a lot of what I'm going to say will be hard for you to understand given your age. So I will try my best to simplify it as best as possible. A great evil is currently hiding in the darkness, and it will soon make itself notice upon your world over time. Sooner than expected given how it's already begun to gather strength from this world's evil."

"W-Well I'm sure the heroes can stop it. After all, All Might is the number one hero. Surely he can stop this evil….right?" The kid asked as the woman-like goddess shook her head.

"This evil is far beyond anything that you humans have faced. What humanity will face is an evil of its kind called, The Beast." She said which caused Lily to feel a chill running down her body...or soul to be accurate.

"I'm going to assume that the beast is bad?"

"Correct. The Beast is classified among the Evils of Humanity, the common designation for the beasts of disaster. That's where the Grand Servants are summoned forth as fail-safes to counteract the Evils of Humanity. In layman's terms, special heroes fight special villains that normal human heroes can't fight. Do you understand?"

"F-For the most part, yes. But what does this have to do with me?"

"The reason why you're here is that I have a proposition for you," Artoria said as she once again lifted Lily's soul up into her hand. "For me to save this world from the great evil, I need a host to inhabit. Your body is in bad shape, but I can heal to where you won't have to worry about any health problems of any kind."

"You mean I'll be able to live?" She asked as Artoria nodded.

"But in doing so. Your life will not be the same as it was before meeting me. A heavy burden will be placed upon you if I inhabit your body. Not only will enemies try to kill you, but you will have to face the evil of humanity which I can't guarantee that you will survive the outcome. But if somehow you manage to survive, I will give your life back and you can live it however you want. Be it for good or evil intentions."

"...Why?"

"Excuse me?"

"Why pick me? Out of all the people in the world, why pick? I'm nothing special. I don't have anything that makes me special. I'm just a normal human with nothing going for her. So why pick me?"

"I have my reason why I picked you. Three of them would be to protect humanity, even if it's not my world. I care for humans as if a mother would care for their child, and to regain something that was lost to me a long time ago." She said which caused Lily to question herself what she means by regaining something lost. "My top priority as a grand servant is to protect humanity at any cost. The choice is yours. Should you refuse to accept this, you will be sent to heaven and the world you used to live in will be gone. But should you accept this, I will do all I can to help you in this fight. So I ask, Lily Lilac. Will you help me save your world from the Evils of Humanity?"

Lily didn't say anything. It was mainly because of what was going on in front of her. This woman, goddess, or whatever she was, offered her a second chance at life. It was kind of hard to believe what she was saying. She figured this was some kind of dream she was having after eating something weird from the dumpster before falling asleep. But if this woman was telling the truth that her world was in trouble that not even All Might could handle, then shouldn't she try her best to help? Could this woman even be trusted?

"Do we have a deal, child?" Artoria asked as Lily spoke up.

"A-Alright...I'll help save my world," Lily answered as it caused the goddess to smile at her.

"Excellent and wise choice. We will talk more once you wake up in your body." Artoria said as Lily felt her soul beginning to float up towards the ceiling. "I am looking forward to seeing how far you will achieve in your second chance at life."

Lily's eyes shot open before letting out a loud gasping cough. She found herself back inside the giant cardboard box-like home she made as she started to calm herself down after experiencing what just happened to her. She soon looked over at herself to see that she was a bit taller than usual. Maybe by an inch or two. Her concept of measurement wasn't that great, but she didn't feel sore, tired, or hungry. If anything, she felt stronger and full of energy.

"...I guess what happened wasn't a dream."

"Indeed, it wasn't a dream," said Artoria as her voice caused Lily to yelp in surprise. The little girl looked around to see where Artioria was, only to see that there wasn't anyone near her.

"A-Artoria?"

"If you're wondering where I am, I am currently inside you. Soul wise to be accurate." The divine spirit said which caused the bunny girl to calm down a bit. "I did say that I'd help you, did I not?"

"Yeah...just...I'm sorry, this is all new to me. I mean, something like this is hard to believe." She said while examining her own body a bit more. "I feel...weird. Weird in a good way, not a bad way."

"It's understandable. This is your first time experiencing something like this. So it's natural to feel scared."

"S-So what happens now?"

"What happens now? We're going to train. Much as you might not like it. I restored and increased your physical ability beyond mortal limits. But seeing how you're a child, you will need to learn how your new body and powers work. Hence why I am going to be your teacher so you'll be prepared for the end of days."

"How long before this evil makes itself known?"

"Who knows. It could be days, months, even years. But it will appear, and once it does, you will be ready by then. But before we start training, we need to find another place to live. Mainly so you can train in a larger area, not in a small crap area that might cause problems for people living around. I suggest going to an abandoned area so that it will limit human casualties, and give you someplace to sleep in."

"Fair enough. But I have a lot of questions that I want to be answered. Mainly about….well...what are you."

"I suppose it'll be fair seeing how I am sharing your body," Artoria said as Lily began to collect her stuff. "In the past of a different world, I was once called the King of Britain."
