England. Great Britain 1991. Back of the house. Hermione spent her time with a book she read. She loved the smell of the book no matter what kind of book she had.
Beside the smell of the book, she was attracted to the smell of toothpaste. Her parents are dentists, she grew up smelling it on them on a regular basis.
Her favorite book is Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen. The way Mr. Darcy had his eyes on his precious, stubborn woman, Elizabeth Bennet. The second daughter of the Bennet's. Mr. Dracy will do anything for her.
Well. Enough of the story of Darcy and the Bennet's. Their love is pure.
"Hermione!"
She looked up from her book. Laid the book on her lap. Carefully she heard again.
"Hermione dear! It's almost dinner".
She closed the book. Rising up from where she was sitting. Book she held on her chest, running back inside the house. Hermione found her mother in the kitchen.
"Mum?"
"Hermione".
"Where's dad? You got home early". She looked around the room. "I was at the back when you called me".
"He couldn't make it tonight". said Mrs Granger. Set the plate on the table. "Just two of us". Mrs Granger stops, she turns to Hermione. "What are you doing back there?"
"Reading".
Hermione Jean Granger. Born September 19, 1979 is a Muggle-born to Mr. and Mrs Granger. The dentist.
Beside Pride and Prejudice book. She loves reading Hogwarts: A History. It was Hermione's favorite book and she often referred to it on many things concerning Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Three of the things that she brought up are the Great Hall's enchanted ceiling that shows the weather outside, the fact that one cannot apparate or disapparate on Hogwarts grounds and the fact that electronic devices do not work within the grounds.
The only child in Granger's family. And although they were a bit bemused by the oddities displayed by their daughter.
"Reading?"
"My usual hobbies. I love reading ''you know that mum". Mrs Granger nods. "Thank you. You home early I ask you".
"Your dad asked me to go home early. So then we can spend our time together. How's your school honey?"
Hermione shrugged. "Usual. I'm a bookworm nobody asks me anything".
"Maybe you need to stay low. Trying to be friendly".
"I did. They push me because I'm sort of clever, book-smart, and always very logical when I'm speaking. Trust me mum they won't".
Mrs Granger giggled. "Help me with the plate".
Later in the evening. Hermione and Mrs Granger eating dinner without Mr. Granger's presence.
Hermione asks her mother. "How's your work?"
"Great. Charlie accidently kicked your dad's legs, he needed stitches on his teeth. That boy ..".
Mrs Granger giggled. "I wasn't there when it happened. Boys his age eat a lot of candies especially in October. His mother was afraid he wouldn't stop chewing the sweet".
Mrs Granger stares at Hermione's face and smiles. "My Hermione. My Mia. You are such a beautiful creature that I want to eat you alive. Thanks to your dad".
"Mum? Don't start again. They never like me".
"How about I cheer you up?"
Weekend. Hermione in her room, reading. Mrs Granger at the back of the house, gardening. Mr. Granger at the town with some friends.
Mrs Granger walks back inside the house and notices an owl landing on their window house. With the envelope?
Mrs Granger was shocked. This owl is brighter than the neighbor cat. She thought. "Hermione?" She called from the living room. "Hermione dear".
"Coming mum!" Mrs Granger hears Hermione running downstairs to the living room where she stood. Her eyes stare at the owl. "What is it mum?" She stood beside Mrs Granger.
"Is that an owl outside our window?" Mrs Granger point. Hermione turned to look at the window. "It carried an envelope by itself. Since then we have had owls posted in England".
Hermione shrugged. Notice something. "Deal with it, Hermione. Give food or something". Mrs Granger walks to the kitchen then walks out back of the house again. Hermione takes a small step towards the owl.
Could a wild owl? Nice owl?
But then, she realized this. "Mum? I don't think this owl is _?" This owl came from the owl post office, was the equivalent to a muggle office which she knew and she read from a book. Her hand reaches the envelope, then the owl flies away.
"You don't think so?" said Mrs Granger behind her. "What?"
Hermione turns to her mum, back to the envelope. Staring at the envelope, which is addressed in Emerald Ink. Hermione turns the envelope over, and finds a purple wax seal. It is a coat of arms, surrounding a large letter H.
Staring in quiet wonderment at her envelope. "What is it Hermione?" ask Mrs Granger. Hermione looked up at her mum, said.
"Letter from the Hogwarts".
Late at night. Granger's house. Hermione standing middle of the room as she read out loud of the letter she receive from Hogwarts earlier.

Hermione looks up from her letter. Her eyes scanned her parents. Mr. Granger rose up from the sofa. Gently he snatched the letter from Hermione's hand and read it again.
"My my .." said Mr. Granger. Look up from the letter. "I'm shocked".
"Me too". said twelve years old Hermione Granger. "I'm shocked. I Am".
"Can we find all this stuff in London, Hermione?" ask her dad.
"No, Dad. There is one place where we can get all this stuff". She smiled. "I read about it. All the students required to buy this stuff are one and only in Diagon Alley".
Mr. Granger nods understanding. "So, where is Diagon Alley?".
A day in Diagon Alley. Diagon Alley is a cobblestoned wizarding alley and shopping area located in London, England.
Behind a pub called the Leaky Cauldron. Inside the alley is an assortment of restaurants, shops, and other sights. All items on the supply list can be bought at Diagon Alley.
The alley is completely hidden from the world which is right outside of its boundaries. It is very large in area and essentially the center of wizarding London.
The Granger's early visit purchases Hermione school supplies, including her wand from Ollivanders. Hermione still can't believe a muggle born like hers has been accepted by Hogwarts.
She barely sleeps as she thinks about it. Her name is now in the Ministry of Magic list. She is the Witch.
"Can I go to Flourish and Blotts? I would like to purchase a book of my own".
Her eyes on Mr. and Mrs Granger as they nod and watch Hermione running inside the bookstore. As she stepped inside, she heard a silky voice come out of nowhere.
She ignored it, and walked between the shelves.
"Ahh! Professor Snape, what brought you to my shop? '' said the manager. "Anything you are interested in?"
Hermione takes a peep between the books.
In front of her, a man who was dressed in flowing black robes was standing. He had shoulder-length, greasy black hair from the back she sees him now.
Who is he? A Professor? He must be one of the teachers in Hogwarts he teaches.
She shrugged. Ignore the professor. Didn't notice she sat between the shelves and blocked the way.
Hermione feels hot and heavy behind her, someone is standing. Then she heard a silky voice again spoken behind her.
"What a bushy brown hairstyle and a large pile of books on the ground blocking my way". Hermione was stunned, gulping her own saliva. The voice spoke back. "Out of my way girl!" He snapped.
Hermione wouldn't dare turn her back and see his face, quickly crawling on the ground towards other shelves. Hoping she didn't block his way again.
As she reaches another shelf, she takes a peep on him again. Only she sees Snape legs and his shoes.
Minute then Snape walks out from the bookstore heading his own way.
"Little girl?" Hermione snapped. "What are you crawling around doing?" The manager asked. "I saw you. He's Professor Snape if you're curious about. He is a teacher in Hogwarts".
"I will study there soon". Hermione looked up at the manager.
"Owh. First year fresh student crawling on my ground and afraid of her soon to be her teacher".
The manager laughed. "Get up. It's dirty down there. Perhaps I could help you with the book you are interested in". The manager smiled.
Later that. "Hermione, dear , what took you so long inside?"
"Nothing. I found the books I want. Come on. There are a lot of places where we need to buy my school supplies". Hermione drags her parents.
The Granger's walk past the potions shop where Snape is inside purchasing his goods. He looks over his shoulder where he sees the same bushy hairstyle he saw at Flourish and Blotts earlier.
Wonder who's that bushy girl. Hoping she wasn't one of his house nor a student in Hogwarts that he doesn't want to see again.
"Packed this for me.. Now!"
