In 2011, I changed my stars.

That's a long story, still in the making, that isn't a fan fiction, but has to do with this story.

Because, it was, in 2011 that I wrote the first story of my life, a Stargate SG-1 fan fiction, with an original character and everything.

I had NEVER done something like this before, but that one story posted in one fandom group led to so many friendships, and led to the journey you are about to read, which was originally entitled: Surprise Package.

Surprise Package is a finished story, a true happy ending for Daniel Jackson, which spawned a yet to be finished sequel, Crystalline Blue Waters.

Because, see, in 2016, my star changing faced a setback, and I lost my home to a fire while I was trying to finish my doctorate. Insert a few other unlucky circumstances, including a serious injury and cancer scare, and I spent the next few years picking up the pieces.

I tell you this, before you embark on this journey, because a lot can happen in 10 years. In 10 years, a person can grow a lot, change a lot, and even want to change a story that meant so much to them to something they feel means even more.

So...the first seventy or so chapters are the original story, unchanged. Then, after the epilogue, I begin the story I have so lovingly named, "Not Even Then" which includes additional scenes I never published, and dives deeper into what I wished could have come of Daniel. I will be publishing as fast as I can, to finish this story and then the sequel Crystalline Blue Waters, whose outlined I have also recently finished.

And, finally, to Daniel.

You saved me once, twice and then again.

May I do you justice and give you, though fictional you may be, the happiness you deserved.
