The Victors Battle: The 75th Hunger Games

What if Peeta had not won the games? What if just Katniss had won? How different would it be and who would have won the 75th Quarter Quell? Find out in the Victors Battle.

1. Chapter 1

Prologue: The President's Speech

Coriolanus Snow, President of Panem, 78:

I was calmly sitting at my desk doing some paperwork. I smirked that the 75th game was right around the corner. I already knew what the quarter quell twist was going to be and luckily for us we just got our first female victor for district 12 meaning we had the exact amount of victors we needed.

I also was super proud of that District 2 boy from last year even though he didn't win. I knew the minute that idiot Seneca mentioned how there could be 2 victors that the pair from 12 would try to outsmart the capitol. He's lucky I didn't kill him but he still has a job as the head game maker.

I remember seeing the pair from 12 try and fight the giant from 2 but it was hopeless. The girl Katniss grabbed her bow but before she could aim at the Cato kid he quickly snapped Peeta's neck and threw him to the mutts below. In rage Katniss shot Cato dead center in the heart which killed him instantly and just like that Katniss was the winner.

I was thankful there had been only one winner. There could have been a rebellion if they killed Cato. There actually was a situation over in District 11 after the little girl Rue got killed. But luckily the peacekeepers handled it and got everything back under control.

I smile to myself and stand up. It's about that time to address the citizens and tell them this new twist.

I calmly walk outside and see all the capital citizens there. I smile and raise my hands. "Citizens of Panem, I welcome you to the 75th anniversary of the Hunger Games!" I cry out.

All the capital citizens start to cheer as I continue. "Because this is the 75th year that means it is now time for our third Quarter Quell!" I announce as the crowd cheers again.

I calmly take the slip containing the twist from my jacket, put on my glasses and begin reading. "As a reminder that even the strongest can not overcome the power of the capital the tributes from each district will be reaped from the existing pool of victors." I announce.

The crowd cheers once more as I smile. This is going to be the most exciting game yet.

Hi everyone it's Wiifan2002 here with another story. This is going to be another project I am working on. I still plan on continuing my SYOT story Life however this has been in my mind for awhile. I've been waiting for another author to create a story like this but no one has and I figured since I now have my own computer I can write the story. This is not a SYOT however each reaping chapter will be in a SYOT format. I took a bit of inspiration from another author very new to this who created the 74th games story with only one winner. I also want to make it very clear there is no plot armor. Katniss could just as easily die in these games as anyone else likewise a tribute from a random district like 9 could also win. Anyways I hope you like the first chapter of this new story. Please read and review and I'll see you guys soon.
