Volume 4 Green: The Ride.

Alone. That was Rina felt now. No one to help her and no way of escape as she had finally been caught even though she gave herself up willingly. She looked up at the only window in the small containment cell she was in as she could tell that the airship she was on was still moving seeing the clouds move past them.

She didn't know why but she had always fantasied about the clouds when she was younger. How they were floating up their without a care in the world? How they got created? Or how they change shape like it was effortless?

"Well isn't this a sad sight." Her assertive side spoke up. To Rina she thought the voice was in her head but she looked to her side and noticed that the other Rina was standing outside the cell with her arms crossed.

"You're giving up. That is just pathetic. So this is how we go down. You're weak just like father was." The other Rina replied.

This definitely didn't sit well with Rina as she got up from the small cot she was provided.

"Don't you dare talk about Roman. At least he had honor for what he was doing." Rina growled.

"Oh come now dearie. We both know that is hardly true." A smoother voice said as Rina turned around back to her cot and noticed that the other Rina had appeared on her cot still holding that seductive look.

"We know that Roman was hardly a saint. You know that yourself right. We we're trained to be the greatest thief to ever live and even surpass him to run his little company." The seductive Rina said.

"Like I ever wanted to take over his business." Rina replied.

"Don't lie to yourself. We know that deep in your mind you wanted to take over his business the moment he kicked the bucket but now that'll never happen since you gave yourself up." The authoritive one replied.

"Can't you both just go away. Just leave me alone." Rina ordered.

"Oh you know that we can't be gone forever dearie. We'll always be at your side without you even knowing it." Her seductive side replied.

Rina heard footsteps coming toward her as they got louder. She turned back to the front of the cell as her authoritive side was gone as well as the second voice. Glad that they were gone she was about to return to her cot but the footsteps were now close to her cell as someone was now standing there.

It was a member of the Ace Ops Elm Ederne as she stood in front of her cell with a plate of food in her hands.

She placed the plate in the rectangular slot "Here. Figured you might be hungry." Elm said.

Rina took the plate of food in her hands without much of a thank you and then sat down at her cot. It was a simple meal with mashed potatoes, a burger, and green beans.

She took the burger and bit into it as she didn't even bother.

"Be grateful that you're even getting a meal. That's just something the cook whipped up for you. So don't get used to it." Elm said as she left leaving Rina all alone again. After finishing her meal she placed the plate back and returned to her cot as she thought she would finally get some sleep.

=RWBY=

It was nighttime as Rina was running through the streets of Vale as if she was trying to locate someone. She continue to run through the streets until she saw someone ahead of her that was familiar to her as she saw a long white trench coat and bowler hat.

"Dad!" She called out in joy but he didn't respond as she continued to get closer or that's what she wanted but every time she ran faster she wasn't getting any closer to him it was like she was stuck in place no matter how hard she ran.

She than felt something grab at her leg as she tripped over herself falling face first. She checked to make sure she was okay and that nothing was broken as she felt something pull her along the ground. She tried to grab at anything that could stop herself. She even tried firing a web from her hand but for reason it didn't work. She noticed a pole nearby as she grabbed it for dear life.

She dared to look behind her as she noticed it was black chains that had wrapped around her ankles as it continued to drag her into what looked like into an abyss.

"Dad! Help me!" She called out but she noticed that he wasn't there anymore but instead it was teammates staring at her with a dark look.

"Traitor." Iona said as a strong wind suddenly blew behind her directly at Rina as her grip on the pole was slipping.

"Liar." Pepper said as another strong wind blew as Rina's grip was loosening even more.

"Deceiver." Star said as a final strong wind blew causing Rina to lose her grip on the pole and sent her flying into the dark abyss. She felt herself hitting a brick wall as the chains wrap around her body holding her in place. She tried to move but the chains left little room to move.

She then saw Roman standing in front of her "Enjoy this place. Cause this is where you will stay... forever." Roman said before vanishing like dust in the wind.

She struggled against her chains trying to move "No. Let me go! LET ME GO!" Rina shouted completely in fear. She heard a growl as a beowolf suddenly appeared in front of her licking its chops.

The beowolf then jumped at her with its maw wide open going in for the kill.

=RWBY=

Her eyes shot opened as she rose up from her cot trying to catch her breath while heavy sweat came down her face. She checked her surroundings as to make sure she was still in that same small cell and was on the airship.

She also looked over her body to make sure there weren't any chains as she let out a sigh of relieve but it did little to help as she folded her legs to her chest trying to make herself as small as possible as she silently cried.

In another part of the airship was where the Ace Ops were currently sleeping as some of them were sleeping rather peacefully. All but one of them was tossing and turning as Harriet couldn't get what Rina said out of her head.

"How well do you know the general?" That question rung in her head ever since they left Vale city. Unable to sleep she decided to get up from her bed and walk around a little but for some reason her body was moving toward the holding cells in the back of the airship.

She eventually stopped in front of Rina's cell but she saw the girl curled up with her legs toward her chest as she heard her crying a little which brought some worry to her face.

"Hey... you alright kiddo." Harriet said as Rina's head shot up from hearing her voice tears streaming from her eyes.

"Do I look okay?" Rina shot back turning her vision away from Harriet.

Harriet looked over the girl and could tell that something was wrong.

"Let me guess. Bad dream." Harriet replied knowingly. Rina didn't speak for a moment but she only nodded.

"Yeah I kinda figured that. Could tell when someone had a bad dream. My kid gets them sometime." Harriet said.

That got Rina's attention as she looked back toward Harriet "You have a kid? That's a surprise. Who's the lucky guy?" Rina asked.

"Oh I'm sure she wouldn't like being called a guy." Harriet added which surprised Rina at this.

"Then you got to be really lucky. Didn't really see you for playing for the other team." Rina said which got a small laugh out of Harriet.

"Actually I'm bisexual but she just... caught my attention so to speak." Harriet replied.

"Hey as long as you both are happy that's all that matter right." Rina spoke before letting out a sigh.

"But your here for something else aren't you." Rina finally said which got Harriets attention.

"Figured you would see right through that." She said before getting to her actually question.

"What did you mean by what you said? About the general?" Harriet questioned.

"All I'm saying is how well do you know him? Is he the kind of guy that goes by the book or is he the one to do whatever it takes to get what he wants?" Rina said.

"I know the general goes by the books at all times. Nothing out of the ordinary from what I can tell." Harriet said.

"Now how about I ask a question." Harriet said.

"Before you ask the answer is no." Rina replied quickly.

"You didn't even hear my question. How would you even answer that?" Harriet said.

"You were going to ask if I had any part of the destruction of Vale. The answer is no. I was trying to get out of the city before it got worse. I was also trying to get my family out so they weren't hurt or worse. And I know that is rather hard to believe and whatever the reporters are going to spin I'm not involved in the White Fang either." Rina replied.

"Then who were you involved with?" Harriet asked.

Rina opened her mouth to speak but she thought about what she had to say first. She then finally spoke up.

"My father...Roman Torchwick." Rina said which kind of surprised the ace op.

"From what the Vale police knew Roman never had any kids or was never married so you couldn't be his kid." Harriet replied.

"Ever heard of adoption? He adopted me and... another from the streets. Even went through the system to make it legal." Rina added.

"I see... he doesn't sound like a bad guy even if others saw him as a criminal. Must've been a good dad for you." Harriet replied.

"Yeah... he was a great dad. But now..." Rina said somberly.

Harriet went to speak again but she heard footsteps coming toward her as she turned to see General Ironwood coming at her as she stood at attention.

"Lieutenant Bree. Shouldn't you be asleep right now." Ironwood said.

"Sorry sir but I couldn't sleep. Thought I get some answers out of her." Harriet replied quickly.

"And any luck with that?" Ironwood asked simply.

Harriet paused a moment before she answered "No sir. Nothing yet. She's rather reluctant to talk." Harriet replied. Rina listened and was wondering what she was doing. She given some information but Harriet didn't tell him. Was she... lying to the general?

"Very well. It'll be a few more days before we get to Mistral. While there we'll refuel and then depart for Atlas. I'll have a word with Jacque about the coming trial." Ironwood replied.

"Of course sir." Harriet replied as the general turned around and walked away from Harriet.

Making sure that he was gone Harriet relaxed her shoulders "Man he's always so damn tense." She replied.

"Well he is the general of the Atlas military. Not a big surprise." Rina replied.

"Though he is right. I've got to get some sleep. I'm sure you need some sleep too." Harriet replied as she left the spider faunus alone.

"Hey." Rina called out making Harriet stop a moment as she looked over her shoulder.

"Um... think we can talk more... tomorrow?" Rina asked. Harriet blinked her one good eye before she grinned a little.

"Sure thing. Though you better get some sleep then. Catch you in the morning." She said as she left Rina to her thoughts.

Rina didn't know why she asked that but maybe she thought it be nice to have at least some company to talk to before her pending trial. She lay back down on her cot before trying to get some sleep for tomorrow.

Meanwhile Harriet was figuring things out in her own head especially considering she just lied to her superior officer but luckily enough he wasn't suspicious of her at least not yet. Though she still found rather hard to believe that the girl was adopted by Roman Torchwich and apparently it was through legal means but she was uncertain if that was even true or not. She continued to walk back to her quarters but something caught her ears as she walked past the generals office as the door was slightly opened.

"General we managed to salvage some of the footage from the Vale Police Department. Though this does bring some concern sir and it might affect the pending trial." An officer said.

"Thank you. Let's have a look at them." Ironwood replied.

Harriet now quite curious she carefully peeked in with her good eye in order to take a look at the footage. The footage played as it appeared to be a street camera on an alley way as it showed a black haired boy and an orange haired girl hold what appears to be a large hammer as the two eliminated a grimm with expert teamwork the only problem was there wasn't any audio.

The footage continued as she saw Rina appear in the footage with her sword in hand. The boy seemed to talk to her for a minute before she saw Rina stab the boy in the abdomen near the kidneys. The girl that was next to the boy was in utter shock as she appeared to be shouting at Rina before Rina disappeared from the screen.

Harriet heard a hum coming from the general as if he was thinking about something "What can we do to... change the events of this ." Ironwood replied.

"Sir are you asking to alter the footage? But wouldn't that be brought into question." The officer replied.

"The only two people that will know about this will be the two of us. Nobody else will know about this." Ironwood replied.

"As long as it satisfies Jacque to get him off my back. Make sure to inform me when it is done." He added.

"Yes sir." The officer replied as he got to work. Harriet carefully moved away from the door as she decided to head back to her quarter so that she doesn't raise any suspicion. When she got back to her quarters her temporary roommate was still asleep as Elm was snoring slightly. Though before she tucked herself in for the night Elm suddenly spoke up.

"You're up late. Couldn't sleep." Elm said catching Harriets attention.

"Yeah... something like that." Harriet added.

Elm sat up before looking at her teammate "You sure about that? Or you sure it isn't anything else?" Elm questioned.

"Yeah I'm sure. Just needing to walk around a little." Harriet replied as she sat on her bed and before lying down on her bed across from Elm.

"You sure that nothing is bothering you? Nothing at all." Elm said.

"Yes Elm nothing is bothering me." Harriet said but she knew it was a flat out lie but she hid it rather well.

"Let's get some sleep okay. We still got a long ride to yet." Harriet said turning her back toward Elm. Elm shrugged as she laid back down and went to sleep though Harriet was still awake a little but eventually she nodded off and slept.

=RWBY=

Morning came as everyone was wide awake as they met up in the small kitchen that was for them. Still wearing the same outfit Harriet grabbed what the cook was making for a hearty breakfast as everyone sat down at the table provided for them on the airship.

They were currently eating their meals all except for Harriet as she was picking a bit at her food the only thing she ate was her eggs but the hash browns that were made for her she barely even touched as Clover glanced over.

"You had a rough night?" He asked getting her attention.

"Something like that." Harriet immediately answered.

"If you having trouble sleeping I'm sure that Vine can help with you rest with some mediation." Clover suggested.

Vine spoke up next "If that is what Harriet needs then I'll be glad to assist." Vine replied.

"Guys I'm not having trouble sleeping okay. You guys worry too much. It's just been a fast twenty-four hours that's all." Harriet said reassuring them.

Then the wolf faunus spoke up "She does have a point. Probably still working off that adrenaline from the grimm that attacked Vale. I do recall that we had to fight a few of them before finding that spider back there." Marrow said mentioning Rina.

That didn't set too well with Harriet as she glared at the rookie "That 'spider' has a name you know. That's almost calling yourself the wolf instead of by your name Marrow." Harriet said harshly making the wolf faunus flinch.

"Hey take it easy will yah. What's got into you?" Elm replied taken aback by the lieutenants actions.

Harriet sighed at this "Sorry it's just..." She paused a moment before she got up from her seat.

"I'm going to take a walk." She added as she walked away from the table as the hydraulic door opened allowing her to pass through as it closed behind her.

She began walking the halls of the airship trying to clear her head of what she saw last night but it was still fresh in her memory that she couldn't ignore it. Though she didn't want to bring it up to the general otherwise he'd be suspicious of her. She continued walking until she was near the containment room.

She first thought of simply walking past the room and not even talk with her this morning but something was stopping her from doing so as she decided to go speak with Rina again. It was a quick walk as she was now in front of Rinas containment cell. Now that Harriet looked at it in full view... it did look rather small for the girl.

As for Rina she was still asleep seeing the rise and fall of her chest.

"Well she's sleeping peacefully. Maybe I shouldn't bother her." She thought as she turned to leave.

"Leaving so soon." Rina said completely stopping Harriet in her track as she turn back around and saw Rina softly staring at her with her cyan blue eyes.

"Sorry did I wake you." She apologized.

"Nah. I was just getting up. Though can't hardly go anywhere anyway." Rina added gesturing to her current cell that she was in.

"Right. Never really did like the cells they make on these ships but that's the military for you." Harriet replied.

"Yeah but it does feel kinda cramped in here. Can hardly move around in here." Rina added.

Harriet had a thought for a moment before she had a smirk on her face "I think I might do something to help a little." Harriet replied knowingly.

"How so?" Rina asked.

"Just give me a few minutes. I need to speak with the general." Harriet replied.

"I promise we'll talk more after this okay." Harriet said as she turned to leave Rina.

Rina watched the ace op leave probably to do what she is thinking.

"She seems like a nice girl. If she wasn't married then just maybe.." Her seductive voice said teasing Rina.

"Oh shut up will you. Besides I'm not interested." Rina said.

"Suit yourself. She does have a nice body though. Must work out quite a bit." It said again.

"Okay that's enough out of you. You know I really need to come up with names for the two of you so that way I can yell at you." Rina said.

"Love you too dearie." It said before going silent again. Rina only hoped that she hurried back with whatever she is thinking.

=RWBY=

"You want... to do what now." Ironwood replied still having the stoic look on his face.

"I'm requesting to let our... prisoner walk around to stretch her legs." Harriet said back.

Ironwood remained his usual stoic self before he finally spoke up again "And why should I allow a criminal to walk around this ship with a potential chance of escape. I'm sorry but the risk is too high for this. Request denied." Ironwood said firmly.

Harriet bit her tongue not wanting to shout at the general but she did come up with another idea.

"What if... I can gain her trust?" She said which seemed to bring some interest back into the general.

"I'm listening." He said folding his fingers into his hands.

"If I can get her to trust me a bit more than maybe she can open up little by little and who knows maybe she might let something slip that could be useful in the trial that you're having for her once we get to Atlas." Harriet said presenting her idea to the general.

"Plus it'll get Jacque off your back that's for sure." She added.

Ironwood closed his eyes as if he was thinking about his options that were presented to him. The one option of having Harriet gain Rina's trust would make things much easier to gain information about her and maybe even something to use during the trial he was still planning but it could also go sideways as well as he considered if Rina found out and she refuses to speak which force him to take other measures.

"Very well. I'll allow it but you'll be in charge of watching over her. Also make sure that she is cuffed so that she doesn't try anything." Ironwood replied.

"Understood." Harriet said as she turned and left.

After she left the general received all on his scroll from Euryale.

"It's about time you called. What took you so long?" Ironwood replied.

"Apologies general I was rather occupied for the moment. Though I'm here to make sure our deal was completed." She said.

"As far as I know the VPD was destroyed which more likely erased all knowledge of you ever being a criminal. As far as I'm concerned you're a free women now." Ironwood said.

"Thank you general. It'sss been a pleasssure working with you. Feel free to call whenever you need help with sssomething elssse." Euryale hissed smoothly.

"I'll consider it." Ironwood replied.

"Though you might want to check your newsss general. It'sss quite a shocker." Euryale replied before hanging up.

The general didn't know what she meant but he turned on the holovision and like she said the news was on right now.

"Twenty four hours ago had rocked the capital of Vale and Beacon Academy when waves of grimm attacked and had destroyed the once flourishing city as deaths were reported in the hundreds as many civilians, students, and staff were killed in this vicious attack. This had also got the attention of Atlas Council member Vanessa Tora who is also a part of the Dust Management who has issued an embargo on all dust trades going to or coming from Atlas for reasons we do not know. Some believe this has to do with the attack that had happened in Vale. We will keep you posted on what is to come." The news women said.

Ironwood gritted his teeth as he had a feeling that Jacque was most certainly not going to be happy about this. He knew all about Mrs. Tora's involvement and he found it admirable that she was able to get a seat on the council let alone two. Something that he only wished to get but right now he had another job to take care of first.

=RWBY=

Harriet walked back to where Rina was to tell the good news but someone stopped her in the process.

"Hey Harriet can I talk to you a moment?" Marrow asked.

The one eyed women sighed as she turned to him. "Yeah. What is it?" She asked quickly trying not to sound too harsh.

"Um... look what I said back there it wasn't right of me to say. I mean it makes me sound racist saying that so... I wanted to apologize for that." Marrow said rubbing his arm as his tail swayed slightly.

Harriet stared at him for a bit and couldn't help but shake her head a smile at him. Sure he was a rookie but he was like a little brother to her just like... someone else she knew.

"It's fine Marrow. We get ahead of ourselves sometimes and say things we shouldn't. Just next time make sure you remember to think what you say before you say it okay." Harriet said placing a hand on his shoulder to reassure him. Then an idea popped into her head.

"Say you want to give a hand with something?" She asked.

"Sure... what is it?" He questioned.

"Just follow me." Harriet said as he followed after her. He noticed that she was leading them to the containment cell where Rina was at. Luckily Rina was still wide awake.

"Heya kiddo. Got some good news for you. The general said it was okay for you to walk around a little. Stretch those legs of yours." Harriet said.

"Finally. I felt like I was getting cramps." Rina said before noticing the other one that was with her.

"Who's he?" She questioned looking at the newcomer.

"This is Marrow. I've asked him to help me out." Harriet said in which he turned his head to her.

"Whoa! Hold on a minute! You sure this is okay! What if she tried to escape!?" He replied showing his concern.

Harriet sighed before continuing "Though there is a catch. You'll have to be cuffed the entire time. That's the only way I could get you to walk around." She said.

"Fine. Guess it'll work." Rina said.

Harriet gestured Marrow to open the cell door as he took out a key and placed it in the lock and then turned it to the left unlocking the cell.

"Just step out and well put these on." Harriet ordered as Rina did just that. She held her hands out as Harriet placed silver cuffs that locked on her wrists. Rina examined them carefully as she lifted her right arm which forced her left arm to rise slightly as well.

"Okay... guess they'll do." Rina said.

"Alright. General said ten minutes so better start walking if you want to stretch those legs of yours." Harriet said as Rina nodded as she and the two ace ops members began exiting behind her making sure she didn't do anything stupid.

They left the containment area and were now walking in hallway of the airship. Rina was taking in the sights of the ship as she walked.

"This is quite a big ship. Is it just you ace ops guys and the general?" Rina asked rather curious.

"Actually this is just one of our ships. Although our main supply ship was destroyed during the attack." Marrow said.

Rina flinched at that as her mood shifted to somber look which didn't go unnoticed by Harriet.

"Hey you alright?" She said with some worry on her face.

"I-It's nothing. Nothing important." Rina said quickly.

Harriet wanted to press but she decided it wasn't the right time but she wanted to get Rina to open up a little but at her own pace.

They walked for the last six minutes as Rina felt more relaxed than she used to be and she was definitely glad to be able to stretch her legs. They continued to walk back to the containment cell as she looked refreshed.

"Man that felt great to actually walk around a little. Thanks for that." Rina replied.

"Just to make sure you're comfortable." Harriet said as they walked back to the containment cells.

However during the walk a strong pulse hit Rina's mind as she stopped mid step making the other two stop as well.

"Hey. Why'd you stop?" Marrow asked.

Rina tried to move her body but it wasn't responding to her like it should that's because she can tell that her authority side was trying to come to light.

"This is pathetic. I'm sick and tired of being chained down to you. I'm taking charge." Her authoritive side shouted as the pulse became stronger actually hurting Rina as the girl shouted in pain.

"STOP IT!" Rina shouted as she fell to her knees.

"NO! I'm done with you! I want control!" It commanded.

Rina bolted upward as she thrashed about stumbling harshly to her right her eyes closed as her head hit the metal of the ship.

"Hey! Take it easy!" Harriet called out as she and Marrow jumped into action immediately as they grabbed hold of the girl but Rina still thrashed about as they were trying to restrain her.

To their luck Vine was coming around corner and noticed what was happening.

"Vine! A little help here!" Harriet called out as he immediately activated his semblance as his arms became aura vines.

He launched his vines at Rina wrapping around her body trapping her in it as Harriet and Marrow stepped away.

"May I ask what happened?" Vine asked.

"I don't know. We were doing fine walking her back to her cell, and then she started thrashing about and she shouted to absolutely nobody. She's surprisingly strong for her age." Harriet replied.

However she felt something on her hand that felt strangely like liquid and to her displeasure it was blood that was on her hand. She then looked toward the left side of Rina's head and seeing some blood drip done from her head as it streamed down her ear. Her eyes were still closed and her teeth were clench as if she was in pain but it wasn't from the injury.

"Get her to the medical bay." Harriet said.

"But didn't you say..." Vine started but she stopped him.

"That's an order!" She ordered and without a second thought Vine took Rina who was still wrapped in his aura vines as he walked her to the medical bay.

"C'mon let's get that washed too." Marrow suggested as the two of them followed after Vine because now Harriet is wondering what the hell happened with Rina and that there might be even more to her than she's letting on.
