Hack Ketchum

Pallet Town, Kanto

Despite being one of the least populated places in all of Kanto, this small town was one of the best known places in the region. Although it was home to barely a hundred people, throughout the years there was at least one person from Pallet that would carve their name into history in each and every generation.

It all started with Samuel Oak. The then twelve year old boy went on a journey with his trusty Charmander to see and perhaps even catch all the Pokémon in the world. The things he saw in his ten year long journey turned his focus from battling into researching. His research on Pokémon evolution and his contributions towards the establishment of the Official Pokémon League made him the prime authority in all things Pokémon related in the world. In fact, Professor Oak was the only single person in the Pokémon League Board to hold the power to veto any decisions made by the League. Many of the leading Professors from the other regions were his students at one point except for Professor Rowan, who was a friend of Oak's.

After Samuel, the era of Red, Blue and Leaf arrived. All three of them were kids who were born in Pallet Town and grew up there. Although they were bitter rivals at the beginning of their journey, the things they encountered turned them into the closest of friends with a bond that surpassed common sense.

Red was a little slow in training his Pokémon at the beginning. But his inherent genius finally shined through during his journey which helped him to beat his long time rival Blue and become the Champion of Kanto. Even though no one has seen him for over a decade, he was still widely considered as the strongest trainer to have walked the planet. He had left a trail of destruction across the world before vanishing, never to be seen again.

Blue started as the direct opposite of Red. As the son of Professor Oak, his natural genius when it came to training Pokémon was always present for the world to see. He trained his Pokémon purely for battle and had always been against Red who treated his Pokémon with kindness. He finally became the youngest champion in history but was ousted by his rival in what remains as one of the greatest battles in history. Blue learned the error of his ways and changed himself to become a better trainer and a human being. He had fallen in love with Leaf, his childhood friend and became the father of Gary and Daisy Oak. Blue served as the gym leader for Viridian City for about three years after the fall of Team Rocket but eventually went missing while searching for clues about an ancient Pokémon in the Sinnoh region.

Leaf was the third of the trio and was the weakest of the bunch. However, she was still the strongest female trainer in history and rewrote the limits that a woman could achieve in the profession. She was a major fan of Pokémon Contests and was instrumental in the event being recognized by the Pokémon League. Although she retired from active contests after giving birth, she was still popular worldwide.

The story of Ash Ketchum was the newest addition to this legend of Pallet Town. At the age of 50, although he was much older than his predecessors by then, Ash had became the strongest trainer in history by defeating Red at the Pokémon World League finals. He had reached the top but not without suffering many losses, some far too great to be ignored. Yes, he was the strongest in the world but he had no family. His better years were spent retraining his team to catch up with all of his friends who had left him in the dust. He never knew the cost of his trigger happy attitude until it was almost too late. By the time he finished his travels, almost all of his Pokémon, including the strongest ones had lost their battle senses, gradually turning into dull passive Pokémon. In an ever increasingly competitive world, it didn't take much time for him to be left behind. The regular entries into the knockout stages of the League became sporadic breakthroughs and lucky entries. The Pride of Pallet Town became a joke for many of the upcoming trainers while the ones who knew his potential were disappointed. He ended up cutting all human ties except his mother and a select few.

The boy who met all the Legendary Pokémon became griped with a feeling of inferiority that nearly destroyed everything he stood for. He did a lot of things that he did not want to think about. It took him years before he could bring himself back on the right path.

By the time he could retrain all his Pokémon into their prime, all of his friends had reached the peak of their lives and career and had started to settle down and have a family. Even Serena, who was the one who tried to remain with him, finally had to give up and move on. She and Brock were the only ones that invited him to their weddings. The others, some of them who he had regarded as his own sisters, had felt too embarrassed to associate with the man he had become. From then on, he was obsessed with battles. The original kind disposition that made him Ash changed into a hunger for wins at all cost. He started his journey again, this time destroying anyone who was unlucky enough to cross his path. Many of his Pokémon left, unable to keep up with the new training. The ones that left were replaced by stronger Pokémon with more hunger to be strong. It took him twenty years to return to the main event and another decade to truly reach the top of the pyramid. But once he reached there, he realised that it was lonely at the top.

Delia, who had always supported him through the thick and thin, had left him a few years back and moved on to the afterlife without waiting to see her son finally making something out of himself, Standing atop the futuristic Tower of Champions, he was thinking of ending it all when he met him, the one existence that changed his life forever.

"You look awful for a guy that just got crowned as the best in the world." A heavy voice interrupted his rather suicidal thoughts.

"Who's there?" Last time he checked, this tower was inaccessible to people other than the ones he had allowed.

The man who walked out from the shadows was rather tall fellow. His face was not particularly handsome but you could tell at first glance that he was fit. He had black hair and brown eyes and wore a black and orange hoodie.

"Your life was a major clusterfuck, wasn't it Mr Ash Ketchum?" The guy said.

"I'll ask again. Who are you?" Ash was not in the mood for games.

"If I was to describe myself, I would say that I am a god. Not Arceus but someone like that." The guy said.

"Good joke. Now please get out of here. I don't know how you got here, but this is private property." Ash said.

"As expected you don't believe me do you? Alrighty, let's get this over with quickly." This was all he heard before the scenery around him went white and he was standing in a completely different place.

"Where am I?" Ash had experienced a lot of shit in his lifetime and teleportation was one of them so he was cautious yet curious as to where he was.

"Welcome to the Hall of Origin. Home of the Creation Pokemon Arceus and the birthplace of the Origin Trio and Mew. Before you ask, I'll say it again that I am not Arceus. Arceus is that overgrown horsy thing that's sleeping over there." The man said in a rather jovial tone while pointing towards a corner of the giant room.

As someone who had been personally acquainted with the terrifying might of the God of Pokémon, it was rather shocking that there was someone who could talk about the divine creature with such carelessness. He could see the Pokémon God sleeping away his time until his presence was needed once more.

"What's going on?" He was still terrified because he didn't have a good impression about being blown into oblivion.

"Don't worry kiddo. I have masked our presence so he wouldn't be able to sense us under any circumstances. He'll comfortably sleep there for until he feels like it is time to wake up. But do you believe me now?"

"Yes I believe you. Now take me out of this place." Ash exclaimed.

"Fine." The scenery around them shifted as they were back to the top of the Tower. "Now let's go back to business shall we?"

"All right. What does a God want from me?" Ash said.

"Nothing much. I'm bored and needed some entertainment. That's where you come in."

"Me?"

"Yes you. You are one of the central characters in the multiverse. Your original was created by a Great Elder God. Me and multiple smaller gods make our own version of your story for our own entertainment." He said.

"So you are telling me that I am nothing more than a puppet playing for your fun?!"

"Well yes but no. Believe it or not, I had nothing to do with how shitty your life turned out to be. I just randomly thought how your life would have turned out if you had to take responsibility for your actions and this world was created. I was supposes to intervene much earlier but I kind of forgot about it. But don't feel bad. I will make it up to you by letting you live a great life from now on. That was the reason I came here in the first place."The guy said.

"Really?"

"Yes. Really. I am going to send you back in time to your childhood. Also I will be giving you a massive advantage over any of your counterparts. From what i know of the multiverse, not a single one of your counterparts has received a hack as massive as the one I'm going to give you."

"What is it?" Ash was excited.

"Well. The ability I'm going to bestow upon you is called 'Hacking'. It basically allows you to make changes in reality to make life and training easier. Normally speaking, this is impossible as Arceus is given charge of maintaining reality but I wanted to make it up to you so I'll make it so that this will be overlooked by them. What do you think Ash? Do you want to receive this power? You might lose your feeling of glory and victory will probably be boring."The god said.

"I agree." If he was his younger version, there was no doubt that Ash Ketchum would decline this offer. But a lifetime of Loneliness was enough to change his views about life. If he could achieve his dreams easily, why should he lose that chance?

"Great. Now let me get started. Normally, cheat codes have to be manually entered but since you have no idea about that, I will create a system for you. It will make things easier for you. There are many options in the system that will be unlocked as you progress through your journey. Also I'm going to remove your emotions associated with the memories from your age 20.I don't want you to act like an old man. Your mental age will be regressed back to 15 so that you can cope with things better. Don't worry though cause your memories will be intact." The God was blabbering away.

"Thank You." Ash said.

"No problem. Now Let's bind you to the system. Remember kiddo, I'll be watching over you." These were the last words Ash heard before his entire vision went black.

Welcome Host Ash, system request you to agree with its terms and conditions before it can allow the host to wake up."

This was what Ash saw when he finally regained his consciousness. "I agree." He said.

"The system thanks the host for agreeing. The system now requires the host to wake up and receive host's starter Pokémon and the Pokedex from Prof Oak."

"Wait! I'm ten again?"Ash was excited. He thought whatever happened before was all in his dreams.

"You are correct. The creator has sent he host to the day your journey first started. All hacks available will be unlocked after the host reaches Prof Oak's lab. For future communication with the system, the host only needs to think about it. More details will be given in the future."

Thus, the absurd story of a boy with a cheat system and his second life began.

Hello there people. This is a small repair of the original Prologue of this story. I had received a small message from a reader that the original version really sucked. (He was super nice about it by the way.) So I decided to change a little bit here and there and polish it up cause most of the people that read this never gets past the first chapter. I hope this version sucks less. Anyways, the next chapters will be revised as well.

Anyways, please continue reading if you think that I have scope for improvement.
