He couldn't believe this was happening, he had been declared a loser after they cheated, that crimson haired harlot bitch had used magic against him. He looked up to see the knights revealing Raphtalia's slave crest. It was hopeless she was going to leave him and then he would be
"ON YOUR FEET!" a voice from his past shouted, looking around he was in shock
'It can't be, can it?' Naofumi asked mentally as he no longer heard the sounds of the crowds murmuring about how he had lost, but rather he heard rifles, marching, engines.
"ON YOU FEET! NOW CADET YOU THINK THE COVIES WILL FOR YOU TO GET UP" the phantom drill sergeant of his past shouted in his face
"No sir" Naofumi said struggling to his feet, he closed his eyes as the sound of battlegrounds was much different than the ones he had faced during the wave. Once he opened his eyes no longer were they full of regretful rage, but something else "HEY MORONYASU, YOU COMPENSATING FOR SOMETHING WITH THAT SPEAR!" he shouted
"Give it up you lost" Motoyasu said
"I'm standing, that mean the fight is still on" Naofumi said
"Whatever give it up man you lost" Motoyasu scoffed
"But you did receive outside help" a dark haired you man said as he and a guy around his age walked out, these were Ren and Itsuki, the bow and sword heroes respectively
"What are you talking about?" Motoyasu asked
"Myne used some kind of wind spell on Naofumi" Itsuki said
"I DID NOT" Myne shouted
"Shut up princess" Naofumi said before a bright light shone on Naofumi
"What the?" Motoyasu asked
"You may only know my name and age, but let me give you another bit of information on who I am, I am Corporal Naofumi Iwatani, UNSC MARINE Corps ODST Division!"
Soon the sound of a helicopter was heard
"A Helicopter?" Ren asked
"That would be a UH-144 Falcon class transport" he said as the vehicle landed in the arena, out of it came several men in what was weird armour. Naofumi snapped to attention
"Gunny SIR!" Nofumi said
"At soldier Helljumper, so this is where you've been" the Gunny said
"Sir yes sir, I'm sorry sir!" Naofumi said
"It's okay soldier" the Gunny said
"he wasn't lying about being a MARINE!" Itsuki said
"Heh, like that will do anything" a Knight said
"Oh goodie a volunteer" he said smirking before he aimed
"Did I miss something?" Buck asked
"I'll debrief you one we're out of here" Naofumi said
"I guess, MEN FALL BACK!, we'll head back to the Infinity" Buck said
"RAPHTALIA!" Naofumi said
"Master Naofumi!" Raphtalia said as she was behind two knights
"I'll grab the girl, you guys get on board" Buck said as he ran over, knocked the knights away, threw Raphtalia over his shoulder and headed back to the falcon. Mickey was on the Minigun preparing for its use.
"STOP THEM!" Alutcray shouted as the knights rushed forward.
"Pilot, get us out of here," Buck ordered as the Falcon started to take off. Myne held out her hand as a gem on the bracelet
"You're not going anywhere with that poor girl you enslaved" Myne shouted making Buck frown before Naofumi shot at her
"Piss off Bitch!" Naofumi said as he threw an object down there
"GRENADE!" Motoyasu shouted as the heroes threw their parties to the ground and covered them before a cloud of thick red smoke covered the area "NAOFUMI!"
"See you" Naofumi said before the alarms went off
"What is it?" Buck asked
"We're going down!" the pilot said
"what?" the ODSTs said
Upon the rough landing the guards surrounded Alpha Nine
"SEIZE THEM NOW!" Aultcray said
"Don't let them get away!" Myne shouted
"No, not again" Naofumi said
"Naofumi, hey Naofumi oh shit BOSS!" one of the ODSTs Dutch shouted to Buck
"IWATANI, HEY come on snap out it" Buck shouted
"I WON'T LET YOU DO TO THIS PLANET THAT YOU DID TO HARVEST AND REACH!" Naofumi shouted as a black haze escaped his shield.
"Not good" Mickey said
"Master Naofumi calm down" Raphtalia said
"DIE YOU ALIEN BASTARDS!" Noafumi shouted as his shield flickered from silver to black.
"MASTER NAOFUMI!" Raphtalia shouted as she embraced him, the flames erupted from the shield burning her
"I'VE HAD ENOUGH! THE COVENANT, HARVEST, REACH, EARTH, THIS WORLD I'VE LOST EVERYTHING" Naofumi roared as lines of red formed on his face. "Even Raphtalia, I'VE LOST HER AS WELL" he shouted
"Master Naofumi, I'm right here" Raphtalia said
"why are you her, your precious spear hero saved you, so go join his party" Naofumi seethed
"I"M NOT LEAVING YOUR SIDE MASTER NAOFUMI" Raphtalia cried out
"You're just saying those things, you don't need me! You're just going to mock me, WHAT ELSE DO YOU WANT FROM ME!" he shouted before feeling a pair of gentle and warm hands on his face
"I'm thankful, this shield and you have saved my life so many time, remember during the wave, even though you couldn't fight well, you still used it to defend all of us" Raphtalia said
"To be honest, I didn't do it for them" Naofumi said
"You have to it doesn't matter your actions saved all those lives, even the ones you thought didn't deserve it" Raphtalia said
"I'm not that nice of a guy, even with you, I used you as a tool, a weapon for my advantage" Naofumi said
"It doesn't matter, because you still rescued me" Raphtalia said
"STOP IT!" Naofumi shout I'VE FAILED ALL THOSE WORLDS, AND NOW I'M JUST TRYING TO SAVE MYSELF!"
"Master Naofumi, I may know you better then you know yourself" Raphtalia said in this world, I know your kindness. So even if they speak ill of you. I'll defend you from them and remind them what I did, you gave me a purpose in this life, I'll always be with you whether it's as your sword or whatever you need, no matter what" Raphtalia said as she went from young child to a beautiful young woman
"On your feet soldier" a voice said as a green shadow walked by them, "we may stumble and fall, we may lose. But at the end of the day we're here to face uncertain and unjust odds, to save those who can't defend themselves" the shadow said
"I'll always be with you" she said hugging him as light poured over him
"Now on your feet, we still have a fight to win" the green shadow said
'I guess I didn't hear them before, but now I see clearly' Naofumi said as he stood up, his barbarian like outfit changed to his ODST uniform, in his hand was his SOCOM Magnum
"You're the great shield hero" she said
"Raphtalia?" Naofumi asked "You're no longer a kid?"
"I am, and I will be here for you" Raphtalia said
"NAOFUMI!" a voice cut through the ether
"Before it was just you and me as a team, and we need each other but now, you have them, your friends" she smiled
"On your feet" Buck said as he helped Naofumi up
"SIR YES SIR!" Naofumi shouted as he dried the tears from his eyes, the moonlight streaming over them, He locked and loaded his main weapon and looked around
"What is happening" Motoysau said
"I have no idea" Ren said
"FALL BACK!" Naofumi said
"YES SIR!" the ODST said as they followed Naofumi.
"I'VE GOT IT!" the pilot said started the engines again
"ON BOARD!" Buck shouted as the team got on board. Naoifumi looked behind him.
"Thank you Raphtalia" Naofumi said
"For what?" she asked
"Saving me" he said as the Falcon was skybound.
"So where to?" Naofumi asked curious
"the Infinity" Buck said as he watched Naofumi and his partner fall asleep
"Credit for your thoughts sir?" Dutch asked
"Once we're back on the Infinity" Buck said.
"Yes sir" Dutch said as Buck looked away frowning
"THIS IS UNTHINKABLE!" the king shouted
"To think Naofumi had military training" Itsuka said
"And the army he works for just showed up to give him back up" Ren said
"That just makes him more dangerous" Motoyasu said
"We must get rid of them at any cost" the princess said
"You saw their weapons!" Itsuka said
"Yeah, but we have magic" Myne scoffed
"And they have the ability to kill armies quickly, and who knows what else they have on them" Ren said
"I agree, but he can do whatever he wants" Motoyasu said
"And that mean retaliate if we strike first, and I doubt we'll be the winners" Ren snapped
"All that matters is that Melomarc is saved from that fiend" Aultcray declared.
"Indeed daddy" Myne said unaware of the queen's shadows in hiding.
"OH MAN!" Naofumi exclaimed as he hopped out of the Falcon and into the hangar on the Infinity seeing all of the mechanics and engineers "I missed this" he smiled
"Welcome back" Buck said "now I want something answered"
"YO IWA!" a voice shouted as an ODST and a medic rushed up to him
"Joe, Bernie!" Nofumi shouted as his hugged the pair, Raphtalia surprised when he kissed the blond
"And who is this?" Bernie asked
"He's slave" Buck said
"What?" Joe and Bernie flatly asked
"Its complicated" Naofumi said
"Well uncomplicate it real quick, because you're needed for a debriefing" Bernie huffed before turning to Raphtalia and rubbing her head in a motherly fashion "Don't worry you'll be okay, I'm sure there was a good reason behind enslaving such a darling young woman" she said hugging the Raccoon Deminhuman
"There is, so who's debriefing me?" Naofumi asked
"Oh you have got to be kidding me" he said as he walked into a room which held Admiral Lord Terrance Hood, Dr Catherine Halsey, Buck and Captain Thomas Lasky
"Welcome Corporal Iwatani" Lord Hood said as Naofumi walked in and saluted
"SIR!" Naofumi said
"At ease" the admiral said "So we have a basic understanding of what happened her, but there are some things we need clarification on"
"Such as sir?" Naofumi asked
"The girl, you call her a slave" Buck said making the others in the room shocked
"Explain Corporal!" Hood shouted
"SIR! In their world slavery is a legal practice" Naofumi said "There are three races, humans, demi-humans and beastmen. The people of this kingdom uses the last two as slaves. And since I am the shield hero I am unable to use any other weapon, and because of an false accusation against me, that I forced myself on the princess when I did not, so I am unable to form a party, plus the king and all others but a few trusted friends seem to want me dead; so I bought the girl Raphtalia as a slave. At the time she was sickly and close to death. I healed her, nursed back to health and treated her like a younger sister or daughter SIR!"
"And how long ago was that?" Lasky asked
"A month ago sir" Naofumi said
"so she went from child you young adult in a month?" Halsey asked
"Yes ma'am, it has something to do with the forces governing this world and their physiology " Naofumi said
"I see" Halsey said
"So you had this girl as your slave due to unfair circumstances correct?" Lord Hood asked
"Yes sir" Naofumi said
"And this girl wore an item dubbed a slave crest?" Lasky asked
"Yes sir" Naofumi said
"Did you use it?" Buck asked
"Only once" Naofumi said
"And why was that?" Bernie asked writing something down before typing something into a computer before a green light passed over Raphtalia 'incredible, her age is linked int her experience, so the more she 'levels' up the older she gets. But I think she's hit her peak' she noted
"I was scared since I staring at a monster that destroyed my village and killed my parents" Raphtalia said
"You poor thing, and that was the only time Naofumi used it?"
"Yes, in fact Master Naofumi didn't treat as a slave, in fact he treated me like my parents would, or even a sibling" Raphtalia said
"I see, may I see your chest?" Bernie said making Raphtalia nervous "Oh don't worry, I'm a medic, a doctor"
"Oh" Raphtalia said removing her shirt, revealing her breasts to allow Bernie to examine them.
"I See" Lord Hood said
"Is that all" Buck asked
"Yes sir" Naofumi said "But what about the wave?"
"How do you think we discovered you were on this world?" Buck asked
"You mean, you saw?" Naofumi asked
"We do have an idea" Halsey said
"What's that?" Naofumi said
"Naofumi Iwatani, for your efforts in this first wave in defence of a potential enemy, I hereby promote you to the rank of Lance Corporal" Lord Hood said
"Thank you sir!" Naofumi saluted
"And from now on, we'll be helping you in fighting this waves, Marines, ODST...SPARTANS" Lesky said
"Wait, Spartans?" Naofumi said
"Indeed, in fact a SPARTAN extracted you" Lord Hood said as he smiled a Buck
"You're joking sir" Naofumi said "but why is Halsey here?"
"Because we believe this world has Forerunner tech" Halsey said
"What?" Naofumi said
"MASTER NAOFUMI!" Raphtalia shouted as she, Bernie and the rest of Alpha Nine rushed in, once they saw what was happening Raphtalia blushed "Oh sorry"
"It's okay Raphtalia, what is it?" Naofumi asked
"You have to see this" she said
"No freaking way" Naofumi said as he entered the room Raphtalia lead him to,
"You recognise this artefact?" Halsey asked
"I do" Naofumi said as he summoned his shield and a beam of jade light hit the jewel
"Looks like you're registered to this one" Naofumi said
"So what is it?" Halsey asked
"A Dragon Hourglass, the heroes use this to level up and determine how long we have to prepare for the waves" Naofumi said
"And how long until the next wave?" Buck asked
"A month" Naofumi said.
"Alright then, let's get you ready" Buck said
Elsewhere in the world, a figure wearing Green armour walked up to a spire of light and looked at it. He frowned in his helmet before looking around as he placed the assault rifle on his back before seeing the dozens of bandits he had dealt with, he noticed they didn't look like those of his time, but what he really frowned at was the people in the cages, they had animal features but looked mostly human
"Where am I?" he asked after freeing them.
G'day Guys Grizz here and HAPPY NEW YEAR GUYS and while I'll be working on some of the leftovers of last year such as my 10th anniversary and 200th fics you guys will be getting new fics such as this one, now being a fan of Halo and just going back and watching Shield Hero, this idea popped into my head where Naofumi was an ODST and will have the back of the UNSC, namely the Infinity, Buck's team for Halo 3 ODST, Fireteam Osiris will show up and so will Blue team, heck the Chief was in here as well. So I hope you enjoy this
