Something was wrong.
Very wrong.
Bell Cranel… If that was who he really was, was making his way to Orario. The city of the most populated area of gods, and the place where the dungeon layed, Bell didn't know too much about how it would work. Only that he would have to be blessed by a god/goddess to actually get much stronger and have any chance in the dungeon. Well, that was all he really knew. They never explained how in his super tiny village, but he's sure once he goes into a familia, they could easily explain it.
Then he would achieve his dream, becoming a great adventurer, maybe even a hero. As for his grandfather's dream of Bell getting a harem… He would have to start with maybe picking a girl up from the dungeon, saving her… But he'll put that one at the back of his mind.
Bell got too excited though at the site of Orario. While he was walking down a hill, he was too deep in thought of what familia would accept him, and how his adventure would start. A lump formed from the ground caught his foot, he tripped and rolled down to the bottom of the hill, and there was a rock at the end perfectly placed to hit him in the head, which of course happened.
Tomura Shigaraki.
Shimura Tenko.
A whole slew of memories washed through his mind. Though the strange part was, in this barrage of memories, he couldn't remember this memories childhood. Or was it his memories?
...His… past childhood was almost nonexistent. He remembered snippets of going to the park, but doing nothing in particular. But man, the technology was so advanced in these memories. Later memories of him being slightly older was him playing video games, which seemed super fun. Either that or Bell's village was really old school, not bothering to mention modern technology.
But the close to the beginning of these memories started with him being saved. Saved by the only person that would stop by to help.
It's so weird, he remembers feeling alone until Sensei came, he even remembered the words clearly.
"No one has come to save you have they? You must have had a tough life, Shimura Tenko. 'Don't worry, a hero will help.' 'Certainly a hero will…' Who decided such horrible things as they looked away from you?" His sensei embraced him. "It's ok, I am here for you."
Heroes, they couldn't save him. Society looked away from him as another hero's problem.
Yet he wanted to be one?
Every other part of the memories were straightforward once you understood the basic premise. The world was filled with people having unique abilities called quirks. He had a quirk that let him decay things when he made contact with all 5 of his fingers… Though he never really trained in terms of physical abilities. In that place it was fine, everyone relied on their quirks anyways.
But he failed to become Sensei's symbol of fear. At the USJ, he went to go kill the stupid frog girl to get at All Might's pride. But the last thing he saw was a green haired kid with green energy charged at him as he yelled smash like All Might. He had a countermeasure for All Might, Sensei's bioengineered Nomu made it as strong as him to take his punches, he could have called Nomu to stop the punch, but he was caught off guard, and since that was the last of his memories, it was obvious he died there.
Now he was in a dilemma. He was Bell Cranel, but he was also Tomura Shigaraki.
As… Bell layed down for minutes with this information, he eventually sat up with a blank look. If he were to be honest, he was thinking more like Shigaraki. Maybe it was due to him being older, but the memories of his childhood being blocked made it feel even in terms of time. Maybe it was the fact that his past self died that he felt he was originally Tomura Shigaraki.
But even with that, it didn't completely discard the feelings of Bell Cranel. But the memories of Tomura did make him consider some things. For how heroes were in that world, he didn't know if he wanted to be a hero now. And he felt like saying he would be the best example of a true hero was unrealistic, and kinda cheesy.
Plus, the word hero was definitely something of a toxic word for him now.
Tomura wanted to destroy hero society because he hated it, Sensei said it was his right to destroy anything he hated. But now there was no heroic society. The gods in this world were never pictured black and white, never good and evil, and never considered heroes.
So what would Tomura do now? Well, he would destroy anything he hated… Mostly. The life he had now wasn't so bad, and there weren't many things to hate, and would he want to immediately do that? He was also Bell Cranel, and Bell Cranel's wish to become an adventurer didn't seem too bad an idea, and even if it did counteract with Tomura's simple minded wish to destroy, it would still conflict with Bell Cranel.
He didn't know what to do… He would have to wing it and see how being an adventurer goes.
Bell shook his head out of thought. 'I guess I should head to Orario then…' Bell slightly gasped as he noticed the grass he had his hand on to slightly lean back was decaying. He quickly put his hands up and got onto his feet. He saw where the grass once was where he put his hand, now a small pile of dust and dirt.
Bell looked at his hands, and slowly kneeled down to put his right hand down to the ground to a daisy flower, picking it up with 2 his index finger and thumb. Standing up he looked at the daisy as he put 3 fingers on it, then 4, and then finally all 5 fingers were touching the daisy. The flower disintegrated in seconds before his eyes, now just mere dust in the air.
'...I still have my quirk?' Bell thought in confusion. This didn't make any sense at all, how would him remembering stuff from another life give him back his quirk? What? Was his memories holding him back?
'This whole thing doesn't make any sense… I should just accept it for what it is. It doesn't look like I'm gonna get answers.' Bell thought as he turned to look at Orario.
"Of course, even now I don't have a lot of money."
/
"No… Nothing personal but I don't think our god would accept you." The man for the familia Bell wanted to join said.
"Whatever." Bell said as he turned around walking away. He heard a slight sigh of relief from the man as he closed the door to the familia's home.
His plan, or lack thereof, was not going well. No one wanted to accept him into his familia, either saying he didn't look like much, or some implying that he was weird/scary. He sighed as he wandered again, looking up to see stars, it was already so late. He was going to have to sleep on the streets, which wasn't too far off from what his daily routine was when he wasn't home.
Oh, and as for his name. He decided to stay with Bell Cranel, he knows he's still Tomura Shigaraki, but he decided it would be proper to use the name he was born with in this world. Another factor was the fact he didn't get bothered when he thought about the missing hands around his body.
He didn't know if that was a good thing or a bad thing, but he didn't care.
Bell looked at the empty street due to the night time. It was like his village in terms of technology, or lack thereof from his previous life. No huge tv's in the middle of the streets, no giant buildings except the tower of babel. He got that information from a guy he met offering him a map. Bell just gave him a nonchalant look and told him he was broke, but the man was kind enough to give it to him for free.
But yeah, no video games, no tv, only a community that relied on gods and their blessing. It was what it was.
Bell was about to turn into an alleyway, when felt something wet hit his nose. Then something hit his cheek, then his forehead. He looked up and felt more droplets of water hit him lightly. "Tch, great, 1st I can't get into a familia and now it rains?"
Bell heard a gasp, which turned into the happiest sigh of relief he's ever heard from the alleyway he was going into. He heard the voice that was clearly female, coughing slightly to clear her voice. "Well, I can help you with one of those problems."
Bell tilted his head at the alley. "Huh?"
The lady walked out into the street, she had blue eyes and black hair tied into twin ponytails. wearing a white mini-dress with a blue ribbon around her collar and another tied around her waist, back and arms. "Hello my child, I am the goddess Hestia."
"Ok." Bell said.
"Uh-Uhm, I heard you couldn't find a familia, would you like to join mine? You would be my first child." She looked like she accidentally added that last part, considering her look of hesitation.
"...Oh, sure." Bell said.
"Please reco- Wait… Really? I mean, alright! I am your goddess Hestia from now on." She beamed.
"Cool." Bell said.
"You know, you're not really talkative aren't you?" She deadpanned, breaking out of her charismatic persona.
"Is that any way to talk to your 1st member?" Bell tilted his head. A part of him regretted it. Even though he was way more snarkier now, he still had a polite side of him.
"...Let's just go home to give you your falna… Er, my blessing." Hestia said.
Bell perked up. "A home? You got money then?" Bell was almost delighted, he wasn't completely broke per say when he lived with his grandpa in this life, but there wasn't a lot of entertainment with the basic village.
Unfortunately, he saw Hestia nervously chuckling.

Hestia didn't know what to think of her 1st child joining her familia. Now obviously she was very happy, she got her 1st member, enough said. But why did her 1st child act so angsty? He had a slight rasp in his voice, though it wasn't too noticeable, it just felt out of place when you heard it, like it didn't belong there. And he was always blunt, not the type of emotionless blunt as if he was oblivious to everything, but the blunt of honesty and uncaring tone. But she didn't want to judge her child too much, she didn't even know that much about him.
They walked inside the abandoned broken down church she lived in. While walking down the stairs and entering the main room with everything in there, the only obvious different room would be the bathroom.
"Uhm, so this is where we're going to live…" She twirled to see her child walking down to the bottom with his hands in his pocket, as he looked up and around the room in an uncaring look. "Uhm, sorry, like I said, I don't have a lot of money… In fact I'm in debt, but I manage here."
"...It's fine, nothing new to me." He said as he grabbed his backpack with 3 fingers off his back and placed it to the ground next to him as he sat on the couch in the middle of the room.
Hestia slightly frowned at that, maybe she picked up a troubled child, but it didn't matter, he was her familia child now. "So uh… What's your name?" She didn't know why she decided to wait till now to ask for his name, but whatever.
"Hm?" He looked up at her, stopping his motion of unzipping his bag. He looked back down and did so with his right thumb and index finger. "Bell Cranel."
Truth. She smiled as she heard his answer. Obviously you couldn't lie to a god or a goddess. "Well Bell, do you want me to give you your blessing now?"
He was taking stuff out from his bag, again stopping the motion to look at her. "...I guess I could do that 1st."
She chuckled. "Ok, take off your shirt and lay down, belly down on the bed."
"Uh, ok." She stood waiting as he, for some reason, slightly struggled to take off his shirt, using his thumb and index finger only.
Once he did, he went on the bed, but didn't lay down, just kneeled with both knees facing away from her. "You know you can lay down."
"I don't want to."
Great, it wasn't a huge deal, but whatever. Kneeling behind him, she grabbed a small pin, poking her right index finger, bringing out some blood. She did her chant as she drew her symbol on his back, the blood disappeared and his stats appeared on his back.
His stats were all 0 like every adventurer's starting stat was… But.
Bell Cranel - Level 1
Strength - I0
Endurance - I0
Dexterity - I0
Agility - I0
Magic - I0
Skills - Decay: Has the ability to decay anything with all 5 fingers of each hand.
...What? Decay? He had a skill before receiving his falna? Now it wasn't completely unheard of, in fact she's met a couple of other races that had skills before they joined a familia. But it wasn't exactly common.
Her eyes widened in realisation. 'Is that why he wasn't using all 5 fingers when he was taking his stuff out? And when he was taking his shirt off?' "B-Bell… You have a skill to decay things?" It was such a blunt question, she wanted to slap herself. She was just caught off guard she said something stupid.
"Hm? Oh… I guess so." He said. Not moving.
"How long have you had it?" She asked. Again, someone with a skill before getting a falna wasn't common, especially to find. If someone found out about it, they would instantly want them in their familia.
"...For a while." That answer wasn't exactly satisfactory. But it could just be that he didn't want to talk about it, maybe when he opened up more he would tell her. But if he had this all his life. It didn't sound like you could willingly activate or deactivate it when you could. If he had it at a young age…
She shook her head as she grabbed some paper, and stamped his stats from his back on it. Once it was on he gave him the paper. He grabbed it with his thumb and 2 fingers.
After a while, he chuckled as he seemed to finish reading his stats. "It's like a video game RPG."
A what? "A video game?" Though it was good to see him smile, no matter how small it was.
He shook his head. "Nothing, you wouldn't get it."
Yes, Hestia didn't know what to think of her familia child, Bell Cranel.

Eina Tulle was a guild receptionist. Her job wasn't the greatest, in fact when she started she thought it would be quite fun, but that wasn't the case. But the job paid well, and she took it seriously. She wasn't an emotionless robot though, it was just a lot of her job was straight business. She was content with this job, but wouldn't mind a surprise or something to keep her interested.
And Bell Cranel was somehow both of those. Now his being his advisor
Eina sighed as an adventurer took his valis and walked away. She was only halfway through her shift, and not much was happening. She walked to the front counter, deciding to do some paperwork as a co-worker took her place of exchanging rares for vails.
As she made it to the front, she noticed a figure walking in with a dark green jacket with the front open with a single concealed button at the top. He also had a hood on that looked like it was sewed onto. The jacket had some pockets that his hands were in, and the edge of what appeared to be black gloves on his wrist. She gave him a curious look as he seemed to glance around, before making his way to the front desk.
She thought she heard him mutter something about an… NPC? Maybe she just misheard him. But then he spoke up. "I was told to come here to sign up to be an adventurer."
Oh, that's what it was, a new adventurer. She nodded as she slightly leaned down to a drawer filled with applications of sorts, she took one out and handed it to the boy. Now that he was right in front of her, she could see he had white hair with bright red eyes. If she was honest, he kind of looked like a rabbit. "Ok, I'll just need you to fill this out. It'll just ask you some basic questions like your name and your god or goddesses name."
The boy took the paper, and grabbed a pen from the stack of pens on the front desk. He quickly filled it out and gave it back.
She read the contents. "Bell Cranel… Good… Hestia… Alright." She placed the paper down as she stamped an approval on it. Of course they don't just blindly accept people like that, they need to get a signature of the god they put down.
"Ok Bell, so you need to take this sheet to your goddess, and she has to mark it. Once that is done, you can be registered. Let me explain some rules though." She raised a finger. "The Guild takes no responsibility for any losses in the dungeon, including an adventurers' own life. Illegal activities over a limit were subject to a penalty. If an adventurer is placed on the blacklist, they won't have any assistance from the Guild and any magic stones or drop items would be confiscated."
The boy seemed to perk up at that. "You can get drop items?"
Eina stared at him for a second. "...You're that oblivious to the dungeon and adventuring?"
"...In a huge sense, yes. I'm kind of new here." Bell said.
Eina tilted her head as she noticed a slight rasp in the boy's voice. It wasn't disgusting or hideous sounding, it just sounded out of place. "Well, if you're that oblivious, I would suggest getting an advisor, they can help you with information on the dungeon, and suggest some things for you."
"Hmm, like a tutorial character." He mused.
"...Yes." Eina had no idea what he was talking about anymore, but he nodded regardless.
"Ok. Now, here's another sheet." She gave him a sheet that would ask him what type of advisor he wanted in terms of race. Obviously some people had their preference, whether that was blatant racism for other races or…
She shook her head of that thought. "You can put in what kind of advisor you want. Return that with the other sheet and we could set you up."
Bell hummed as he took the papers. "Thanks, you were a real help today. I'll be back tomorrow."
Eina was caught off guard by the sudden genuine thanks, he looked like a shady person who kept to himself, she guessed she couldn't judge a book by it's cover. "O-Of course. Maybe I will see you tomorrow."
He turned around and walked out.
'What a strange boy.'
The next day came faster than expected.
And now she was in a room with only herself and Bell from yesterday. He came in and turned in the papers and it was filled out, and the preference he put in was an elf. Honestly, Eina should have just left it be and have someone else do this advisory thing. But she was just so curious about the boy for some reason. In the end, she decided to become his advisor.
And that's how we got here.
"Hello, you might remember me from yesterday, I'm Eina Tulle, and I will be your advisor." She smiled. The room was just a simple small square room with 4 wooden chairs and 1 wooden table.
Bell was sitting on one end of the table, so she decided to take the other end, which wasn't far at all. She leaned in and offered a handshake. "I look forward to advising you."
He stared at her hand for a second, before taking his gloved right hand out of his pocket and looking at it for a second, then accepting the handshake. "I guess I never introduced myself, I'm Bell. Bell Cranel."
She sat down comfortably as she was ready to tell him about the things he didn't know, which was apparently a lot if he didn't even know you get item drops from yesterday's conversation. "Ok Bell, so you don't know a lot about the dungeon, tell me what you do know and we'll start from there."
He looked down at the table before looking back at her. "I know that this is where monsters spawn, and there are multiple floors of the dungeon, but that's all I really know. Everything else is just stories from my grandfather."
The longer he talked, the more noticeable the rasp was. Again, it felt out of place. But she doubted he was doing it to act cool or anything. "I see, I can give you the rundown on floors you should start on and what floors to avoid for now. I would suggest buying the starter pack in the guilds shop, you'll get standard light armor and a dagger, which should be ok for now."
Bell hummed, but then shook his head. "I like the sound of the light armor… But I don't know about the dagger."
Eina slightly frowned. Sure a dagger wasn't anything too valuable or impressive, but he needed to know his limits. Perhaps he was really underestimating monsters.
She was about to retort until he kept talking. "It's not that I think it's useless or anything… It's just… You see, I have a skill that lets me decay the thing I touch with all 5 fingers, so I don't know if I want to invest in a weapon I could accidentally destroy."
Eina's eyes widened. "What? But you just recently got your falna no?"
"I've had this for a while now." He said, looking out the window.
Eina couldn't believe it. She heard some people having skills before receiving their falna, but they weren't exactly common. She shook her head, she was overreacting. Sure it was bizarre but it was just a skill… An active passive one from the sounds of it, but still just a skill. "I see, so you can't willingly activate or deactivate it, hence the gloves?"
"Tch, detective of the year." He grumbled.
Wow, what the hell. She gave him a slight glare which he didn't finch from but acknowledged. "Sorry."
Seriously, why did he sound genuine in some of his praise and then snarky and sarcastic in the next? She sighed. "Well, I guess I can give you more information in all there is to know about the dungeon, but why don't we talk to get to know each other 1st, if you want?"
She wasn't even that interesting of a person, she just sent money to her family, that was about it.
He seemed to think for a second before nodding.
They could go back to the suggestions later. She would probably suggest the starter pack, but maybe just have a dagger as a backup, she would see if he was really persistent in using his skill rather than a weapon and try to work around that.
"Ok, I will go 1st." She told him about her parents, she told him about the school she graduated from and then applying here. Of course she didn't tell him about her likes or hobbies, just how she got to this job. After that whole story, he seemed to genuinely smile, that smile looked good on him. Almost innocent like a rabbit.
"I guess I can go next… Though I don't know where to start." He said as he looked down.
"Well what about when you were a kid? I bet you dreamed about being an adventurer from your grandpa's stories right." She chuckled. She didn't know anything about his grandpa, only that he apparently had one from earlier comments.
"Yeah… It was fun before he died…" She flinched, maybe she shouldn't have brought that up. "but…" He seemed to hesitate his next words. "I also had a sensei of sorts."
Of sorts? "Hm?"
"...I don't really know my parents." He started. "In fact, some of it's a blur. All I remember is walking alone in the streets… I had no idea where I was going…"
She frowned as she imagined a small white haired boy, walking around the streets… This was getting heavy.
"Maybe if… Somebody… The only thing I remember was Sensei walking up to me. 'No one has come to save you have they?' I remember his words so clearly." He seemed to be in a trance of sorts, remembering his story. "He told me… 'Somebody else will… I'm sure someone else would come to help.' 'Who decided such terrible things as they looked away from you? Don't worry, I am here for you.'"
Eina slightly bowed. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring back memories like that."
"No… I feel like I needed to share that. Thank you for listening." He said with a small smile. If only he could act so polite all the time, she would like this side of him.
But it decided to go away as he frowned. "So… How do I get money?"
Yes, Bell kept Eina surprised and interested.
A/N
So yeah, a kind of Tomura in Danmachi fic. Except it's both Bell and Tomura. The best way to think of it, is a nicer Tomura Shigaraki, with Bell's insane growth.
But don't worry, some of Tomura's murderous motives will leak out, it's not just nice guy Tomura. He will want to kill some people that really annoy him. But he's also not just a blind killer thanks to Bell though.
So just think of it as Tomura/Bell would only ever really kill someone if they were beyond annoying to them. Which is why the title of the story should be a give away that the only thing they're only going to really despise is the dungeon. More like specific monsters, but they're just gonna blame the dungeon for spawning them.
So yeah forget everything I just said, I have no idea what I'm doing.
Till next time.
