Disclaimer: I own nothing but the Self Insert and this fanfic, everything else belongs to their respective owners.
I want to welcome everyone to the new revised chapter 1 of this story and I hope you enjoy what you are about to read. I'm not sure if I will write any lemons or just have them implied and mentioned.
Since I couldn't find that many DxD Fics that centered around Greek Mythology or had a Greek setting, I decided to make my own using what little DxD provided. I had inspiration from Percy Jackson, God of War, Greek Mythology on the internet and my own knowledge. If you actually took the time to read this part then you will have seen God of War being listed as an inspiration for the fic, so you could probably guess that there might be some gore in it. Also no I'm not following the God of War or Percy Jackson stories I'm just using inspiration. Once again, I hope everyone enjoys the story.
I'm just going to do a quick review of some of the original chapter 1 reviews here:
andrew1011; Thanks I hope you enjoy the story.
Diabolos-Aides; I'm sorry to have to make you wait for chapter 2 but with me rewriting the story, I had to start over for chapter 2. Luckily the ideas I have for chapter 2 are still able to be used.
Bearticguy7; Thank you, I wanted to have the story focus more with Greek Mythology and what better way to do that than to have a cross between a Greek Demigod and a Minotaur.
Naruto009523; Thanks for the support, hopefully I'll have the next chapter out soon.
Winter meteor; Thanks for the support.
mataeae123; I'm disappointed with the lack of imagination that YOU possess. DxD has very little information regarding Greek Mythology that can be used to write a story which forces me to improvise since Greek Mythology is going to be very prominent in this story. While Odin is awesome I am more familiar with Greek Mythology and that is why I am writing about a son of Zeus. A Minotaur isn't as annoying as being half human. In fact being human in DxD is pretty generic as all a human does in DxD is integrate himself into the plot and basically says he doesn't want to be a devil while basically doing Issei's job for him. Also a Minotaur in DxD is done very often, it's actually quite rare which is why I chose the Self Insert to be a Minotaur. Try thinking about this: A Demigod Minotaur that can wield thunder and lightning, and cause storms. Now tell me that wouldn't be pretty cool.
Ptwilson; Thank you for the support.
nirmtheworm14; I made a mistake with that scene that I've pretty much rectified, hopefully it isn't that irritating to read now.
I died. It's quite a shock to be honest; not only did I die, but I'm still somewhat conscious despite my death.
I lived in a city in Ontario by the name of Barrie until I moved to Cobourg, a small town built right next to Lake Ontario. I had moved there five years prior to get away from my new stepmother who sounded like a banshee and I had also received a very generous job offer there which was a bonus.
Then a couple weeks ago it began. It started small with light rain and the weather being slightly windy, but over time it grew so much worse; small showers became drenching downpours and some of the smaller trees outside of my apartment building had already been uprooted. I was aware of the hurricane that was slowly ravaging New York and Pennsylvania at the time, but I just carried on with my business since the hurricane was expected to turn away from Canada and return to the Atlantic Ocean. Except the hurricane was now heading straight towards Oshawa, Canada. Everyone in the town was losing their minds and I couldn't blame them since Oshawa wasn't that far away, and the situation wasn't looking good.
I wasn't exactly what you would call mature, actually comparing me to Michael Scott from The Office wouldn't be inaccurate. So in my infinite wisdom I decided to catch up on any anime I wasn't caught up on since I didn't want to be further behind when we eventually lose power. What I didn't account for was the hurricane practically rushing towards Canada and I didn't even have a chance when the streets started flooding.
I tried to escape by rushing to the roof of the five story apartment building, but it was useless since my apartment building was on lower ground and it was close to a river on top of Lake Ontario, it was easy to say I was fucked. I managed to get to the roof, but by the time I did, the water had reached the fourth floor and it wasn't stopping. I then heard the awful creaking and groaning noises of the apartment building next to ours as it began to tip over and head straight for the building I was standing on.
With a tremendous smash, the buildings met and I felt my apartment building violently shake as it lost what little stability it had and began to tip over which threw me into the raging currents of the flooding streets. I was confident in my ability to swim, I was a lifeguard during the previous two summers, but this weather shattered my confidence in my ability to swim; I doubt I could even stay above water.
All around me in the water, debris was either floating or sinking depending on its weight. I reached forwards to grab some debris and as luck would have it, I had managed to grab a plank of wood that was floating to the top. I could remember vividly how elated I was that I was floating up, how I might actually survive. Unfortunately the current of the flood started to increase its pace and a piece of rubble smashed into my leg breaking it and causing me to let go of the plank. It didn't stop there as a piece of debris got caught on my pants and began to drag me down faster and deeper into the watery depths below.
I was trying to get my pants unstuck, but then decided against that as it was becoming too difficult so I took my pants off and tried to swim upwards. I didn't make it though, since my leg was broken, I was exhausted, and my vision faded before all I saw was black.
Just like that, I died and my body was swept away by the floods raging currents.
Now, I'm here... which is well here I guess? I'm not too sure since there isn't any light or anything, but I don't understand why I'm still conscious when I died.
I'm not really a religious person so I don't know what happens next; do I go to Heaven or Hell? Or is this really the afterlife?
"It's not the afterlife, it's simply a gateway from one world to the next."
"Who said that?" I ask while looking for anything that was not black... or something that had color.
"I did, though I recommend you don't try to look for me. I don't have a body and this space has no light, but if you still wish to waste your time then go ahead."
"Who even are you?" I ask.
"The question is irrelevant, but if you wish to call me something, then call me Mr. August, it's fitting since the current month is August."
"August... The hurricane hit the town in June." I say.
"Two months have passed, I've been busy relocating those who've lost their lives... no one was prepared when the hurricane sped up."
I didn't know what to say. According to 'Mr. August' so many people had died that day. How many of them were my friends? I'd rather not know.
"What now?" I ask while trying to keep my head from thinking about the hurricane and the devastation it left."
"Now, it's time for you to decide... What do you want to do next? I can send you to the world of Harry Potter with a unique esoteric magic that only you and your descendants can learn. Maybe you would prefer to be sent to Fairy Tail where you can live the life of an adventurer and maybe find a better reason to live than to work. I could also send you to the world of Highschool of the Dead where you can experience a zombie apocalypse... besides, if you survive, then you can upload a video saying how you survived 100+ days in a zombie apocalypse. It's all a matter of choice and desire, so feel free to choose anything you want... and I'll make it happen."
It's all a matter of choice and desire? It sounds too good to be true, I should be careful and not ask for anything too outrageous.
"Could you send me to High School DxD?" I ask testing my luck and hoping it isn't rejected. I chose High School DxD because it was a series I was familiar with starting with the anime. Sadly the anime isn't the most reliable for information given that the studio that originally made the anime was replaced for fucking everything up. For starters the series doesn't get dangerous till later on in the series and if you get strong enough before that point, then you are pretty much given plot armor.
Like really, High School DxD was a series about a boy being turned into a Devil as a way to save his life. Then the boy and the Peerage of the Devil go about their daily life, but it's filled with nudity and shenanigans revolving around tits. The first actual villain was a glorified stripper with wings and a very sharp glow stick; the second 'villain' was really just a horny kid with anger issues that wanted to marry the main girl of the series.
Since I was going to be reincarnated into High School DxD where power levels aren't that consistent; I didn't really have to worry that much as long as I trained a lot and surpassed countless other supernatural entities through sheer hard work. I mean it shouldn't be that hard to do since the majority of the supernatural beings are extremely lazy.
Besides, DxD was a much easier world to survive compared to Naruto, Fairy Tail, and Highschool of the Dead in the early stages of their series. Highschool of the Dead was only dangerous because of massive hordes of zombies and how anyone can betray as they would prioritize their life over yours. Seriously in the first Volume, the main antagonist Raynare was a colossal failure that accomplished nothing but driving the current Red Dragon Emperor into enemy hands and giving him PTSD over confessing to girls.
Now compare Zabuza and Haku, the first main antagonists to Raynare and you can easily see how pathetic the Fallen Angel really is. Zabuza took on an entire army of mercenaries while terrifying the shit out of them before he died, he also was able to fight Kakashi and hold his ground which is also impressive. Not to mention Haku could easily beat the other Fallen Angels which isn't really saying much as they were weaker than Sasuke was in the Wave Mission.
"High School DxD? If that is what you truly want, then I can easily do that, but I'm curious; is there nothing else you desire? Or would you prefer to enter as just an ordinary civilian with knowledge of what is to come?"
I completely forgot about everything else as I was too busy thinking about the location of where I would reincarnate to.
What do I want to reincarnate as? I had far too many options as I could be the heir of an extinct Devil Clan, maybe a Fallen Angel or an Angel. I could end up becoming the reincarnation of a hero. I had to think very carefully now as what I choose will be very important and it can either be helpful or harmful.
Humans were weak in DxD, the Devils had a very powerful weakness to light and holy objects; wouldn't something divine also hurt them since Gods are generally considered as holy figures of worship? I could reincarnate as a God or a Demigod which would then force me to pick a God or Goddess to become my new parent which would allow me to inherit their power. Angels are a hard pass as I like to use my dick and becoming a Fallen Angel just doesn't have the same appeal to me as being a Demigod.
I want to stand out though, I want to be something unique... something that no one else is. Demigods are technically Hybrids as they have one human parent and one divine parent, but can't I choose something other than a human since I already was a human and now I want to try something different. So I plan to become a Demigod Minotaur Hybrid since it stands out and grants me immense strength and durability along with the power from my divine parent. It would make me a very dangerous force to be reckoned with, and that was something I wanted... to stand out as a legendary figure in the supernatural world of DxD.
I couldn't think of a weakness for either one of them, which was a plus. I could have chosen a Demigod Dragon Hybrid which sounds cool, but it doesn't feel as unique as a Demigod Minotaur Hybrid... it doesn't stand out as much; sure a Demigod Dragon is impressive but I've never heard of a Demigod Minotaur before.
Now that I have that decided I had to think of what else I wanted. I knew I still had to choose a Deity to be my parent, I was going to try and get some extra powers or boost them to unparalleled levels; I also feel like getting a companion to make my experience more unique.
So many choices to make... though I have no idea which of anything to choose. I could choose Hades, God of the Dead and command endless hordes of reanimated skeletons to do whatever I needed; though I'm not exactly sure how I would be reborn given that Hades in DxD is a skeleton. I could also choose Poseidon, God of the Sea and sink entire islands and live underwater; there is also the bonus of being able to conjure lightning and storms as Poseidon is also a God of Storms like his youngest brother, Zeus. Then came the last of my three main choices for a new parent, Zeus, God of the Sky and Thunder, he would definitely cause the entire supernatural side of DxD to turn their gazes on to me. While that is exactly what I want, it wouldn't be the greatest idea to be very well known before I have enough power to defend myself.
I can't choose Hades as my parent given his appearance as a skeleton. That leaves either Poseidon or Zeus and they have similar abilities given that they can control lightning, water, and air. Zeus is easily superior with his lightning and wind powers as he is a God of the Sky, but Poseidon is easily superior to Zeus in terms of water manipulation. So I'll choose Zeus and if that request is declined, then I'll go for either Ares, Apollo, or Dionysus... if I choose Dionysus then I'm going to introduce DxD to the Cthulhu Mythos.
"Zeus, I want Zeus as my new divine parent." I say while still thinking over this extremely big choice.
It may not be the greatest idea to choose the most renowned Olympian, but it would also offer me some protection as no one would want to start a war with an entire Pantheon. Then again, if I play my entire second life safe then I won't get anywhere in life... and I would just be another son of Zeus. Besides, Zeus was an absolute beast in the majority of his depictions; God of War, Percy Jackson, DC, and Record of Ragnarok. The aforementioned all show Zeus as an incredibly powerful Deity that could obliterate everything in his way given the setting. So being the son of the King of Olympus and a Minotaur would boost my chances of surviving in DxD during the early stages of my second life where I'll be the weakest.
"I can accept reincarnating you as a son of Zeus. Though I hope you can hurry up and finish making your decisions since you are taking quite some time."
Next I have to try and grab as many powers as I can to further boost my chances of surviving my early years and become stronger than anyone else in the entire series. I should start small like attempting to get genuine Divine Lightning instead of the watered down version that I most certainty currently have, then try to get as many abilities as Zeus does in Percy Jackson and the Olympians... after that it's simple, the Gamer with endless potential.
I can already imagine it. A Minotaur with a Chidori or a Rasengan in my hands as I cleave through entire armies while creating a legend far greater than my new brother Hercules left behind. I could see myself breathing out a torrent of thunder from my mouth like a dragon while decimating everything in my sight. My imagination ran wild as I continued to think of all that I could do, and that is before the extra knowledge I have from different anime and other series... with the knowledge I have... I could leave a legacy that depicts me as the strongest of the Greek Gods. The Chidori and Rasengan are cool and all, though they were created by chakra and not magic; imagine how powerful the Chidori would be if it was created by a Demigod that can control thunder and lightning.
"Can I get genuine Divine Lightning instead of a lesser variation like Holy Lightning, all the powers that Zeus possesses in the PJO series, and the Gamer with endless potential?" I question while hoping I can get them all.
"I can indeed grant you the first two requests, but the request of being the Gamer will not happen."
Sadly, my dream of being a Gamer was crushed. Though I noticed he didn't say anything about the infinite potential portion of my request.
"Hey, you never mentioned anything about the infinite potential part."
"That's because you already have infinite potential if you can obtain immortality where you do not age and cannot die of age or illness. In other words, should you obtain Eternal Life, then you can train for as long as you would need to reach your goal no matter how long it takes. In other words as long as you breathe then you have infinite potential to reach beyond the stars themselves."
While my dream of being a Gamer was no longer an option; being told that I have infinite potential as long as I don't age certainly boosted my spirits and gave me another goal in DxD. Obtain an Eternal Life then I can become the strongest being in existence as long as I train and work for it.
"And then there was one, the companion. Choose carefully as some are not willing to share you if another woman should they be in a relationship with you; it would also be a waste if you wanted someone from DxD as your companion and you wasted this opportunity."
Great, now there's pressure... technically more pressure; it's not like I'm making my second life or anything.
Back to the subject at hand, I need to choose a companion that wouldn't mind being a sister-wife or a harem girl. I can cross off a majority of human females that I can name since humans are exactly thrilled about polygamy. Now I have to think of a more inhuman woman... which is tricky since I don't really know that many and I'm not sure if they would be compatible with me.
I could choose someone from That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime since I'm more familiar with that series compared to others which house characters that I'm aware of. I'm thinking of either Shion, Suphia, or Albis; mainly because they have some unique designs and they also can manipulate lightning which makes them pretty compatible with me. Though each of them have their ups and downs; Shion wouldn't get along that well with any other women and if I chose her then I would be forced to travel to Japan and potentially be forced into the absolute clusterfuck of a plot. Suphia may be more open to the idea of a harem, but her personality might cause too many problems, not to mention she likes to fight everything in sight which can be a little annoying. Then there is Albis, she was already in a polyamorous relationship so a harem would be the a high possibility; though she is the most likely option for me as a companion, if she isn't already guaranteed.
Actually Albis is the woman I'm going to try and have as my companion because I can't actually think of any problems I have with her. She is actually the perfect choice, Albis was quite powerful and she is quite good looking, and she reminds me of another legendary Greek mythological figure, Medusa. She is similar to Medusa since she could petrify anyone that she looks at... she can also paralyze and poison an opponent with her unique skill.
With Albis as a companion, then I would be able to perform some unique combo attacks similar to Kratos and Atreus' combo against Baldur. One of them could be Albis petrifying an enemy which would open them up for me to finish. Honestly Albis is the perfect companion since she can make killing an enemy far easier with her support abilities, this can also come in handy with stronger and faster enemies.
"Can I have Albis from the series That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime as my companion?" I ask, hoping that I'm allowed this since I was denied being a Gamer which left me feeling a little down.
"I'm baffled that you've chosen her, rather than another. Then again, it proves you are able to learn. Time for you to go, you have an adventure to go off too."
Wait. Would Albis still have her memories of her original life and original world? Would she have already been married or was she a copy or another version of the character? If she remembered her original life and world would she hate me, or would she try to kill me since I'm literally ripping her from everything she knew just to be my companion. Or am I just worrying for nothing and she would be reborn in DxD just like me. Would she have no recollection of her past world and life? I have far too many questions that lack answers.
Is it wrong that I actually hope she doesn't have any memories about her previous world and her previous life. Fuck, I hope everything will turn out alright.
"Wait, will Albis have any memory or not?" I manage to spit out before I'm sent on my way.
"That... is not for me to tell you, it's for you to find. This is the beginning of your adventure... and my part is already coming to a close; farewell Mr. Demigod."
The next thing I knew, my body felt as if it was spinning before being compressed and sucked into a portal.
In a hospital room in Tripoli, Greece, a woman with dark brown hair and blue eyes known as Anya Cirillo had finished giving birth. With one look at her son, she instantly hated what she looked at, she had finally been blessed with a child after years of being told she was sterile, but... was she as blessed as thought if what came out of her was a beast? She couldn't call it normal because normal human babies don't have small ivory nubs on their heads. She had birthed a Minotaur, not a human, so how did her one chance of having a child turn into this... freakish abomination?
Nine months ago, Anya Cirillo was an archeologist that was working on an excavation ever since something big and new was unearthed. She returned to the city late at night after another day of finding nothing, so she went to the nearest bar to drink till she forgot how her team had found nothing for over a month. Then she met a well dressed older man, but what she never knew was that the stranger was no ordinary man, it was Zeus, the King of Olympus.
It's not like she knew that the man who impregnated her was a genuine God. He introduced himself as Zeke, an inspiring entrepreneur that started up a drill company. The duo got drunk at the bar, chugging down bottle after bottle, though Zeus drank a more unique alcoholic beverage straight from his son's collection. By the time the pair had left the building, they decided to end the night with a bang. Anya had a very peculiar kink that she was ashamed of... bestiality, she was sexually attracted to having sex with animals and when she revealed it to the God, he had transformed into a bull and proceeded to lay with her.
That's how she was impregnated but if she knew that she would have a beast instead of a child, she would have killed it. Nine long months, and instead of a young boy that she could celebrate having, she gave birth to a monster.
And if there was one thing she knew she had to do... it was to kill the demon before it could become a threat. She didn't give birth to a little baby, it was a demon... no matter what form it took on, a demon is a demon. Besides, as a good Christian it was important for her to do this as demons would attempt to corrupt the innocent and steer the world away from God.
"Kill it," she whispered.
"What was that Ma'am?" The doctor questioned.
"Kill the abomination!" The new mother shrieked as she thrashed around screaming obscenities. "Don't you see it's horns, it's a demon!"
"Miss Cirillo please calm down, it's been a stressful experience for you, and the horns might just be a medical condition that's all," The doctor said in a panic while the nurse was shaking in fear.
"Kill it or we'll all die," Anya screeched while trying to reach out for the newborn.
While everyone was in a panic in the room, the nurse grabbed a surgical knife and hid it behind her as she slowly started to move towards the newborn. That wasn't the only thing that happened as the lights flickered followed by the sky rumbling, and a man with golden hair and golden eyes walked into the hospital with a furious expression on his face.
The sky continued to rumble as the golden haired man walked closer to the room where his son was and when he opened the door, he saw a surgical knife about to stab into the defenseless baby. He acted, with a great burst of speed he caught the arm holding the knife before he shocked the nurse into a coma and erased her memories. Then he sped towards the doctor and swiped his child from the doctor's arms; the man then looked the doctor in the eye before the doctor was knocked unconscious with his memory of the day being erased.
Then he created a barrier around the room to trap the noise in it so that no one else can overhear the conversation that was about to unfold.
The only two people still conscious in the room were Anya, the new mother, and Zeus, the God of the Sky.
Zeus turned his eyes towards his son as he created a thin layer of water to wipe off the blood, before he rubbed the small golden blonde tuft that his son had inherited from him.
"Zeke?" Anya whispered in disbelief while she blinked multiple times to confirm the sight in front of her. "How are you here?"
"It's been centuries since any of the Greek God's have had children... this infant is the first in so very long," Zeus said while lifting his head up to speak with the new mother.
Most of what the God had said flew over her head, but when he spoke of the infant, her zealous rage towards the child was reignited. "How did our child turn into this freak? This unholy demon spawn? Zeke, what did you do?"
"My name isn't Zeke, and I've done nothing but give you what YOU desired,"
"What are you talking about?" She questioned as she started to tremble with rage at the implications while ignoring the 'My name isn't Zeke' portion.
"So you don't remember confiding in me your kink and when I told you that I could transform into an animal... you jumped for joy at finally being able to further explore your desire."
"It was you... you're the demon," She said with a horrified gasp. "It's your fault, it's all your fault, you did this to me. You gave me that... wretched thing."
"Are the consequences of your actions too much for you to handle?" Zeus questioned with a slightly amused tone.
"Consequences? I'm being punished for laying with a demon. Obviously there are consequences you son of a-" Anya screamed but was interrupted before she could finish her sentence.
"Do you regret this mortal?"
"Of course I do, why wouldn't I regret everything if my child looks like a beast." She snarled at the Olympian as he shook his head.
"I blessed you with a child of divine origin, my child, a Demigod. I blessed you with the one thing you've always yearned for and yet could never have because of YOUR sterile womb. But my thanks for literally giving you a gift from a god is for you to lash out in a zealous rage and push your hatred on our child?" Zeus said angrily as a spark of electricity crackled off him. "No... you don't deserve a child for it is far too clear that you are unable to handle the responsibility. This infant in my hands is no longer your son... I am his only parent now."
"A GIFT? How can a demon bastard be a gift?" She shrieked in outrage. "This horrific creature is a curse, it is as far from a gift as can be, and you want me to be happy that I've brought this monstrosity into this world?"
"Yes, I do expect you to be happy since your womb is barren once more. Also the label of monstrosity is being given to the wrong person as you are showing your true colors." Zeus said as another spark of electricity crackled off him shooting into the medical equipment which promptly blew up. "Tell me... did your precious Christian God give you this child... or was it me?"
"Obviously it was you, you filthy demon," She responded coldly before sneering. "After all, I'm just a normal human... unlike you and your little bastard."
Zeus was growing tired with this little performance of hers, he thought back to better memories with her. She was normally a kind and gentle woman, but after being given a child... she proclaimed it to be a monster and he to be a mere lowly devil. Zeus had mellowed with age as each century and millennia passed, he had grown wiser and less temperamental... but this performance of hers had gone on long enough and he would no longer tolerate this.
"I have had enough of this farce, you would not only curse my name but my son's? You spit in my face after I give you your deepest desire and the one thing you could never have without supernatural intervention; and my thanks is this?" I think not." Zeus responded with a louder voice as the pressure in the room increased. "A child is a gift ought to be embraced, especially a child you have birthed with my blood in it. Yet it seems you can't not be trusted to be responsible for my child."
"Why would I want your little bast-" She started, but was cut off instantly.
"Your opinion is no longer welcome, and you are in need of punishment for the crime of your actions committed within the span of an hour."
"Punishment? For what? Not wanting to take care of a little monster?" She sneered further provoking the god.
"Your punishment would have been light, but you continue to provoke me and I am of the belief that your punishment should be more severe."
In the supernatural world and mythology, the Greek Gods were infamous for cursing those that would slight them, deceive them, or even attempt to deceive or anger them. Zeus was responsible for many of these punishments, but he wasn't the only one that punished and cursed those that had earned their punishments.
Apollo had given a human named Cassandra the ability to see the future if she slept with the God, but upon gaining the ability she abandoned the deal. Apollo let her keep the gift because he had decided that since she was untrustworthy, then her words were also untrustworthy and shouldn't be taken seriously. Cassandra could see the future, but none would listen to her... they believed her to be a madwoman.
Demeter had cursed a king named Erysichthon with a perpetual hunger because he had cut down trees from Demeter's grove. The king was extremely conceited and thought that he was important enough to get away with the disrespectful action. Erisychthon would eat everything in sight, until there was nothing left in sight but his own flesh, and he would eventually eat himself alive.
Artemis had transformed the hunter Actaeon into a stag because he spoke. Actaeon had stumbled upon the Goddess while she bathed, and when she caught him, she told him that if he ever spoke again, he would transform into a stag. Actaeon didn't believe her and called his dogs over, and just as he was told, he transformed into a deer, when the hunting dogs came over, they didn't see their master, though they did see the deer which they killed.
Zeus chained the Titan, Prometheus to a rock and cursed him to have his liver be eaten every night by an eagle and in the day his liver would regenerate and the process would continue once more. This was because Prometheus gave fire to mankind and for his defiance towards Zeus and the other Gods.
Another example of Zeus dealing out harsh punishments would be forcing Sisyphus to push a massive up a hill forever, only the boulder would roll down the steep hill and Sisyphus would have to push the boulder back up the hill forever. This was because Sisyphus was a cruel king who had kidnapped the nymph Aegina and for this he was banished to the Underworld. There he received the everlasting punishment of pushing a boulder up a hill, only for it to roll back down as he watched his hard work result in failure over and over.
The punishments that the Greek Gods could come up with were creative and sadistic and they would inflict them on those that earned their ire were vicious and cruel.
This gave Zeus an idea for a punishment for the mother of his new son. Everything that she has said about his son, every negative thought that ran through her head, every action that she wants to commit towards his son.
She calls the child monster; even though he is no human, he is not the one who acts like a monster. She is the one who acts like a monster, she has revealed her true colors when she gave birth; so why not help her step into the light?
"I've decided what punishment is most fitting for you."
"Oh no, he's going to curse me and turn me into a filthy demon beast like him and his bastard." Anya further mocked the Sky God.
"That is exactly what I'm going to do." Zeus calmly said before the woman began to glow while Zeus ignored her pleas of mercy.
"Anya Cirillo, you have earned this punishment and now I see fit to see it carried out as your actions against my son and I have been deemed monstrous. I curse you to transform into a monster as you walk across Greece on all fours like the beast that you are to become, with your transformation complete you shall begin to grow ravenous with an insatiable hunger for as long as you live. You will never be free from this curse as you suffer through the rest of your pathetic life in agony as your time dwindles until the very son you despise... kills you." Zeus intoned with a booming voice as the woman instantly began to transform.
In the place of a once beautiful woman was now a three meter quadruped with an elongated face, matted dark brown hair, and tusks protruding from the lips. Its eyes were completely red, her nails sharpened to the point till they could slice through skin as if they were cutting ribbons. Now stood a monster that could bring a young child nightmares with ease if they caught a glimpse of her, she called her son a monster and a demon, and that was what she became.
Anya writhed in agony as her transformation finished, then she took a glance at her hand and dashed out of the hospital.
Sighing, Zeus took a look at his son before teleporting them both to Mount Olympus there he could grow up in a safe and healthy environment where he would be cherished.
The person to greet Zeus upon his teleportation to Mount Olympus, was his wife, Hera, Goddess of Marriage. One look at her, and Zeus could tell, she was beyond furious... Hera was downright murderous.
There was no denying that Hera was one of the most beautiful Goddesses among the supernatural world; she wore a blue toga and a golden crown rested on her dark brown hair, she also had blue eyes, and a beautiful face second to none, but it still made Zeus guilty seeing his wife's face plastered with an expression of envy, hurt, and rage.
"Another one... how many times will you do this to me?" Hera spat while eying the father-son duo with disgust. "How many times will you treat our marriage as a joke?"
"None ever again... this was an accident." Zeus responded with a straight face but anyone with a brain could see he was ashamed.
"Explain" Hera harshly whispered.
"I had gone down to Greece and I was at a bar when a woman approached me so indulged her in conversation. It went downhill from there as I decided to open a bottle from Dionysus' collection and nine months later a new Demigod was born after centuries. It's just one mistake, and I'm ashamed that I have done this even though it's been nearly two thousand years since I've done this last."
Hera took a deep breath in before she spoke. "I'll admit that you have done admirably as you haven't slept with another woman since before the Great War, so I'll be far less drastic towards your child. Make no mistake... this WILL be the last time this ever happens, am I clear?"
Zeus exhaled a breath of relief he didn't realize he was holding in at his wife's words, but before he could speak, Hera spoke up again. "Although I am going to be going easy on the child, it doesn't mean he is off the hook... and neither are you. For the first twelve years of his life, he will not grow up here on Olympus, and he will complete a few labors of my choice and if you want to, we can bring this up with the others and see how they vote."
Within half an hour, many of the Pantheon's members had gathered around their chief Deity and his wife in the Throne Room. What was once an annoyance of being summoned turned to intrigue as they all saw the infant cradled in the Sky God's arms.
The first to arrive was Poseidon, the God of the Sea. Poseidon had long grey hair with green eyes, and looked like a friendly elderly man wearing a blue toga with golden accents on it with sandals. Some would think that Poseidon was weak given his older appearance, those people were either idiots or dead idiots as Poseidon was one of the Trinity Gods of Olympus and the third strongest God.
After Poseidon was Hephaestus, the God of Fire. He had the appearance of a scarred middle aged man with brown hair, brown eyes, and a thick beard reaching his chest; he wore a brown leather welders apron with the same colored gloves, boots, and black pants, and the apron was smeared with grime and oil.
Next came Hermes, God of Messengers. Hermes looked like a young adult with curly blonde hair and brown eyes; he wore a white shirt with white shorts and had sandals with wings attached to them. He also had a helmet with wings attached on both sides, and in his hand was his staff, the Caduceus. The most noticeable thing about Hermes was the ever present mischievous grin on his face that promised some form of trickery and chaos.
Following Hermes was the God of War, Ares. Ares was a massive man with the appearance of a scarred man in his late thirties with short spiky black hair and glowing blood red eyes. Ares wore a heavy set of dark grey armor with silver accents, his gauntlets and boots were covered in spikes, and on his back was a long black cape.
Then came Demeter, the Goddess of Agriculture. She appeared as a beautiful woman in her late twenties with warm brown eyes and blonde hair the color of wheat. She wore a white dress with a green laurel wreath on her head.
Alongside Demeter was her sister and best friend, Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth. She appeared as a beautiful woman in her forties with light brown hair and glowing amber eyes that radiated warmth. Hestia was different than most of the other Gods and Goddesses since she didn't wear ornate clothing fit for royalty, instead she opted for a simple brown robe with a hood that wasn't over her head.
Then came the God of Wine, Dionysus. He took the form of a chubby middle aged man with grey eyes, curly black hair and a beard; the God of Wine sported a plain purple toga and a golden laurel wreath adorning his head. Currently, Dionysus' grey eyes were bloodshot either from drinking or making more alcohol... the answer was anyone's guess.
After Dionysus came Athena, the Goddess of Wisdom. Athena took the form of a beautiful adult woman with long brown hair in a golden spartan helmet with a red plume and steel grey eyes. Aside from the helmet, Athena wore a plain yet elegant white dress with a golden cuirass with a red cape, and lastly she wore golden armor on her shoulders, forearms, and legs.
The next Deity to arrive was Aphrodite, the Goddess of Love. Aphrodite was an extremely beautiful woman that appeared in her early twenties with wavy blonde hair that was decorated with flowers and blue eyes. Aphrodite wore a light pink peplos dress that showed off her incredibly voluptuous figure as it did little to hide any of her private areas.
Then Artemis, Goddess of the Hunt arrived. She was a beautiful woman that appeared to be in her twenties with black hair and silver eyes; Artemis wore light armor over a white dress, silver armor on her legs and arms, and on her back was a quiver filled to the brim with arrows.
After his sister had arrived, Apollon the God of the Sun was next. Apollon, more commonly known as Apollo. He looked similar to his sister with curly black hair, though his eyes were a bright orange compared to her silver eyes. Apollo wore a white chiton with golden accents, golden armor on his chest, legs, shoulders, and arms, and lastly was a golden quiver on his back which was completely full.
Last to arrive was Hades, God of the Dead, and the strongest member of the Trinity Gods of Olympus. Hades was unique compared to the other Deities because they had skin while Hades did not; he had the appearance of a tall skeleton adorned in regal clothing that would leave Kings and Queens envious, and in place of his eyes were two glowing blue lights. The reason Hades had the appearance of a skeleton was quite tragic.
Zeus was able to hear all of their murmuring and curiosity pertaining to why he was holding an infant, though some of the smarter Deities like Athena and Hades had already figured out the reason. "Thank you all for coming on such short notice. I can tell you are curious as to why I am holding the infant... that is because this child is my son, and the first Demigod born in ages."
"It doesn't entirely explain why you've had us all gather here though." Athena said while actually showing a look of curiosity.
"That is correct, it is because Hera and I have come to an agreement." Zeus responded before taking a breath in and exhaling. "We ask all of you to vote on whether my son is to be raised on Olympus or if he should be raised in one of the Minotaur herds."
"While Zeus is voting for the Demigod to stay, I am voting for the opposite." Hera responded while taking a sip from a glass of wine. "Please cast your vote and if you wish to, you may give a reason for your choice."
"Now this is truly a surprise, here I thought this would be some boring little meetup, but who knew that I would gain a new nephew today. Anyway, it would mean I would have someone to spoil and corrupt, plus it would be a marvelous idea to show the kid the wonders of the female body." Poseidon said cheerily with a broad grin on his face. "So yeah, the kid can stay on Olympus, and if he can't then he gets to experience some of the magnificent women in Atlantis."
A majority of the Goddesses threw disgusted looks and remarks towards Poseidon, who began to laugh boldly, much to the amusement of Zeus and some of the other Gods.
"That will not happen as the child will be raised either on Olympus or in a Minotaur herd. If he is raised with the Minotaur herd then for the first twelve years of his life he will live without any assistance or interference from anyone here." Hera announced while throwing Poseidon another look of disgust.
"I'll abstain, I haven't got a reason to vote either way, but I won't have him thrown off the mountain for being different like I was. Besides, an infant would be a constant distraction and I'm busy with more than a dozen projects so I can't afford to have any distractions until I'm finished." Hephaestus said while tinkering with a small gear in his hand.
Sure, let the kid stay, I haven't got a problem with the little guy running all over the place like Hephaestus does." Hermes voted while a mischievous grin formed on his face. "Besides, I can teach him all sorts of cool shit and a little brother would be amazing... liven this place up."
While his vote was highly appreciated, Hermes' comment was quite worrying for Zeus because Hermes was also a God of Thieves and he often referred to himself as the 'Super Kleptomaniac' in jest. So hearing Hermes' desire to teach the infant some 'tricks' was worrying because having one powerful being with the desire to rob everything in sight was enough; no need for there to be a clone of Hermes adding to that number.
"Well, shit... I mean on one hand, I would like to have him here so I can personally train him and make him into a real man. But on the other hand, if he is with the herd of stinking bulls... fucking hell this is a tough one." Ares shouted while balancing a knife on his nose.
"Ares hurry up and stop stalling." Athena shouted at her brother. "You do this every single time and it is incredibly annoying."
I'm not stalling stupid hag... I'm thinking. Oh yeah, I'm abstaining from this one since I can't decide on what I want." Ares said while flipping Athena the middle finger, which she ignored.
"I'm sorry, but I don't believe a young child belongs to Olympus no matter what his heritage is. I personally think that he should be raised with humans and an illusion should be thrown over him to hide his horns. " Demeter said while looking at her youngest brother.
"Demeter!?" Hestia gasped in shock, having not expected that answer from one of the more reasonable members of the Pantheon. "How could you say something like that? Can you not see that this child needs a proper home that could actually raise him with the requirements he would need?"
"Hestia, you are right in the sense that he needs a proper home, but Olympus is not that home. We are Deities with responsibilities not babysitters, we can't spend a dozen years looking after a small infant. We would never be able to give him the proper care and attention that he would require." Demeter responded.
"It is because of his unique status that he needs a proper home that can provide everything he would need to succeed in life. How can a human household provide the proper amount of food or love for a hybrid child?" Hestia shot back instantly with a slight hint of disappointment directed at her sister.
"So what is your verdict Hestia?" Hera questioned before a more in-depth debate could begin.
"Isn't it obvious? How can I deny a child a warm home, especially one of our blood?" Hestia said in a raised voice.
"A warm speech Hestia, but your attempt to sway the vote in favor of Zeus and the child is quite obvious." Dionysus said while his eyes were no longer bloodshot. "And my vote is to have him sent away, this place is crowded enough already and a Minotaur will grow to be very large and take up even more space."
"I'm sorry, but I don't believe a newborn belongs on Olympus. It's just illogical to have a child raised on Olympus when there is much going on already, and we all have responsibilities; it just isn't logical and he should be with his own kind, that way he would fit in." Athena voiced while flipping the page of a small book in her hand.
"Sure, I have no problem with such an adorable little kid staying on Olympus. I can already imagine getting to squeeze his cute little baby cheeks." Aphrodite giggled. "Who knows he might be a hunk the next time I see him."
'Of course she said something like that... why can't she control her nature more.' Zeus thought as he sighed, realizing how hypocritical the thought was. 'But she is the one who always does this type of thing.'
"No, I don't believe another man should be present on Olympus, much less a beast like a Minotaur that Poseidon and some of the other male Deities want to influence him." Artemis venomously said while looking at the infant with open disgust.
"I don't mind the kid staying, personally I don't see why he shouldn't stay." Apollo said while looking at everyone who voted for the newborn to be sent away and Hades.
Before Hades could cast his vote, the door to the Throne Room was pushed open as the most unlikely of beings entered the room... a Titan.
A Titan in Olympus was a rare sight. Especially a Titan unharmed in Olympus given the intense hatred/rivalry the Gods and Titans shared. But after the Great War, and what the admittedly powerful yet cowardly Biblical did to the Greek Pantheon, the Gods believed that in order to survive they would have to forge an alliance. This alliance was forged between the Gods and the Titans not only for their mutual survival, but for the complete unification of the Greek Faction.
The Titan was absolutely massive even outside of his true form as he easily towered over Ares and Hades. The Titans eyes were the color of coal, his skin was grey and cracked, and black stone shards scattered across his body and formed his beard. The Titan strode over to his throne without a care while leveling everyone in the room with disdain.
The Titan was Epimetheus, the Titan of Afterthought. He wore a black toga with silver accents and the same colored armor with the same colored accents.
And with his arrival, the atmosphere instantly became far more tense. The Titans and the Gods may have an alliance but that was only for defending their home and the Faction members, it didn't instantly solve all problems like the bitter hatred and rivalry they shared.
"What are we talking about Zeus?" The Titan drawled out while looking at the infant.
"We are talking about whether my son should be allowed to stay here on Olympus or should he grow up with a Minotaur herd for twelve years."
"I see." Was all the Titan said.
"I don't believe the child should stay on Olympus. I have no reason as to why he should be sent off or why he should stay, nor do I need a reason." Hades said in a bored monotone voice.
"And what is your opinion Epimetheus?"
"I am also of the belief that he should not stay on Olympus. If some of the others, such as Atlas, Krios, Menoetius, Okeanos, Perses, Prometheus or any of the others were here, they would not allow the child to stay on Olympus." Epimetheus announced while a small lion made of black stone was formed in his hands.
Before any argument could start, Hera spoke. "Well the vote is concluded and while two have abstained, I have the majority with seven votes compared to your six."
"Yes, I can see that and it saddens me to know that my newborn son and the first Demigod in ages must be sent to a Minotaur herd on Crete." Zeus spoke solemnly.
With the result of the vote, Zeus was now forced to send his son away.
It was just a normal day for the Blood Horn Minotaur herd, but it was all about to change the moment the wind started to pick up. Lightning flashed across the sky without warning as thunder could be heard in the sky.
The Minotaurs were all heading towards a nearby forest with some caves for shelter when a massive stray lightning bolt hit the ground right in front of the Chieftain. Exactly where the lightning bolt hit the ground stood a man, but any that were not young instantly knew this was no man. Zeus had arrived, blocking the path of the largest herd on Crete, and in an instant he was surrounded by over a hundred Minotaurs ready to attack him.
The herd was definitely the largest with over a hundred Minotaurs ready to fight him and nearly twice as much behind a majority of Minotaurs with rusted weapons. Even then, they were hardly an issue because after Zeus released a small portion of his divinity, all but one instantly retreated.
The Chieftain.
The Minotaur Chieftain was a large Minotaur roughly six meters tall with thick black fur, a massive chest, arms as thicker than an adult males torso, sharp fangs and claws, and glowing red eyes. On his back was a labrys nearly the same size as him that was heavily stained red with the blood of countless deaths.
"I know you can understand me, but you are unable to respond, but that's ok since all you need to do is listen." Zeus said while the storm above them began to pick up as it started to rain.
The Chieftain grunted in response before it 'spoke'. "Speak little, why invade Sky God?"
If Zeus was surprised that the Minotaur Chieftain could actually speak, he didn't show it; instead he raised a brow before continuing by presenting his son. "This is my son. I am unable to raise him until his twelfth birthday, but upon his twelfth birthday I can raise him. I am entrusting you to raise him, should you succeed and not harm him, then you will be greatly rewarded. If not I may consider the genocide of your species once I've killed your entire herd."
The Minotaur Chieftain grunted in challenge as he disliked this situation more so because it was being forced on him.
"I don't believe you understand, this isn't a request... it is a demand." Zeus said as his eyes sparked. "Now if you wish for your herd to thrive you will abide by my rules and not harm my son. Though if you wish for your herd to die then I dare you to harm my son... see where that gets you."
"Fine." The Chieftain snarled.
Having agreed to his demand, Zeus whispered a quiet spell which painlessly engraved a small tattoo on his son's arm that would last for twelve years.
"Goodbye my son, I will always be there for you... Brontes Taurus." Zeus whispered sadly before he teleported away back to Olympus.
Zeus was gone. Having left his son to be raised by the Minotaur herd as the storm died down, and the now named Brontes Taurus opened his electric blue eyes and began to cry.
"Chieftain Duskfur what are we to do?" A Minotaur with countless razor sharp teeth and a large stomach questioned. "Are we to be mere babysitters looking after the Sky God's unwanted spawn?"
"Do you believe we have a choice, Elder Many-Teeth?" An ancient Minotaur with moss on it's beard shot back. "Because if you do believe that we actually have a say in the matter, then you are mistaken."
"A coward as always Elder Mossbeard. Let the young and battle-hardened Minotaurs deal with Zeus, we can easily snap the Half-breeds neck." A scarred Minotaur with black fur and cold blue eyes retorted. "I've killed Devils and their entire Peerages before, so killing the Half-breed will be far easier and it will eliminate a potential threat."
"Quick to violence as usual Elder Dreadclaw." Elder Mossbeard mocked the younger Minotaur, but before anything else could happen the chieftain spoke.
"No. Elder Mossbeard is correct, we have no say in the matter and an attempt on the child's life will be met with dire circumstances towards our herd." The Chieftain Duskfur said. "But Elder Dreadclaw is also correct, we can easily end the life of the child, but we can do it through one of the Sacred Rites such as the Blood Hunt."
"That... may actually work. Since none of the adults can interfere with this tradition, we would have to entrust the young to do it for us." Elder Mossbeard spoke with a slight grin forming on his face. "We would have to ensure the entire group in that particular Blood Hunt know the plan and are well trained enough to handle a foe such as a son of Zeus."
"So we are in agreement then, yes?" Chieftain Duskfur questioned while receiving some form of agreement from the other leaders. "Excellent, when the son of Zeus is of age to participate in the Blood Hunt we will have the young kill him."
So there will be a harem but the harem will consist of only four-five women and no one else. I'm deciding to keep the harem small because I still need practice writing and I think that if I keep the harem small it would help since I could focus more on character development between the SI and the girls in the harem.
The harem is:
Akeno Himejima: They are both hybrids and the SI could easily Akeno out and help her be more appreciative of her full heritage which includes her Fallen Angel side.
Albis: She is from That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime and she was added because I thought she would fit in rather well in the story.
Kuroka: She desires someone with strong genes to be her baby daddy and a demigod certainly fits in that category, and Kuroka and the SI are sort of similar and they would get along well.
Tiamat: Dragons desire strength and strength isn't just about power, the fact that SI has lightning that rivals his father but would have to train to the same level for it to be as effective proves that he has massive potential. Also the fact that he is pretty much going to grow up surrounded by people who openly dislike him for being different would definitely require mental strength otherwise he would probably snap from being ostracized and isolated.
I'm also considering adding Serafall Leviathan as a way to force the SI into Japan and actually get involved with the plot. It also provides the chance of their being an alliance with the Devils.
Please feel free to leave a review and tell me what you thought of the story so far and have a good day.
