Ch: 1 Good morning sleeping beauty

(Jiro townhouse)

It would have been perfect, Jiro thought as she cried and choked on her sobs.

The early morning sun hitting her face as she awoke in her town house, the birds singing to her softly from the nearby tree just outside her window, her bed so comfortably warm and reassuring. A violet and a love letter on her nightstand. Serene, idyllic. Perfect. In another world or time it might have even sent her into a frenzy of creative song writing.

But things were not perfect.

As she cried and panicked, folding into herself, all she could do was stare at the reasons why.

The letter and the violet. Placed so carefully on her nightstand next to her bed. She knows its content, the words of everlasting love and adoration that in any other context would make anyone swoon, the praises to her beauty and womanhood that would make anyone blush with flattery. The flower itself is perfect, recently plucked, its vase clear and simple. So much time and effort was put towards her. To show her love.

She sobs out as her breath becomes shaky and difficult, her trembling hand reaching for her phone to call the only person she can even think of. In search of security. She thought she was free, having left her apartment and moved halfway across town, going so far as to sell her car to buy a different one. But it wasn't enough it seems. A month of freedom and of calm crashing down around her, as she cried alone in her perfect morning. The phone pressed to her ear as she called out to her friend.

They had found her again. But unlike before, when the letters would be on her door or her windshield, they had come into her room as she slept, defenseless and unaware. The constant question of who was doing this to her had now changed to what else they could have done to her. She rushed to leave her new home for the safety of Yaoyorozu's apartment, always feeling as if unseen eyes were on her.

(Momo's penthouse thirty minutes later)

Momo could count on one hand the amount of times she had seen Jiro cry or so distraught as she was now, she mused while stirring the tea for the both of them. Perhaps the last time being the day All Might died . A day of mourning for the whole nation--but this was different. While the tomboy rockstar was quick to show embarrassment or anger, fear and dread? Those were things Momo never associated with her.

Yet that was the only way to describe the state her best friend was in, but the call she had gotten was a sobbing and tear filled mess that she wasn't able to understand. She walked over to the couch, her heart breaking at the sight of her friend huddling into herself covered in a blanket. She placed the tray on the coffee table before sitting next to her and wrapping an arm around her shoulders. "Hey."

Jiro kept staring, silent as tears still fell from her eyes.

"Want to….want to talk about it?"

After a moment of quiet sniffles Jiro spoke. "Mo. I-I….I'm being stalked." She said through trembling lips.

Momo blinked, holding her friend closer as she swallowed her surprise. "How long?"

"It…it started a couple of months ago." She started, swallowing down her fear and hesitation. "I…I got these creepy fan letters after a concert…at…at the time I just thought it was normal you know? Performers and heroes get that shit all the time." This was true Momo had to concede, the amount of unwanted sexual letters and comments she got from the public was almost unending before she had her fan mail and social media managed via the Commission. "So I just ignored it. Bu-but then they started… " she bit her trembling lip before continuing. "They started showing up on my door just…just taped there. I…I went to the police with it but they said that there wasn't anything they could do."

"What about the Commission, they had to have done something?"

jiro shook her head. "They said that they can't waste resources over letters, that maybe it was just a prank gone too far." She began to cry again as her breathing started going faster. "I-I-I just why? Why Mo why di-didn't they do anything? Why didn't they believe me!" Momo began to hold Jiro closer, stroking her hair as she offered reassurances that everything would be ok, that they'd catch who was stalking her. After a few minutes she calmed down and after evening out her breathing continued. "I…I bought a camera and after that the letters stopped for a bit but…but then they just appeared on my windshield and I knew I had to leave."

"I…I wondered why you wanted to move so badly."

Jiro nodded silently, as they sat for a few moments. "Mo….they came into my room last night."

Momo inhaled sharply as the shock of the statement took hold, her mind racing with everything that could have happened to her friend. Her eyes shut as tears threatened to escape as she cried out. "I…I'm so sorry Jiro. We'll figure this out ok? I swear to you that I'll find out who did this to you." After a few moments of crying and attempts to comfort each other Momo pulled back as an idea came to her mind. "Jiro I need to make a few calls, I think I know someone that can help us." With that she stood going towards her phone and dialed a number. "Shinso? I apologize but I need to ask you something." Momo paused as she was replied to. "I'm sorry for waking you up after your patrol but this is important." Another pause. "Do you have Midoriya's number or contact information?" Her face became red at whatever word Shinso said. "No Shinso it's important, please just do you have a way to contact him." After a moment the phone buzzed after receiving a message and she sighed. "Thank you, I apologize once again." She then looked at her phone and dialed once more.

(Midoriya's studio two minutes prior)

Izuku took a step back to examine his work and nodded proudly.

It took most of the night but he had done it! A complete timeline of known events regarding the League of villains, including its membership and organization, based on witness testimony and gathered evidence .

He'd have to apologize to Nagakura for hacking into his account in order to obtain the various records needed but he felt that the result would be worth it. After all, his encounter with Compress had left him with so many questions, questions that he had to find the answers to one way or another, with two being paramount in his mind. Firstly, how was it that Tomura Shigaraki was able to amass the resources needed to create the Nomu, as well as fund the League of Villains, while seemingly having the mental state of a teenager. Secondly, why did the League break down so drastically once Tomura was placed in a coma after the Kamino incident? Those were of course the only two glaring questions in mind as well as the countless other ones he'd inevitably form during his investigation. Just as he was about to begin marking the status of each member he felt his phone vibrate in his pocket indicating a call. He grabbed his phone and put it on speaker as he started to update his evidence board. "Midoriya consulting agency, this is Midoriya, how might I help you today?"

"Izuku?" He blinked a bit surprised after recognizing Momo's voice. "It's Momo Yaoyorozu. We worked on a case together with Shinso regarding Compress two weeks ago." How could he forget? What was most interesting was the distress in her voice and if recalled he hadn't given her his contact information, Shinso must have passed it to her.

"Ah Ms.Yaoyorozu it's a pleasure to hear from you again, but is everything alright? You sound troubled." He started to mark Shigaraki as unconscious as Momo answered.

"I…" she paused. "I need your help, I'll pay whatever fee you need but this is urgent."

He paused at her tone, recently crying he thought and extremely distressed. "No fee, I doubt you'd be contacting me if this wasn't life threatening." He put down his research material and put all his focus into the conversation. "Can you tell me what the matter is over the phone or would you like to meet in person?"

"I-I can't allow that, just name a price. I'll send you my address so we can tell you what's going on."

His phone vibrated softly as he received the information. "I insist Mrs.Yaoyorozu. Consider it a special offer." He looked at the address, cutting off her protest. "I'll be there in forty minutes." he said, hanging up as he raced for his coat and wallet, and locking the door behind him.

(Momo's penthouse fifty minutes later)

Momo eyed her friend as the sounds of some movie filled her penthouse, the cheap effects and poor action having long earned her disinterest. She waited anxiously for the detective to arrive. Just as the screams of some monster roared through her television speakers, the buzzer rang out alerting her to a visitor. She then rushed towards the door after using her door camera to verify that it was Midoriya, and let him in. "I'm sorry for the delay, villain down on main caused the trains to reroute." He then took a moment to take in the scenery, and looked at Momo. "You have a lovely home."

"Thank you but you don't need to apologize, you're helping me out with a personal matter." She paused as she closed the door and turned to look at him, a bundle of Yen in her hand. "Thank you again Izuku."

Midoriya simply smiled. "Just recommend me next time someone needs help, and we'll be even." His smile then dropped as he became serious. "Now, what seems to be the matter?"

"I think it'll be better if she told you." Momo then began to walk ahead of him, escorting him towards the living room. Upon entering, Jiro looked over, an eyebrow raised at the two. "Jiro, this is detective Midoriya, I worked with him a few weeks back regarding the Hatsume case, he's good at what he does." As she spoke Midoriya scratched the back of his neck nervously.

Jiro eyed Midoriya a bit before hesitantly offering a hand. "Nice to meet you."

"Likewise." He answered while shaking her hand. "Now from what I can tell it looks like you've just gone through a highly upsetting event, can you tell me what happened?" Jiro nodded and he pulled out a notebook and pen from his coat pocket, Momo sat next to Jiro holding her hand. "Excellent, now please take your time, and if at any moment you want to stop please feel free to do so." And with that Jiro recounted her story, at times choking due to the stress at which point Midoriya would offer that they take a break. Other times he would quietly take a few notes, but he never once stopped or interrupted her. As the story ended, Midoriya nodded, and quickly reviewed the notes he took, offering a soft smile. "It's very brave of you to come forward like this, and I'm sorry that more wasn't done to help you Mrs.Kyouka. I promise you that I will do everything in my power to find out who is stalking you and put an end to this. I apologize, but I need to ask some rather pointed questions so I can narrow down the search. Is that alright with you?"

She nodded again. "Yeah…yeah ask away, green bean."

Midoriya nodded. "Thank you. Have you recently been in a relationship that ended? It doesn't have to be a romantic one, just one that recently ended, most likely in a rather explosive or extreme manner?"

Jiro shook her head. "No, nothing." He nodded as he muttered softly to himself and wrote in his notebook.

"Have any of the letters given you any indication on who might be stalking you?"

She shook her head.

"At any point, did these letters seem…strange, as if out of touch with reality?"

At that Momo raised her head. "Out of touch with reality? What does that mean?"

He cleared his throat before he began to answer. "Oftentimes in stalking cases the perpetrator might be in the midst of a psychotic break, or be suffering from extreme delusions such as say…" He placed a finger to his mouth in thought before continuing. "Only by being with you can I prevent the aliens from leaving my body and destroying the world."

The two women blinked at that before Jiro spoke. "N-no nothing like that."

He nodded once again. "Any threats directed towards you? Be it of sexual violence or otherwise."

Once more she shook her head. "Not in the ones I read."

At that Midoriya paused looking up from his notebook. "Can you explain?"

"Couple of months ago I stopped reading them and just burned them or tossed them….I just…I was so…". Tears formed in her eyes. "I just wanted them gone." As she cried softly Momo started to hold her close to help comfort her.

"Midoriya is that all you needed to know?"

He reviewed his notebook once more before shaking his head, waiting for Jiro to calm down before speaking again. "Are you all right, Mrs.Kyouka?"

She nodded. "Sorry just….it's been hard you know."

Momo squeezed her hand softly. "It's ok, you've gone through so much."

Midoriya nodded. "Stalking is an extremely stressful time for anyone, it's perfectly normal for you to have difficulty talking about this. I just have one more question if that's ok?"

Jiro nodded. "Lay it on me."

"You said they left a note in your bedroom, is it still there?"

"Yea…I…I kinda just left everything behind this morning." She responded by rubbing the back of her neck. "Sorry."

He shook his head and smiled. "Actually that's perfect, it means the scene was barely disturbed. I will need to examine the area and read the letter. If you'd prefer to not be there, that's fine, as long as I have the means to enter myself." Jiro quickly nodded as she reached for her house key in her lounge pants.

"Thank you, I don't think I could go back just yet."

He nodded and turned to Momo. "Will she be staying with you while I investigate?"

At which point she nodded. "Yes, if she wants."

At that Midoriya stood pocketing his notebook and pen. "Then it looks like I'm off, I'll call once I have more information and I'll keep you updated when I find something." He began to leave when Momo stood and escorted him to the entrance with a bundle of Yen in hand.

"A moment Izuku." At that he turned and saw Momo with her hand outstretched. "I don't know what you normally charge but I hope that's enough. I can't thank you enough for your help."

Midoriya shook his head as he placed a hand over hers. "Keep it please, I'm just happy to help."

"I insist, please."

"Nope."

After a moment of the two staring each other down Momo sighed. "Then at the very least allow me to help you in your investigation, Jiro is a close friend of mine and I'd like to help you in any way I can."

Midoriya blinked before nodding after a moment or two. "I could use some help if the stalker gets violent. Alright, you got a deal." He extended a hand and she smiled, shaking it.

"Wait one moment, then we'll head out." She turned and returned to the living room to speak to Jiro and returned a few minutes later. "Alright I told her the updated plan, she'll be staying at a mutual friend's house while we look into this."

Midoriya nodded, smiling, as he reached for the door and opened it. "Well then, let's get started."
