Chapter 05: into a new world part 02.
As the day continued well into the afternoon the Teen Titans were led by Aizawa into a different part of the school, which were the training grounds as he bid them goodbye while instructing them to wait for his replacement. With that the wait was pleasant as the Teen Titans took the time to stretch, warm themselves and generally hype themselves for the next challenge, evident most on Beast boy.
" hey Greengo, don't waste too much energy…. Save some for the challenge."
At this Beast boy smirked.
" don't worry about it Cy… I know what I'm doing."
At this Cyborg smirked replying.
" well that'll be a first."
A little miffed Beast boy was about to respond when a new voice, a loud one at that too, garnered the attention of all of them.
" as much as I love to see listeners participating in the show!... leave the colorful commentary to the best MC in the house, you dig!?..."
a tall, slim man with long blond hair, which he wears spiked upwards in a large tuft behind his head, and a small brown mustache approached the team wearing an attire consisting of a black jacket with a very tall collar, upturned and complete with studs, and matching black pants and knee-high boots, tan shoulder pads and a red belt and elbow pads, all studded, and black fingerless gloves. His neck is always obscured by a directional speaker. Recovering from the booming voice Beast boy was the first to respond.
" could you shout a little louder?, I don't think they've heard you in Cuba…"
At this point Cyborg shot a mean look to him, scolding.
"are you seriously joking right now?..."
At this Beast boy answered innocently.
" no I'm jokingly serious."
At this cyborg was about ready to throttle Beast boy's neck for that comment as Raven stopped him while the older pro hero watched at the exchange in amusement until the Teen Titans, all of them, were paying close attention to him.
" much better, now beyond those gates lays an urban playground in which the teaching staff will evaluate your performance as follows….."
With that the hero took a pause for dramatic effect, trying to hype up the audience for the rest of the details as Raven deadpanned.
" just get on with it….."
At this the pro hero got a bit annoyed as he continued as if nothing's happened.
" this test is really simple, you face four groups of robots range from 1 up to 3 points, defeat as much as you can within 2 minutes."
At this Night-wing caught on to something as he asked or rather noted.
" you said four yet the point system goes up to only three, what's the catch….. oh and your name if you don't mind?"
At this the older pro hero sweat dropped as he remembered that he forgot to introduce himself as he recovered quickly.
" thank you my sharp listener, and allow Present Mic, that's me, to answer your query, as I said before there are 4 types of robots, however one type of robot will be thrown as an obstacle to avoid, that one's worth 0 points, so literally there's no point in engaging him in battle, now are there any other questions?"
At this Raven deadpanned yet again.
" yes, when are you leaving?"
That got Beast boy snickering, all the while the rest wore amused smiles on their faces while Present Mic mumbled and muttered under his breath.
" great….. just what I needed today… hecklers in the audience…"
After the amusement died down Beast boy took a turn as he asked the following.
" I've got a good one….. when do we start?"
At this Present Mic perked up as he gave the following answer.
" normally there aren't any signals given on the battlefield, so whenever the doors fully open that's your cue to start rocking boys and girls!"
At this moment the Teen Titans faced the gate to the training ground as Starfire tried to take to the air, however she discovered she could only levitate a few feet above the ground for a short period of time before her energy began to dwindle with Night-wing noticing.
" don't worry Star, no matter what happens we got it."
With that the doors began to open slowly as Night-wing shouted their famous battle cry.
" Titans Together….."
With that said and done the gates opened fully as the Teen Titans rushed into battle spotting a few foes already with Night-wing asking.
" who wants to do the honors?"
With that Beast boy took the lead as he faced off his first opponent, an android with the number 1 sprayed in white on a plate of metal covering it's lower arm, nothing noteworthy else about the machine, although it looked like a mech you would see in an arcade video game, but that didn't phase Beast boy as he tried something different than usual, instead of morphing from head to toe he concentrated changing his head transforming it to one of a velociraptor, finding it relatively easy he bit down the robot's neck as he ripped it of with a couple of bites, spitting out any loose pieces as he changed back.
" what the hell was that?!..."
To that the Teen Titans stayed silence for a few secs except for Cyborg blurting out that comment as Beast boy continued on as he replied.
" would you take my word for it if I'd say pure dumb luck?..."
With this both Starfire and Night-wing took the lead finding a few more targets to destroy as the heroine began blasting the androids with her star bolts only to discover that continuously shooting her projectiles began to take physical toll on her hands with Night-wing noticing.
" Star, don't push yourself beyond the limit, save your strength if possible….."
At this Starfire nodded as she opted to fight hand to hand with Night-wing opting to finish off the damaged androids using his Escrima sticks at optimum setting, shooting electricity through out the mechs causing them to either explode or collapse to the ground with Beast boy shouting.
" guys…. Leave some for us too…!
At this point Present Mic could be heard commenting.
'15 seconds to the halfway mark…15 seconds contestants….'
At this the Teen Titans stepped up their game as Beast boy tackled some more androids in the form of a Doberman as he morphed back before morphing his arms to that of silver back gorilla beating his foes like conga drums before ripping them to pieces with Raven on his trail slamming androids that Beast boy missed into themselves using a small fraction of her power as she noted.
" don't you find it weird that Present Mic gave us an update close to the halfway point?... if you ask me their up to something….."
At this Night-wing acknowledged as he replied.
" undoubtedly….. but we can't lose focus…."
Speaking of focus, the current teaching staff and principal watched the young heroes via monitors watching their progress waiting for the minute mark which came in 3…2…1…
With that said and done the teaching staff nodded in agreement as All Might flipped a casing with a noticeable red button with the writing below indicating as follows 'Yaruki switch'. With the button pressed the number one hero claimed.
" now it's time for the moment of truth."
Back in the testing ground.
With the Teen Titans clearing about 90% of the androids already suddenly the earth began to shake as an enormous Android came online, destroying the buildings around the test site and what remained of the mechs still standing as Beast boy commented.
" oh…a Godzilla reference… very subtle of them…"
At this Raven commented.
" funny, I figured you'd shriek or soil yourself."
At this Beast boy laughed sarcastically as he focused on the android, hiding the fact that his legs did shake a bit as he commented back.
" oh ye of little faith….."
With that Beast boy walked nonchalantly towards the impending android as Night-wing asked.
" mind telling me what's going on through your head right now?"
At this Beast boy looked back smirking.
" how about I'll show you?"
With that Beast boy took a big breath as he morphed into a T rex, matching the size of the android as he let out a deafening roar, before swiping its tail at the mech denting it's metal before the green dinosaur bit into the dent exposing the wiring as Night-wing chuckled noting.
" well what do you know…. He read my mind….."
As the android lost some of it's balance Night-wing closed the gap as he threw one freezing bomb into the exposed 'wound' as the ice covered the circuitry inside.
" now, Star, Cyborg, blast it with everything you've got….."
Without missing a beat both Starfire aimed a precise blast of star bold and a white noise projectile to where the ice stood creating a display of sound and light that blanketed the area as a smoke screen materialized obscuring Present Mic's vision as well as the U.A teaching staff for a few moments of anticipation. With the smoke slowly clearing it was revealed that the android was balancing by a threat as its whole midsection was reduced to ruble as Raven chanted her mantra as the black energy surrounded the android's 'spine' before it got ripped as the top part of the robot fell backwards creating a small shockwave in the process. As the shockwave dissipated Present Mic and the rest of U.A's teaching staff were left in complete silence for a few long moments while the Teen Titans did their best to recover, while anticipating a next wave of androids to attack until Present Mic recovered first as he declared.
' times up listeners, thanks for taking part in today's show.'
Hearing this beast boy smirked as he asked.
" what?... that's all you've got?..."
At this Cyborg shot a mean stare at him silently saying ' shut it man and don't push it' as Beast boy gave a sheepish look whispering the following.
" oops…. Sorry….."
Speaking of whispering, back where the teachers have gathered the staff began talking amongst themselves about what went down all but for the principal who simply left the room to make a few phone calls and All Might who left the room to replace Present Mic as he mulled over what he witnessed.
' well if they didn't impress me before they surely impressed me now…..'
At this point All Might came across Aizawa headed to the teacher's lounge, greeting each other in their own unique way the number one hero noted.
" I saw you were absent for the last part of our guest's examination, I'm guessing they've made an impression on you from the beginning."
At this Aizawa nodded a yes before adding the following.
"it was irrational for me to be present, whether we are hosting guests or not, we've got a school of would be heroes to teach so neglecting them is out of the question."
By the time All Might ended the conversation he continued towards the testing grounds and principal Nezu joined him in comfortable silence before asking.
" I take it you took a rest between maintaining your form?"
At this All Might gave the principal a thumbs up as he replied.
" and I believe you've secured a place to stay for our guests?"
At this Nezu gave a firm but friendly confirmation as the two of them made to the training grounds were the Teen Titans were waiting patiently. Thanking them for their patience the principal and All Might escorted the Teen Titans off campus as a car was waiting for them to escort them towards their new destination. Arriving at their destination the group confirmed that indeed they ended up exactly where Nezu said they'd be taken, a local 4-star hotel just 30 minutes from the school by foot, 15 minutes by car, as the group entered the establishment. Once inside they were led to a couple of suites on the tenth floor, one for the girls and one for the boys. The suits themselves were well kept but nothing too extravagant with all the necessities such as two bedrooms, a kitchen and a bathroom plus a moderate sized TV, internet connection and a direct line to the school in case of emergencies.
" thank you again, I don't know how to repay your kindness."
At this All Might gave a hearty laugh saying.
" you don't owe us anything, so don't worry about it, we're all heroes after all…"
At this Night-wing gave a firm nod as he said thanks while Nezu cleared his voice to get their attention.
" we'll be back in two days time to collaborate with you on catching this menace called Control Freak, so in the meantime rest up and make yourselves more familiar with our world in the meantime."
With that Nezu and All Might relayed the same information to Starfire and Raven before departing with Night-wing turning on the TV while in the meantime got on the laptop provided with the internet connection as Beast boy noted.
" not wasting any time huh?"
At this Night-wing simply asked.
" would you?"
To answer that question Beast boy spoke nonchalantly.
" no but I would give my eyes a bit of rest."
Saying that he morphed into a green house cat as he made himself comfortable on the edge of the couch from where Night-wing sat as he fell asleep peacefully while Night-wing did some research as Cyborg said.
" I'm ordering us something to eat, you want anything?"
At this Night-wing replied without taking his eyes off the laptop.
" nothing in particular just as it's not too spicy."
At this Cyborg gave an A-OK gesture as Night-wing began his research starting with the number one pro hero himself All Might. As a few minutes passed Cyborg already ordered some food as he happened to pass by Night-wing taking note on his research as he asked.
" not 5 minutes in and you're already deep in research?..."
At this Night-wing answered without taking his eyes off of the monitor.
" considering we have to adapt fast to a new world with new rules…. Absolutely, besides I've got a feeling that All Might is hiding something and I want to know what….."
Not surprised, Cyborg sighed as he continued the conversation as follows.
" our dinner will arrive in a few minutes, be sure to pause your research, I will not have us eating cold food you hear?"
At this Night-wing gave a nod as he ended the conversation with.
" understood."
With that said and done Cyborg went over to the girl's suite inviting them for dinner as room service arrived that very minute. Havin all eaten and rested a day went by quickly as the Teen Titans were visited by both the police force representatives and principal Nezu they were given temporary permission to aid the pro heroes without an official license as long as they focus on rescue efforts instead of directly engaging any villains in combat, apart from whom they were chasing, at first the Teen Titans took it with strides having no intensions of breaking any laws in this world however something was eating away at Night-wing as the officer talking with him, detective Naomasa Tsukauchi noted.
" you don't agree with our stance do you?"
At this Night-wing sighed as he answered as follows.
" it's not about agreeing or disagreeing, I can't turn my back on people who need my help regardless of whether I have a license or permission to fight crime, and we both know that eventually someone will have to intervene in a fight in order to save another."
At this Tsukauchi smirked, realizing that the stranger before him Night-wing was a dedicated hero like All Might as he ended the conversation as follows.
" if push comes to shove I think I can give you some leeway due to your intentions, however don't abuse my generocity, vigilantism is still illegal in Japan and I'm strict with laws."
At this Night-wing gave an appreciative nod as he went to bow and shake the man's hand saying.
" I'll look forward to working with you"
With that the detective gave a nod silently saying 'likewise' before leaving, letting the Teen Titans to enjoy the day as much as they could before returning to U.A tomorrow.
U.A high school, front gate 09:30 am.
" say what are the chances that this Control Freak would be foolish enough to attack us directly?"
At the gates to U.A two of the faculty teachers were waiting for the Teen Titan's arrival, one was Aizawa and the other one was one of two female teachers at said school, the one who asked the question, the R rated hero Midnight.
" very probable, since it would be irrational to try and break in multiple times without the intention of going through with it".
Before the conversation could continue further the car that escorted the Teen Titans to their hotel arrived at the gates as the Teen Titans stepped out to be greeted by the teachers with the young men in the group trying to keep eye contact with both the teachers especially the woman since she was a tall, curvaceous woman with sky blue eyes, which tilted downwards in the centre; framed by a set of rather long eyelashes. She had abundant spiky dark purple hair which was made up of layers of varying lengths, the longest ones reaching down below her waist. Her chin-length bangs were split into three sections; two swept to the sides and one over her face, going diagonally down to the left between her eyes. She also had a small beauty mark below her left eye, as well as red-painted nails. Her hero costume was very similar to one of a traditional dominatrix. She wore a breastless, black leather leotard—similar in style to a corset over a thin, skin-tight white bodysuit, which accentuated her voluptuous figure, which didn't escape her noticed as she gave a knowing smirk and a wink which did the most effect on Beast boy as he mentally repeated to himself.
' get a hold of yourself… Rachel's right besides you….. concentrate…. Concentrate….'
Speaking of which Raven did not miss whatsoever what's going on as she gained a small smirk of her own as she whispered in Beast boy's ear.
" behave husband… and I'll treat you properly once we get home….."
At this Beast boy whispered back.
" very funny Raven….. as though I didn't need enough stimulation….."
With that Raven chose to end the conversation with a smirk as she kept her husband's head squarely on Aizawa as he went over quickly and efficiently on the patrol schedule which the Titans have agreed to participate in.
" now, any questions?"
At this Beast boy asked bluntly.
" are there any cavalry coming or are we the last line of defense?"
At this Aizawa answered as follows.
" for now we're on our own but once the afternoon's shift comes we will be joined by three seniors from this school, the best of the best has to offer.
At this Night-wing asked as follows.
" I assume they have some combat experience, or at least competent enough to be called heroes?"
At this Aizawa nodded in approval as he replied.
"among all the students enrolled those three could practically considered pros, however let's make sure we're doing our jobs efficiently."
At this Night-wing gestured for Aizawa to continue as he did.
"Beast boy, Raven you'll patrol with me, Night-wing and Starfire you're patrolling with Midnight, Cyborg…"
At this Cyborg finished for him.
"guard the front entrance right?, don't worry you're leaving this place in good hands…"
With that Aizawa said in a cool manner as he escorted Raven and Beast boy to their patrol route as he said.
"who said I was worried….."
With that everyone present went on their separate ways as Cyborg was left alone to guard the U.A barrier preparing himself for a fight as he loosened up as much as possible while thinking.
' what kinds of losers would willingly take orders from a loser like Control Freak….. doesn't matter… I'll still kick some ass if push comes to shove….'
Speaking of push, about three hours passed since the Teen Titans arrived to U.A yet still nothing had happened as the grounds remained as quiet as possible with Night-wing and Starfire replacing every hour on the hour as Beast boy and Raven kept patrolling with Aizawa as the younger hero asked.
"say… I noticed the scars around you eyes… how did that happen?"
At this Beast boy got an elbow to the ribs by Raven as he asked wincing.
"what was that for?!"
At this Raven answered evenly yet anger still present in her voice, coming off as a sarcastic reply.
"dredge up a painful memory why don't you… I'm sure he'll love opening old wounds and pouring fresh salt….."
At this Aizawa was about to reply as the Titan's communicators blared into life with Cyborg on the other line.
'guys…. It's starting….'
As the transmission ended both Titans and the present U.A teachers rushed back to the school's gates as a portal similar to the one teleporting Control Freak opened quickly as said villain stepped out as though he owned the place.
" I see that my old friends has made some new ones… how quaint…."
At this the Teen Titans waited cautiously with their guard up as the U.A teachers and heroes, Eraser Head and Midnight did the same, with the older heroine reaching for her thin cloth ready to activate her quirk as the disheveled villain wagged his finger.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you…"
With that before the heroes could respond Control Freak opened a second portal as a group of at least four supervillains and a squad of at least ten low level thugs were standing behind the portal in a trance like stance as though they were brainwashed as Night-wing deduced.
"so… you finally managed to reprogram a few people to do you biding….. you must feel proud of yourself."
At this Control Freak smirked.
"beyond your wildest imagination, now be good little heroes and surrender to my will and rule….. unless you want me to unleash my subordinates on the school and its students, starting with the defenseless ones….."
At this Night-wing and the rest of the Titans were about to charge as Eraser Head stopped them whispering quietly.
"stand down, make sure to evacuate the students with Midnight while I'll hold them at bay."
At this Night-wing was about to protest, or at least offer to stay behind as Midnight stopped him.
"trust him, he's far more capable than one would think."
At this Night-wing had to relent as he ordered the Titans to spread out with the intension of covering more ground this way. Seeing the Teen Titans retreating Control Freak sent out the signal for his new group of friends to invade the school as Eraser Head stood between them, unfurling his specialized scarf, or better yet capture weapon as the villain smiled smugly at him.
" surrender now and I'll let you live."
At this Eraser Head smirked at him as it confused Control Freak.
"you should've left your minion's mind untouched."
At this Control Freak asked impatiently.
" yeah?!... and why's that old man?"
At this Eraser Head replied as follows.
" because then they could've warned you about messing with me or this school"
With that Eraser Head slipped his goggles on as he used his scarf as he captured about three of the minions at the same time, slamming them into each other knocking them out cold as Control Freak was caught off guard for a moment as he pulled out a hand gun as he ordered one of his lesser goons to take a step in front of the barrel with his face turned towards the hero trying to make a charge at said villain.
"step down, unless you want his death on your hands….. not to mention that my little toys have already infiltrated this dump, laying siege on the many innocent students caught in the massacre…."
With that said and done Eraser Head didn't blink, he acted as if nothing happened as Control Freak stared puzzled at the hero as he listened to what came next.
" Texas Smash!"
With that said and done the air around Control Freak and his goons emitted extra ordinary amount of pressure as the villain and his 'puppets' could barely stand on their feet as they were blown back by the arrival of none other than All Might himself. It took a while for Control Freak and his goons to regain their footing as at the last second the villain summoned back the pawns that were knocked out by Eraser Head to use them as shields to soften the blow he would've received otherwise as he was picking up his gun, opening fire on the pro heroes.
" All Might….. don't assume anything about him…."
With that both Pro Heroes began dodging and deflecting his attacks trying to make sure that none of them or someone innocent would catch a stray bullet. As Control Freak eventually discharged clip after clip, in the end he noticed that he's about to run out oof said ammo as he discretely tried to reach for his portal remote which Eraser Head caught at the last second.
"he's reaching for his remotes…."
With that said and done Control Freak's movements were swift for someone that surely weighed about 200 pounds as he reached the remote, opened a portal as he crossed through it.
" Aizawa, leave everything to me, you go after our gate crasher."
With that Eraser Head nodded as he began scouring the school from top to bottom, speaking of, the Teen Titans were bought enough time to evacuate most of General Studies and the support courses as Night-wing, Starfire and Midnight regrouped to update their progress so far.
" about 90% of my sector was clear, though there were a lot of students that either doubted me, or thought I was a loon, what about you two?"
At this Starfire replied first.
" I managed about the same results, though most of the male students couldn't concentrate on what I had to say… as you say, funny isn't it?"
At this Midnight tsked as she quietly said to herself.
"looks like there are some naughty boys waiting to be punished…."
At this Night-wing quietly thought to himself.
'sex appeal….. why am I not surprised….'
With that thought out of his head he cleared his throat saying.
"you two, make sure that there are no stragglers left behind… I'm going to check on Raven and Beast boy."
With that both women acknowledged him as he turned towards the direction Beast boy and Raven were, which was at the moment the hero course classes with the green hero and ravened haired heroine having a bit of a tough time convincing the would-be heroes to escape since said students saw it as an opportunity to advance their studies. At the rate this was going on, only 60% of the senior classes were convinced to evacuate the building as the two heroes regrouped for a sec before they'd split up again.
"Rachel… we need a better method…. At this rate….."
Before he could finish his sentence, the dreaded warp portal opened as Control Freak stepped out with a shit eating grin plastered on his face.
"before I arrive to mess things up?!"
At this Beast boy looked towards Raven, ignoring the fat villain as he professed.
"I swear to god I wasn't gonna say that."
At this Control Freak got pissed that he was being ignored as he shot a round towards both Raven and Beast boy as the round narrowly missed her but grazed the green hero's right cheek as a small stream of blood began slowly pouring out. For a few moments the air around the three grew deathly silent before Beast boy started pacing slowly towards Control Freak as the villain gulped with terror plastered on his face silently saying ' oh shit.'. with that said and done Control Freak tried to recover some semblance of control.
"you can't hurt me here….. you don't have a license to act as a hero….."
At this Beast boy smirked.
"you forgot something….. you don't belong to this world…"
With that Control Freak wasted no time and activated his portal again as he began running through each portal he opened as Beast boy gave chase but not before saying.
"tis but a scratch, now go and evacuate the rest while I keep fatso busy."
At this Raven gave a small nod as she gave a small glare just to warn him saying silently 'it better be' before Beast boy gave a sheepish smile before heading after the fat bastard as Raven continued on to her next destination as she made the following communication.
" please tell me you're done on your end Cyborg."
At this Cyborg gave a confident smile as he asked.
' need help on your end?'
At this Raven answered with a small edge of sarcasm in her voice.
" wow… it's like you've read my mind."
At this Cyborg just concluded the conversation by telling her to hang tight as he made it to her location with in 3 minutes flat while she noted.
" I could've teleported you here."
At this Cyborg grinned.
" I know but I figured I could've used the exercise."
With that both of them continued their sweep of the school while Beast boy was busy chasing Control Freak throughout the premises as he watched the asshole pushing buttons on his remote control seemingly at random as he hopped using the warp portals as eventually, they ended up in the forested area behind the school as Beast boy asked.
" hey Freak!, what have you programmed your little puppets to do now!?..."
At this Control Freak answered with a bit of smugness on his face.
"oh nothing much… just programmed their bodies to explode violently in roughly 15-10 minutes…."
At this Beast boy got straight to the point and asked.
" why?... that doesn't even make sense…"
At this Control Freak countered.
" on the contrary….. It does, just imagine the trauma all those none heroic students who go to U.A must be facing, knowing that they're not safe but horrified at the sight of someone exploding into a million pieces on their faces…"
At this Beast boy stood dumbfounded for a moment before a thought came to his mind, a thought that made him grin from ear to ear.
" you know?... that would've been a great plan….."
Now it was Control Freak's time to feel confusion as he bluntly asked.
" would've?"
At this Beast boy's smirk never faded from his face as he elaborated further.
" exactly…. While your little toys scatter around the building, the Titans and pro heroes have managed to evacuate the entire school, so in the end no one will see your little temper tantrum enacting itself….. leaving you at the end the same as before… an attention hungry loser."
At this Control Freak stood still for a few moments unmoving as eventually he raised his arm haphazardly as he aimed the pistol at Beast boy as he began to chuckle maniacally for a few moments more as he noted.
" you know Mark….. I've fell for your lies and tricks before… why should I believe you now you rat bastard?"
At this Beast boy himself began to laugh catching Control Freak of guard as both began to laugh, trying to out laugh each other as eventually the green hero answered.
" because I can be a rat and a bastard…"
Before Control Freak could process Beast boy's answer said hero charged straight at him morphing into a green rat as he scurried towards the villain who tried to shoot him with the pistol before the green rodent climbed all over said villain as he started knowing on his face causing him to flail and panic as the shots scattered into different direction before the creature was thrown off his face. Now being scratched by Beast boy Control Freak became unsteady as he tried to balance himself before trying to shoot the hero in the head, however by that time said green teen made a run for it passing said villain as the pudgy shmuck lost his balance falling sideways.
" what…. Was….. that…. A… love tap?!..."
At this Beast boy smugly pointed out.
" missing anything?!"
At this Control Freak found himself confused yet again as he noticed something was missing, searching his person only to find that his remote was missing, the remote that controlled his goons!.
" you've lost, tell me how to stop the explosions and maybe they won't put murder on your rep sheet."
In this point and time Control Freak was visibly upset as he lost control over the plot yet again, however let it not be said that he wasn't someone with a plan. Raising his left arm slowly to surrender, he began laying the hand that held the pistol down, however at the last second he tried to shoot at Beast boy as the hero tried to evade with the control slipping his grip, falling to the ground as Control Freak in turn shot it to pieces.
" good luck trying to stop it without the remote"
At this Beast boy recomposed himself as again he tried going after the villain as Control Freak tsked at him.
" do you think you have enough time to catch me and save the students from those low lives?"
At this Beast boy asked back without hesitation as he still tried to catch Control Freak alive and in a lie.
" oh yeah?!... how can I know that you're not bluffing yourself?..."
At this Control Freak dodged as he tried to get to his portal remote as he asked mockingly.
" you think I don't have the balls to do it?..."
At this Beast boy replied as follows.
" all I know for sure is that your ego wouldn't allow you to miss it for the world….."
With that both hero and villain ran into another stalemate as Beast boy's communicator went off as Control Freak pointed it out.
" I'd answer it if I were you."
With that begrudgingly Beast boy answered the call as Night-wing showed on the screen.
' we got a situation out here…'
At this Beast boy took a wild guess.
" some of Control Freak's goons started acting weird right?"
At this all Night-wing did was give a small nod saying silently 'yes' before Beast boy concluded the conversation.
" on my way back."
With that said and done Beast boy reluctantly turned tail as Control Freak mocked and taunted him ruthlessly before reaching for a few fragments of his now broken remote before teleporting himself out with the one that remained intact. Morphing into a peregrine falcon Beast boy flew as fast as he could as he met up with the rest of the Teen Titans at the front gates before noticing three new faces amongst the ranks.
" let me guess? Students who refused to leave without helping?"
At this a 15 year old male with a two toned hair, the right being white, the left being maroon red, and a visible scar on his left eye said quietly.
" don't blame your friends, we couldn't stand by and do nothing."
At this the other two, a tall boy with bulky lower feet with a sharp neat look about him and a shorter one with messy green hair nodded in agreement, never letting the goons out of their sights. Anticipated a battle as Eraser Head, All Might and Midnight re-joined the group as the dark haired man acknowledged the three U.A students.
" you three… why am I not the least bit surprised…"
With that Eraser head pinched the bridge of his nose as he adapted to the situation.
" do not fight them unless if you absolutely need to defend yourselves, if for any reason something goes wrong the three of us will take full responsibility."
At this the three students acknowledged their teachers thanking them as Beast boy intervened politely as he could.
" fighting won't be necessary, we just need to get this guys out of school grounds."
At this the plain looking one asked.
" what makes you say that?..."
At this Beast boy answered as follows.
" because the bastard that caused all this crap to begin with reprogrammed his goons to terrorize and explode within the area."
At this the tall one gave his own two cents.
" so it appears we simply need to relocate these ruffians."
At this the other two students agreed while the plain looking one thought to himself.
' ruffians Ida…. Really?'
With that said and done the plain looking one thought to himself some more before addressing the rest of the group.
" guys….. people… I've got a plan….. we don't need to fight them, just hold them back or in place long enough for me and Ida to carry them away to safety."
At this the plain looking one got the approval of his teachers for his quick thinking while All Might giving him a thumbs up saying.
" as expected from young Midoriya, however let me join the evacuation efforts."
With that everyone came into agreement as they sprang into action, managing to carry most of the goons outside the gates, while three or four managing to escape, well until the two-toned boy tapped his right foot backwards as ice formed on the ground trapping the goons in place.
" efficient."
At this the young man answered.
" thanks….. "
At this Night-wing answered.
" introductions can come later, for now call me Night-wing."
At this the young man gave a small nod saying.
" call me Shoto in return."
At this Cyborg and Beast boy interrupted in unison.
" guys!?... focus now, meet and greet later, okay?"
With this both teens returned to the heat of the battle as Beast boy's plans began to show progress with Ida and Midoriya managing to get most of the goons as far away from the school as possible without any resistance, well any resistance really would be next to impossible thanks to Control Freak's brain scrambling anyway; at this point however Raven and Beast boy began noticing that only 4 goons remained at large as they began shaking violently and uncontrollably.
" Raven, think you can round them up all together?"
At this Raven answered simply.
" yes, but you better have an idea behind it….."
With this Raven summoned her powers to trap the goons as Beast boy shouted.
" throw them in the air!"
With that Raven did as she was asked, ignoring the fact that it wasn't polite as Beast boy took a deep breath before morphing into an ankylosaur as he waited for the trapped goons to drop down before hitting the dark sphere with his tail mimicking a baseball player hitting a homerun as the sphere was launched high above the sky as the goons exploded in the distance with Night-wing noting.
" you're lucky that they didn't hit a commercial flight you know…"
With this Beast boy morphed back into human form saying as he was panting.
" yeah…. Maybe I should play the lotto every….. once… in a….. while….."
At this Raven subtly got behind Beast boy's back gently rubbing it in a soothing motion instructing him to breath as Shoto spoke up.
" we should patrol the school just in case before we bring back everyone in, Ida?"
At this Ida answered overdramatically as he flailed his arms like an animatronic.
" as class rep leave everything to me."
With that said class rep started running around the school as All Might spoke up.
" as impressive as your work was I have to ask, what about this Control Freak?."
At this Beast boy sighed as he forced himself through the fatigue to answer.
" he got away… again…"
At this All Might took note to Beast boy's answer as he addressed Eraser Head and Midnight.
" I believe our young visitors have earned a bit of reprieve don't you think?"
At this Eraser Head nodded replying with.
" indeed, you heard the hero, return back to the hotel, once you're all rested we'll proceed with our hunt for the villain."
At this young Midoriya asked politely.
" excuse me but can someone tell us what went on here for the last few days?, my mind's constantly overrun with questions right now…."
At this young Shoto shared his classmate's sentiments.
" I agree as well, though more importantly I wonder why our class wasn't warn in advance to such a disturbance."
At this Night-wing, sensing some tension rising decided to answer as follows.
" your teachers decided it's unwise to cause you any more stress besides school life and academics, especially since the one leading this small army is originally a concern for us five."
At this Shoto simply nodded.
"understandable, but please, if there's anything we can help with don't hesitate to ask."
At this Night-wing nodded as he concluded the conversation.
" it's a done deal, now if you'll excuse us we'll take our leave for today."
With that Night-wing and Starfire rounded the group as they began walking towards the gates while Aizawa called in their transportation as young Midoriya asked.
" we've never properly introduced… so forgive me for sounding rude but who are you anyway?"
At this Night-wing gave a wry smile as he answered.
" we'll leave that to next time, but for now know that we are friendly."
As the Teen Titans exited the U.A barrier Midoriya couldn't help but note to himself.
' well… this is vague….'
At this All Might rested his hand on the young man's shoulder as though he read his mind.
" I know how you feel, those five aroused my curiosity as well, for now all I can say that they call themselves Teen Titans, a group of heroes with potential for greatness, just like yours in fact."
At this young Midoriya sighed in relief and contentment as young Ida reported back that the school grounds were clear, as the students steadily returned to their classes while wondering where the strangers went, speaking of.
With the Teen Titans, in route to the hotel.
" I messed up badly….."
At this Night-wing answered Beast boy.
" I can't tell you to feel otherwise, but don't forget the lessons Batman taught you."
With this said and done Beast boy's acknowledged Night-wing's remarks as he tried to make himself comfortable on the ride back to the hotel, maybe catch a few minutes of shut eye as Night-wing addressed Cyborg quietly.
" any way we can pinpoint where Control Freak came from?"
At this Cyborg gestured Night-wing to wait a couple of minutes as the cybernetic hero tried to patch himself through to the local network as eventually he answered.
" my tech is no good around here….. I'll have to do it the old fashioned way until I can upgrade my systems."
At this Night-wing sighed as he addressed the rest of the Titans.
" guys, take a cue from Beast boy."
At this everyone agreed as Night-wing told the driver to take the scenic route back to the hotel, with the intention of making the drive longer than usual. As the driver changed course Night-wing allowed himself to relax as much as possible as he made himself comfortable; at one point in time Starfire made herself comfortable on him as she rested her head on his chest, breathing deeply as he in turn fell asleep while playing around with her fiery red locks. About fifty minutes passed as Night-wing was the first to wake up as he watched the car pulling up to the hotel's entrance with the hero waking everyone up as Beast boy asked.
" it was over this fast….?"
At this Cyborg replied.
" I know what you mean Greengo, it feels like I barely slept…"
At this Night-wing added in a manner of fact tone.
" as much as I'd like to keep sleeping also, getting a shut eye in the car won't do wonders for your back."
At this Beast boy asked.
" speaking from experience boss?"
At this Night-wing just gave a silent smile in return admitting as much to that as the rest of them got out and heading towards their rooms.
" yeah….. just do me one favor Beast boy?"
At this Beast boy made clear he got Night-wing's attention as the hero continued.
" don't call me boss, we're more like family at this point."
At this Beast boy nodded having cheered up a bit as the team separated into their rooms with Cyborg logging in to the laptop as Night-wing ordered in this time but not before asking.
" you're searching the old school style?"
At this Cyborg simply replied.
" not like I have much of a choice."
As Cyborg began searching online he made the following note.
' urgent reminder, update your damn systems man…..'
At this Cyborg continued his search as an half an hour passed by before Beast boy sat next to him peaking at the screen as Cyborg asked.
" what are you doing Greengo?"
At this Beast boy innocently replied.
" just wondering if robots have to worry about back pains."
At this Cyborg was mildly amused by Beast boy's comment, but he couldn't outright saying it because there won't be living with Beast boy if he does so he chose to answer as follows.
" you want to feel the back of my hand?"
At this Beast boy noticed Cyborg's mood and tone as he answered.
"no, I'm good thanks."
At this both laughed a bit as Night-wing joined the conversation.
" any estimates as to how long before you find our favorite bastard?"
At this Cyborg answered a few days, minus the interruptions, and speaking of bastards.
Back in Control Freak's temporary base.
As Control Freak crossed the portal into the room the first thing he did was go to his work station as he laid down the broken pieces left from the remote as a booming yet soothing voice spoke up.
" so you're this Control Freak I've been hearing about from Tomura!?"
At this Control Freak turned to where the voice was coming from, only to be greeted by an imposing figure dressed in a dark suit over a white shirt with a navy blue skull-like gas mask with angular tubes at the top, a wide collar-like life-support system around his neck with additional pipes connecting in the front and back of his face, giving the aura of Darth Vader. Still Control Freak answered as such.
" make your point quick, I still have plans to carry out and little patience for idle chit chat."
At this the figure smirked a devilish grin under his breathing mask.
" of course, my name is All For One and I came to size you up before I decided if I'll offer to be your benefactor."
At this Control Freak gave him is full attention as they began a long conversation that lasted well into the evening.
