Chapter 4: Weasley's Attack

Friday, September 13th, 1991

Harry, Draco and Pansy put their books away as soon as they got to the common room after their flying lesson. Professor Snape let them out late so they couldn't take their things to the dorms before heading down to the Quidditch Pitch.

"Draco, may I ask you a question?" asked Harry.

"Harry, it's been two weeks since the start of term and you have quickly become my best friend. I'd even say that when we've lived together for a while you'd be like my brother, so you can ask me anything." said Draco.

"Do you believe as your father does that Muggleborn's are lesser beings than us? Pureblood's I mean." said Harry.

Draco thought for a bit before answering.

"Not really. I think there is a lot they need to learn and that the Muggleborn's and some of the Half-Bloods that live in the Muggle World need to be educated in why our traditions matter and why some things that they think are outdated and barbaric are done the way they are. Why do you ask?" asked Draco.

"It's just that you talk to some of the Half-Bloods and occasionally talk to a Muggleborn, but I can't think of one who you are friendly with. More than that I don't recall anyone outside of Slytherin that you're friendly with." said Harry.

"I never really thought about needing friends outside of the house I was sorted into." said Draco.

"The House System is pretty stupid if you think about it. Everyone has multiple traits and characteristics, yet we're sorted into a house based on one of them. Take you for example. On the train you came to my compartment with the goal of being my friend. You didn't know how I would react to you or if I would accept. Bravery like that could've seen you in Gryffindor." said Harry.

Draco's response was stopped by laughing from the doorway. Harry and Draco turned to see Pansy holding her stomach while she laughed.

Draco glared at Pansy before saying, "I agree with you that the House System needs some work, but you didn't have to insult me by saying I could be a Gryffindor." said Draco.

"No insult intended." said Harry.

"The little lion knows you weren't insulting him." said Pansy ruffling Draco's hair.

"Pansy, what have I told you about the hair!?" asked Draco frantically running over to his bed to get his things to fix it.

"So, what brought on the conversation about Hogwarts Houses?" asked Pansy.

"I asked Draco if he felt the same way as his father about Muggleborn's and mentioned how Draco doesn't have any friends with any Muggleborn's or Half-Bloods or anyone outside of Slytherin." said Harry.

"I made a friend with a Muggleborn today." said Pansy.

"You did? Who was it?" asked Draco.

"Hermione Granger. Remember after DADA I told you I'd meet you in Herbology. I went to the bathroom and Hermione was crying in the stall next to me. I know you noticed that she is teased all the time by her own house mates. I talked to her for a little bit while we walked to the Greenhouses. She's actually really nice and smart. She wants to learn everything about our world and I think we should help her." said Pansy.

"Harry, you better start paying more attention to Pansy. It sounds like she's found a new love." said Draco laughing.

"Harry gives me plenty of attention." Said Pansy as she sat on Harry's lap and kissed him.

Draco threw a pillow at them.

"I told you not to do that with me in here." said Draco.

"Fine. I'm sorry Draco. I think I'm going to talk to Hermione and see if she'd be interested in getting lessons from us. You'd learn a lot too, Harry." said Pansy.

"Yeah, that's fine." said Draco.

"I'm in. So when is the contract going to be finished with the Greengrass'?" asked Harry.

"Should be done by the middle of next week. There was a bit of a snag because Daphne is a witches witch and absolutely won't be with a male so her sister Astoria is going to be contracted with me. She starts Hogwarts next year." said Draco.

"It's almost time for dinner. Let's get down there early so I can have Hermione come join us for dinner." said Pansy.

"Uhm, Pansy. You know some of the older Slytherin's won't like her sitting with us." said Draco.

"Well I'll go wait for her to come out of Gryffindor Tower and tell her about the lessons then I'll see you two at dinner. Draco, close your eyes." said Pansy before kissing Harry then leaving.

After a conversation about Pansy and her kisses, Draco and Harry made it down to dinner just a little bit late. They didn't see Pansy or Hermione anywhere.

"Do you think she's ok?" asked Harry.

"I don't know." said Draco.

"Mr. Potter, I need you and Mr. Malfoy to come with Professor Snape and I to the Hospital Wing." said Dumbledore.

They followed the professors to the Hospital Wing and were shocked at what they saw. Pansy and Hermione were both covered in bruises, cuts and had broken bones.

Harry ran over to Pansy's bed and took hold of her hand as he sat down.

"What happened to them?" asked Harry.

"It appears that they were attacked and pushed down the stairs by four Gryffindor's." said Professor Snape.

"Where are they and who are they?" asked Harry.

"Where they are and who they are is unimportant. There will be an investigation. Madam Bones of the DMLE…" started Professor Snape.

"I don't think involving the DMLE will be necessary. We'll do an investigation ourselves and the students at fault will be punished accordingly." said Dumbledore.

"Sure they will. They'll get what? A week's worth of detention and points lost. That's not enough for hurting my fiancé or Hermione! Look at them! They could've died!" yelled Harry.

Dumbledore almost dropped dead at hearing Harry call Pansy his fiancé. The stupid trollop ruined some of his plans. And now the Weasley's won't help him rein Harry in since he can't force a marriage contract with Ginevra.

"I agree with Mr. Potter that our punishments aren't enough. Madam Bones needs to be called here." said Professor Snape.

Dumbledore reluctantly agreed and went to his office after making a detour to Gryffindor Tower.

"Professor, what was the message that was left for me?" asked Harry.

"The message was, You belong to our sister. Dump the pug or she'll get worse next time." said Professor Snape.

"So the attack would've happened anyways. It was just convenient that Pansy was waiting for Hermione and Hermione is collateral damage." said Harry.

"We should let Madam Bones do her investigation and not speculate on what could've happened. Also remember that Miss Granger wasn't liked too well by her House.

"Draco, you've been quiet." said Harry.

Draco turned from at Hermione.

"Neither of them deserved this. When they are healed we need to watch them so they can be protected. I'm going to write my father. The Board of Governor's need to be informed of this." said Draco.

Draco wrote his letter and Professor Snape called a House-Elf to take it to Lucius. Finally after a long wait, Dumbledore returned with Madam Bones.

"Lord Potter, my apologies for what has happened to your fiancé." said Madam Bones.

"Thank you. Please call me Harry." said Harry.

"Harry, I interrogated the 4 boys and they don't remember anything. It seems like they've been Obliviated. That means their memories have been wiped of the incident with Miss Parkinson and Miss Granger. It's possible that we might be able to restore the memories, but it will take time." said Madam Bones.

"Who were the ones responsible?" asked Harry.

"I'll tell you, but you have to promise to not do anything against them. If you do, I'll bring you up on charges." Said Madam Bones.

"I promise." said Harry.

"It was…" started Madam Bones only to be interrupted by Lucius.

"The Weasley's are ready to be properly interrogated." said Lucius. "Dumbledore, I do believe your usefulness has come to an end."

Author's Note: Sorry for the short chapter. So what do you think? Will Dumbledore be fired and if so what will be his reaction? I'm back writing, but some of the stories are giving me problems. I promise that not one story will be abandoned. Thank you for continuing to read.
