Chapter 3
Meeting the Council

The path that Master Orgus had told him to follow was not too hard, he did run into some raider and other creatures of Tython but he easily dealt with them until finally, he reach his destination, as he went down into the valley he saw the Temple it was large and look to be busy, he bet that if he saw the Coruscant Temple with would have looked small in comparison as he had heard stories of who the old Temple was so tall that only the senate building beat it in height but not by much, but he didn't need to focus on that as he was about to meet the Jedi council soon, as he made his way in the past several groups of Jedi training Padawan along with look like Republic troopers walking around most likely guarding the place, he then was about to go up the stairs that lead into the Temple when he was stopped by a fellow Jedi as the man was a green skin Mirialan, the man raises his hand to stop him as Dracon turn to look at him.

"Peace unto you friend, my name is Padawan Aven I bear word from the Master of the Temple, will you take a moment and hear my message," said the man as Darcon did not have much time but could hear him out as he nodded.

"I will endeavor to be brief, your present mission is all-important but the Master wants to make sure you do not miss what the Temple has to offer, when you have time see Master Muheeda, he will guide you in the other skills of the Jedi," said the Padawan as Dracon nodded but as he did his comms began to ring as he pulled it out and the holoimage of Master Shan appeared.

"Padawan, I am Satele Shan, Leader of the Jedi council, I'd like to speak privately with you before we meet with the others," said Master Shan as Dracon thoughts were swarming around in his head as he hope he had not done anything wrong to upset the Leader of the Jedi Order.

"Have I done something wrong?" ask Dracon as Master Shan waves his worries away.

"No, and don't worry this will be an informal meeting, come to my meditation room in the Temple we'll talk there," said Master Shan as another ring sounded from his comms as the image of Master Shan shut off, he then check only to see that his map of the Temple was updated, it now shows him the whole temple and also a route to take for Master Shan room, looking it over and making sure he knew the way he shut off his comms he said his goodbyes to Padawan Aven and made his way up the stairs and into the Temple.

When he first step in he began to feel the force surround him as he felt the many Jedi that was around him, he felt their sense of Justice that they wish to bring to the Galaxy, their calm Serenity that helps focus their action in battle but shut off his connections so that he wouldn't fell all this emotion his whole visit he felt somebody bump into him, he turns to look who it was only to be greeted by a hulking Trandoshan standing before him.

He had to look up to see the being's face but before he could say anything he was interrupted by a male voice calling out to the Trandoshan.

"Hey Fess, let's get a move on, we need to leave now," said the voice as Dracon turn to look to see who had called the Trandoshan only to take a step back as he almost reach for his saber only to stop as his mind went into overdrive as what he saw before he was a male red skin Sith, his had black red hair and if he could look closer he could see the golden yellow of his eyes, he was about his size in height, the Trandoshan seem to have forgotten him as he followed his companion out of the Temple, shaking the moment off Dracon look around to see that nobody seem to care about the Trandoshan and the Sith, so that means he was meant to be here, so leaving that alone, for now, he followed the route towards Master Shan room.

Dracon now stood at the entrance to Master Shan room and as he took another step the doors opened, peaking inside he spotted the Master meditating, Dracon had to cover his eyes for a moment as he could see the shining light of the force was coming off Master Shan person blinding him from seeing her.

After a second Master Shan began to speak. "Welcome Padawan Dracon Coyne, the Temple is already buzzing with the accounts of your heroism in the training grounds," said Master Shan as the light went away and she began to stand up. Dracon was now able to see the Master for himself and from what he saw and felt with the light he could tell Master Shan was strong in the force.

"Master Orgus told me you battled flesh raiders, fought and defeated a force user armed with a lightsaber, It must have been a disturbing confrontation, are you all right,"

"You don't need to worry about me Master Shan, I just hope that we did not lose too many Jedi and the flesh raiders and their leader will face trial for their crimes," said Dracon as Master Shan gave him a smile as she nodded.

"Good, it takes great skill to not kill one enemy and don't worry they will, taking a life affects the living force and the one who does the killing, this is why Jedi enter battles calmly and with reason, emotions like fear and anger lead to the Dark side," said Master Shan as Dracon listen and to this heart as he spoke.

"I can control my feelings no matter what I'm facing,"

"As the Jedi Code teaches us, There is no emotion, there is peace, remember those words when times are darkest and take this," said Master Shan as she turn around and walk to one of her weapons cabinets, opening the doors she pulled a new training saber as she looks it over and liking what she saw she turn and walk back to him as she handed it off to him as she went on to explain. "The code is a source of strength but some backup never hurts, I'll see you soon in the council chambers," said Master Shan as she went back to meditating as Dracon nodded and took his leave.

As he left the room he look over his new saber, he notice it look like a newer model than the one he had as he began to mess with the settings, after some time he felt that it was set to what he liked as while the saber was stronger then his last he set it so that it will only bruise with a single hit and if he needed to knock someone out it would be able to get the job done, once done he then made his way toward the council chambers as he wishes to speak the Masters.

Dracon now found himself in front of the chamber doors as he took a breath and calm his mind, once that was done he open the doors and walk inside and what he saw as he took his first steps inside was magnificent as the wall was lined with Jedi statues as they lead into the oval-shaped room, that is where he saw a big round table where several chairs were seated as he spotted several Master that he did not know, he even notice Master Orgus seating in one of the chairs, he also notices a human male and a male Kel dor but they were here by hologram, he then turns to look left to see a Togruta Master and what seems to be her Padawan standing by her side, he steps further in as he nodded to them as they greeted him back.

As he step closer into the room that is when the Togruta Master began to speak. "I searched the Temple archives, this force user leading the flesh raiders never received Jedi training," said the Togruta Master as her Padawan turn to look at all of them as she then spoke up in concern.

"Then the Sith have found us, shouldn't we get ready for them," said the Padawan as Master Orgus wave her concerns away.

"Calm yourself Padawan, we can't be certain of anything yet,"

"But we've all sensed a growing darkness, perhaps it's finally revealed itself," said the Togruta Master as Dracon took that moment to speak up.

"The enemy I faced wanted to destroy the Jedi Order, can't get much darker than that," said Dracon as the other Padawan in the room chose to speak up.

"Well that brightened up the room," said the Padawan as Dracon got a better look at her as she had flaming red hair, light skin, and sky blue eyes, if he was honest with himself she look perfect but before any more thoughts about her could come up he pushes them away as this was not the time to think about that as he focuses on what Master Orgus began to introduce him.

"Everyone, this is Padawan Dracon Coyne, he saved our people in the training grounds," said Master Orgus as Dracon nodded to the Master in respect as they nodded back, Master Orgus then began to introduce the other Masters that were here. "This is Master Kiwiiks and her extremely vocal Padawan, Kira the other Masters that could be transmitting from distant worlds," finished Master Orgus as Master Kiwiiks began to speak.

"It's unfortunate our numbers are scattered," said Master Kiwiiks sadly but that is when Master Shan step in and spoke as she went to sit down and speak.

"Indeed, the Temple safety is unexpectedly threatened, the flesh raiders were disorganized primitives before today," said Master Shan but from what Dracon saw in the training ground he knew that was a lie but kept that to himself as Master Orgus spoke up.

"We clearly underestimated the natives, the man leading the flesh raiders probably wasn't acting alone,"

"Much of Tython remains unexplored and we have few resources to spare," said Master Shan as Master Orgus took that moment to announce something to the Council as he turn him.

"I'll handle it, with the help of my new Padawan," said Master Orgus as Master Kiwiiks spoke with surprise.

"Orgus, you haven't taken a Padawan since Coruscant," But that would not stop him as Master Orgus push on.

"The force is strong in him, in only a few have I seen the force so strong in one," said Master Orgus as Master Shan was happy to hear this as she would allow this.

"I can think of no finer Master to complete this Padawan's training," said the Leader of the Jedi as Master Orgus spoke to him.

"You'll find supplies in my chamber downstairs, go equip yourself I'll meet you there," said Master Orgus as Dracon nodded and took his leave.

Dracon now stood inside Master Orgus chambers as he found an unused foot lock, he place his old saber inside as though it was with him for most of his training he yet to learn dual wielding but maybe his new Master will help with that but for now he would use the new saber that Master Shan has given him, it was a moment later that Master Orgus came into the room as he sounded a little frustrated.

"Uh blast those council meetings, I'd die of old age before my colleagues ran out of things to say,"

"Have you always felt this way about your fellow Masters?" ask Dracon as he thought this was strange that a Master would feel this way but Master Orgus wave his concerns away.

"Don't misunderstand, they're good people, I just prefer to get things done, this situation has come to you fast, you're braving dangers many Jedi never face, I wouldn't blame you for having questions, this may be the only time to ask them,"

Something was as troubling him as his Master did say to ask. "I get the impression you haven't had a Padawan for years, why did you ask to train me,"

He notice Master Orgus look away for a moment as though he was thinking of someone else long gone and to gather his thoughts as he turn to look at him as he spoke. "As Jedi, you learned to trust your instincts, when I met you in that cave my instincts told me that I was meant to train you, I don't know why or for what purpose but the living force brought us together for a reason," said Master Orgus as Dracon looks at him confusion as he had to ask his next question.

"You think the force is alive, that... wants something from us?" ask Dracon as he still tried to wrap around what his Master is saying.

"Want is... too strong a word, let's just say we'll accomplish more together than by ourselves," said Master Orgus as he was finished with their talk as he went into mission briefing mode as Dracon listen. "There's a group of Twi'lek pilgrims on Tython, they've been fighting the flesh raiders for months, the Republic asked us to deny those Twi'leks aid, they settled here illegally but frankly we need their help," said Master Orgus as Dracon didn't like what he heard and he made sure that his Master knew this.

"The Republic shouldn't be telling the Jedi what to do, Tython is our world long before we ever join the Republic, this is Jedi business," said Dracon as he was passionate about this, those Twi'leks while here illegally were people and if the Jedi could help them they should without the Republic giving orders to the Jedi, his Master only smile and said.

"Forgot how impressionable Padawans can be, remember Jedi exists to serve the Republic even when we disagree," said his Master as Dracon could only nod as he was still a Padawan and was still learning the ways of being a Jedi, maybe one day he would be able to change things but for now he would need to learn from his Master as he went on with there mission. "The Twi'leks have a settlement in the mountains, that's should be your next stop, establish a base camp and speak to the Matriarch, find out everything the Twi'leks know about flesh raiders," said Master Orgus as Dracon wish to know more before he went off.

"Anything you can tell me about the Twi'lek leader,"

"Thing is she is not our biggest fan, you may have to convince her otherwise, I'll join you soon, but before you leave I have something that you may like," said Master Orgus as he went to his dresser and took out what looks like a Jedi Padawan robe as he brought it to him and gave it to him. "I think that fight with the flesh raider and the force-user more then proves you deserve new robes, wear it with pride, I will leave you so you may change, May the force be with you," said Master Orgus as he left the room so that he could change, after putting on the new robes he looks himself in the mirror as he like what he sees, now he should go on his mission but first he wish to go see Master Muheeda and see what he could teach him first.
