Chapter 11
"Shh…." Nicole said, holding a finger to her lips.
She then reached into her boot to grab her knife. Brerrok was on the other side of her. He also pulled out his knife from it's hollister in his boot. Nicole mouthed "1,2,3," before she crept out. Brerrok followed her.
They used their knives to slice the two Cardassian guards' throats. The guards dropped to the deck. Brerrok knelt down to grab their weapons. He tossed one to Nicole.
"Keep your knife close in case we need to use it again." Nicole said, hiding her knife back in her boot.
"Understood." Brerrok hid his knife in his boot.
"Was that really necessary?" Dr. Crusher asked.
"It will stop them from asking for reinforcements." Brerrok said.
"Brerrok, get over here. I need you by my side." Nicole said.
Brerrok came to stand next to Nicole. They looked over at the corner to make sure it was cleared before they headed down the corridor taking it slow.
"Where do you think they would be keeping them, my friend?" Nicole asked.
"Probably in the holding cell. Hopefully my brother is there too." Brerrok said.
"Lead the way." Nicole said.
Brerrok went on ahead, Nicole followed closely behind. Data stayed beside his wife. He felt this need to protect her. Although he knew Nicole was more than capable of protecting herself.
"Brerrok!" A voice called to them.
"Sica!" Brerrok looked at his wife through the tiny window of the cell. She had a bruise around her eye and a bloody lip. "Are you alright, my love?"
"I am fine. They took her though. Joresh." Sica said as tears stung her eyes.
Nicole used the Cardassian weapon on the console beside the cell. It caused the cell to power down and open it's doors. Sica came running out and into the arms of her husband.
"Doctor Crusher, I suggest you head back to the Enterprise with my wife." Brerrok said.
"No. I want to stay with you." Sica said, crying into her husband's chest.
"Sica. I made a promise to you that I would protect your husband at all costs. You should know that I protect what's mine." Nicole said.
"Sica, please, I will find Joresh. Please go with Doctor Crusher." Brerrok said, holding his wife's chin.
Sica just nodded her head. Once Doctor Crusher and Sica were safely onboard the Enterprise they went on to the bridge to find Joresh.
"Michael had better not harm her. I will strangle him with my bare hands." Brerrok said.
"Would you like to use that anger on them?" Nicole said, smirking.
Brerrok looked around the corner. He smirked back at her. "Would you like to help, Nikki?"
"You know it." Nicole smiled. She then turned to Data and the two security officers who joined them. "You stay here and stay hidden. We know what we're doing."
Nicole didn't wait for Data to answer. Her and Brerrok went into action. Brerrok punched one of Michael's men causing him to fall back. Nicole used the blunt end of the weapon to break the nose of the other one. He tried to lunge at Nicole, but she blocked the hit. She ended up twisting his arm, breaking it. The guy fell to the deck crying out in pain. She took out her knife to slice his throat.
Nicole gave Brerrok a high five after she put her knife back in her boot. She gave Data a signal for them to come out of hiding.
"Commander, remind me to never piss off your wife." One of the security officers said.
Nicole stood next to Data. She smirked at the security officer. "If you didn't like that. You should see what your Commander Data can do. He only holds back because he is a Starfleet Officer."
The look on the Security Officers faces made Nicole laugh out loud. She used her weapon to kill the other man that Brerrok just knocked out.
"Daddy!" Joresh called to them when they entered the bridge.
Michael had her by the collar of her outfit. Brerrok's brother laid unconscious on the ground.
"Well hello again." Michael said, cunningly.
Brerrok held up the phaser rifle. He aimed it at Michael. "Let her go!"
"Give me Nicole and I will." Michael said.
"I do not think so." Data said, pointing his own phaser rifle at Michael.
Michael pointed a Starfleet issue phaser at Joresh. It was probably stolen.
"Then I will just have to kill her." Michael said.
"Wait!" Nicole shouted.
Brerrok looked at Nicole. Nicole looked back at him. He smirked. Nicole had a plan.
"I will go with you." Nicole said.
"Nikki…" Data started, but Nicole stopped him.
"I am sorry, Data. I told you that I don't belong with Starfleet anymore. I belong on Xevius." Nicole said, giving Brerrok her weapon. She then hugged the Cardassian. "Keep Data back. Please." She whispered in his ear.
"I will keep the kids safe, Nikki." Brerrok said out loud.
Nicole smiled for an instant before letting go of him. She started taking a few steps forward. Once Michael let go of Joresh, she ran up to her father. Nicole stood in front of Michael.
"I can see why Regen had such feelings for you. You are so beautiful. It is such a shame that I am not able to read your thoughts like he could." Michael said.
Nicole folded her arms across her chest. "It's one of the perks of being Betazoid."
"Yeah by the time it got to me, there wasn't enough left for me. Shall we go though, my dear."
"Lead the way."
Nicole stood next to Michael. Data tried to take a step to her, but Brerrok kept his promise. He kept the android held back. Nicole saw Brerrok whispering in Data's ear. Data's expression was saddened. He wasn't able to feel anything. However, he could mimic the expressions of humans.
"I love you." Nicole mouthed to the android. Her android.
As Michael and his team transported off the ship. Nicole stayed there smiling. Data tilted his head in confusion. Nicole held up the remote that she kept on her belt.
"This just doesn't control those collars. It can block out all kinds of transporters." She explained.
Brerrok turned to show Data the one he had on his hip. "Our queen is the best Engineer that Xevius has to offer."
"Well thank you, my old friend." Nicole smiled. She then looked down at the young Cardassian. "Are you alright Joresh?"
"Yes ma'am. I am alright." Joresh said, nodding her head.
"We should see if Autumn can spare anyone so we can take the Armora back to Xevius." Nicole said, walking off the transporter pad on the Enterprise.
"Would you like help?"
Nicole turned to see her best friend standing next to Captain Picard.
"River!"
Nicole ran into the arms of River. He lifted her a few inches off the ground.
"Gold looks good on you." Brerrok said, noticing River had his Starfleet uniform on.
"It was Captain Picard's idea. It was the best way to keep me hidden." River said.
"Who rescued the two of you?" Nicole asked.
"I did."
Nicole turned to see her IrneHnal walking into the transporter room. He had a Klingon uniform on.
"Worf!" Nicole said, excitedly. She couldn't stop herself from hugging him.
"That p'tak tried to do business with us." Martok explained.
"He has no honor." Nicole said, narrowing her baby blues.
"The high council agrees with you, tey'be'." Worf said.
"What's the next step, Nicole?" River asked.
"Well first things first, we need to see if Autumn can spare some people. We need to get the Armora back to Xevius. There weren't that many survivors from Brerrok's brother's crew." Nicole explained as they walked out of the transporter room.
"We will assist in whatever you need. I can even spare some of my people." Captain Picard said.
Nicole halted and turned to the Starfleet Captain. "I am sorry Captain. I rather you stay out of this. This is Xevius' business. Not the Federation."
Captain Picard took a step closer to Nicole. Both Berrok and River took protective stances by their leader.
"Can we talk? Captain to Captain." Captain Picard said.
"Brerrok take Joresh to Sickbay. I need you to stay there with your daughter and wife." Nicole turned to her best friend. "River, get with Autumn. We need to figure out what repairs need to be done on both ships."
"Nikki…." Brerrok started, but Nicole stopped him.
"You have your orders." Nicole said. She followed Captain Picard down the corridor to the turbolift.
Commander Riker and Data assisted in leading everyone where they needed to go.
