Huh well… uh life… and I do have more of this written out and the everything but the last chapter is actually written so updates should be weekly until the last chapter is out. I actually did touch this early last year but yeah.
On a serious note the past year has been hell in so many ways for me that finally touching this again makes me feel like I've gotten some parts of myself back. Like I'm slowly starting to do what I use to do sooo progress. Though after rereading I want to overhaul this but I won't do that until chapter ten if I do and I'll warn you guys if so.
As always, thanks for taking a moment to read this and hopefully in a week you will have another chapter since I want to stay a few chapters ahead when I update. I would appreciate any comments or kudos or what not and just know I am so sorry for my sucky editing skills….. And I mean it this time, chapters will start getting longer.
Chapter 8
"Space Vampires." Rose was walking past a few ensigns that apparently got wind of the recent findings and at this point she was just as annoyed with the nickname of Zunravid Sanguis as the captain was.
She walked by the group, heading toward the lab that was assigned to her for her current findings. It was still bothering her she was missing pieces. She was looking at her padd while walking to the lab she looked up to see Lt Davix and he was speaking to two other people, the one in civis immediately walked away and a command officer who had their back to her. She briefly looked back down to her padd. "Lieutenant Davix, have you seen sample B-94? It was just a silica crystalline structure but it is missing or has not been checked out properly, anyways it was suppose to stay in the lab." she looked back up to the blond humanoid.
"N-no ma'am."
Rose scratched her head. "We have twelve days to find all the missing pieces. Maybe an extra day. When you have a moment lieutenant."
The command officer who was in between Rose and Davix turned around. "Commander, what have I told you about losing samples?"
Rose, from shock, surprise, or confusion dropped her padd. "C-C-Commander D-Damari?"
The man walked towards her. Almost stalking and picked up the padd, "You seemed to have dropped this." he gave her a crooked smile, holding the padd to her.
In a brief thought she remembered why she hated the man. "W- what?!" she took the padd and when she blinked he was gone. She was stark still and there was no movement from her except for blinking.
"-Mander Rose! Lieutenant Commander Rose!"
She blinked out of her trance and looked at Davix. "Did you see him!?"
"W-who?"
"Commander D-" she briefly remembered how any situation went when one saw a dead person, also she could believe her guilt finally decided to show up. She muttered to herself though she was sure the lieutenant heard her. "It has to be stress." she shook it off. "Lieutenant, start searching for the missing samples." Rose didn't wait for a response; she just walked away hoping her order would be taken.

"Decontamination happens during transport, Doctor."
"Captain." She rolled her eyes to the obvious statement.
"Yes, yes I know you know this."
"The good thing is it only seems to be affecting the long term team. Some after radiation effect, still, it presenting now is odd." They were in her office, in med bay. The doctor had informed the captain of what she was finding, in one maybe two this could just be an isolated case. But it became more than a couple and she had the nagging suspension that more would follow.
"Is it not contagious then?"
"No, that I am positive of."
"How many of the fifteen then?"
"So far only three."
"Okay doctor, keep an eye on the site team."
"Yes, I will also get the team members down here to have them examined."
"Alright doctor, keep me updated."
She nodded and went back to her scans.

She hated the idea of this, she knew there was little trust already, or at least security was taking showing the little bit of trust. She supposed if she gave too many details then there would be a lot less trust. So for once she was going to hopefully make this quick with no ranting.
With a big breath that could be mistaken as a sigh she moved down the hall to an area she knew the head of security would be.
She could be brave… maybe… "Lieutenant Worf." her voice wasn't persay soft but it also wasn't authoritative.
"Yes?"
"I was wondering if we could go over some security footage near corridor 66 C"
"Can I ask why Commander?"
She knew he was being nice with questioning, truth was she would have to inform him since he was the head of security of this vessel. "When I was speaking to Lieutenant Davix, there was something off, I'm not sure if it had to do with the person they were speaking to before or one that walked by, but when I mentioned sample B-94 it just got odd." It was the truth but not the full extent of what she had witnessed.
With a nod he obliged. "What was the time frame?"
Truth was she had lost track of time for the day. "Uh, right before I sought you out. So probably seven minutes ago."
What they both saw was what she went through up until Rose dropped her Padd. The dead person she had seen was not there but what replaced it was a shadow. A shadow that lifted the padd to her. So she wasn't crazy exactly but this would take some explaining to the Klingon.
"So…"
