As they walked down from the jet, Sanchi couldn't help but notice the greenery and the beauty around her. Wakanda had always been beautiful. She vividly remembered her last visit to the place. Sam and James had taken her there after the destruction caused by the flag smashers. They had after all released the murderer of their king, Zemo.
At that time, Shuri and she had gotten along very well. It was as if they were the missing pieces of each other's jigsaw puzzle. It was the only time she had fun after Tony's death. She had enjoyed with the Princess while James and Bucky apologized to King T'Challa. The only thing that bothered her was the short duration she had spent in the amazing country.
But this time, she would just enjoy. They could see the king, the Princess, and the Dora Milaje coming towards them. Sanchi gathered herself and reminded her tongue to not reveal the fact that she already knew them.
Her dad and the king hugged. He also shook hands with her and introduced them to the Dora Milaje. At last, he pointed towards Shuri who had adored two braided buns on her head, and said, "This is my sister Shuri."
Shuri was looking at her as if she was trying to solve some equation. When the king nudged her, she said, "Hello Mr. Stark."
Dad also greeted her, "Hello Princess. Call me Tony. Mr. Stark was my father." She nodded and replied, "Then call me Shuri."
She looked at Sanchi again. Okoye was pointing the king to do something and her father nudged her to introduce herself but she was waiting for Shuri to say something. At last, she said, "Hey colonizer. What is your name?"
The king looked as if he was mentally slapping himself for bringing her and said, "Please don't mind her she's just a teenager." Dad smiled good-naturedly.
But Sanchi knew that this was a test of friendship. Her face broke into a smile and she replied, "What?"
Shuri also smiled and said, "What is your name?"
"Sanchi," she replied waiting for the answer.
"Fuck you Sanchi," Shuri said.
The people there were shocked by the answer. "Stop it Shuri." her brother said.
But Sanchi continued, "What is your name?"
"Shuri," she said waiting for the inevitable.
"Fuck you Shuri." She completed. Both of them started laughing. All the others were shocked. Dad started apologizing to Shuri for her language but she shook it off. The vine was completed.
She turned to her brother, "I like this one." And pointed towards Sanchi. "Don't be shocked, your old minds can't keep up with our generation's talks. Come on Sanchi, I will show you, my lab. My brother said that you do science too.
They laughed again and she looked at her father asking for permission. He nodded and she took off with Shuri.
"I have never seen her behaving like a child that she's supposed to be. Your daughter brought out the best of her." King T'Challa told Tony.
"We are glad to be of help. After all, kids behave like kids only with each other. It's nothing new." The king nodded and they headed towards the palace.
Shuri was talking miles per minute. Turns out that she also liked Harry Potter. Who didn't? The lab was candy land. She would never say it in front of her dad but the lab was better than dad's. All the technology was definitely interesting and something she hadn't seen.
She started talking about the new Black Panther suit she made. How it was high-tech with an ability to absorb energy and store it as potential energy. The concept was good but Sanchi had already witnessed it a few times.
Her mind wandered over the reason she was here in the first place. They had to take her physical tests to determine how she was doing, how strong and fast she was etc. But her hidden motive was the removal of mind stone from Vision's head if its elimination was needed.
Thanos wouldn't stop no matter how much plan she comes up with. He would be strong as always. A backup plan is something one should always have. According to the people, Shuri had come up with an idea to remove the stone in the last timeline but the lack of time didn't let her succeed. Now they had time, she just had to persuade everyone.
For this, Shuri should know about her. Both that she was spider girl and had traveled through time. For she would need her help. If she could only suggest a way how to stop dad from going to the fake alien attack then the Avengers could be united.
A hand came in front of her face and click its fingers. "Where are you?" Shuri asked.
She calmed her heart and replied, "2024." Thankfully Shuri laughed.
"I am spider girl," she said suddenly. It was a good start for her conversation.
"And I'm Black Panther. Are you kidding me?" She was still laughing. The start was doing wonders but it would be difficult for her to convince Shuri. She won't be as easy as Ned in MJ.
Taking a deep breath she repeated, "I am spider girl. I'm not lying." Her mouth fell open.
"Holy Shit." She yelled. "So, the tests have been organized for you? You gotta tell me about your powers." She was looking excited.
But before she could say anything Okoye entered the room and said, "The king and Mr. Stark are asking for you both. You need to come." They nodded and started following her.
Both of them were in the dining so it meant that they were called there for the food. Sanchi greeted them and sat beside her father. It was after that did, she notice that another woman who seemed a little old but had an aura of respect and self-confidence around her was also there. She was sitting next to the king.
She was unable to recognize her from the last visit. Not being able to control herself she turned to the king and asked, "Excuse me, king. If you don't mind then I would want to ask something."
He motioned her to continue. "Who is this woman sitting next to you?", she asked.
He smiled and said, "Pardon me, Miss Mittal. I was unable to introduce you to her because Shuri took you hostage. This is my mother, Ramonda."
"Oh!" she exclaimed. "Forgive me for not realizing. It is nice to meet you, ma'am." She greeted cheerfully. So, this was Shuri's mother.
She smiled warmly at her. "No worries my child. It is nice to meet you too." She then turned to dad and said, "You have got a gem of a kid. Cherish her. Not all kids are so well mannered."
Dad looked at her proudly and patted her head. "I don't want to take credit for her good behavior it's all her parents and uncle and aunt. But you're right she's a gem. I'm lucky to have her."
Her cheeks turned as red as a tomato right then and there. She ducked her head under her father's palm. This elicited chuckles from all around even Okoye was smiling.
After eating the delicious food Sanchi felt like resting. After all, she had a big day ahead. But suddenly Shuri shouted, "Did you know brother that Sanchi is Spider-girl?"
"What is this?" Okoye asked and at the same time T'Challa said, "Yes I do." But then he continued, "Spider-Girl is one of the heroes in America. She helps in crime-fighting and works for ordinary people. I met her first at the airport in Germany."
Okoye nodded her head in understanding. Sanchi felt a hand on her shoulder. Her father was also tired, it seemed. But Shuri piped again, "What are your abilities and how did you get them?" Her excitement was barely concealed.
The Queen Mother chuckled and added, "Only if you want to tell." Sanchi turned to her father with a questioning gaze. He nodded and smiled.
She told them about being bitten by the radioactive spider, the after-effects, and listed all her powers from super strength, speed, agility, and flexibility to heightened senses, sixth sense, and her ability to stick to things. All of them were listening intently.
"Wow," Shuri said at last. "But how do the webs come out?" She looked at her questioningly.
She just gathered her sleeves above the web shooter and shot a web across the room. Shuri jumped with joy, "Great. We'll take a look at it tomorrow." She also nodded in agreement
Meanwhile, Okoye said, "It's really strong." Her dad added, "The kid made it herself. I didn't even know her then." He was looking proud.
"You do a good thing." The Queen Mother complimented. Sanchi's heart swelled with happiness and a smile broke on her face. "But let us discuss any other thing tomorrow."
Everyone nodded and made their way to the rooms. Her room was adjacent to her father's and it was like staying in a fairyland. Only her dreams before the spider bite were that good. It didn't take her much time to slip into a deep slumber on the comfortable bed.
