Day 21- Ezrabine: Pinky Promise

"Hey, Sabine?" Ezra asked walking up behind her where she sat in the cliff's edge. "Can I talk with you for just a moment?"

"Yeah, of course." Sabine said looking up at him. "Sit down."

Ezra sighed and took a seat beside her. For a moment he just sat, willing himself to keep calm and not worry. Not that he wasn't very worried, but with the attack on the capitol coming, he was a little worried. He wanted to just be able to sit in silence with Sabine, preserve the moment. But they didn't have that time.

"What is it?" Sabine asked, prompting him to continue.

Ezra took a deep breath. "I know it's been hard for us recently, with losing Kanan and all of that. Especially for Hera. But, Sabine, I need you to promise that whatever happens, just let me do what I have to do. Okay?"

Sabine raised an eyebrow. "Okay?"

"You have to promise," Ezra reaffirmed, holding out a pinky for more emphasis. "Promise?"

Sabine chuckled at the pinky held out before her. "Really, Ezra?"

But Ezra didn't waver, looking her dead in the eyes.

Sabine sighed. "Alright. I promise I'll let you do what you have to." She hooked her pinky around his and they tightened the grip around the other's finger.

As Ezra loosened his grip he sighed and let go looking out to the horizon. "One more thing?"

"What is it?" Sabine asked, putting a hand on top of Ezra's on the cliff side.

"I'm counting on you, Sabine," Ezra stated, looking over at her. "Always."

"Okay," Sabine said with a smile, slightly confused by what the thing he kept saying. "You're counting on me. I know. You often are."

"Yeah, well," Ezra said with a shrug. "I…I really mean it this time. Just remember: let me do what I have to and I'm counting on you." His tone of voice was very somber, and despite Sabine's confusion, she understood that he was serious.

Sabine squeezed his hand. "Alright. I will."
