It had been a few days since Cedar had earned his third gym badge. But now Cedar was on an entirely new mission. To find Giovanni and ask him about calling Cedar, "son."

Cedar had been walking along Route 11 looking for Giovanni when he ran into Cross again.

"Dammit, it's you again. I won't be losing to a weakling like you," said Cross

Without warning, Cross sent out not Lycanroc, but what looked to be some black and red cat-looking Pokemon.

Cedar pulled out his Pokedex and saw that the pokemon Cross sent out was a pokemon by the name of Torrocat

"Torrocat, the evolution of Litten. A fire type" stated the Pokedex

"Hm, Torrocat. A fire type huh?" commented Cedar

"Yeah?! So what?! Just send out a Pokemon already!" yelled Cross in anger and frustration

(thinking to himself)

Hm, Torrocat. I've heard of this pokemon before. I played the Gen 8 games. But the Torrocat seems much more intimidating in person. I better play this safe with type advantages

"Alright, Nidoking! Come on out!" shouted Cedar

Cedar threw his Pokeball in a curve-ball fashion, and out came his powerful Nidoking

Cross and his Torrocat looked up at the intimidating and fearsome Nidoking in shock and fear.

"Nidoking, Dig!" instructed Cedar.

Nidoking then started clawing and hacking at the ground and then dug a hole underground.

"Torrocat, flame burst!" yelled Cross.

Torrocat shot out a quick burst of fire but obviously missed due to Nidoking being underground.

Cedar noticed that Torrocat's Flame Burst was headed right for him, and Cedar was unable to dodge it.

Cedar braced for impact when something of large size jumped in front of him and took the hit.

Cedar opened his eyes to see a huge Kangaskhan standing in front of him.

The Kangaskhan looked over its shoulder and smiled at Cedar. The Kangaskhan then used a Mega Punch that OHKO'd Cross's Torrocat.

"What the? No fair!" yelled Cross

Cross sent out Lycanroc next, and the Kangaskhan used a Focus Blast to OHKO Cross's Lycanroc.

Without a word, Cross ran away with his fainted Pokemon.

"So, seems you were in a bit of a bind there," said a man behind Cedar

Cedar turned around to find Giovanni standing behind him

"Oh, what made you think that?" asked Cedar

"Well, it seemed you were about to get hit by a Pokemon move. Don't think that would feel too good," stated Giovanni

"Oh, yea, that's true. Hey, while you are here, I need to ask you something," declared Cedar

"What is it?" asked Giovanni

"You called me son a few hours ago. Why?" questioned Cedar.

Giovanni gave a sigh before talking.

"Well, you know how your father disappeared before you even got to know him?" asked Giovanni

"Uh, yeah. How do you know that?" questioned Cedar.

"I am your father Cedar. And I never meant to leave you and your mother. It was a complete accident," said Giovanni

"What? How can you be my dad?" asked Cedar

"Well let me explain"

(FLASHBACK)

"Honey, I am sorry, but I have to go back. I miss that place so much. As much as I love you and our coming baby, I want to go back and feel the sensation," said Jack.

"But Jack, I can't raise our baby on my own. Please don't leave us," begged the mother.

"I-i can't. But I will do this. I will leave this money for our son to buy the pokemon games, from Gen 1-8. He will grow up to love Pokemon naturally, and he will eventually come to this world once he is 18. I promise," said Jack

"Please do not do this to me," begged the mother once more.

Jack then turned around and stared at the GameBoy he had in his hand. He pressed certain buttons in a certain order. He started to get sucked into the GameBoy. He turned around, and with his last moments, he smiled and waved at the mother. He then had completely disappeared, and all that was left was the Gameboy. The mother picked it up, held it, and started to cry. She then locked the GameBoy in a safe, only to give it to Chris, their son, at 18.

(RETURN TO PRESENT TIME)

"And that is why you are here. That Gameboy was cursed and had trapped me in there once. I got out, but then I dearly missed my Pokemon and the world i grew accustomed to," said Giovanni

"Wow. I can't believe you're actually my father," said Cedar in shock.

"I know it is a lot to take in Cedar. I wanted to tell you when we first met, but I knew with me like this, you would have just seen me as the enemy and battled me," said Giovanni

Without a word, Cedar teared up and suddenly hugged Giovanni.

"There there son. I know its a lot," said Giovanni

Cedar then broke away from the hug and said, "I'm so glad I can finally meet you Dad."

"And I'm glad I can meet my son. But don't you have something you should be doing?" asked Giovanni

"Oh, that's right. I've got to go to Celadon and battle the gym leader there!" exclaimed Cedar.

Cedar returned Nidoking to its respective Pokeball, then ran towards the way to Saffron to get to Celadon.

"Heh. My son is finally here. I know he can make it to the Indigo League and become the new Champion," said Giovanni before returning his Kangaskhan to its respective Pokeball before walking away to Fuschia City.
