Chapter 5 Twilight 1
The Cullen's plus Bella stood out in front the school by their vehicles, other students loiter around while others went inside. The sound of upbeat music caught their attention as a blue Ferrari pulled up and parked. The driver stepped out pulling on a leather jacket glancing around at her gawking audience.
Ignoring the stares Kagome bent over slightly retrieving her bag from the passenger seat giving a nice view of her ass in the tight leather pants she wore to the male's pleasure. Straightening she locked the doors and turned to head inside the building. Nearing the Cullen's she glance their way making eye contact with Edward for a moment, gliding pass.
The onlookers were stunned by her unearthly beauty and grace more so than their school stars the Cullen's. Edward frowned at the humans thoughts towards the new student and his siblings gaining said 'siblings' attention.
"Something wrong?" Bella asked concerned.
"No, nothing's wrong" he answered staring after the leaving female. His siblings grew curious though Bella's displeased at his staring at another girl, especially a human believing he had no interest in them.
Kagome meanwhile got to the office and retrieve her class schedule and etc. grouching inwards through it all.
She never wanted to attend another high school ever again fill with hormonal teens, having been to many including collages over the last eight hundred and add years. It was torture but this time was for work and a punishment from her mate. If you're wondering what kind of work would bring someone of her caliber to this back water town, which would be finding and documenting any supernatural activities in the area.
Someone else was supposed to do this grunt work decades ago but kept getting put off so her mate 'generously' sent her 'since she had so much time on her hand to waste on nonsensical things' his words, the jerk.
So far she already found some beings that felt like rock yokai and undead human mix with something venomous. It was strange like they were some experiment.
Seems she was in the same class as the one she made eye contact with earlier. The day went on uneventful other than him staring on occasions then lunch rolled around.
Kagome walked into the cafeteria ignoring the whispers and stares choosing to sit in an empty seat by the glass window. Pulling out an apple from her bag she bit into it staring outside. Half way through her cell rang, "Kagome speaking" she monotone watching the cloudy sky.
"Hey Gome, how's it going over there?" a male voice asked.
"It's gloomy, I wanna go home already and I only arrived the other day, I'm bored out of my mind" she wined.
"Weren't you complaining about wanting boring for a change" he retort.
"Not of this boring Shippo dear, only an emo or a vampire would thrive here, worst an emo vampire" she huffed as he laughter at her complaint.
"How about I stop by and keep you company for a week then" he suggest.
"That would be great but I thought you were too busy in Korea, you're not trying to ditch work are you?" she asked suspicious.
"Of course not, he manage to keep his tone even, father would be upset otherwise, I just happen to acquire some free time and offer to spend it with my lovely mother" he explain calmly.
"Un-huh, lets pretend I believe you since your presence will be appreciated" 'and it would cause my dear mate some trouble' she smirked.
"Thanks mom, I'll take my private jet once I leave work, I should be there by tomorrow evening if nothing happens."
"Great, safe travels dear" she hung up with a sigh then decide to head back to class early.
During the entire call the Cullen's were ease dropping, surprise by the conversation and now suspicious of her.
Kagome walked out but not before sparing a glance at the creatures seeing them staring at her thought she was curious about the human girl sitting with them.
They watched her leave the cafeteria after glancing their way then eyeing Bella.
The next day while Kagome was outside alone during lunch taking pictures of the forest (she brought her camera since she decide to explore the surrounding area later) with her lycon when she heard footsteps approaching.
"Hey can we talk for a minute" a feminine voice spoke.
"What could we possible talk about with us being complete strangers" Kagome retort still snapping pictures. (She wore a pair of tight jeans with a grey off-shoulder crop-top and black boots with her hair down, BTW.)
"Who are you really and what are you doing here?" she demand.
Kagome pause lowering the camera then turned fully to the girl raising a brow, "isn't that a bit rude Ms. Swan in assuming you have the right to question my presence here" she spoke sweetly.
"I do when I involve my boyfriend and his family, Bella replied firmly, I saw the way you stare at them and Edward even told me to stay away from you."
"And you foolishly ignored his warning, she chuckled closing the distant between them, what would you have done had I been dangerous and decide to 'hurt' you, she smirked when Bella flinch taking a step back, confronting me alone with no one around was a stupid decision, Kagome grasp Bella's chin in an almost painful hold preventing further retreat, you should listen to that undead boyfriend of yours, Bella pale eyes widening, for the next person you confront child may not be as nice as me" she gave a closed eye smile sending chills down the now scared girl's spine.
"Stay away from her" a new voice interrupted suddenly immediately pulling Bella away from her reach.
Kagome's smile widen, "looks like your knight's here Ms. Swan, not in the lease affected by the males glare, I do hope you take my words to heart, see you around, Ms. Swan" she turned to leave.
"Stay away from her" Edward warned.
"Humph, I believe you should be saying that to your rude girlfriend" she threw icily over her shoulder before walking away.
Kagome kept to herself choosing not to make friend seeing no point since she will be leaving soon though she return greetings. And discovering the real reason for being there (the string of murders, missing teens) besides what her mate told her strengthens her choice since having friends would only hinder her work. One of the main reason for the camera and going to explore the surrounding area.
After school Kagome drove and parked by the road where no one usually ventures, walking into the woods. Spreading her senses she treks further in taking pictures of wild plants and any cute furry animals she come across. Kagome paused when two familiar auras came across her senses from behind. With a hum she continued on pretending to have not notice them, they follow at what they thought a safe distant.
Two other similar yet unfamiliar auras register a few minutes later speeding her way. Coming to a stop two teens appeared ten yards before her, pale with crimson pupils, 'more undead humans.'
"What are you two doing out here?" she asked casually feigning ignorance.
The two behind her moved closer yet out of site to intervene when the newborns attack. "You're not our target, the male begins, meaning you're food" the girl finished.
'Creepy' Kagome thought.
They move at once but were foiled by the two behind her, Kagome stood back subtly taking shots of the fight then fled before it was over. She drove to her temporary home, hidden behind a barrier in the woods, built decades ago only access-able to family members and those with permission. It's a modern two story house painted brown and grey with floor to ceiling glass windows covered by brown drapes and a glass balcony on the second floor.
Parking out front she decides to travel to La Push via light orb through the woods to avoid attention.
"Welcome back my lady" a female maid greets when she exited the car.
"I'm not staying, I only came to leave my car to move freely, oh and Shippo will be here soon so make preparations" Kagome informed then surround herself in a ball of light, camera in hand then flew off into the trees without awaiting a response.
She land in a clearing after a while, sensing familiar auras, 'shifters, haven't seen their kind in a while, wonder what they're doing here?' Masking her presence Kagome flew closer to their location landing in a tree overhead, looking down seeing a pack of large wolves though she'd seen bigger, 'but why are they so big shouldn't they at least pretend to be regular wolves to avoid attention?' she ponders while taking pictures as they ran off.
Scrolling through the memory she decides to visit the beach she had heard some students talking about and snap some scene for her art collection. Flying to the edge of the forest the light orb dissolve, Kagome walked to the sandy banks taking snaps of the area slowly making her way up the beach where she sense others. She stopped thirty yards away from other sifter interacting with humans, taking pictures of the setting sun, standing near the water as the wind blows her hair.
"Excuse me" a somewhat timid male voice spoke from behind.
Kagome turned while tucking unruly strands behind her ear. He stared at her as though in a trance, "I know I'm pretty but staring is rude" she teased.
He blushed snapping out of his daze, "S-sorry"
"That's ok but is there something I can help you with?"
"Well, um…" he scratch the back of his head nervously.
She giggled at his dilemma, "I'm Kagome" she held out a hand.
"Seth, he took hold of her offered hand, so are you new here cause I've never seen you around before" he withdrew his hand.
"Yeah, just moved here a few days ago, she smile, let me guess, your friends dared you to talk to me right" she states amuse glancing at his huge snickering (shifter) friends a few yards away wearing only jeans shorts with tribal tattoos.
His answer was a guilty smile, "You're lucky I'm a nice person and that pretty face of yours helps too, she flirts moving closer as he flushed red sputtering, you should have more confidence when approaching a pretty girl, she whispers close to his ear while trailing a finger lightly from the center of his chest to his lower abdomen drawing circles, though be cautious she could be a dangerous predator" she bit his ear earning a whimper.
Meanwhile his friends watched on in shock envy at her bold actions then she walked away after caressing their friend's cheek.
"What was that all about?" one of them asked after they rushed over.
"I imprinted on her" Seth spoke in a daze.
"What!?" they shout.
Kagome once under the cover of the trees used their branches to travel back. Landing in the drive way she was enveloped in a bear hug, "Mom, where were you, you weren't here when I arrive to welcome me, I missed you so much" followed by spinning.
Kagome accepted the assault unfazed, "I missed you too Shippo, she replied after being placed back on her feet, let's talk inside" she loop her arm through his leading him in as a butler opened the front door for them. They went to the sitting area where snacks and drinks were place for them.
"Oh before I forget, here the info you wanted" Shippo pulled out a brown folder out of thin air handing it over to her.
"Thanks but how'd you get this so fast" she asked while going through the contents.
"I have connections everywhere" he boast proudly a cookie in each hand.
"Hn, so I was right they are an experiment"
