Hiccup felt the wind in his hair and the sun was warm on his face as they zoomed by over the island. " Toothless are you ready buddy? " Toothless nodded his head. " yep " Toothless felt his friend stand up on his back. " ok in 3. 2. 1. jump! " Hiccup jumped off his back; free-falling as toothless dived after him. they fell with each other feeling the adrenaline pump through their veins.
when they rejoined and headed Towards the Sky. when they landed back on the island Hiccup felt like the world was at peace as he landed on the ground with a soundless thud. toothless followed and laid down beside him; licking him all over. " bud! stop it you can't wash this off! " Hiccup smiled as he playful pushed his friend off. " thank you bud, I needed this " Hiccup smiled and rubbed his head. Meatlug ran into him. " do you wanna play to girl? " Meatlug spun around and flew off. " I'll take that as a yes " Toothless saw Hiccup run off and play with Meatlug.
He was happy to see his friend-less worried about his sire finding him and berk.
around noon Hiccup packed up his finished metalwork to sell at the marketplace. toothless let out a happy roar. " ok bud we're ready now "within half an hour they made it to the marketplace. " you go to our stall ok " he knew toothless would be able to get there unnoticed.
when he made his way through the marketplace. he felt people stare at him.
when he got to his stall; he unpacks his wares with a smile. he set up his stall and noticed a man approach him. " oh hello sir " hiccup gave him a polite smile. " how can I help you today? " the man looked at him and tried to look in the back but couldn't do to the curtain. " you must be a long way from home? I haven't seen you around the island " he knew who the boy was but wanted to know what happened and how he got here.
the boy looked thin but not malnourished. he had pretty green eyes and a feminine face. he was pretty for sure but that didn't give someone the right to do what they did to him. in all honesty he felt bad for the lad. raped and being taken from his home and family. the boy looked at him with nervous eyes. " oh. yea. I come from another island nearby... " the boy put pulled out some nicely made weapons. " are you looking for new weapons by chance? I also have different tools you may need "
the boy looked a bit pale now. " ay ya got any axes? " the boy looked a little calmer now. " um.. yea in the back. " he left to the back. he needed to know how he got here. was he being held captive on a ship somewhere nearby? or did he really run away with his lover? it was such a mystery on how the boy left. people often made up their own endings for these kinda things. he noticed the boy brought some tools with him. he looked rather small but size does not equal strength. he'd know; he'd met women who brought down men three times their size. " so lad how'd you get here. by boat, ship maybe? "
the lad dropped something before replying. " oh... by ship much faster, ya know?.." Hiccup gulped down while he got the axe he made for the man as he walked back to the front he saw the man looked at with curiosity and a bit of pity.
the man's eyes soon went from Hiccup to the axe he was holding. the man saw how the wood was carved with ruins of protection and strength. the carvings were beautiful and delicate looking. the head of the axe was Sharp and had some ruins on it too for good measure. all in all the axe was beautiful. it must have taken months too make something so intricate. the lad handed him the axe. " that'll be 13 silver please " for something like this the lad should've been selling it for 15 gold! if not more so. it was clearly made with someone in mind. " this is beautiful lad. was it made for someone else by chance? " the man saw the lad shrink back a bit. did something happen? " I made it for myself in mind but I don't feel right wielding an axe, ya know? " the man nodded; a man's weapon was his pride and joy after his family of course. if it didn't suit him it didn't mean there was something wrong with him, the weapon just didn't fit him. he let out a sigh and looked to see if his captures were around; it make sense with the lad being so nervous. Hiccup was anxious with this man staring at him but he was happy he liked the axe he made. he didn't notice the man try to look in the back again.
the man paid for his axe but lingard nearby. he wanted to see if one of his captures would come too him. he noticed a blonde girl with shoulder length hair with a boy with red hair in a ponytail. he listened in. " Hiccup we came here to- "
Hiccup glared at both of them. " to what? try and break into my stall again or hurt my best friend? " Hiccup's hips swayed as he gave them both a pointed look. thork rubbed the back of his head while mala rubbed her arm. " ok maybe we deserve that..." this caught the man's attention. " ah so the lad left with a friend and not a lover now who are they? friends as well probably not "
Hiccup didn't let up on his glare. " and more, but I have a shop to run so tell me what you want " thork took a breath " we came to say we're sorry for the way we acted, we know we were irrationally. we didn't have the right to call you a hunter with out proof..." mala nodded in agreement. " thork is right, we didn't have the right " Hiccups shook his head " no you didn't " mala bite her lip a bit " didn't know please forgive us for that mishap " Hiccup nodded " ok I'll forgive you when you apologize to toothless as well, for intruding his personal space and upsetting him " the two nodded " deal " mala said looking less guilty. Hiccup ushered them to the back of the stall behind the sheet.
toothless was laying down taking a nap when Hiccup came in with two of the strangers from before. he got up ready to protect Hiccup when Hiccup walked over and padded his head. " it's ok bud, they're here to tell you something. " the female took a deep breath. " we're sorry, we jump to conclusions. please forgive us?..." she looked at Hiccup for an answer. " his name is toothless " the female and the male looked at each other before Hiccup spoke up. " his teeth are retractable " the two sighed in relief. the female spoke again. " toothless " he looked at both of them and nodded. " you hurt him again and I'll bite you " toothless looked at both of them " ok I think he forgives you " Hiccup smiled and rubbed his head with both hands.
mala looked at him. how long had they known each other? Did the something happen for them to be this close or did they just bond? She did feel sorry for what happened to him. He was young. But that didn't make it ok. She wanted to hug him and tell him sorry for being so blatantly stupid or help him through what has to be a really rough time for him.
she hadn't noticed Hiccup wave them over. Thork walked over to him. Hiccup took thork's hand in his. " Let's have toothless get your scent, ok " thork blushed lightly as the auburn hair boy took his hand and didn't hear what he said. mala watched as the night fury sniffed his hand and licked him. thork still couldn't take his eyes off him. when Hiccup let go of him and walked over to mala with an open hand. " come on mala you too " she looked at him and then at thork before walking over feeling her body heat up with nervousness that was surly showing on her face. thork stepped aside for mala to have a seat. she just hoped the night fury would accept her scent too. when she sat down in front of the noble night fury that sniffed her hands before licking her; she let out a small light laugh.
they got some weapons with a smile. as they leave Hiccup waved bye to them smiling. Hiccup felt a little better about today. he doesn't completely trust them but they did apologize to him and toothless so they're not that bad for the time being. the old man left shortly after.
it was already getting late when it started raining down on Stoick and the other hunters. they got some good game out of it. fox, boar, deer. Stoick walked back to the village when Gobber stopped him. " Alvin, cami, Thugger and Dagur are here. they're waiting for you in your hut chief "
Stoick let out a sigh. he throw his axe over his shoulder and walked to his hut to greet his ( annoyances ) guests.
Dagur was holding cami who looked a bit green while Dagur looked a bit red. Thugger was looking over some letters probably not hearing him come him. and Alvin was sing some shanty about marmaids. " hello? " Alvin stopped singing and all of them turned to look at him. " so i see you all came at the same time? " Dagur held cami tighter to him so he wouldn't kill Stoick ( yet)
Stoick took a seat and put down his axe next to his person. the teens awkwardly look at him. Cami spoke up first. " we wanted to know if they're is anything else about Hiccup's disappearance. " Cami wanted him claw out his eyes. " we know you did something! " she didn't like to act dumb. but they needed to look for more evidence and clues against Stoick. it took all they had not to glare at him or attack him. " no I don't think so im afraid " at that moment all four people have the same thought running through their head after hear what Stoick said. " bullshit! "
Stoick got up and stretched his arms.
" it's getting late right now. can we to this tomorrow? " Alvin got up and patted Thuggers back. " it his light, come on " they nodded and left the hut. Stoick let out a breath. " I'd like to know where he went too " he let out a slight groan while he sat in his chair. " and when i found you again I'll make sure you never leave. even if i have to lock you away from everyone "
he stared into the fire. looking for an answer and where Hiccup might be.
when they left they glared at the hut before going to their ships to ' sleep ' . Dagur open the door to his bedroom Chambers. he was filled with rage. how dare Stoick lie to them and try and cover it up with vague answers. he wanted to rip Stoick's head from his body and paint his own hut with his blood and entrails. but he couldn't kill him yet before getting evidence to call a village thing against Stoick. he reluctantly sharpened his weapons.
cami was ripping apart pillows and punching the wall. Stoick had the stones to lie about knowing anything that happened to her brother. she was going to make sure he rots far away from anyone. eventually she had to calm herself down before she really did kill him and jeopardize their plans.
Thugger was in tears. his brother was raped in his own home. they way it read maybe pointed to Stoick and with they they treated Hiccup. he wouldn't put it past Stoick to add to the list of mistreatment by raping hiccup himself or letting someone else do it. but he was going to get answers and he wouldn't stop till he did.
Alvin solemnly walked around his room while still being boiling mad for what happened to the boy. Hiccup was barely a man still a boy and he let someone rape him or he did it and the boy might be dead for all he knows. he wasn't close but he had respect for the boy enough to try and find out what really happened to him. and when did he'll take the throne from Stoick and send him to the gallows to be hanged.
the old man went to the ship with the rest of the crew and wrote in his journal about the young lad. he and the other men quickly retired to bed.
Hiccup started to notice it was getting dark and he needed to get home. Hiccup closed up his stall and snuck away into the woods with toothless to fly him to the edge. when they returned home he was exhausted from a long day. he took off toothless's saddle. gave him a massage. fed him and the other dragons. himself and finally to bed
