Sonic was running as fast as he could to Ganondorf's castle. When he got there, he was horrified by the sight! Then, he heard a voice. "Sonic, can you hear me? It's EVE," said the voice. "EVE? Where are you?" Asked Sonic. "We are standing by, ready for battle," said EVE. "Listen. There are six barriers protecting Ganondorf's castle. Bring down the barriers, then save Princess Zelda." Magic sparkles rained down from the dark sky, making a bridge. "Wow!" Exclaimed Sonic. He ran across the bridge and came across the entrance to the castle. He looked at the electric barrier surrounding it. He dared to touch it with one finger and instantly got a shock! "Ouch!" He cried, and sucked on his sore finger with a groan. "It feels like I've been shocked with shock." Navi gave it a kiss to heal it with her magic. "Thanks, Navi," said Sonic with a smile. Navi nodded, then showed Sonic to another door at the far end of the wall. "So that's how I can take down the barriers," said Sonic. He looked around and saw six doors, one leading to each barrier room. He smiled. "This will be a piece of cake," he said.
The first trial was the water barrier. Sonic had to run through an ice cave where it was freezing. "Ooh! Why couldn't the sages warn me about this place?" Sonic complained with a shiver. Luckily, there was a pot with blue fire nearby where Sonic could warm up. "Ahh. That's better," he said. Then, using two Deku sticks, he lit two torches and the door opened. Once Sonic entered the barrier room, he saw what looked like a huge ball. So that's what's producing the barrier, thought Sonic. I wonder if the light arrows can shut it down. He shot a light arrow at the barrier core. When it hit it, sure enough, the barrier disappeared and Sonic saw a holographic spirit of Daniel Dolphin, the water sage. "The water barrier has been dispelled. Hurry up!" He shouted.
The second trial was the forest barrier. Sonic had to defeat three wolfos by spin attacking them. Then, he used a Deku stick to light five torches to open the door. Then, he entered the barrier room and shot the barrier core with a light arrow to make the barrier disappeared. Then, a holographic spirit of Saria, the forest sage, appeared. "The forest barrier is dispelled. Hurry up, Sonic!" She shouted.
The third trial was the shadow barrier. The whole room was dark and Sonic couldn't see a thing! Luckily, Navi's glowing body lit up the path in front of him and he walked cautiously towards a circle of torches. He used a Deku stick to light up the torches and the entire room was lit up. Now Sonic could see! He walked through the next door and saw a huge chasm. He put on his hover boots and walked across the chasm to the other side where he lit two more torches with another Deku stick and opened the second door. Finally, he arrived in the barrier room where he shot the barrier core with his light arrow, making the barrier disappear. This time, a holographic spirit of Impa, the shadow sage, appeared. "The shadow barrier is dispelled! Please save the princess!" She shouted.
The fourth trial was the fire barrier. The room was hot! "Phew!" Exclaimed Sonic, before putting on his goron's tunic. This time, he remembered exactly what kind of heat shield he needed to protect him in the fire temple. With his hover boots, he ran across the giant fire pit to the other side where he opened the door. Inside the barrier room, Sonic shot the barrier core with the light arrow to make the barrier disappear. Then a holographic spirit of the Scarlet Scorch, the fire sage appeared. "The fire barrier is dispelled! Hurry up, brother!" She shouted.
The fifth trial was the light barrier. Sonic saw a room that looked just like the temple of time, but there didn't seem to be any obstacles. Not ones that he could see. As he stepped forward, he saw a door that looked just like the door of time. There were no torches to light, but luckily, Sonic remembered how he opened the door of time seven years ago. He played the Song of Time on his ocarina and the door opened, just like the door of time! Only this time, instead of the master sword, he saw the barrier core. Sonic shot it with a light arrow and the barrier disappeared. A holographic spirit of EVE, the leader of the six sages. "The light barrier is dispelled! Hurry!" She shouted.
The last trial was the spirit barrier. For this trial, Sonic had to use the mirror shield to bounce light all over the room until it hit the sun sign. That made the door open. Then, Sonic saw the last barrier core. He shot it with the light arrow and the barrier disappeared. A holographic spirit of Ferdinand, the sage of spirit, appeared. "The spirit barrier is dispelled! Hurry, Sonic!" He shouted.
When Sonic was warped back to the entrance of Ganondorf's castle, the electric forcefield was gone and Sonic could finally get in. He ran up the stairs, following the growing sound of an organ playing. It was coming from the very top of the tower. On his way up the tower, Sonic found a key to open the door to Ganondorf's room. He picked it up and continued on his way up the stairs. Soon, Sonic came to a big door and the music was coming from the other side. Sonic unlocked the door with the key and sighed. "Well, this is it," he said with an exhale. "I'm coming, princess."
