The G.O.A.T Episode 2.3

Everyone just stood there quietly as they stared at the father and daughter duo. Danielle stared at her with a variety of emotions; shock, sadness, realization, and finally anger. Her father looked at his eldest daughter with calmness with a hint of happiness. Naruto and Emily along with her family can feel the tension between the pair. After what seemed like an hour of a staring contest, the father turned his gaze away from his daughter to the boy standing right next to her.

"You must be Naruto Namikaze, Jessica's boyfriend. And the star athlete of Senju Academy's men's basketball team. My name is Kenny Prince; I'm their father," Kenny said.

Kenny stuck out his hand for Naruto to shake. Naruto was about to shake the man's hand when Danielle smacked him down. Danielle turned her attention back towards her father her glare intensified.

"We're not going to do this. What do you want?" Danielle questioned her father.

"Dani, can we talk somewhere private?" Kenny asked.

Dani stared at her father with a questionable look on her face. "Naru, I'll meet you in the car. I need to have a conversation with my father," Dani told Naruto.

"It was nice meeting you and your family, Emily," Danielle said.

The father and daughter walked away from the group. Naruto and Emily stared at their retreating forms with a frown on their faces.

Emily and her family waved goodbye to Naruto as they drove out of the parking lot. Naruto was texting Jessica while he waited for Dani to come back from talking with her father. Naruto frowned when he didn't receive a text back from Jessica. He was about to put his phone away when it rang.

"Hello," Naruto answered.

"How's it going little bro?" a voice said from the other line.

Naruto smiled when he heard the voice of his sister. He has seen his sister since Christmas it felt nice to hear her voice. "Kasumi, what's up?" Naruto said.

"Nothing much. I just wanted to check up on you. I heard your team won the championship last week. Congrats," Kasumi said.

"Thank you. Also, congrats to you too I heard that you got nominated for an Emmy and an Oscar as well," Naruto said.

"Thank you so much. But seriously how are things over there?" Kasumi asked.

Naruto went on to tell his sister what's being going on with his life. The siblings talked for about 15 minutes before Kasumi had to get back to work. Naruto got inside his car and waited for Dani to return. He didn't have to wait that long when he noticed her walking down the hallway. Naruto did notice the tears running down her face when he saw her.

"Everything alright?" Naruto asked.

"Um, yeah. It's just the emotions getting the best of me," Danielle said.

Naruto didn't believe her one bit, but he left it alone and pulled out of the parking lot. The pair drove in complete silence as they drove up to the Prince house where they saw two familiar cars in the driveway.

"It looks mom and Jessica are home," Danielle sighed out.

"What? You do want to see your mom?" Naruto asked.

"No, it's not that. It's just if I go in there, I have to tell mom that my dad is back and he wants to meet with her," Danielle said.

"Why?" Naruto questioned.

"The last time my dad was here he wormed his way back into my mom's heart. Acting as he changed, but that was just a lie. When he left again it broke my mom and it took us a while to get her back to her regular self. I don't want her to go back to that dark place again," Danielle said.

"I get that, but Dani if you don't tell her and she finds out from someone else. It's going to be worse," Naruto said.

Danielle couldn't argue with Naruto's point. Her mom finding out that her dad was back from someone else will be bad. Especially if finds out that Danielle knew all along and didn't tell her. So, with her mind made up Danielle got out of the car.

"Thanks for your help, Naru. I'm going to tell her hopefully she doesn't fall for the same tricks," Danielle said.

"I wish you the best, Dani," Naruto said.

The pair waved goodbye as Danielle headed inside. Once she entered the house Naruto drove off.

A Few Hours Earlier

Jessica angrily exited out of the locker room wearing street clothes and carrying her duffle bag. She was in the middle of texting Hunter when someone called out her name. Jessica stopped walking and turned to the person. Standing right across from Jessica was her father, Kenny Prince. Kenny walked up to his youngest daughter and frowned when he saw the duffle bag and noticed that she was in street clothes.

"Going somewhere?" Kenny asked.

"It's none of your business, but I'm going to meet a friend," Jessica said.

"But the game is still going on," a confused Kenny said.

"What do you want, Kenny?" Jessica demanded.

"What a father can't stop by and see his daughter?" Kenny questioned.

"Oh. Why now?" Jessica asked.

"I missed you guys and I heard you had a game today," Kenny said.

"You missed us? Yeah, right that's a load of bullshit and you know it. Piece of shit," Jessica said.

Kenny sighed and looked at his daughter with a tired look on his face. "Jess, can we not do this right now. Look I just wanted to talk with your mother," Kenny said.

"No, you stay away from her, you asshole. I will not allow you to destroy her again," Jessica stated.

Jessica started walking away from her father when he shouted something that made her stop in her tracks. "I see that your game hasn't improved," Kenny said.

"What did you just say?" Jessica questioned as she marched towards each other.

The father and daughter pair came face to face. Not willing to back down Kenny continued what he was saying.

"I saw you out there I was watching every single one of your moves. You haven't improved one bit. All those teachings I have provided to you and yet you're still lacking," Kenny said.

"What is it that I am lacking, father? Huh, you tell me what I am lacking," Jessica said.

"Your killer instinct, your drive to be the best. You lack discipline. You're allowing yourself to get distracted out there and that is making you lose focus. Your emotions are what got you on the bench for the rest of the game. Right now, you're about to walk out on your teammates all because you allowed the mere presence of me to get you unfocused and distracted," Kenny said.

"I expected more from you, Jess. It seems that I was wrong. Listen to your mother that we need to talk," Kenny said.

With that, Kenny walked away from Jessica. Watching her father walk away and his words ringing inside her head, set something off in Jessica. As gripped her bag strap tightly and walked towards her destination. Jessica arrived at the parking lot looking for Hunter. She saw him sitting on the hood of his car smoking a blunt. Hunter noticed Jessica coming his way and smiled. He was about to say something when Jessica took the blunt out of his hand and put it in her mouth.

"Come on let's get out of here. And head back to your place," Jessica said.

"Sure," Hunter said taking his blunt back.

The pair got inside the car and drove out of the arena. They made it to Hunter's house a few minutes later. "So, what took you so long. You had me waiting for about three minutes?" Hunter asked.

"I don't want to talk about it," Jessica said while exiting the car.

"Bring a condom!" Jessica shouted at Hunter as she entered his house.

10 minutes Later

Hunter was lying down on his bed breathing heavily while Jessica was getting dressed. "As usual that was amazing. So, what are you about to do?" Hunter asked.

"I'm heading back to the arena to get my car and then I'm heading home," Jessica said while putting her shirt on.

"Oh, do you need a ride back?" Hunter asked.

"Nah, my Uber is on the way," Jessica said.

Right after she said that her phone pinged letting her know that her Uber was outside. "Listen my Uber is outside. So," Jessica said.

"Yeah, yeah. When can I see you again?" Hunter asked.

"Hmm, I'll text you," Jessica said.

Jessica walked out of the room and out of the house. She got inside her Uber and headed back to the arena. When she got there Jessica headed straight for her car and made sure that nobody was following her. Spotting her car, she was about to head inside when a voice stopped her.

"Jessica?! What the hell are you doing here?" Chelsea asked with a confused look on her face.

Chelsea and her brother Aaron just arrived at the arena to watch the game but came in late because of family issues. They were surprised to see their friend Jessica in the parking lot about to enter her car. Jessica was surprised to see the two and cursed as they were about to ask a lot of questions that she didn't want to answer. So, she put on a fake smile and greeted the twins.

"Chelsea, Aaron, what are you guys doing here?" Jessica asked.

"We came to see the game, but we arrived late because of personal issues. What are you doing here shouldn't you be playing right now?" Chelsea asked.

"Did we miss the game? Is it over already?" A frantic Aaron asked.

"Nah, the game is still going on. I'm heading home right now," Jessica said.

Chelsea frowned at this why would Jessica be heading home right now if the game is still going on? "Hey, um Aaron can you go find us some seats? I'm going to talk with Jess for a bit," Chelsea stated.

"Yeah, sure," Aaron said.

While her brother headed inside to find them some seats. Chelsea walked towards Jessica to get some answers. "Alright, what's going on? Why are you not in the game?" Chelsea asked her best friend.

Not wanting her best friend to find out that she had just come back from Hunter's house, Jessica lied to Chelsea about what was going on. "Um, my mom just texted me that there was an emergency, so I need to head home right now," Jessica lied.

"Oh, my god. Is everything okay? Should I get Naruto?" Chelsea asked.

"No, no. I'm sure it's nothing. Listen I must go. I hope you enjoy the game and I'll see you tomorrow," Jessica said while getting inside of her car.

"Text me later," Chelsea said.

"I will," Jessica said.

With that, Jessica drove out of the arena and headed home. When she got home Jessica headed straight towards her room and lay down on her bed going to sleep. "Fuck you, you bastard," She mumbled.
