TW: I'm very sorry about this but child abuse at the end of the chapter.

The aftermath from the visit from McGonagall was something Emma would never forget. It took professor McGonagall more than 2 hours to convince Richard it was absolutely necessary for Emma to go to Hogwarts. After she left Emma got the worst beating she ever got. She couldt go to school for two days and when she finally could go she was walking very slowly and everything hurt. Sasha had stepped in at some point during the beating but after that she couldn't remember. She did see the bruises on her sister. But when she asked Sasha just scoffed and ignored the subject. When November arrived she could finally meet with Hope again. When she came inside she was directly bombarded with questions and multiple letters from Remus. She had to write him back directly to calm him down. The last couple of days he had sent a letter everyday because she hadn't responded yet.

Dear Remy,

Sorry for the long silence. It's been a couple of hectic days. On my birthday a professor came by. She offered me a full scholarship for an archery school. Great right! After this I had to fix a lot of things. It is for next school year so I still got time. But I'm so excited. How is your school? How are the rowdy roommates? Already getting used to it? How are the classes? Does it still feel like magic? Just a couple more weeks and it is Christmas. You'll be home by then right? I have to tell you so much. Like Benny Johnson and his gang started bullying Olivia Harris and I saw the whole thing. So you know how I reacted. With other words. Benny and Inc are scared again and I didn't even need your shadow for it. Aurora is still asking about you by the way. Still isn't over the crush. You never should have given her that piece of chocolate. Your chocolate is only mine to get. The rest I will tell you when you are home.

Miss ya, Emm

Slowly December was coming. Because she would be going to Hogwarts next year Richard was determined to have her win as many competitions as possible. She barely had time to do her homework. At this point she didn't really care about homework anyway. She would rather spend the time with Hope or Sasha. After some convincing, she finally let Sasha meet Hope. Emma hoped that Hope could help Sasha when she went to Hogwarts. She couldn leave her sister all by herself. She always helped Emma, so it was time Emma helped Sasha. One day when Sasha came home in a panic because Hunter King, the most popular guy at school, asked her on a date, they ran to Hope. Hope laughed at the story and helped the girl with her hair. At the beginning of the date Sasha looked beautiful and confident. That didn't last long. Turns out the boy was a bully and only asked her because of a joke. Sasha said she was okay but Emma didn't believe it. She wanted revenge and she needed her best friend's help for it. So she sent a letter to Remus for help. She got a short answer back.

Emm,

My roommates are thinking along. They are nefarious and we will come with the best ideas. We will execute the plan during christmas break

Remy.

Just one more day. Than he was back. Ooh how she missed her best friend. Just a one more day and she could have her revenge. But first she had to win the archery match. She put on her gear and walked downstairs. Richard was waiting for her. He hasn't talked to her ever since professor McGonagall came by. He looked at her and nodded. Just once. Then turned around and walked away. Emma walked behind him. Sasha came running down the stairs. She still had a cut under her eye from her own match earlier that day. 'I'm coming with you!' At this Richard turned around and spat. 'No you will not' He looked very angry. 'It will just be the freak and me. This is the last match of the year and she will win this. I can't have two of my own daughters lose a match. My colleagues will laugh at me. A gym teacher with weak daughters. What a joke. Clean the house or something. Make yourself useful' With that he turned around and walked away. Emma looked at Sasha and said 'I'll be okay. I just gotta win this' She smiled and trutted after Richard

*Trigger warming*

She didn't win. Second place isn't winning according to Richard. The last shot she missed just by a couple of centimeters. Second place. When they got home she ran up the stairs hoping he would calm down. She told Sasha what happened and after that she ran to the bathroom. After a quick shower she changed into trainers and a jumper. Sasha was sitting on her bed. Emma took the same spot on the other bed. They looked at each other and swallowed. Then it started. First it was just doors slamming shut. Then the bottles that he threw at the walls. Then they heard him stomping up the stairs. Richard threw the door open. The door slammed into the wall. He stormed into the room 'My own daughters can't even win a stupid match! Do you think this is funny. Do you think we do this for fun. We only play to win!' He stormed at Sasha and slapped her across her face. 'Why are you such a disappointment!?' He turned to Emma. 'And you! What kind of stupid mistake was that? He hit her and Emma fell to the ground. 'You did it on purpose, didn't you? Just to spite me?' He kicked her in the stomach and turned around. He didn't look over his shoulder just walked away.

*End Trigger warning*

Sasha and Emma woke up on the first day of the Christmas holiday both with a headache and bruises. Emma looked out of the window and saw that the Lupin car was already gone. He would be home today. Then she saw her reflection. She needed make-up. Very quietly Emma walked to the bathroom. In the cupboard under the sink Sasha and Emma had a small pouch with make-up. Over the years they learned how to cover the scars and bruises. She didn't want to do everything so she just did her face. She put her long blond hair in a high ponytail and looked in the mirror. Dull brown eyes looked back. Just have a year left and then she was going to Hogwarts. But she would leave Sasha alone. She had to think of something.
