Chapter 4. A bond of friendship. Finding the mysterious Roaming Lake.

Bulma shook her head from her current thoughts.

What the hell am I doing? The scientist thought, shocked.

Her sexual frustrations made her lose her mind. Krillin was right. Zane was only a twelve-year-old boy. And she took advantage of him, treated him like a toy. For God's sake, she was losing her mind. After she heard about adultery from Chichi, the scientist really thought it was good to experience. And yes, it did feel good. There was no question about that. But, it was wrong. She released a sigh. And she took out her frustration on a kid. Dammit, Bulma, you really fucked up. She was not going to become a pedophile like Chichi. She needs to make it up to the kid somehow. But how? Suddenly, Bulma had an idea. That could work. It was still a prototype. But she could give it to Zane to apologize to him. It was a secret project she was working on. She didn't even tell Vegeta. It was called a gravity belt. Right now, it could only go to 500 times normal gravity. But with a few adjustments, it could maybe reach three times that number. Maybe even more. Bulma nodded. Yes, that was a perfect idea. I will work on it immediately after this fight.

Zane grinned at Gohan's amazing look. "So, what do you think?"

"Wow, what is this form? Your power has increased tremendously."

Zane chuckled. "Well, I actually thought about naming it my spirit form."

"Spirit form? But how did you obtain this power?"

Zane scratched his head in a goofy manner. Which made everybody remember a certain Saiyan.

"Huh, well, actually, I didn't obtain it. I awakened this power."

"Awakened," said Gohan confused.

The other Z-fighters looked in confusion at Zane.

"You see," said Zane with a grin.

The boy began to explain to Gohan all about the bloodline that he inherited from his ancestors.

"Fascinating," said Gohan with an intriguing look. "You say you are able to harness the power of spirits."

Zane nodded. "Yep, that's right."

Vegeta smirked. "Well, well, it's certainly an interesting ability to have."

Everyone nodded.

Piccolo smirked. "If you think that's impressive, just wait what other forms he is capable of unlocking."

"WHAT," screamed everybody, surprised. Gohan was shocked by Piccolo's words.

"So, does that mean you can become even stronger?"

Zane chuckled. "Maybe, but I have to raise my spiritual awareness for that to happen."

"So, how many forms can you unlock?"

Zane smirked. "I can't tell you all my secrets, now can I, Gohan? You will have to wait until that time comes."

Gohan pouted. "Spoilsport."

Zane laughed. "I think we talked more than enough. It's time we continue our match, don't you think?"

In an instant, Zane shortened the distance between him and Gohan. He gave the half Saiyan a devastating punch in the stomach. Gohan gasped. Blood and saliva came out of Gohan's mouth.

"Dammit," said Gohan in pain. "I let my guard down."

Gohan tried to counter, but Zane far surpassed his opponent's current strength right now. The human easily dodged all of Gohan's attacks. He grabbed the half Saiyan's fist with his left hand and pulled him towards him. Zane used the momentum to give the half Saiyan several punches with his right fist. Gohan gasped at the pain he felt going through his entire body.

"GOHAN," screamed Chichi, worried.

The onlookers were amazed by Zane's fighting ability.

"Incredible," said Krillin. "Zane is really amazing."

Vegetal nodded. "And that's not all."

Everybody looked at the prince.

"The brat has amazing fighting instincts. His senses and his aptitude for battle are astounding. the way he fights," Vegeta frowned. "He reminds me so much of Kakarot."

The others looked shocked at Vegeta's words.

Piccolo smiled. "That comes to no surprise for me. Zane respects Goku's strength a lot. He is the reason why Zane wanted to become so strong in the first place."

Everyone smiled when they heard that. Except for Vegeta. He just snorted.

Goku, thought Chichi with a sad smile.

Meanwhile, the battle kept going on fiercely. Every punch or kick that Gohan dished out was either dodged or countered.

"Cmon, Gohan," said Zane with a frown. "Transform already. You can't beat me like this in your base form."

Gohan gritted his teeth. He was only half Saiyan, but he still was one of the strongest warriors on Earth. He couldn't believe a human his age was matching him blow for blow. No, scratch that. He wasn't matching him. He was actually beating him. And the way Zane fought reminded him so much like his dad. Gohan never thought that someone his age would be any match for him. But he was proven wrong. An emotion suddenly went through the young Saiyan. He grinned. He had never felt like this before. He was getting pumped up.

"Alright, Zane, I guess I have no choice." Gohan clenched his fist and let out a huge scream. "AAAH."

A yellow aura engulfed the Saiyan hybrid. The shockwave of fierce winds made Zane close his eyes and cover them with his arms. When the boy opened them again, he grinned.

"Wow, so that's what a Super Saiyan feels like up close. I must say it's something else."

Gohan smirked. "You know, this comes as a surprise for me. I never thought I needed to transform to beat you. You sure showed me. However, it ends here. My power far surpasses yours."

Piccolo frowned at Gohan's words. "That's strange. Why is Gohan acting so cocky?"

Vegeta smirked. "Kakarot's brat may have found a rival in this Zane fellow. His Saiyan's instincts are acting up to show his supremacy."

Bulma sighed. "You Saiyan's and your superiority complex baffled me each time."

"Oh no, does that mean my sweet little Gohan has turned into a delinquent?"

Krillin chuckled. "I don't think you have to worry about that, Chichi. However, I do wonder what Zane will do."

Tien nodded. "Yes, me too." "Zane's power is amazing. But Gohan's energy is off the charts.

"Do you guys think he will give up," said Yamcha.

Krillin shrugged. "I don't know."

Piccolo snorted. "Giving up isn't in Zane's dictionary. Feeling Gohan's strength will only make him more determined to test himself more."

Zane frowned at Gohan's words. "Maybe, but it takes more than strength to win a fight."

Zane went in his demon-style stance. "Besides," said Zane with a grin. "Facing someone where the odds are stacked against you can only improve my ability."

Vegeta smirked. "Heh, the brat has guts. For an Earthling, he certainly is impressive."

"It's like I'm watching a mini Goku clone," said Krillin with a soft smile.

Yamcha chuckled. "Ain't that the truth. Facing someone in battle who far surpasses you while still having a grin on your face."

Bulma chuckled at Yamcha's words.

Gohan grinned. "I was hoping you would say that."

The two combatants disappeared from sight. Each blow that the two young warriors dished out at each other made shockwaves that we're felt throughout the clearing. Except for Vegeta, Piccolo, or 18, nobody could clearly see a thing.

"Holy cow. They are moving so fast. I can't keep track of them," said Krillin, frustrated.

Tien gritted his teeth. "It's like the Cell games all over again."

Yamcha sighed in depression. "Don't remind me."

It was a day they all wish they could forget.

Gohan broke through Zane's defenses. The Earthling gritted his teeth when Gohan's furious strikes began to rain down on him.

"Dammit, if this goes on any longer, I will be in trouble."

Suddenly, Zane had an idea. When Gohan went for a punch, he went through it instead of hitting his target.

"An after image," said Gohan surprised.

He located Zane a few meters above him, with the Sun shining harshly above him.

The Earthling grinned. "SOLAR FLARE," Zane screamed.

"CRAP," shouted the young Saiyan.

The young boy didn't expect Zane to know Tien's signature technique. He was caught off guard. And he wasn't the only one. All the spectators except for Master Roshi, who had his Sunglasses on, were blinded.

"Tien," said Yamcha, who was trying to shield his eyes from the blazing light. "I didn't know you taught him that technique."

"I didn't," said the bald martial artist. "I never gave Zane any teachings on how to use my technique."

"WHAT," screamed Yamcha. "THEN HOW DO YOU EXPLAIN THIS!"

"How should I know?"

"He must have learned your technique when he saw me using it to escape from Cell when he was still absorbing people," said Krillin with a grin while shielding his eyes.

"B-but just f-from seeing it o-once," stuttered Yamcha.

Vegeta smirked. The Saiyan prince had his eyes shut. He recognized the movements of the boy. He already felt victim to the technique many times in the past.

"The brat is talented, alright. You sure found an amazing warrior, Namek."

Piccolo grinned. He also recognized the technique that Zane used and had shut his eyes just in time.

"I know, but I am surprised that Gohan felt for the tactic. His form is sloppy too. Like he hasn't had any training for months."

Vegeta nodded. "Yes, I noticed that too. The boy has been getting soft these last few years. I hope he learns from this fight and keeps up his training."

"OVER MY DEATH BODY," screamed Chichi while she was shielding her eyes from the harsh sunlight.

"My Gohan needs to study to become a great member of society. I won't let my Gohan become a delinquent like the rest of you."

Everybody sweatdropped at Chichi's words. Delinquent, thought everybody.

Vegeta smirked. "I'm afraid that isn't possible anymore. Now that Gohan has found someone his age that can keep up with him in a fight. His Saiyan blood won't let him accept defeat."

Chichi frowned at Vegeta's words. "What do you mean?"

A scream of Gohan made the onlookers look up. They still couldn't see clearly, though.

"Hey, old man," said Bulma towards Roshi. "What's happening."

Roshi frowned at Bulma's words but let it slide.

"Zane made use of the solar flare technique. He completely blindsided Gohan and is attacking him with some furious blows."

Roshi saw (but with difficulty since the young Earthling was moving at such amazing speeds) how Zane kept up his fierce combos. A strike to the head, a strike to the stomach, and the legs. Each attack was well coordinated and struck with amazing force. The young Saiyan's body was getting bruised with injuries all over his body. Zane grinned. He gave the young Gohan a devastating roundhouse kick that made the young warrior fly with devastating speeds towards the ground. A huge crater appeared when Gohan's body crashed into the Earth. But Zane wasn't done yet. The young Earthling gathered all his strength and fired a dozen of red energy blasts towards the defenseless half Saiyan.

"PHOENIX MISSILE," screamed Zane.

Gohan, who had regained his vision, tried to defend himself against the onslaught of attacks. The boy gritted his teeth in pain when the hot blasts struck his wounded body. All the Z warriors who now had regained their vision looked at the attack in awe.

"GOHAN," screamed Chichi, worried. "Why that little delinquent, how dare he hurt my baby boy."

Bulma sighed at Chichi's overprotectiveness. "Cmon, Chichi. If Gohan was doing the same thing to Zane, you would just nod."

Chichi sighed. "Well, maybe you are right. But still, Can't a mother be worried about his son's health."

Bulma frowned. "You can. But calling Zane a delinquent is a bit much."

"That is some attack, though," said Krillin.

Piccolo smirked. "Yes, it's one of three original attacks he created."

Vegeta smirked. "Impressive."

Eighteen nodded. "Zane is certainly talented."

When Zane finished shooting his blasts, and the smoke cleared. They saw an unmoving Gohan. But before Chichi could run towards her son, they saw movement. With effort, the young stood up. He was breathing harshly. He had different scorched marks all on his body. Zane floated down and landed a few meters away from Gohan. The young Earthling was out of breath. He never used one of his signature attacks in a fight before. And he put a lot of his energy into his attack.

Zane grinned. "Well, how did you like that? Was that amazing or what."

Gohan nodded. "That was something else, alright. I never expected you had the solar flare in your arsenal. It completely caught me off guard."

Zane rubbed his head in embarrassment. "Well, I learned it by watching Krillin using it when he saved my sister and me from Cell. It was difficult to learn in the beginning since I only saw him use it once. So I had some errors along the way."

"You learned that from just seeing him use it once," said Gohan in disbelief.

"Man," said the Saiyan with a chuckle. "You must be some kind of fighting genius like my dad."

Zane blushed when he heard Gohan's compliment.

"Do you really think so? I mean, comparing me to someone of Goku's level is a bit much. I think I still have much to learn before I can compare myself to him."

All the fighters smiled at the boy's words. Even Vegeta. Although he smirked.

"For someone who has that much skill and is still modest about it is certainly rare," said Krillin.

Tien nodded. "Yes, that's true."

"Yamcha, you can learn something from this boy," said Master Roshi with a stern tone.

Yamcha sighed at Master's words. "Yeah, I know."

Gohan grinned. "Your attack sure drained a lot of my energy. I'm pooped."

Gohan let his Super Saiyan transformation fade. He couldn't transform into his Ssj 2 form. He didn't use that form since his fight with Cell. He was way out of practice.

"Yeah, using that much energy made me tired too," said Zane with a grin.

The young boy's bloodline faded also. Zane thought he had mastered his bloodline first form. But it seemed he still needed to train it. Using it in long fights was still exhausting. He still had a lot to learn about his bloodline.

Dende walked towards the young warriors. "Let me fix you two up," the Guardian said with a smile.

Gohan and Zane nodded. After a Dende was finished, the two boys let grinned.

"Thank's Dende," they both said.

"That some fight you two boys had," said master Roshi with a smile. "I'm pleased to see that the young generation keeps improving."

Piccolo and Vegeta walked toward the two young boys.

"Not bad," said Piccolo. "But Gohan, it seems you have been slacking in your training. Your form isn't what it's used to be."

Gohan sighed. "Yeah, I know. With all of my studies and helping mom out in the house, I just don't have time to train like I used to."

Vegeta frowned. "Brat, that is no excuse. Remember, you are a member of the proud Saiyan race. Even in times of peace, a warrior should always be prepared and keep up his training."

"NOW, HOLD ON! MY LITTLE GOHAN WON'T BE SOME KIND OF DELINQUENT LIKE THE REST OF YOU," screamed Chichi, angry.

The woman stood protectively in front of her son. "He will be a scholar and a great member of society. So he can get a good job and support his family."

Vegeta snorted. "Oh please, he is a Saiyan woman. Don't expect him to become some kind family man in the future."

Vegeta smirked. "Besides, didn't I tell you earlier. Now that the boy found someone his age that can challenge him, his Saiyan blood will rise to the challenge."

All the onlookers looked afraid at the conversation going on between the two.

"Oh crap, is Vegeta nuts," said Krillin, afraid.

Tien nervously nodded. Chichi was someone the bald martial artist didn't want to get angry. Goku's wife certainly had a warrior's spirit, especially when it came to Gohan and his studies. But before Chichi could retaliate against the prince, Zane spoke up.

"Huh, I don't really get it. I mean, instead of arguing about it, isn't Gohan the one who has to decide for himself what he wants to do."

All the others looked at Zane in shock. Gohan smiled gratefully at his new friend.

Zane grinned at Gohan. "My sister told me to always follow my heart and my dreams. So Gohan, what is your dream?"

"I-I wanna do both. I want to be a great scholar, but I also want to be a warrior. This fight we had," said Gohan with a grin. "It was the most fun I had had in years. No fighting to the death, no fight's to have the world at stake. Just an amazing fight between two skilled warriors. To test ourselves."

"I know, right. Isn't that the most exciting thing in a battle? To test your own strength and limits. It doesn't get any better than that," said the Earthling with a goofy grin.

Bulma smiled at those words. Zane reminded her so much of Goku when he was a boy.

Piccolo was proud of his two students.

Chichi sighed. "Gohan, are you sure that is what you want."

Gohan nodded. "Yeah, mom. I know it isn't entirely what you want. But this feeling I had while fighting Zane. It was the most fun I had in a long time."

Chichi smiled at her baby boy. "I see. Well, I guess there's no helping it. You are Goku's son, after all. Just promise me you don't neglect your studies too much. I don't want my son to become some kind of neanderthal," said Chichi with a smile.

Gohan chuckled. "No worries about that, mom. I may have inherited dad's strength. But I got my brains from you," said Gohan with a grin.

Chichi smiled lovingly at her son.

Zane had a sad smile on his face. Gohan was lucky to have such a loving mother. He wondered what his mother would be like if she was still alive. Zane sighed. There was no use thinking about it. You can't change the past.

"Okay, everyone," said Bulma with a smile. "I think we had enough excitement for one day. How about we get back inside and resume the party."

Everyone agreed with the capsule heiress.

"Oh, and Chichi, could you look after Trunks for a bit?"

"Sure, that's no problem. But where are you going?"

Al the Z fighters looked at the scientist.

"Oh, I'm going to my lab. There is something I have been working on. A little side project, you might say. Don't worry, It won't take long," said Bulma with a grin.

Zane was a bit relieved. Not that he hated Bulma. But after what she did earlier to him, he was a bit uncomfortable to be around her. Though he had to admit, it did felt good.

A few hours had passed. It was now almost 4 Pm. Everyone was still having a good time. Especially Zane and Gohan. The two became good friends with each other instantly. Bulma arrived back at the party. Wearing her lab coat that was covered in grease and oil. Her hair was a total mess.

"Bulma dear," said Chichi with a worried look. "You look like you came straight out of a garbage container. Not to mention you look tired."

Bulma chuckled. "Yeah, I thought finishing my project was maybe only an hour of work. But it was a bit more challenging. It had a lot of problems that needed to be fixed."

"So," said Krillin nervously. "What did you make?"

The bald monk was still a bit scared of the blue scientist. Their conversation from earlier was still fresh in his mind. But surprisingly enough, Bulma reacted friendly.

"No telling, Krillin. It's a secret," she said with a goofy grin.

Zane, who was sitting a few seats away, blushed at the face Bulma made.

Dammit, thought Zane. I really need to get these thoughts out of my head.

"My, it looks like I came at the wrong time," said a familiar voice. "Should I leave you be?"

"Kurozesh," said Zane with a smile when the purple lightning spirit appeared before him in his mind. "No, it's okay. It's not that of a big deal."

Kurozesh nodded.

"So, why the reason for your visit?"

"You are ready, Zane." The spirit grinned. "It's time for you to begin your journey to the spirit world."

Zane had an excited look on his face. "Do you really think I'm ready? I mean, it has been only two months since we last spoke."

Kurozesh grinned. "Yes, that's true. However, the harsh training you did made your body more than ready enough to enter the spirit world."

"Great," said Zane with a smile. "So, how do I enter the spirit world?"

The Dragon chuckled. "Ah, a good question. The only way to enter the spirit world is at a specific time and place. And you have to have a spirit guiding you. Otherwise, you may end up lost between dimensions."

"Oh," said Zane curiously. "And what are conditions then?"

"It has to be at night when the moon is full. But, not only that. You also have to enter where there is a great activity of spirit energy."

Zane sighed. "That's great and all. But finding a place where spirit energy is active might be a problem. As you said to me before, most all of the spirits have left the Earth. I don't think there are places that have that much spirit energy left."

Kurozesh smirked. "Use your head, boy. Yes, you may be right about there not being many places left that have energy. But," said Kurozesh with a grin. "You forgot there are still spirits left in this world. Spirits who possess an amazing amount of energy."

"Ah, of course. The four other S rank spirits. Heh," said Zane with a goofy grin. "I almost forgot about them. What were their names again?"

Kurozesh sighed. "Their names are Zukechi, Nekotaima, Suikojin, and Chikoto."

"Right," said Zane with a grin. "Now I remember. So, do you think it's possible to enter the spirit world with their help?"

"It's not that you need their help, kid," said Kurozesh with a grin. "Remember that you only need to find a place with a huge amount of spirit energy? You can leave the rest to me." The dragon spirit snorted. "Besides, you don't have to visit those places anyway. On Mount Rumble, there is enough spirit energy from yours truly."

Kurozesh had a proud look on his face.

Zane sweatdropped at the lightning spirits ego. "Maybe, but I still want to visit them. I did say I wanted to earn their blessing."

Kurozesh grinned. "That you did. Very well. The next full moon is in two months. You have time until then."

Zane nodded. "Sounds like a plan. So, which spirit should I visit first?"

"I suggest you find Suikojin first since he is rather hard to track down. After that, Nekotaima and Zukechi in that order. I prefer you visit Chikoto as last. Since I don't look forward to seeing him again."

"You really don't like Chikoto, don't you," said Zane with a chuckle.

"Of course, I don't," said Kurozesh with a frown. "Stupid lying cheating snake."

"Well, thanks for the info. So, where does Suikojin live? Seeing he is a water spirit, and he is hard to track down, I assume he lives somewhere in the Ocean."

"You would think that, won't you," said Kurozesh with a grin.

"So, he doesn't live in the Ocean?"

"No, Suikojin lives in a huge lake that moves from place to place."

"A moving lake," said Zane, amazed. "What's it called?"

"The Roaming lake."

"So, how am I supposed to find this Roaming lake? I mean, If it moves all the time, it won't be easy to track it down."

"Maybe so, but there is a simple solution to that."

"Oh, really? and that is?"

"There is a place that the Roaming lake always passes by. A desert."

"A desert," said Zane, confused. "Why would a lake travel through a desert?"

"Suikojin always was a kind spirit. A village in that area has troubles with its water supply around this time of year. Suikojin always makes it his duty to travel through that desert so that the villagers there won't have any water shortage."

Zane smiled. "Wow, that's certainly nice of him. So, where do the other three spirits live?"

"Nekotaima lives on the other side of the Earth. A place called Yunzabit heights."

Zane nodded. "I heard about that place. It's supposed to be a desolate mountain area with fearsome winds."

"Indeed," said Kurozesh. "Next is Zukechi. He lives in a Volcano on an Island located in the southern Sea."

"An Island in the southern Sea, huh," said Zane in deep thought. "If I remember my geography lesson's that my sis drilled into me, that island is called Bunbuku Island."

"Correct," said Kurozesh with a grin. "Now, as for that bastard Chikoto. He lives in an underground cave in Skull Valley. A desolated area outside Mount Paozu."

"Right," said Zane, "with a nod. I know where that is located. Thanks for all the information, Kurozesh."

Zane faded out of his mind.

"You are welcome young Zane," said the Dragon with a smile.

When Zane opened his eyes, he saw Gohan in front of him waving his hand.

"Oh, Zane. You are finally awake. It looked like you were in deep thought."

Zane chuckled. "Something like that. Kurozesh contacted me." the young boy stood up from his seat.

Piccolo sighed. "I see. So does that mean you'll be leaving?"

Zane nodded. "Yeah, It's time to continue my journey."

He bowed towards Piccolo. "Thank you so much for all you have taught me, Piccolo. I plan to use all I have learned from you to good use."

Piccolo smirked. "I know you will, kid."

Gohan stood up from his seat. He was saddened that his new friend would leave so soon.

"When do you plan on visiting again?"

Zane grinned. "When I'm finished with my training."

The Earthling held out his hand. "Next time we meet, I will be much stronger. I hope for another chance to fight you, Gohan. Because next time, It won't be a draw," said Zane with a challenging grin.

Gohan smiled. He took his new friend's hand. "Sure, but I don't plan on losing," said Gohan with determination.

All the other Z-fighters said their goodbyes to Zane. But Bulma asked Zane to come to her lab since she wanted to give him the gravity belt as an apology for her behavior. Zane was excited when he got his gift. He put the Belt in an empty capsule and put it away.

"Thanks, Miss. Bulma."

"Please don't call me Miss," said Bulma with a chuckle. "It reminds me of my mother."

Zane nervously rubbed his head. "Oh, sorry about that."

Bulma smiled. "No problem, Zane."

"But do I really get to keep this gravity belt? and what about that Gravity machine?"

"Nah, keep it, kid. The gravity machine in that spaceship is outdated anyway. Besides, you did win your prize earlier. And since you couldn't think of anything, you can have that spaceship with the gravity machine. As for the Belt, think of it as an apology for my misbehavior earlier today. It was wrong of me to do those things. I hope you can forgive me. I-I have been under a lot of stress lately. You know, sexually," said Bulma with an apologetic look.

Zane scratched his head nervously. "I-I forgive you, Bulma. Besides," said Zane with a blush. "I didn't mind it that much. It did feel good."

Bulma chuckled. "Well, I can tell you one thing." Bulma gave a light kiss on his cheek.

"With what I felt earlier, you're gonna make one girl very happy in the future," she said with a grin.

Zane's head turned completely red. Steam was coming from his ears. He nodded nervously and ran outside.

Bulma chuckled. "Whoops, I may have gone a bit too far."

She slowly walked in the direction that Zane went.

She saw the young boy saying his goodbyes to Krillin, Tien, and Yamcha when she was outside. Gohan was also standing there.

"Well, kiddo, I hope you're going to be okay on your own. Remember, if there's anything you need, you're always welcome in our home," said Krillin with a smile.

"Thank's, Krillin. So, do you guy's know where you're going to wish you're new house."

"Not yet. But so long it's far enough of that old pervert Roshi, I'm fine with any place," said the blond android.

Zane nodded in agreement. "Old perverts are the worst."

Android 18 ruffled Zane's hair. "You're an okay kid. Keep that attitude up in life, and you're going to be fine," said Eighteen with a grin.

Zane grinned. "Thanks, I will."

After Yamcha and Tien said their goodbyes, Piccolo walked towards Zane. "Here, kid, some new weights."

He gave the young boy a capsule.

"Thanks, Piccolo. How much is it?"

Piccolo smirked. "In total, It's about double your current weights."

Everybody gasped in shock. Even Vegeta was surprised.

"E-eighty t-tons," stuttered Yamcha.

"Wow," said Gohan, amazed. "That's heavy training material."

"Don't you think that's a bit too much, Piccolo," said Dende worried.

Bulma nodded in agreement. "Yeah, I mean, that's a crazy amount of mass."

Piccolo smirked. "What do you think, Zane."

The boy grinned. "Nah, thanks, Piccolo. This is just what I needed. I can't wait to start my training," the boy said with an excited voice.

Is this kid nuts, thought Yamcha.

Vegeta nodded in approval. "Brat, you're alright in my eyes. If you ever want to increase your training to newer heights. Vegeta Sama is always ready to give you a lesson," said the prince with a smirk.

Zane grinned. "Thanks, Vegeta san. Oh, Gohan, I almost forgot." He gave the half Saiyan a serious look.

"What's wrong," asked Gohan. The young Saiyan was caught off guard by the look his friend was giving him.

"I want to let you know. After all, this is over. I plan to put that idiot, Mr. Satan, in his place."

All the Z-fighers looked surprised at Zane's words. Vegeta smirked. He began to like that kid even more.

"Uh, why," said Gohan.

Zane was shocked by Gohan's words. "WHY!" screamed Zane. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN WHY!"

The outburst of Zane gave everyone a shock. Gone was the happy look on the boy's face. Instead, the boy's eyes held deep hatred.

"THAT BUFFOON NOT ONLY TOOK YOUR CREDIT OF BEATING CELL, BUT HE ALSO HAS THE NERVE TO CALL GUYS TRICKSTERS."

Zane's eyes became even more furious.

"BUT THE LAST THING HE DID THAT REALLY MADE ME FURIOUS WERE HIS INSULTS AGAINST GOKU! DISRESPECTING HIS ACTIONS, CALLING HIM NAMES. THAT BASTARD MADE ALMOST THE WHOLE WORLD BELIEVE THAT KI USERS ARE NOTHING BUT A JOKE. AFTER ALL THAT YOU AND YOU'RE FATHER DID FOR THIS WORLD. AND YOU ASK ME WHY!"

Zane breathed harshly. While the young boy was spending his time on the lookout all that time. He tried to forget his hatred for Mr. Satan, as Master Korin said. Oh, he tried alright. But he couldn't. He just couldn't forgive that man and the actions he did.

Gohan sighed. "I know, Zane. Mr. Satan isn't my favorite person either."

Gohan clenched his fists. "And you are right. I should be angry." Gohan gritted his teeth. "But, you know what?"

"What," said Zane, confused.

"I don't care," said Gohan with a smile. "Mr. Satan is nothing but a liar that will someday get what's coming to him. He is not worth the effort."

"B-but h-he insulted your dad? Aren't you upset? Or angry? Not even a little bit," asked Zane, confused.

"Sure, I am upset by it. I don't like Mr. Satan. But getting angry over something stupid like that is just not worth it. Besides, we all like our privacy. If people really knew I was the one who defeated Cell, the media would be all over our front yard in an instant. And our quiet lives would be ruined. Besides," said Gohan with a smile. "Not everyone believes Mr. Satan lies. There are people in the world who believe my dad."

Chichi chuckled. "Yes, like that cute girlfriend of yours and her grandfather."

Gohan turned completely red at his mother's words. "For the last time, mom, Lime is not my girlfriend."

Everybody chuckled at Gohan's red face.

Zane sighed. "I don't think I can do that, Gohan. I can't forgive Mr. Satan's actions and all that he has done." Zane clenched his fists. "I just can't."

The half Saiyan patted his friend on his shoulder. "That's alright. I can't force you to do it. Just promise me you think about it. And if after all that you still can't forgive him, that's your choice. Just promise you won't kill him, okay?"

Zane snorted. "What do you think I am? I would never kill a person over something like that."

Everybody sighed in relief.

"But, just because I won't kill him, that doesn't mean I forgive him. I was planning to reveal his cheating nature to the public and tell who the real saviors were."

"You what," said Gohan with wide eyes.

Zane sighed. "But since you don't want your identity to get public knowledge, I guess that's out of the window."

Everybody sighed in relief.

"Thanks," said Gohan. "I really appreciate it."

Zane smirked. "Yeah, whatever. I guess I just have to humiliate and expose him as a fraud when I have the chance."

Everybody chuckled.

"Well, It's time for me to go, Gohan." Zane began to turn around. "FLYING NIMBUS," Zane yelled.

"Nimbus," said everyone shocked. (Except for those who knew Zane had a Nimbus cloud.)

The yellow fluffy cloud stopped right in front of his Master.

"Hey, buddy. Ready for our trip?"

The cloud happily rubbed his fluffy body against his new friend.

Zane laughed happily. "Hey, stop nimbus that tickles."

"Wow, you have a nimbus cloud too," asked Gohan with a smile.

"Yeah, it was a gift from Master Korin." Zane Hopped on his new friend and sat down.

Bulma, Yamcha, Krillin, Tien, and Master Roshi were shocked. Again, they saw the image. But this time, a small little Goku was happily grinning at them.

"See ya later, everyone," said Zane with a grin and a wave. "Let's go, Nimbus."

The cloud obeyed his friend and took off with great speed towards their first destination. Everybody waved goodbye towards the little boy that had somehow buried his way into their hearts. They all looked forward to the day that Zane would arrive back to them, safe and well.

A man in his mid-thirties was looking at the crops of withered salad, carrots, and tomatoes with a sad look. This young man was known as Nam. A warrior of amazing skill. He entered the World martial arts tournament a long time ago when he was a much younger man. Although he was defeated by his good friend Goku, he was still an extraordinary martial artist.

Nam sighed. "It looks like it's that time of year again."

An older man walked with great difficulty towards the young warrior. "I hope the roaming lake will bless us with his presence this year. Otherwise, we are doomed."

The man suddenly began to cough hard.

"Father please," said Nam. He gave the man his arm for support. "You know you are sick. You need to rest."

"I fine Nam," said the elder with a smile. "You don't have to worry so much about me."

They suddenly heard a familiar noise.

"That sound," said Nam. "I think I heard that somewhere before. But from where?"

"Big brother, look up there." A young teen pointed towards the sky.

Nam looked in the direction where his younger brother was pointing. He saw a yellow-looking cloud.

Nam's face had a big smile on his face. "Could it be? My good old friend Goku?"

But when the cloud landed, instead of Goku, The martial artist saw a young boy jumping from the cloud.

"Excuse me for dropping in unannounced. My name is Zane." The young boy bowed in greeting.

Nam and the other villagers followed suit. "Greetings, young friend, my name is Nam. And this is my father Tallin and my brother Konan."

The elder and the young teen smiled at the young boy.

"So, what brings you here, young man?"

Zane grinned. "I'm actually looking for the Roaming lake."

All the villagers looked surprised at Zane's answer.

"The roaming lake," said Nam. "Why, are you also in need of water?"

Zane shook his head. "No, I'm not. You see, I'm on a journey to find four spirits and earn their blessing. And the roaming lake is said to be the home of the water spirit Suikojin".

All the villagers were shocked.

Nam's mouth was open from astonishment. "I-I can't believe it. A spirit lives in the Roaming lake. Are you certain of this?"

Zane nodded. "Yeah, I'm sure. You see, I befriended a lightning spirit a while ago. He said Suikojin comes here to bless this village during this time of year."

The elder suddenly began to pray. "Oh, my stars. I almost can't believe this. To think it was a spirit that came to our aid all this time."

Nam began to pray as well. "Yes, this is a most joyous occasion. We must reward this spirit when we find the roaming lake."

"Huh, so you guy's didn't see the lake yet?"

"No, I'm afraid not. The roaming lake appears only at night, a few miles west of here. But now that we know a spirit is behind this, we must make preparations."

"Preparations," asked Zane, confused. "What for?"

"Why to give an offering, of course. We never knew that the lake held a spirit inside of it."

Tallin nodded. "Yes, we always thought it was just an ordinary lake."

Nam smiled. "This spirit helps us each year so that we don't get any shortage of water. But we never thanked this spirit even once since we didn't know it existed in the first place. What better to say thank you by giving it an offering."

Zane smiled. "Yeah, your right. It certainly does make sense. But what are you going to offer to Suikojin?"

Nam thought for a bit. "Mmm, that I don't know yet."

"Maybe some food," said Konan with a grin. "Like fish."

Tallin chuckled at his youngest suggestion.

Zane suddenly had an idea. "Oh, I know. I can ask my friend Kurozesh the lightning spirit."

Nam was gobsmacked. "You can communicate with this lightning spirit?"

"Yeah, that's no problem. Just wait a bit." Zane sat down. He closed his eyes and began to meditate. After a while, the boy opened his eyes.

"And," asked Nam curiously. "Did you find something out from this lightning spirit?"

"Yeah," said Zane with a chuckle. "Kurozesh said that the one thing Suikojin likes the most is fresh salmon. So, Konan was right."

The teen grinned.

Tallin sighed. "Easier said than done. The river has been dried up. It won't be possible to find salmon in this area."

Nam frowned. "Yes, that might cause a problem."

Zane chuckled. "Nah, I can easily ride on my Nimbus cloud to find some Salmon for you. And I have some empty capsules you can have. So, no biggie."

Tallin began to smile. "Such a kind-hearted boy you are."

"Are you sure you want to do that? Empty capsules are pretty expensive," said Nam.

Zane chuckled. "Yeah, no worries. I have enough empty capsules on me."

The young boy had found enough treasure during his journey to keep him set for life. Giving out a few capsules won't make a dent in his bank account.

Nam nodded his head. "Well, if you are certain. We happily accept your offer. By the way, sorry for asking, but I'm a bit curious." "

Yes," said Zane confused.

"Do you perhaps know A man by the name Goku? Since you also have a flying cloud as he has."

Zane chuckled. "Well, I do know of Goku. He was the runner-up in the 21st and 22nd martial arts tournaments. And then became the winner of the 23rd. As for my Nimbus cloud, it was actually a gift from Master Korin. A martial arts master who also trained Goku when he was a kid. He gave me nimbus about two years ago."

"I see," said Nam with a smile.

Suddenly, the boy recognized the man before him.

"Ah, wait a minute. I recognize you now. You fought Goku in the second round of the 21st martial arts tournament, didn't you?"

Nam chuckled. "Yes, I certainly did. Goku is an amazing warrior with great skill. I was fortunate enough to face him that day. I certainly hope to face him again in the future."

Zane had a sad smile on his face. "I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But that isn't possible anymore."

Nam, Tallin, and Konan looked confused at the young boy. Even the villagers were surprised at the sad tone the boy spoke with.

"What do you mean," asked Konan?

Zane sighed. "I guess you all know about the Cell Games?"

Nam and villagers frowned. "Yes, we are aware of the Cell games. However, we only have one tv, and the reception wasn't that great either. It broke down when that monster Cell fought Goku."

Konan gritted his teeth. "And that hairy ape of a man Mr. Satan that dares to speak badly about Goku and his friends."

Tallin chuckled at his youngest words.

"Yes," said Nam with a frown. "That's also something we heard."

Zane clenched his fists in anger. But he tried to calm down.

"Well," said Zane. "You guys know about the so-called victory that oaf Mr. Satan had against Cell. But unfortunately, that's not everything".

Zane began to tell Nam and the villagers all about the truth of the Cell games. Who really defeated Cell. And the sad news about Gok's death.

Nam bowed his head in sadness. "I see, so Goku sacrificed his life to save the whole Earth from Cell's explosion."

The villagers also had sad looks on their faces.

"And it was really Goku's son that defeated that monster Cell," said Tallin. "Not that goofy man Mister Satan. Although we already had our doubts about that subject."

Konan gritted his teeth. "That man is a big liar. Calling himself the Savior of humanity. While it was, in fact, Goku and his son that saved the world."

"Calm yourself, Konan," said Nam. "If that man called Mr. Satan keeps up with his insults against Goku, then he will get what's coming to him."

"Really," asked Zane. "What do you mean?"

"In four years, they will hold the 25th martial arts tournament. I plan to enter if that buffoon of a man keeps up with his usual antics," Nam said with a grin.

"Really," said Zane with a smirk. "That's good to know. "It sounds like an excellent opportunity to enter that tournament and let the world see what a man their champion really is."

They all chuckled.

"Hey Zane, I'll be entering too," said Konan with a grin. "So you might not get your chance."

Zane shrugged his shoulders. "So long that moron gets what's coming to him. I don't care who does it."

Tallin chuckled. "Say, it's getting late. And the roaming lake isn't supposed to appear until tomorrow night. So, how about you stay for dinner and spend the night with us. It can get quite cold at night."

Zane bowed in gratitude. "Thanks, mister Tallin. I appreciate your offer."

Zane had forgotten that he had left his capsule house at Master Korin. Before he enters the spirit world, he would best swing by Korrin's tower first. Not that he needed his capsule house, of course. That was a gift he gave to Master Korin. But he did leave his capsule with all his treasure in it. It was well hidden, but Zane wanted to be sure nothing happened to it. After a good meal and a night of rest, Zane flew on his flying nimbus towards the closest area where he could catch some fresh salmon. And an hour later, he arrived back in the village with a big haul.

"Do you think this is enough," asked Zane with a grin.

Nam and the villagers smiled when they saw the huge amount of fresh salmon.

"Yes, that will do nicely. Thank you, Zane."

Konan grinned. "Yeah, we have more than enough to not only offer to Suikojin. But also to last us a few weeks."

Tallin smiled. "Yes, today is a glorious day. We can't thank you enough for all your help Zane."

The boy chuckled. "Hey, I should be thanking you. You gave me that nice meal yesterday and a nice futon to sleep in. It's the least I could do."

Nam had a warm smile on his face. Zane really reminded him of Goku when he was that age. Carefree, kind, and what by what he saw yesterday strong. They had a little spar after dinner. He was amazed at the boy's strength. He was even stronger than Goku was when he fought him so many years ago. Though Nam did have a feeling that Zane was holding back a great deal of his power. How much? That he didn't know. After getting everything ready, Zane, the villagers, and Nam began their journey towards the area where the roaming lake is said to appear. Zane, being the kind boy that he is. Offered Tallin a ride on his Nimbus cloud.

The elder was shouting in joy. "Oh, my, I haven't had this much fun since I was a small boy. Do you think your nimbus can go even faster?"

Zane nodded. "Sure. Faster nimbus. Let Tallin see how fast you can go."

The cloud obeyed his master's words and began to speed up. Tallin began to scream in joy. Konan, who was riding on horses with Nam and the rest of the villagers sighed. "Oh man, I really wanna try riding on that cloud. Sounds like so much fun."

Lexia, the horse that the teen was riding, took that as an insult. She threw the young teen from her back.

"Auw, what the hell Lexia. Why did you do that?"

The horse snorted. Nam chuckled. "It's your own fault little brother. You know very well that Lexia is sensitive about those things."

"What things?"

"You hurt her feelings, Konan. Telling that you rather ride a cloud than her." "Oh, sorry about that, Lexia. I didn't mean to hurt your feelings girl."

The horse forgave her rider, and let him climb back on her back to continue their journey. After a while, they finally arrived at their destination.

"Wow, so this is the roaming lake," said Zane.

Tallin smiled. "Yes, it certainly is a beautiful sight, isn't it?"

"Yeah, It's a lot bigger than I thought it would be."

Nam took all the capsules with the fresh salmon and threw them in front of the lake. After the smoke cleared, they saw all the Salmon that Zane caught this morning. Nam, Tallin, Konan, and the villagers began to pray. Zane followed suit.

"Oh, holy spirit Suikojin who lives in this lake. We are all so thankful for all the years you provided us with water. It isn't much, but we hope you will like this offering this young boy has collected specially for you."

After a while, nothing happened.

"Huh, are you sure a spirit lives in this lake, Zane," asked Konan.

Zane nodded. "Oh yeah, I'm sure. Kurozesh did say that Sukojin sleeps a lot."

"Well, that's a problem," said Nam. "How are we supposed to give our offering if this spirit is sleeping?"

Zane grinned. "Oh, don't you worry. I had a backup plan in my arsenal if Sukojin would be asleep."

"Oh, and what's that," said Tallin curiously.

"You all better stand back a bit. I'm going to release my spirit bloodline."

Everyone didn't know what Zane meant by that. But they all followed the boy's advice.

"What's he planning to do," ask Konan curiously? "And what is a spirit bloodline?"

"I guess we will find out," said Nam.

Zane smirked. "Ready to wake up Suikojin partner."

Kurozesh grinned. "Let him have it, kid."

Zane clenched his fist and began to power up. "AAAAH!"

Nam and everyone else guarded themselves against the fierce winds that struck their eyes.

"What the hell," said Konan.

"By the goddess," said Tallin. What is happening?

Nam was shocked. He never expected Zane to have that much power inside of him. Nam learned to sense ki after his fight with that three-eyed warrior that almost crippled him. It took him a while though. And yes, he did get a lot stronger.( Nam hasn't show his real power yet. I'm not gonna say more, lol.) But what he felt coming from, Zane, was beyond what he thought possible.

"Incredible, I never thought such power existed."

Around the world, the Z-fighters suddenly felt Zane's power increase.

"What's wrong Gohan," asked Chichi.

"It's Zane. He is powering up. But it doesn't make any sense. I don't feel anyone strong close to him."

Even at Capsule Corp, a certain prince was wondering why Zane was building up his power.

"What is that brat doing," said Vegeta confused?

Bulma looked confused at her husband who was for one time, not training.

"Who are you talking about, Vegeta?"

"Zane," said the prince. He is powering up but there's nobody close to him that can challenge him.

Bulma looked at the sky a bit worried.

"Be careful, Zane."

But, there were three other individuals who sensed Zane's power.

"Shula, who could that be," said Golo curious.

"Mmm, I don't know. Whoever it is, he/she is powerful."

"Do you think it's Goku," said Melee.

"No, it's not, Goku. His power was a lot stronger. But I must say, this comes as a surprise to me. I never thought there were other strong warriors like Goku in the human world. Besides those other humans that were at the Cell Games."

Melee smirked. "So, are we going to investigate this source?"

Golo grinned. "Yeah, that sounds like fun."

Shula chuckled. "Eventually. For now, let's continue our training. I have a feeling we will meet with this person someday."

The others shrugged their shoulders.

Shula looked at the sight before him. "This place certainly has harsh conditions, a perfect training environment."

"Yeah, what did humans call this place again," said Golo while scratching his head.

Melee sighed at her forgetful comrade. "Really Golo? How can you forget it already?"

Shula looked at his comrade with a smirk. "It is called Yunzabit heights. Please try to remember it this time, Golo."

The grey demon nodded. "Yep, I will."

Melee began to look at the sky. "I can't wait to test my strength against either Goku or this mystery person we just sensed."

The pink-haired demon grinned. She was getting all fired up.

A huge being opened his by the familiar energy he sensed.

"This power. Could it be, Kurozesh?"

This was the water spirit Suikojin. Silver scales covered his entire being.

The spirit's sky blue eyes narrowed in thought.

"Mmm, strange. The energy I feel belongs to Kurozesh, of that I have no doubt. But, sense something else. A different energy mixed with Kurozech's strength. Could it be? Did Kurozesh find a host to wield his powers?"

The spirit chuckled. "Well, now. What a pleasant surprise. I guess I should meet this young warrior."

With amazing speed, Suikojin swim to the surface of the roaming lake.

Everyone was mesmerized by Zane's form. An aura of purple energy surrounded the young boy. Purple static electricity flashed around the young boy's form.

"Heavens," said Tallin. "It's like Zane turned into some kind of deity."

"Wow, he looks so badass." Konan had an awed look on his face.

But Nam was even more shocked by the energy he felt coming from, Zane. The power he felt was beyond his wildest dreams. Nam clenched his fist in his excitement. Nam had decided. He may be in his thirties, but that didn't mean anything to the warrior. He was planning to further his training and get even stronger.

Everyone was suddenly surprised by the huge figure that shot out the surface of the lake.

Zane grinned at the being in front of him. Kurozesh was right. It worked.

"By the goddess. The water spirit Suikojin," said Tallin.

"Huh", said Konan. "It's a whale."

Nam bonked his little brother's head. "Konan. Stop being so disrespectful towards this holy spirit."

They suddenly heard the being in front of them chuckle. "It's quite alright. I'm sure the boy didn't mean anything bad by it."

Tallin and the rest of the villagers began to bow.

"Oh, holy spirit. We are so grateful for all years you came to our aid. To make sure we have plenty of water."

"Yes," said Nam. "We never knew you existed. We probably never would if it wasn't for young, Zane here. Please forgive our ignorance."

The spirit's eyes held a soft gaze. "Now, now, please, raise your heads. There is nothing to forgive. I did this all by my own free will."

All the villagers began to raise their heads one by one.

"But still," said Nam. "We do owe you our gratitude. Please accept this offering that this young boy has gathered for you."

Suikojin marveled at the feast in front of him. An amazing amount of fresh salmon.

The whale spirit's eyes turned toward Zane. This boy was certainly Kurozech's vessel. That she could clearly see.

"Zane, was it? We're you the one who gathered all these salmon for me?"

The boy happily nodded. "I certainly did Mr. Suikojin."

The spirit chuckled. "My, aren't you a jolly boy. I must thank you for the trouble you went through to gather so much of my favorite food."

"It was no problem really," said Zane with a grin.

"Be that as it may. You did come here for something, didn't you? Otherwise, I don't think you would bother in waking me up in such a manner."

Suikojin grinned. "Vessel of kurozesh."

Zane chuckled. "Yeah, there is something." Zane began explaining why he made his journey to find him.

Suikojin grinned. "Ah, you seek the blessing of me and all of the other S class spirits. That's quite a job description. You won't have such an easy time convincing them. Chokoto especially since he can be quite stubborn."

"Maybe," said Zane with a determined look. "But that doesn't mean I will give up."

Suikojin smiled at the boy's determination. "Kurozesh certainly picked an interesting host. I'm a bit jealous he found you before I did. For your efforts and your kind spirit, I'll gladly give you my blessing."

Blue energy suddenly engulfed, Zane.

"Wow," said Zane in amazement. "I feel stronger than before."

Suikojin chuckled. "My blessing gives you a little boost in strength and amazing resistance against water and fire-based attacks. Your lung capacity has also increased. Which means you can stay much longer in the water."

Zane smiled. "Thanks, Mr. Suikojin."

"Your welcome young one. Now, if you don't mind I'm going to enjoy this feast that lies before me."

"Sure. Eat at your heart's content."

And so, Suikojin did just that. The whale spirit swallowed every salmon in one big gulp. And after saying his thanks and good luck to Zane. He vanished back to the depths of the lake.

They all returned back to the village. And after Zane had a good night sleep and said his goodbye to Nam, Tallin, Konan, and the rest of the villagers. He continued to his next destination. Yunzabit heights.

End chapter 4.

Well, this chapter is a bit longer than I hoped it would be. But I hope you still liked it regardless. I wanted Zane to meet the other four spirits in this chapter. But after thinking for a bit, I changed my mind. Next chapter Zane will travel to Yunzabit heights and afterward to Bunbuku Island. I'm not gonna spoil anything else. So until the next update. Stay safe.
