Sylvia had a hard time fitting in with the other Ishvalans, she didn't feel like she belonged there. The longer she stayed there, the longer she realized that she missed Roy. He took care of her when she was weak and unresponsive, he taught her about Amestris and their language. When she was child she wanted to learn about Amestris and their people but didn't want to disappoint her family, so when she got married she forgot about to all until she met Roy. It brought back her curiosity and sense of adventure, she had missed that very much. One day she was called to chiefs tent for something important and saw a tall, strong and handsome Ishvalan man sitting next to the chief. She sat across from them and asked in her native tongue. "ti eínai aftó archigó?" (What is it chief) "ákousa ti synévi ston sýzygó sou kai parakaló apodéxou ti syngnómi mou aderfí." (i heard what happened to your husband and please accept my apologies sister) "eínai entáxei archigós ítan edó kai kairó." (its alright chief it was along time ago) "Thélo na sou prosféro ton gio mou os aderfí syzýgou, sou zítise to chéri se gámo." (i wish to offer you my son as husband sister, he has asked your hand in marriage) Sylvia's eyes widened at that and looked down, she didn't want to hurt him by saying no but she didn't want to be in loveless marriage. She put her hand on her heart and looked at them saying. "Efcharistó gia tin prosforá Archigé, allá den boró na pantreftó énan ántra pou den agapó giatí agapó énan állon." (Thank you for the offer Chief but i cannot marry a man i dont love for i love another) The chief and the son looked surprised but the chief nodded and said. "katalavaíno aderfí an den tha eísai eftychisméni me ton ántra ankther tóte den tha se anankáso na pantrefteís kápoion pou den agapás." (i understand sister if you wont be happy with ankther man then i wont force you into marrying someone you dont love) Sylvia smiled and bowed saying. "Efcharistó archigé gia tin katanóisi." (Thank you chief for understanding.) When she got back up and looked at the son saying. "Lypámai pou den apodéchomai aftón ton gámo." (I an sorry for not accepting this marriage.) he stood up and started yelling. "den lypámai, se eída tin iméra pou írthes se emás. írthes me ti flóga, aftós pou skótose tous anthrópous mas. sou échei kánei plýsi enkefálou." (your not sorry, i saw you the day you came to us. you came with the flame, the one who murdered our people. he has brainwashed you.) Sylvia and the Chiefs eyes widened, how did he know this? The son grabbed her by the hair and dragged her out into the street, he threw her to the ground and said. "xéchase ti flóga pou agapás kai pantréfsou me, tóte tha meíneis, allá an den to káneis, tha dióxeis apó edó kai tha apokirýxeis tous anthrópous mas." (forget the flame whom you love and marry me then you will stay but if you dont you are banished from here and disowned from our people) Sylvia's eyes widened at that and panicked. These were her people, she couldn't just leave them but she couldn't forget about Roy. She loved him to much to forget him and didn't want to love another man. So she got on all for and buried her nose into the ground, saying. "Sas efcharistó gia ti filoxenía sas, allá den prépei na xecháso ton ánthropo pou agapó, lypámai anthrópous mou. den tha se xecháso." (thank you for your hospitality but i must not forget the man i love, i am sorry my people. i will not forget you) She got up and left leaving everyone shocked and surprised. As she walked out of the settlement the son started shouting at her and throwing rocks and some of them that hated the flame alchemist did so as well but the chief and some of them just watched her leave. As Sylvia walked in the forest, she clutching her heart and felt that it was in relief. She felt good telling the truth about who she loved and knew that she stayed true to the man she loved, she looked up at the night sky with a smile. She felt at peace with herself now and nothing was gonna change that.

Al and Winry stare at Sylvia in surprise as Ed's hand was still on her tummy, she smiled at Ed and said. "You are correct Edward, I am having Roy Mustangs baby." Ed's face saddened a bit and rubbed his thumb against her belly. "It must be rough, not having to see him allot and must be tiring to worry if he's alive or not with scar around and if they found out about you." Sylvia nodded and said. "I do worry about him and it does get lonely not to see him but he sends me letters telling me about what's been happening with his life. He sometimes writes them in Ishvalan too, he's learning just for me." Sylvia puts hand on her belly and rubs it lovingly saying. "I don't regret loving him, he's a man that wants nothing more but redemption and I happily give it to him." Ed looked at Sylvia and asked. "Why didn't you just tell us? We would've understood." Sylvia looked at Winry and said. "Because of her." Ed, Al and Winry looked shocked, Ed backed away from her and Winry asked. "Because of me? Why?!?" "Yeah why?!?" "Why because of winry miss Sylvia?"

Sylvia smiled sadly at them and said. "Because I did not want Winry to ask why I loved him or be angry, because of what he's done." Winry looked down sadly and said. "To my parents." "Yes." Winry had tears rise up in her eyes and refused to look at her. "Winry." She looked up and saw Sylvia in front of her looking at her sadly. "I know you blame Roy for killing your parents and that's understandable, I dealt with the same thing when I told him I loved him. He didn't want me to love him, he wanted me to hate him for what he's done because he feels like he deserves our hatred and blame, he thinks that he's not worthy of love or forgiveness. He thinks that his death would benefit the world, he believes that he's a monster that can't feel love or have a heart." Winry doesn't say anything as to not insult Sylvia because she was an Ishvalan that was with the Flame Alchemist and having his baby, the one who murdered her people and her parents. "But he is not the monster or heartless one from the war."

Winry looks up and sees Sylvia smiling at her sadly. "What do you mean?" "The difference between you and me Winry, is that you parents were killed by a man while mine were killed by a monster with an unquenchable thirst for blood." Ed, Al and Winry looked at her in shock, Sylvia brought Winry into a hug and said. "Ypárchoun dýo ántres ston pólemo, énas pou pnígetai stis enochés kai zitá synchóresi kai énas pou geláei kai chaíretai ekeínon pou skotónei. synchoríste ton ánthropo pou i kardiá tou eínai gemáti enochés allá misíste ton ánthropo pou i kardiá tou eínai gemáti me pótho gia aíma." Ed looks at her and asks. "What does that mean?" "My grandmother used to this to me before she died. 'there are two men in war, one who drowns in guilt and seeks forgiveness and one who laughs and take glee in the one who kills. forgive the man whose heart is filled with guilt but hate the man whos heart is filled with lust for blood.' My family were killed by a man who takes glee in their screams while yours were killed by a man who's drowning in guilt. The man who killed my family is a monster while yours were killed by a man." Winrys tears fell down her cheeks as Sylvia's arms tightened. "Winry, I know you wish to hate him but you can't because you know his hatred for himself is bigger then yours. You wished to find the person who killed your parents but now that you have you can't bring yourself to do it because you know he's blamed himself long before you found out."

More tears came out of Winry's eyes as she cried. "Roy was soldier following orders, in war it's kill or be killed out there and soldiers don't really have choice. They can kill those people or let someone else do it and they die because of their decision." "But he had a choice into not killing my parents but he did it anyway! Those children told me that he volunteered to kill my parents!" "But they don't know that another was also gonna do it. Two men were asked to volunteer to kill those doctors, two alchemist. Roy was one of them, he volunteered because he knew that the other alchemist would use his alchemy so he volunteered and used his gun. The other alchemist was the one who killed my family, Soft J. Kimble was gonna kill you parents the same way he did mine. Leaving nothing to remain but blood and-." A sob stopped Sylvia from speaking as she cried. Ed, Al and Winry were shocked, if roy hadn't volunteered to kill Winrys parents then someone else would've and it would've been gruesome.

Ed had heard about this man but never knew that he was one of the ones selected to kill Winry's parents. Sylvia calmed down and said. "You were lucky, the man who killed your parents was gonna tell you he was sorry while man told me he enjoyed seeing my family scream." Winry slowly lifted her arms and tightly hugged Sylvia as they cried, Sylvia whispered to Winry. "I know someone else that you can hate and blame, someone who's a monster." "Who?" "He's the one that gave the order to kill your parents, if he hadn't done that them maybe they'd still be here. His name was Brigadier General Basque Grand, he gave the order to kill them for just being doctors Winry." More tears appeared on Winrys face as she cried, Sylvia stroked her hair as tears went down her cheeks as well. Ed and Al got in on the hug as the two girls cried, comforting them.

Roy Mustang was in the small town that the Ishvalan refugee camp was where he left Sylvia at. It had been two years since he left her and to say he missed her was an understatement, he loved her with all his heart but knew he didn't deserve her. He had murdered her people and yet she treated him with kindness, something that he never deserved. As he walked he heard a familiar voice. "Roy!" He stopped and looked where the voice was coming from. He saw someone wearing a big hat and cloak holding a bag coming up to him, when they got to him they looked at him and said. "It's so good to see you!" Roy got a better look at her and recognized the eyes and white hair along with the smile. "Sylvia? What're you doing here?" "I needed to get some more food for dinner, would you like to come?" "Uh, I don't think that's a good idea Sylvia." "Oh come on I don't mind. Unless you have a phobia of bugs then that's fine." Roy was confused on that, why would bugs be her biggest concern? He agreed anyway and she smiled in happiness. "Thank you Roy! Come on follow me!" She grabbed his hand and dragged him along a path in the Forrest, as they walked Sylvia had not let go of his hand. Roy didn't recognize the path and was confused. Wasn't she taking him to the refugee camp? Before he could ask he saw a little cabin up ahead and Sylvia opened the door. "Welcome to my home Roy, come on in." Sylvia went in as Roy followed her, he looked around the place and saw that it was decent, except that it was barley lit and holes that looked like that had been patched up. Roy looked at Sylvia and saw her putting the stuff away then grabbing two buckets. She looks at him and says. "I'm gonna go get some water, I'll be back soon. Make yourself at home." Sylvia leaves and Roy looks at her surprised, as she leaves Roy looks around. He goes into what appears to be her room and sees a single bed along with some sheets and some pajamas on the bed. He closes the door and looks around some more, there was a small sink, an oven, a little ice box, a table and some chairs. It was actually a pretty roomie cabin, Roy looked at the holes and decided to fix them. He took out some chalk and drew a circle, material and wood weren't his forte but he did it anyway. He clapped his hands and touched the circle, the wood that was covering the hole aligned with the floor. Looking actually pretty decent, Roy got to work on the other holes and testing them out. He was actually proud of himself for this, it was getting dark soon and he was worried about Sylvia, right when he was about to leave to go find her. The door opened to reveal Sylvia carrying to buckets of water, she looked at him surprised and smiles. "Oh hey! Sorry about the wait, the well ran out of water and I had to to the river and It was muddy. Sorry." "No it's fine, here let me take them and you gets dry." Roy takes the buckets and places them down. "Thank you, I'm gonna change and get dinner ready." "Kay." Roy watched as she left and noticed that she was barefooted and her feet were covered in scuffs and were dirty. 'Has she always been barefooted?' Roy thought as he sat down. A minute later Sylvia came back in her pajamas and started making dinner as Roy watched with a fond look in his eyes. This woman, helped him realize that he can find redemption and it was all thanks to her.
