AN: Welcome to the last chapter! Pretty short I know. I didn't merge it to the previous canon chapter because I didn't want the bonus outtake to be the chapter this fic ended on. So here we are! Thanks for reading all the way through and giving my idea a chance! Check out my other fanfics too if you think you might enoy them.

Ok. New problem. It's not my problem no matter what Kaede tries to say. But...it is a problem. The Shikon needs to either be protected daily or destroyed utterly, Kagome can't reasonably keep coming back here like she has and it's no safer in the future but if it's destroyed utterly then she can't go home since she needs it to travel the well, unlike me.

Shippo was the one to come up with the obvious answer: Destroy it in Kagome's time, that way, if she's unable to keep traveling at least she'll be in her correct time. Kid is actually really smart, how bout that?

.

She wanted to wait until Sango's brother recovered but that's slow going. So slow that he may never fully recover in fact. We settled on waiting until he's awake and coherent for longer than a brief moment.

The humans took turns looking after both siblings, since Sango became almost unhealthily focused on caring for Kohaku. Miroku hadn't even inappropriately touched or spoken to her once during this time. Progress is progress I guess.

Why am I still here?

I've taken to spending my time gathering herbs and foods with strong health benefits for them to give to the boy...though I also make sure some gets stuffed down Sango's throat as well. Wouldn't make sense for her to get ill and die after getting this far. Sometimes Kagome tries to pull me away to help her practice what little skills she has. Shippo has joined us most of the time wanting to practice too. It's pretty amusing how easy it is to make her trip on her ass when she tries to use the things learned so far from Sango on me. Her balance is pathetic. But her grip is decent...

I noticed that Miroku has taken to helping old-little Kaede by taking over some of her duties and tasks since so much of her time is spent seeing to the boy at Kagome's request.

.

Hearing my name being called repetitively by the runt I decided to come over to where everyone was gathered out on the side of old-little Kaede's hut. "What?" I demanded once I arrived.

"Guess what Inuyasha! Sango wants to be a family with us!" Shippo exclaimed excitedly. Confused, I glanced at Sango who looked mildly alarmed and was blushing. No clues there then.

Jumping up at me, I lifted my arm so the runt could land on my hand and he used the limb to climb up to my shoulder and babble more. "We could be a proper pack! With territory and homes and everything! The others agree too. See I told you we were a pack Inuyasha", Shippo said with a smugly proud look on his face. Glancing between the three human faces sitting before him, each looking pleased and apprehensive in their own way, his eyes landed on Sango in silent inquiry.

She glanced away shyly for a moment before seeming to gather her composure and looking him in the eye confidently and speaking in that clear strong tone of hers, "I've been thinking this for a while now and I've decided that I care for you all would like it if we could still remain close now that our combined tasks regarding Naraku and the Shikon jewel are done. I can't say for sure how you feel about us but I like to think you do genuinely care given all we've been through together. If you're agreeable...I'd like to invite you back to my village to stay there and live. I've already invited Miroku and Shippo and Kagome too if she's able to return. It'll be her uh-away home?" "Home away from home" Kagome interrupted helpfully to correct her.

"Right. That." Sango nodded gratefully before clearing her throat to continue. "We would have to fix it up properly again but the Slayer village, my village, could become a home for you. I hope that you will at least consider it", she finished her statement.

Huh.

...Well that's...huh...

"And if I decline your offer?", was Inuyasha's droned response.

Eyes glinting with sincerity Sango declaired, "Then my offer would still stand in case you ever change your mind but you will always be a welcomed guest and friend". The other two nodded encouragingly beside her while staring at me, as if agreeing with her assertion.

Huh.

Feeling a sort of warmth spread through his chest and mostly ignoring it as he lightly scoffed at them, Inuyasha murmured a "We'll see". And ignoring the gentle pleased looks on the humans' faces as they gripped each other's hands or arms Inuyasha glided away with Shippo now hugging him.

Might as well go hunting. The kid could use the practice. But really...

Wow. That was something completely new.

.

.

After some time had passed and Kohaku began responding to Kaede's ministrations and Sango's coaxing I had Kagome say her goodbyes to everyone incase she's unable to come back to visit once the deed is done, she didn't like it but oh well.

I don't understand why she's so weepy over this, over me. Clingy even. Accusing me of something I don't understand. It's not like I even have to still be here and put up with this! The deal was I protect her until she collects all the broken shards. That's it. But I'm still here! Being helpful when I have no obligation to be so.

Ungrateful brat.

I can't believe all it took to get rid of the Shikon Jewel was to just...wish it away. We went through all of that! Brainstormed all kinds of methods, tried all kinds of destructive things and the thing that worked...was wishing that it disappeared forever.

Bullshit!

.

.

.

Well this is interesting. I can still travel freely through the well, no problem. But...I can even take Kagome with me back and forth. She was extremely happy when she found that out after remembering I somewhat accidentally brought Shippo to her time once.

So now...

Miroku is interested in seeing the advancements she's told them about, and Kagome herself has been making plans on the things she wants to do with us all in her time.

Guess I'll be dealing with them and her nonsense for a while yet. Feh.

Could be worse.

Won't be boring at least.

Think I'll find a demon to train me in swords further than Sango could. Maybe get Shippo to learn it too.

And that's it, that's all! Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed my brain babbles lol.

*shrugs* At least I completed it...*purposely not thinking about the incomplete Grojband fic*
