Shinobi's Pride
Chapter 03
Naruto was watching their surroundings for any sign of an ambush or attack. He knew the next fight would be with someone on Kakashi's level but that didn't mean he couldn't be alert and do what he could to help Kakashi. As theme seven walked down the road Naruto saw movement in a bush walking over to the bush Naruto pulled out a snow white hare. The hare was unusually calm in Naruto's arms.
As Naruto rejoined the group with the hare, Naruto was concerned.
"Kakashi-sensei I think this hare was raised for the purpose of a Kawarimi." Naruto explained.
"Why do you say that Naruto?" Kakashi asked.
"Well it's spring time it's fur should be brown this time of year and it's way to calm in my arms. A wild hare wouldn't be this calm in the arms of a human." Naruto explained.
"Everyone stay alert." was all Kakashi said.
Before anyone could take another step Kakashi heard something going through the air.
"Everyone get down!" Kakashi yelled, tackling Tazuna to the ground.
As everyone hit the ground a large sword flew over their heads. As the sword embed itself into a tree a man appeared standing on the hilt of the sword.
"So this is why the Demon Brothers failed." the man said looking at Kakashi.
"Actually they failed because of my students." Kakashi corrected the man.
"No matter, this is where your mission ends, I'm here for the bridge builder. Whether that includes your lives as well is up to you, Kakashi the Copy Ninja." the man said.
"You're not getting Tazuna." Kakashi said firmly. "Momochi Zabuza, Demon of the Hidden Mist."
As Kakashi and Zabuza were testing each other's wills Naruto felt the presence of someone else at the battlefield. Naruto looked at Hinata and spoke.
"Hinata-chan don't let anyone pass you there is someone else here and I'm going to fish them out let no one pass you." Naruto said.
"O-Ok Naruto-kun." Hinata said.
Naruto slipped into the mist in search of the other person on the battlefield. Naruto jumped up into the trees to fish out the mystery person. Naruto used his senses to look for the person and eventually found them. A girl about his age with a hunter's mask on her hip.
"Be careful Zabuza-sama." the girl said, unaware of Naruto's presence.
"Who are you?" Naruto demanded startling the girl.
The girl turned drawing a senbon ready to fight. "My name is Haku. How did you find me?"
"I followed your chakra." Naruto said. "So you are with Zabuza then?"
"Zabuza-sama is my master and I his faithful tool." Haku said. "I will not let you ruin Zabuza-sama's plans."
Haku threw three senbon at Naruto who easily dodge them with his enhanced speed.
"Then I guess it's time we fight. I can't let you or Zabuza hurt Tazuna-san." Naruto said as he dropped to all fours letting the Kyubi's chakra envelop him once again.
Back with the rest of Team Seven everyone felt the Kyubi's chakra.
"What is this chakra?" Sasuke asked.
"Did Sensei's seal break?" Kakashi asked himself.
Hinata was frozen in fear as she had never felt something so dark and full of hatred.
"This chakra, what is it?" Zabuza asked.
Naruto looked at Haku, his demonic chakra, a sinister orange, a single chakra tail swaying dangerously behind him. Haku was feeling the full force of Naruaot's chakra and was afraid.
"What kind of demon are you?" Haku asked out of fear.
"The Kyubi no Yoko." Naruto said his voice sinister and full of anger.
Naruto rushed Haku and raked his claws across her chest spraying blood onto the nearby trees. Haku looked at Naruto with fear in her eyes.
'His speed even with my mirrors I won't be able to match him.' Haku thought.
Haku made a single hand seal and needles made entirely out of water formed around the duo. As the Needle rushed Haku and Naruto Haku escaped through the single hole in the needles while Naruto just stood there letting the needles hit him.
Naruto glared at Haku countless needles protruding from his body. Naruto glared at Haku with anger filled red eye with slits in his pupils rather than normal round pupils.
Haku made another hand seal as a last attempt to trap Naruto. In an instant a dome made entirely of ice mirrors was formed. As Haku melded into one of the mirrors her image was displayed on all the mirrors.
Naruto looked at all the mirrors surrounding him and growled. He began running through the hand seals for his jutsu.
"Futon: Kazeryudan no Jutsu!" Naruto yelled.
As Naruto yelled the name of his jutus a howling dragon made entirely out of wind crashed through the mirrors destroying them.
'His power is incredible. He is not someone I should take lightly.' Haku thought.
With the mirrors destroyed Haku was standing there with multiple cuts on her person. Haku made another hand seal and slammed her hands on the ground.
"Hissatsu Hyōsō!" Halu yelled.
In an instant a number of Large Ice spears erupted from the ground impaling Naruto. Haku saw Naruto's body on one of the ice spears and let out a breath thinking Naruto was dead. Then Naruto moved and climbed off the spear.
"That actually hurt." Naruto said.
Naruto rushed Haku once again and this time instead of raking his claws across her body he formed a spear with his clawed hand and thrust it through Haku's chest piercing her heart killing the girl instantly. With Haku dead Naruto let go of the Kyubi's chakra and returned to normal. Once back to normal Naruto rejoined his team just in time to see Kakashi kill Zabuza.
"Naruto we need to talk." Kakashi said as he walked over to his team.
"We can talk later, we need to get to Tazuna-san's house first." Naruto said he knew what Kakashi wanted to talk about. It was obvious with the way Kakashi said that they needed to talk.
As the team got ready to move, Kakashi suddenly fell face first onto the ground.
Naruto sighed and picked up Kakashi and slung him over his back. "Tazuna-san, kindly lead the way to your house."
Once the group arrived at Tazuna's, Naruto put Kakashi on a bedroll in the guest bedroom to regain his strength.
"Hey Naruto where did you go off to earlier while Kakashi was fighting Zabuza?" Sasuke asked.
"I felt another person on the battlefield so I went to take care of them." Naruto replied.

The next morning Kakashi woke up and with the help of a pair of crutches was able to move around. Kakashi found Naruto out on the roof of the house and by using chakra Kakashi walked up the side of the house to join Naruto.
"So you can use the Kyubi's chakra." Kakashi said.
"Your point?" Naruto asked, "It's a tool that I have to fight with. I'm not as smart as Sasuke or Sakura, I have no clan to fall back one for training and clan jutsu."
"You created your own jutsu. I think you are plenty smart enough." Kakashi said. "As far as the clan goes, the Uzumaki were a clan of Fuinjutsu users. They were also famed for long lifespans and healing factors."
"Yea just one problem they're all dead so who is going to teach me the clan jutsu of the Uzumaki?" Naruto questioned, glaring at Kakashi.
Naruto was very guarded when talking about family and clan. He was an orphan with no clan or family, he was alone.
Kakashi was at a loss. He knew Naruto was an orphan but he didn't know that it was this bad.
"I know how you feel. When my father killed himself he left me alone, sure I had all the scrolls that contained our clan secrets but I didn't have anyone to teach me." Kakashi said, trying to sympathize with his student.
What Kakashi didn't realize was that Naruto was the son of his own sensei.
"So now that we established that I have no one to teach me I took what I could and learned to fight using the Kyubi's chakra as my own." Naruto said, looking back toward the forest that surrounded Tazuna's house.
"How did you learn about the Kyubi?" Kakashi asked.
"When I was younger everyone kept calling me the Kyubi brat or demon child. So when they covered meditation in class I actually paid attention and learned how to meditate. So I went home and began to meditate and while I was meditating I met the Kyubi." Naruto explained. "After that the Kyubi taught me how to use it's chakra as my own."
'He doesn't see how dangerous it is for him to use the Kyubi's chakra. I better report this to Hokage-sama.' Kakashi thought.
Naruto looked out over the forest. Kakashi sat with Naruto deep in thought about what he could do to help Naruto.
"Come Naruto, let's do some training." Kakashi said standing up.
Naruto didn't reply, he just stood up ready to follow Kakashi. Kakashi led Naruto into the house to get Sasuke and Hinata before beginning their training.
"Alright you three we are going to do some training. You already know about tree climbing and water walking so now it's time for the next step in controlling your chakra, elemental chakra. Each person is born with an elemental affinity. While it's possible to use all five elements each person is born with one affinity, unless you have a kekkei genkai." Kakashi explained before pulling out a piece of paper. "In my hands is chakra paper. It's used to discover what element a person is born with."
Kakashi pushed his chakra into the paper and watched as it wrinkled.
"As you can see the paper is wrinkled, that's because I have a Lightning affinity." Kakashi said. "Now I want you three to try."
Kakashi handed each of his students a piece of chakra paper to discover their elemental affinity. When Sasuke channeled his chakra the paper wrinkled just like Kakashi's had, Hinata's paper caught fire and burned away, and Naruto's paper split in half.
"Very good. It seems you are all very diverse in your elements." Kakashi said. "Now I want everyone to grab a leaf of a tree and I will tell you how to learn your element."
For the next several hours team seven practiced with their respective elements until dusk had settled and it was time for dinner. While sitting down to dinner Inari a young boy glared at the Team Seven.
"Why do you try so hard? No one can beat Gato, you're all just going to die." Inari said.
"Kid Gato is no threat to trained ninja. Yes he can hire people that can hurt ninja but in of himself he is weak he has other people do his dirty work because he can't do it himself." Naruto said annoyance in his voice.
"Whatever you don't even know what it's like to suffer." Inari said.
That struck a nerve in Naruto whose eyes turned red and his pupils became slits.
"You think you're the only one that's suffered? Kozo you're not the only one who's suffered. You're not an orphan, you have a family that loves you, and your grandfather is doing something to try and better your life. Do you think your grandfather will just lay down and die because you think no one can beat Gato?" Naruto yelled at Inari.
Hinata heard everything Naruto said and felt bad for him. She knew Naruto was an orphan but she didn't know just how alone he was.
Sasuke was also annoyed with Inari. Sasuke was an orphan and last of his clan thanks to his older brother Itachi.
Naruto rose from his seat and stormed out of the house leaving everyone there. Naruto went out into the town with anger in his eyes. He wanted Gato dead and had half a mind to find him and take him out personally. Naruto saw a brothel, something that looked odd in a village as small as Nami but it was a great place to gather intel.
Naruto took off his Hitai-ate and put it in his pocket before using the henge to alter his appearance into an older version of himself wearing a simple fisherman's outfit. With his disguise on, Naruto walked into the brothel and looked around surveying the layout of the brothel. There were plenty of thugs whom Naruto suspected to be Gato's henchmen and plenty of young attractive women who Naruto suspecte were either forced to work in the brothel to pay off debts of were imported from other villages and were slaves to the criminal tyrant.
Naruto growled subconsciously and walked further into the brothel. He wanted to shut this place down and he knew he had the power to do it. His anger was feeding his inner demon and the Kyubi wanted Naruto to unleash his anger.
