Very fun battle.

Anyways here's the chapter

Sinnoh Ash in Alola POV:

"So you're telling me, this is everywhere in Alola?" Ash asked as he ate his 47th Malasada

Kukui sat in awe, his jaw hanging out like an Exploud. Amazed at how Ash in the past had an even greater appetite when compared with his present self.

"Ummm Ash, just because the champion eats free doesn't mean you can eat their entire stock," Professor Burnet said with a laugh.

"I'm sorry, this is just so good!" Ash said as he devoured yet another one

Eventually, Ash stopped eating and looked at his two "parents"

"So umm, what exactly does a champion do besides fight and stuff?" Ash asked sheepishly, "I guess I've never really thought about it,"

"Well, you're the guardian of the whole region now, so you defend against any threat to Alola. Oh, you also are the head of the league and also a global representative of the region!" Burnet explained to Ash

"Ok, but when do I get to fight?" Ash asked

"Very often, Ash, don't you worry!" Kukui said with a laugh

"Oh, speaking of, ummm, do I get paid?" Ash nervously asked

Kukui and Burnet both laughed immensely for a reason Ash didn't understand

After a moment, Kukui nodded, "Yeah, Ash, you do get paid, and the money is in a bank account we control at the moment, so if you ever want to buy anything, just let us know,"

"Hmm, alright, sounds fine by me!" Ash said happily

Later that day…

"So you're telling me I have to dance to unleash a powerful move?" Kukui nodded, and Ash sighed

"Well, best be on with it….. It's not embarrassing if you unleash raw power after, I guess," Ash said as he failed and fell on his first attempt at dancing.

Kukui laughed, "Oh Ash! I also brought you a teacher! Lille was kind enough to volunteer, so she's your teacher for the day, because I have an urgent conference. No ulterior motives!"

"Uhhh ok?" Ash said

Lille offered Ash a hand, "Need some help?" Ash grabbed her hand and hoisted himself up

"Nice seeing you again!" Ash said happily

Lille laughed, "Ash, I literally gave you a tour of the island all day yesterday,"

Ash spoke in defiance of what Lille said, "Well doesn't mean it's not nice to see you!"

"True, anyways let's get to work. How are the z moves coming along?" Lille asked

"Maybe, I'll get it soon enough! This is nothing compared to teaching Garchomp how to master Draco Meteor!"

Lille laughed, "Well, let's get to it! First, start by placing your feet like that, and then…."

About an hour later, Ash completed his first successful breakneck blitz with Pikachu and a few hours after that he had mastered almost ten different Z moves by late afternoon.

Lille was amazed, the bonds he had with his pokemon hadn't changed, but his work ethic certainly had. Maybe it was just the fact that Alola Ash was technically on vacation, but this Ash was very very motivated to improve. She figured she'd ask why when he finished his next move.

"So Ash, I gotta ask, you're so much more determined now than you were from my timeline? What happened in Sinnoh that made you this determined?"

Ash's mind went back to Paul when Lille mentioned his work ethic. For the past few months, suffering defeat after defeat, he swore to himself that Paul would never outwork him. Ash knew he wasn't ever the smartest trainer, but that seemed to be a good thing. Trainers like Conoway never really could beat him. But Paul rubbed him the wrong way on principle, the way how he treated pokemon and people went against everything Ash stood for.

Ash sighed and turned his attention towards Lille, "I have, or had a rival. He treated his pokemon terribly and almost killed a Chimchar he owned. I took it in, and now Infernape is one of my best. For Infernape's sake, and for my own, I need to be a better trainer than Paul, and that means outworking him,"

"Oh, I never knew you had a rival like that," Lille said

Ash's voice soured when Lille mentioned the term rival "Yeah, Paul and I always had a strange relationship, like he was always a step ahead of me and was just as determined as I was to prove me in his words, pathetic, but I wouldn't call him a rival, he was more of an enemy to me!"

Lille tried lightening the mood, "Well, I'm sorry you never got the chance to beat the daylights out of him, but knowing your team, I have no doubt that you would have sent him home crying!"

"I know, but truth be told, I was scared of battling him for a while. Because the last time I did, a lot of my pokemon were badly hurt," Ash said sadly

Lille shook her head, "Ash, you need to forgive yourself! Remember, you always told me in Alola to never give up until it's over. And for you, it seems to have hardly yet began! We're just getting to the good part in your story!"

Ash smiled, "You're a good friend Lille, thanks!"

"Anytime Ash, I'm always here if you need me," Lille said sweetly

"Well I think I'll take you up on that offer," Ash said with a laugh

Lille's cheeks flushed red, realizing that Ash was flirting

Ash had no clue that he was flirting, and instead just said the first thing on his mind.

"Wanna go get some food?" Ash said as his stomach started to rumble

Lille giggled, "Want to have dinner at my house? You can meet my brother and my mom"

"I don't see why not?" Ash said with a shrug

Lille's eyes widened, "OH! Ummm you're rivals with my brother, or the Ash from before was. So let me fill you in on all of the details,"

A few hours later…

—-

"OH MY GOSH! LILLE, YOU LIVE IN A MANSION!" Ash said wide eyed

Lille giggled, "That's exactly what you said the last time you were here!"

Ash sniffed twice and nodded in approval "Well, it certainly smells good, what are you guys making?"

Lille smiled at the praise, "A family recipe, you'll find out soon enough here!"

Just then, a boy with hair identical in color to Lille's walked down the stairs.

"Oh, Ash, good to see you! Never got to say congrats on the victory, that Serena girl was tough, but I do gotta ask, as cool as that Garchomp was, what exactly happened to your whole team?" Gladion inquired of Ash

Ash looked at Lille and she just whispered in his ear, "You can trust him!"

"Well, truth be told Gladion, I'm from the past. I woke up in the future the morning of the conference very confused, and these past few days after the conference, Lille has been helping me out!"

Gladion crinkled his eyebrows in an emotion Ash couldn't identify

"Oh…. well I certainly believe you, weird things happen to you Ash, but I'm just glad you're safe. But don't think just because you're from the past that you can get off scotch free! In fact, lets battle now while dinner is cooking!"

"Gladion I don't think that mother would-" Lille tried to speak but she was interrupted by her brother

Gladion interrupted Lille, "No! We're doing this outside. I want to see that Garchomp in action!"

"Sounds fun! Let's battle!" Ash spoke excitedly, always down for a battle

"How's a fast one on one sound?" Gladion suggested

"Fine by me!" Ash said happily

—-

"Alright, Garchomp, I choose you!"

"Show them how we do this Silvally, let's go!"

Garchomp looked at Ash and nodded, "Alright, lets start this off with a dragon claw!"

Garchomp rushed at Silvally, who was struck by the dragon claw and slid back a few feet

Gladion gave his order, "Silvally, use giga impact!"

Silvally rushed Garchomp, and Ash gave his next order, match it head on with a dragon rush!"

Garchomp flew up in the air and descended at a rapid pace towards Silvally and slammed into it, the two attacks meeting in a mix of purple and gold.

Gladion threw a disc towards Silvally and it turned white, Ash looked at it puzzled

"Silvally, use ice beam!" Gladion commanded

Garchomp rolled out of the way, and automatically fired off a flamethrower like Ash had trained it to.

"Now Garchomp, like we practiced! Draco Meteor!"

Gladion threw a purple disc at Silvally and yelled out

"Now Silvally, do the same!"

Silvally looked up at the air and fired off a rock which exploded, but Garchomps draco meteor was ten times larger, and moving much faster.

The rocks came crashing down towards the pokemon, striking both Garchomp and SIlvally.

Ash cried out, "Garchomp, another dragon rush!"

"Ice beam again!" Gladion shouted

Silvally fired a much weaker ice beam, whereas Garchomp was as fast as ever. Garchomp slammed into Silvally, and a dust cloud was kicked up. But it was obvious who had win, Silvally collapsed, and Garchomp cried out in pain, but didn't faint.

Gladion just smiled and recalled Silvally

"Thanks Ash, it was a fun battle!" Gladion said as he walked back inside

Lille smiled, "So that's my brother!"

At dinner:

"Ash, I'm so proud of you!" Lusamine said happily as she started eating dinner

"So umm Lille, mom and I have an announcement to make," Gladion said nervously

"We're going to look for your father in Kanto." Lusamine shattered the tension

"Oh….that's…..that's great!" Lille said

"We leave in three days, so start packing!" Lusamine said

"Actually….I'm not sure if I want to go. You and Gladion are such great trainers, I'd just be dead weight for some sections. Not to mention, I'm doing really important work in Alola. I'm the new secretary of the entire league and Ash's head assistant! Isn't that right Ash?" Lille kicked Ash under the table who just nodded

"Oh, well I was unaware you had such responsibilities? Ash, would it be ok with you if Lille traveled with us?"

Lille looked at Ash with eyes that were pleading, and he went with a safe answer

"I think Lille should make her own decision on something as important as this. She needs to find her own path in life, as do all of us. And that takes time!" Ash explained his reasoning

"Spoken like a true champion!" Lusamine said impressed

Lille started tearing up slightly "Mom, I love you guys so much, but I just can't go! I have so much stuff, and you and Gladion will find Dad, I know! But it's just not worth it for me to go and drop everything!"

Gladion sighed, "Mom, I think I agree with Lille, it's meaningless for the league secretary to get up and leave like that,"

Lusamine finally caved, "Well, if both of my kids insist, so be it. Lille, you better take good care of the house! Because we all know how messy you can be"

Everyone laughed at her joke, but more importantly, Lille smiled to herself, knowing she'd be staying in Alola, and close with Ash.

Later that night:

Ash and Lille were walking back on the beach towards Ash's/Kukui's house.

"So Lille, I gotta ask. Why'd you lie at dinner about being my assistant and secretary? Not that I mind or anything, and you'd be the best person in the world for that job, but it's not how things are right now,"

Lille sighed, "Well Ash, truth be told I'm really happy here and I don't want to be away from all of you again. My family is great and all, but you guys are just the best. Plus, you know dang well that you could use an assistant! Anyways, thanks for sticking up for me,"

Ash laughed, "You're right about that, thanks for spending the day with me Lille!"

Ash walked away towards the house and he heard Lille yell out towards him.

"Ash! Come here!"

Ash turned around and Lille looked at him and stood on her toes, and put her hands around his head, planting a kiss on his lips.

"Goodnight Ash, thanks for being the best. I really appreciate it!" Lille ran off, cheeks red as a cherry.

Ash stood there, blushing with his mouth wide open like an Exploud
