Chapter 2

3 MONTHS LATER

Jessica sat at her desk drinking a bottle of wine straight from the glass. Trish entered the apartment wearing a red dress.

"Hey, Jess," Trish said.

"Don't you knock?" Jessica asked.

"Jessica," Trish said, ignoring her sister, "this is ridiculous. It's 2:00 in the afternoon."

"So what?" Jessica asked. "It's Friday and today's been slow."

"Whatever," Trish said.

"Why are you so dressed up?" Jessica asked.

"I'm going to gala," Trish replied.

"Of course you are," Jessica said.

"You're my plus-one," Trish said.

"Hell no," Jessica said. "I don't do galas."

"Come on, Jessica," Trish said. "It's been a year. Kilgrave is dead. Come with me and let's have some fun."

"How about no!" Jessica said hatefully.

"They'll have a champagne fountain," Trish said.

An hour later, Jessica and Trish arrived at the New York branch of Stark Industries.

"Stark Industries?" Jessica asked in an annoyed tone. "Seriously?"

"What's your problem with Tony Stark?" Trish asked.

"He's the stereotypical playboy," Jessica replied.

"And Iron Man," Trish said.

"He doesn't even have real powers," Jessica said. "It's his suit."

Tony Stark and Pepper Potts approached them.

"Jessica Jones," Tony said. "Long time, no see."

"Tony Stark," Jessica said in a fake sincere tone. "What a pleasure to see you."

"You remember Pepper Potts, right?" Tony asked.

"Yes," Jessica said. "Hello, Pepper."

"Hi, Jessica," Pepper said in a similar tone.

"So, I hear you're a couple now," Jessica said.

"We sure are," Pepper said.

"It's so nice seeing you," Jessica said.

"I know you don't mean that," Pepper said.

"You know me so well," Jessica said. "Now where's the champagne fountain I was promised?"

"It's over there," Tony said pointing to a huge champagne fountain.

"Later," Jessica said.

Jessica walked off and Tony and Pepper looked at Trish.

"I'm sorry about her," Trish said. "She hasn't been the same since the whole Kilgrave thing."

"I completely understand," Tony said.

Meanwhile, Jessica sat at the open bar gulping glasses of champagne like shots. After her fifth drink, Jessica handed the male bartender her empty glass.

"Okay, Miss," the bartender said. "I'm going to have to cut you off."

"Seriously?" Jessica asked in an irritated tone. "You know people are going to be drinking more than five glasses!"

"Not all at once," the bartender said.

"Don't you know who I am?" Jessica asked.

"Yeah," the bartender replied. "You're Jessica Jones."

"Yes," Jessica said. "And I want another glass of champagne!"

"I'm sorry, Miss Jones," the bartender said. "I can't give you anymore alcohol."

"I hate you!" Jessica shouted.

"I hate you more!" the bartender shouted.

Ten minutes later, Jessica and the bartender stood outside at the back of building having sex. Trish walked out the back door and immediately saw them.

"Seriously?!" Trish shouted.

Jessica and the bartender stopped what they were doing. Jessica then quickly zipped her dress and followed her sister back into the building.

"Trish!" Jessica shouted. "Come back!"

Trish stopped and turned around.

"What is wrong with you?!" Trish shouted. "Are you trying to make me look bad?!"

"How could I possibly make you look bad?" Jessica asked.

"You're my sister!" Trish shouted. "Trish Walker's sister having sex in an alley behind Stark Industries does not help my reputation!"

"Says the girl who was in and out of rehab thrice by the time she was 20!" Jessica shouted.

Trish slapped Jessica across the face. Everyone at the gala stopped what they were doing and gasped. Jessica held her face.

"Trish!" Jessica shouted. "What the hell is wrong with you?!"

"You're what's wrong with me!" Trish shouted.

"I didn't even want to come!" Jessica shouted.

"Then leave!" Trish shouted.

"Fine!" Jessica shouted.

Jessica stormed across the lobby of Stark Industries. On her way out, she grabbed a glass of champagne and a gift bag.
